OSU’s crackdown on “Islamophobia” proves ineffective in stopping Muslim migrant’s jihad attack

“In the wake of recent terror attacks, some liberal journalists and academics have suggested that Islamophobia causes Islamic terrorism.”

And so OSU set out to stamp out “Islamophobia”: “Earlier this month, the university coordinated an ‘Islam 101’ program with the Noor Islamic Cultural Center. The university’s Middle East Studies Center sponsored multiple events meant to raise awareness about Islamophobia. OSU also sponsored an August lecture in which a Muslim professor told his ‘personal story’ of Islamophobia.”

Oddly enough, this didn’t work. Now, why is that?

But a series of initiatives meant to stamp out Islamophobia at Ohio State University proved ineffective at stopping Somali refugee and devout Muslim Abdul Razak Ali Artan from stabbing nine people on Monday.

Artan, who referenced al-Qaida cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki in a pre-stabbing rant posted to Facebook, launched his attack in spite of university events like “Islam 101” and “Islamophobia in America” meant to decrease the Islamophobia that some leftists in the media and academia have said is the root cause of Islamic terrorism.

In recent months, OSU has worked to crack down on Islamophobia.

Earlier this month, the university coordinated an “Islam 101” program with the Noor Islamic Cultural Center. The university’s Middle East Studies Center sponsored multiple events meant to raise awareness about Islamophobia. OSU also sponsored an August lecture in which a Muslim professor told his “personal story” of Islamophobia….

And yet, OSU’s anti-Islamophobia workshops were somehow not enough to thwart a machete-wielding Somali refugee.

    Well, what were you expecting? A good rule of thumb: if the left says one thing, assume the opposite until evidence to the contrary. And there’s no evidence to the contrary on this issue. Muslims go jihadi because of what their religion teaches, whether or not infidels engage in “anti-islamophobia” actions.

    • The root cause of Islamic terrorism is that Islam teaches that the kafir must convert or die – no ambiguity, just simple and straight forward. “Islamophobia” protesters are sheep being ignorantly led to the slaughter; most have probably never independently investigated what Islam’s holiest texts say about their worth and their future.

  3. Islam attracts people who are inadequate, mentally stunted and have chips a mile wide on their shoulders. This raw material is easy for these evil bastards to mould into shape. Anyone who loves life, freedom and happiness would never and will never be attracted to the religion of hate. Evil people succeed if good people let them!! I bet when this attack happened and they found out it was a Muslim these apologists were very slightly pissed off and lets hope hugely embarrassed – although I doubt it!!

Sometimes I think these programs are not really about effective Islamophobia education (indoctrination), The people that run them and those who attend with enthusiasm simply get a good feeling from it. Sort of a euphoric self-validation, almost addictive. “Look at me, I am so noble, such a good and tolerant person. Why, I could just hug myself!”. Their noble convictions also serve as an insulator against the cognitive dissonance that must nibble at their consciences when Islam continues with its remorseless and savage attacks on non-believers. When the Islamophobia programs fail to work, they do not challenge their own thinking, they redouble their efforts.

    Even if these people were to be actual victims. I do not believe they would change their minds.

    In short, I think they are simply nuts.

      I also have known a few ( fortunately, for me, very few) graduates from OSU.

      All were far out lefties. Carter was too far right for them, as was Mondale ( now this was in the 70’s and 80’s–not today, when this MIGHT be the case with the CPUSA) (Communist Party of The United States of America– they endorsed Hillary Clinton, in the Presidential election, incidentally).

      I don’t know if indoctrination, or just that is who is attracted there.

      They all were limousine liberals-lived in segregated/gated communities and sent their children to private schools, while bemoaning ghettoized areas.

      Somehow I doubt we’ll be seeing anything like that and even if we did I suspect it would “prove ineffective”.

  12. Profound self loathing among privileged white people in expensive universities is epidemic.

    Its causes probably lie in the radical leftists who populate so-called ‘social science’ departments as a result of affirmative action hiring over decades. In most universities, social science courses are a requirement for graduation. If you get on the wrong side of an extremist social science professor, your GPA nosedives and your future is in jeopardy.

    Weakness is to violence, as a vacuum cleaner is to dirt.

      This-liberal social science professors, is nothing new.

      Decades ago, as a 16 1/2 year old high school graduate, I took 2 night summer college classes at CCNY (City College of New York) -political science and business law.

      The business law teacher was an old time liberal ( today would be considered right wing conservative) and supported such efforts ad-in an ethnic neighborhood, it was OK to have policemen, firemen, etc who spoke with the same ethnic accent (the cases he handled, side tracking- were civil service workers with Eastern European accents who worked in areas with large concentrations of- Eastern European refugees and their children- and who spoke their native language also) (he also lived near me, and we often rode the subway to our homes together). The political science teacher was a far out ( for then and probably even now, lefty).

      I expressed support for some positions taken by people like Barry Goldwater, Curtis LeMay, Richard Nixon, etc. He crucified me verbally. The law teacher told me, I should curb my views, as to not get an F. (I GOT A 99 ON THE MIDTERM)-AND WAS TOLD, THAT COULD BE CHANGED.

      So, I played the game, for my A. (A semester later I changed schools).

      But, the liberals forcing their views–nothing new.

  14. Remember the video some years ago explaining where the term *islamophobia* originated and why…made up by moslims who wished to invade and subjugate the nations made up of normal people as opposed to devil worshippers like they are. The source of the word: the OIC.

    And it was made up to use as a weapon…much like the word *racist* has been turned into a weapon to silence those who speak truth about everyday things.

  15. From 2007 & 2011, Robert’s 5-point plan to end “islamo-phobia” — Muslims can:

    1. Focus their indignation on Muslims committing violent acts in the name of Islam, not on non-Muslims reporting on those acts.

    2. Renounce definitively, sincerely, honestly, and in deeds, not just in comforting words, not just “terrorism,” but any intention to replace the constitutions of any non-Muslim state with Sharia even by peaceful means. In line with this, clarify what is meant by their condemnations of the killing of innocent people by stating unequivocally that non-Muslim civilians, including Israelis, are innocent people, teaching accordingly in mosques and Islamic schools, and behaving in accord with these new teachings.

    4. Begin comprehensive international programs in mosques all over the world to teach sincerely against the ideas of violent jihad and Islamic supremacism.

    5. Actively and honestly work with Western law enforcement officials to identify and apprehend jihadists within Western Muslim communities.

  16. What I simply do not understand is why Liberals refuse to even listen to, or read, those that are educating them on the perils of Islam. Also, they specifically tell us what their plans are for all infidels as well as the West. I have to agree with the above….they are simply mentally ill.

  19. One can oonly hope that at least some of these “Islamophobia 101” organizers and participants were among the victims. That would be only fair, and very educational for them. Unfortunately, it is likely that they didnt get a scratch, and entirely innocent people who didn’t even know what the fraudulent concept of Islamophobia meant are the ones who ended up in the hospital. The families should sue the college and the professors who supported this “Islamophobia” joke and get them to pay millions of dollars in compensation for their stupidity and lack of vigilance. Maybe that will get their attention.

  23. Language is one of the most powerful tools that the left uses. An excellent book on this issue is “The Language of Oppression,” by Basmajian in which he goes over how Hitler used language to his advantage and to change the minds of the populace. (He also used art.)

    I do not use the term Islamophobia because it is nonsense. Phobia means an unrealistic fear.

    I do not refer to Palestinian Arabs as Palestinians since that term, which was invented circa 1966, is responsible for many people erroneously believing that at some time in human history there was a sovereign country called Palestine, which is simply not true. I prefer to use the term Fakestinians.

    The more recent far left language ruse has been to substitute the word gender for sex. Most people do not realize that BY DEFINITION gender means that you are what you say you are. It does not designate your anatomical sex.

  27. This entire University situation is making me sick! None of these little snots every went to bed hungry! None ever got spanked when caught breaking the rules!
    And all grew up with overly indulgent parents.
    They certainly don’t deserve my respect with out earning it!
