Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Rush Limbaugh cites Jihad Watch

Dec 16, 2016 7:21 pm By Robert Spencer

A growing influence within a growing movement.

“What Would Jesus Do? The Pope Says He’d Be a Syrian Islamist Migrant,” RushLimbaugh.com, December 16, 2016:

…You know the pope is out today saying something like this?  The pope is equating Mary and Joseph to Syrian and Islamic Jihad refugees, and trying to say that we in the United States better be careful because we might be rejecting the next Mary and Joseph.  They’ve tried this before.  Mary and Joseph used to be representatives of the homeless.  Now they are representatives of illegal immigrants and weaponized jihadists.

It’s a website called JihadWatch.org.  This is the headline: “Pope: Christmas Reminds Us That Jesus Was a Migrant.”  It wasn’t very long that Jesus was homeless. Well, his parents were homeless.

The homeless used Mary and Joseph to raise sympathy and awareness for the plight of the homeless and tried to frightened people and say, “You know what, if you deny that man and wife shelter, that could be the next Mary and Joseph because, you know, Mary and Joseph were homeless, and the Christ child was born of homeless parents who were turned out by an equally mean society.”

And now they’re doing it with jihadists.  Now they’re doing it with illegal immigrants.  Now they’re doing it with refugees.  And I’m gonna tell you something, folks.  Besides Angela Merkel and Obama, you gotta put the pope right in there with world leaders who are helping to spread and sanction this whole idea of Islamic supremacism based on the fact that we all need to share Islamic guilt.  Comparing Jesus to the invaders of Europe who are committing all of these atrocities?

My gosh, the left has just infected everything that it has touched.  It’s a poison.  Christmas reminds us that Jesus was a migrant.  Yeah, I remember when Jesus killed 130 people in Paris.  I remember when Jesus wiped out people in San Bernardino.  And I remember when Jesus attacked the military at Fort Hood.  Yeah.  I remember when Jesus hijacked three airplanes and flew them into the World Trade Center.  What kind of insanity is this?  It’s everywhere, and it’s all because Hillary Clinton lost the election.

They have all become unhinged, unable to accept it, unable to deal with losing the election….

The Roman Catholic Church is on the verge of becoming extinct. The payout for the past priest sexual abuse cases and dwindling attendance have left the RCC with a very strained financial position. To add insult to injury, this Pope is demeaning himself to the Islamic state and further pushing away any hope for the RCC.

The only chance for the RCC is a new Pope that actually gets it! If the new Pope calls out Islam for what it is, the RCC will not only survive but might actually thrive.

Tom, the Catholic Church will not become extinct, in spite of the scandals by the humans within the church. Jesus promised “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” ‎Matthew 16:19.
Looking back over 2000 years, so much good done and blessing by the members of the Church (clergy, lay people). And yes some many problems & scandals within the Church (worst than today), and it is still here! Church attendance is dwindling in some regions (Europe), but growing in others Asia, Africa.

Being that there is no trinity, as proven in the word of God, Himself in the Holy Bible, its spreading of falsehood worldwide would not be a blessing, but a curse. Revelation 12:9 and Revelation chapters 17& 18. The “rock” Jesus was speaking of was himself, not Peter (See Matthew 21:42 and 1st Peter 2:7. The truth is clear.

The fact remains that the pope speaks ex cathedral only on matters of faith and morals. This pope’s politics are called into question. In the past hundred years, there have been popes who have spoken with wisdom and clarity on numerous non religious issues including Leo, Pious XII, John Paul, and Benidict. This pope, not so much. To blame the collapse of European Civilization on Francis seems to miss the point of the irrelevancy of religion in European Life. Interestingly, Poland, which maintains some level of a Catholic identity, seems to be strongly resisting being pushed over by these waves of Islamic invaders. Pope Francis, when her speaks politically, is speaking as a former lefty college professor.

Mary and Joseph, according to the bible, had a home in Nazereth. They were in Bethlehem when Jesus was born because it was required that they register there in the census for taxing purposes. Jesus, again according to the bible, was born in a manger because the city of Bethlehem was crowded owing to the census taking. Some versions say a stable, some say a cave. But the couple was from Nazareth in Judaea and Joseph worked as a carpenter there. The Pope plays fast and loose with the bible.

Although I am an Atheist, I was raised a Christian. This pope is an idiot in a dress. And, he looks like Gomer Pyle.

Jesus, as a human, was a Jew, sent for the purpose of saving Jews, God’s chosen people;(Deuteronomy 7:7-11 and Luke 9& 10) He would not be dealing at all with Muslims, who do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God. The Roman Catholic Church and its worship of Mary and statues and pictures of Mary and saints is hated by Islam, as the RCC is considered a religion of idol worshippers. This is not going to go well for the RCC as their chief is in delirium.

No deception intended, he said what he said, and that was my only point. See also Romans 11:11, “…Did they (Jews) stumble so that they fell completely? Never may that happen! But by their false step there is salvation to people of the nations, to incite them to jealousy.” You are much too paranoid and should not be accusing someone of being a deceiver until proven. We who know the Bible well, know full well that Jesus was sent to save Jews, the people of God as per God’s promise to Abraham and Moses (Deuteronomy 7:6-11), and the door was opened to us Gentiles when some Jews rejected Jesus as the Son of God. (Romans, entire chapter 11).

No Pope will call out any religion. The turn the other cheek doctrine is suicidal and of couorse sacrificial which is ingrained in Catholicism. Checking one’s premises is not in their vocabulary.

        • eduardo odraude says

          Dec 17, 2016 at 8:50 pm

The “turn the other cheek doctrine” is perhaps only suicidal if misunderstood. It need not mean you turn your cheek when others are attacked. Nor must it mean you stand by and do nothing if aggressors attack your family, your friends, your nation, or innocents in general. Perhaps it does mean that one can function without hate even if one in self-defense may have to kill to stop an aggressor and defend innocent life. Finally, it seems to mean that if one is seeking to propagate Christianity, one cannot use force for that purpose.

    Pope: “Jesus was an immigrant.”

Does he mean Jesus was responsible for the rape crisis in Sweden? The sexual assaults in Germany?

Surely he meant to say “Mohammed was an immigrant.” Mohammed encouraged his henchmen to rape the wives of captured enemies. He then invented Quran 4:24 to justify it.

The Gospel of Matthew tells us that the parents of Jesus were warned to flee from an evil dictator who has singled him out to be killed. Jesus and his family fled to Egypt and little more was heard of him till it was safe to return home which they did. There was no mass migration and I am certain Joseph and Mary had to pay their own way and support themselves in Egypt. Also there is no record of any of the Holy family breaking the laws of Egypt or interfering with the social norms of their host country.

The Pope’s statement that Jesus was an immigrant is not valid.

        Dec 17, 2016 at 8:20 am

And the interesting thing is, that our parish priest in a sermon once pointed out that at the time of Jesus’ birth (and indeed for some centuries before), there was a *very* large diaspora Jewish community in Alexandria, Egypt. It was scholars from that community that had already translated the Septuagint – the first Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures.

There were *thousands* – probably hundreds of thousands – of Jews liviing in Egypt. And it’s perfectly possible that they were in communication with the Jews who, like Joseph and Mary’s families, had remained in the ancestral homeland. Joseph and Mary would have gone to their *own* kin, in Egypt; they would have been sure of hospitality, and of the opportunity for Joseph, a carpeneter, to earn his way. And… they would have been able to ‘disappear’, like straws in a huge pile of straw.

Well, Limbaugh is *sort of* on the right track (no pun intended). His speech reads well right up until he says, “the left has just infected everything that it has touched.”

Sorry, but stupidity is a non-partisan affliction. People from the far left through progressives through liberals through Classic Liberals (one right here) through moderates through Reagan Republicans through neo-conservatives through the Tea Party/Far Right Wing have no “ownership” of stupidity.

The similarity that Abp. Bergoglio (aka “Francis”) wants to draw between the Holy Family and the jihadists is simply…ridiculous. Stupid, if you will.

Liberal socialism is always stupid politically speaking.

I have liberal friends and family who contribute and are decent Americans (shit who am I kidding up grew up in and live in the SF bay area). I know liberalism like a Muslim knows Islam.
Problem is they are the least thoughtful most self centered people that I know full of all kinds, xenophobic judgements and blanket statements and uninformed comments about politics and lack the most amount of common sense I’ve ever seen in my life. They love to ridicule everything and it is toxic I hate being exposed to it.
If anyone liberal would even reason with me without getting emotional I would not have the motivation to post this. Obama is God and perfect but Trump is the devil no matter what in their view.

Summary -Liberlism is a mental disorder some are more afflicted than others and it took me the first 24 years of my life (47 now) to figure that Liberals and some smooth talkers like Obama have been trying to teach me to hate my own country and that we should be like Europe. It makes me sick rant over.

The sanctimonious, supposedly “neutral” BBC is the worst. Sad, because they used to be the world standard for broadcast excellence.
The BBC was disgusting the way they fawn on Obama, and reported the US Presidential election obviously favouring Clinton and demonizing Trump. They regularly admire Muslim family values, and denigrate the backwards Catholic Church and anyone else who is not pro-abortion, pro-sodomite, pro-euthanasia, pro-PC. What is disgusting is that with some heroic exceptions, the UK Bishops have drunk the cool-aid and are as “wet” as the BBC.

The Left in out times, Cynthia, gets almost everything wrong. The Right, by comparison, comes out rather well here——except for its lack of guts in pointing out all the many errors of the Left. As I have asserted here at JW before, the modern Left has lost its collective mind (think, for instance, Pelosi, Hillary and Obama here) and the modern Right has lost its collective guts (think, for instance, McCain, Romney and Ryan here). This to a large extent explains why Donald Trump won the Presidency because regular folks in the tens of millions are sick of both the Left and the Right, though for mostly different reasons, as I have already indicated..

Hey, Pope Francis is a South American Jesuit, and was formed in that milieu of (condemned) “Liberation Theology” and the heresy of Modernism– which teaches that the Church must “update” unchangable church doctrine to “harmonise” with the fickle fads of the zeitgeist.
This Pope is the creature of the NWO, and that’s why he is 1) so popular with the MSM and 2) tearing his Church apart: He’s a bad shepherd, and his flock are suffering for it. Superficially he “talks the talk” but doesn’t “walk the walk”.
This Pope deliberately, in his folksy way, throws doubt on clear Church teaching and sows confusion. He puts down and criticzes good Cardinals and bishops who rightfully request he clarify his daring ambiguities about Church teaching. Confusion is the hall-mark of the devil.

You may want to read Revelation (Apocalypse) chapter 17 and chapter 18, with special attention to verses 4 & 5, in the Bible. The church has been making up its own rules in opposition to those of God for a very long time; it’s time to take a look at Jesus’ teachings in the book of John in the Bible. As a former Catholic I certainly hope you will seek and find the truth; it is well worth your time.

Mary and Joseph were not homeless. In Bethlehem they were travelers, and all the lodging places were full.
They returned home after, with Jesus, before fleeing for safety, temporarily. Again, they returned to their home afterward.
Joseph was a self-employed carpenter, they were quite able to support themselves.

      Exactly.

And in Egypt, as I’ve pointed out above, there was a *huge* diaspora Jewish community of long standing (in Alexandria), amongst whom they could surely have found relatives, hospitality, and employment for Joseph’s carpentry skills. So even the sojourn in Egypt was not comparable to that of people who move to entirely different countries where they don’t know anyone, don’t speak the language, etc.

One may also remember that at the time both Judea and Egypt were provinces of the Roman Empire. Mary and Joseph went from one part of the Empire to another. It’s not as if they fled to Scythia or Hibernia.

Congrats to Robert Spencer for hanging in while the going was rough. I predict that will change radically in the Trump presidency.

It is often forgotten that the Syrian refugees were not mainly housed in tent cities, but in actually homes and apartments. They were in no danger in neighboring countries and being so close to their homes, they could even go back and forth to attend weddings and funerals. Moreover, when Syria returns to peace upon the defeat of ISIS, the refugees will mostly want to return to Syria. In addition, Syrian refugees in neighboring countries will experience no culture shock.

Many of the refugees in Europe have already showed that they are hostile if not deadly to the nations that took them in. There is wide-spread hatred of Western countries be Muslims. They hate the entire free philosophy of the West, but love the prosperity that is the direct result of freedom, the rule of law and free market economy.

The pope’s silly, maudlin, sentimental, Pollyanna philosophy will lead to tragic and very deadly results for Europe. The pope’s naivety will lead to much blood shed. Meanwhile, Christians are still the most persecuted people on earth, something the pope is ignoring much to the shame of the entire persecuted church which looks to the pope to SPEAK OUT FOR THEM!

Similar thought process is followed by muslims in europe, us etc. Where they think it is pre ordained that islam will eventually take over and when time comes they will rise up and enslave or kill all non muslims..

Societies that reach high civility were ultimately over run by barbarians.. afraid for Sweden, France etc.

India was the most vulnerable when it reached the heights of its civility with influence of buddhism spread all the way to Afghanistan… which is when the islamic barbarians made in roads and ever since it has been a perpetual war against the Hindus to submit…. 1300+ years on and the fight is still on…

They might have taken afghanistan, pakistan, bangladesh from us… main land india is a different story…. we have no where else to go and every turn coat and traitor islamist will not remain if they ever dare to start a mass jihad in Hindustan…..

Islam may have overrun middle east, north africa, iran, afghanistan, indonesia, caususses, central asia etc. In a few years… but never will they get Hindustan! Even if they try for another 1400 years…..

Only Jesus was not an immigrant, and nor were Joseph and Mary homeless.

Joseph and Mary went for the census, from Nazareth (apparently Mary’s home town) to Bethlehem which it explicitly says was Joseph’s own town. In all the gospel narratives, there is no stable and no inn (the word used is ‘kataluma’ which equals ‘guest room’.). But there was a manger. The whole story of Joseph and Mary arriving in Bethlehem, finding no place to stay, and being shown into a stable where Jesus was born that same night, has no grounding in the narrative.

Luke’s narrative says, chapter 2 (NIV) ‘[3] And everyone went to his own town to register. [4] So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. [5] He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. [6] While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, [7] and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.’

There is no exclusion here. There is no drama of no place to stay. Nor was a there the night-of-arrival birth of Jesus. Just, ‘While they were there the time came for the baby to be born.’

Middle Eastern peasant houses were typically one room with a sunken area at one end to accommodate at night any animals the family had. And in the floor of the living area, alongside the animal section was a feeding trough. If a family had gathered a bit of wealth, they may have put on a guest room, as in this case. However the guest room was full of something because there was no room in it, so Mary had Jesus in the family room, the place where most babies of the time were born and laid in the manger as most babies would have been.

Whose house was it? We’re not told but I suspect it was Joseph’s parents home. It was after all his home town and was no doubt the house that he had been brought up in. Perhaps he had also lain as a baby in that very same manger.

Yes,Jesus was a refugee into Egypt. He stayed there with parents until it was safe for him to Go Back and contribute to his homeland. His parents did not take weapons with them; they were not on the Egyptian welfare system; they did not try to change the laws of Egypt; they blended in with the folks. Importantly though, he did not overstay his welcome. On the contrary, should Muslims want to live in the USA and elsewhere they should blend in and when peace returns in their countries go back to bring about positive change. Unfortunately this is not case that is proffered here…instead as it unfolds sometimes furtively and at other times boldly Muslims demand change in their guest Countries, refer to Italia where streets are wrested form the indigenous people and turned into de jure mosques…Mecca and Medina are no go areas for none Muslims and elsewhere you practice what you preach only if you want to become a martyr

There will never be peace in their countries. Due to different views. As how to appointl the leader.nted. A direct relative to their Prophet, a sign from Allah or elected and how?
One group seeking revenge for caliph Ali in 661 after Christ being murdered. This causes constant enmity between different muslim groups.
Spreding islam instead of returning once there is peace. Also regarding all ground they once stand on as their own.

As far as I can recall, Joseph did not rape the local female population in Egypt. The bible is actually silent on the family’s sojourn in Egypt, but we can be sure they did not behave as the barbarian Muslims who are now invading Europe. They stayed a while, and returned to their home when it was deemed safe. There is nothing which says they were homeless, rapists, thieves or murderers.

This is another result of the separating themselves from the Eastern Church in 954 AD. The Roman church wanted power and centralized it in one fallible human being. Jesus Christ is the only head of the Church period. All the bishops including Peter were equal but Peter held a primacy of honor not more authority.
After fifty years of being a Roman Catholic I came into the Eastern Orthodox Church because it has been consistent from the beginning in not deviating from the truth.

Mary and Joseph were not “homeless”. The Romans set it up when they told everyone to turn up at his Birth Place for the Census (a Sin, BTW) which they used for taxation purposes. The result was the town filling up with travelers. Joseph was a carpenter which was a skilled craft, in other words, middle class-not “homeless”.
