Turkey: Muslim screaming “Allahu akbar” murders Russian ambassador at photo exhibit

Dec 19, 2016 12:23 pm By Robert Spencer

The Russian ambassador has died. Note that the assassin is making the one-finger-upraised signal that has come to signify allegiance to the Islamic State. It is widely rumored that Erdogan is actively supporting the Islamic State, so this could be taken in Moscow as an act of war against Russia — and that could escalate quickly.

“Gunman opens fire on Russian ambassador to Turkey at exhibit,” AP, December 19, 2016:

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — A gunman opened fire on Russia’s ambassador to Turkey at a photo exhibition on Monday. The Russian foreign ministry confirmed he was shot, but did not immediately say anything about his condition.

Turkish police shot and killed the gunman, Turkish station NTV reported.

The ambassador, Andrei Karlov, was several minutes into a speech at the embassy-sponsored exhibition in the capital, Ankara, when a man wearing a suit and tie shouted “Allahu Akbar” and fired at least eight shots, according to an AP photographer in the audience. The attacker also said some words in Russian and smashed several of the photos hung for the exhibition. There was panic as people ran for cover. NTV said three other people were wounded in the attack….

Some years ago a trade publication for the mortgage business had an ad. Pictures of two men. One in a well cut suit and tie. The other looking like a Hell’s Angel.

      The caption
Which one cannot be trusted. Is a thief.

Answer. Well dressed man. White collar bank thief.

White collar criminals (bankers, etc.) steal more…some estimate as much as 50x’s more each year than do conventional criminals (robbery, burglary, etc.).

One can’t tell a thief by his clothing, but if he is moslim, he should not be trusted in any case.

I had a beautiful Turkish Van Cat, he was NUTS as a bed bug, and suddenly died of massive cardiac arrest, at a young age of 4. Trying to replace him with another Turk means dealing with the Turks,,,,OMG!!! Forget that, so I adopted a sane and beautiful Maine Coon cat.. God Bless America!!

They don’t really like Islam also there is a region on China which is Muslim and they blame Chinese for not giving them jobs, the reason, they are almost illiterate.Of course, since some think education is haram mainly if it contradicts their Quran or if it is not from an Islamic school.

Done on the same day of the electoral vote….very strange….to change election….very clever…very ominious but not surprising on the last days before our election.. ….this is very fightening after all the accusations toward Russia and I hope it does not escalate to create any changes on election and the relations.

Wasn’t it a moslim shooting king Ferdinand that started WWI? When the world was in much the same condition before the assassination as it is today, all it took was one guy being murdered to set off the first world war.

    What will Putin do?

      > Wasn’t it a moslim shooting king Ferdinand

No, but Ferdinand was on a visit to an area where a lot of Muslims lived (Bosnia). The shooter was a Serb, wanting to motivate a detachment of Bosnia from Austro-Hungarian Empire. Instead, the Austrians used the murder as an excuse to start the war with Serbia, to their estimate, weak at that moment, obviously not understanding that this would result in the world war: Germany declared war to Russia, then to France… the battles started…

Thanks. I’ve read of the shooting of the Archduke and his wife several times…in a schoolroom and out, and it never quite clicks who wanted what and where, but I know they were killed to begin a conflict. And the ottoman was involved. I thought I had read somewhere or heard that the black hand gang was moslim.

        • rara says

          Dec 19, 2016 at 2:04 pm

          No, it’s subtler than that:

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Archduke_Franz_Ferdinand_of_Austria

“The political objective of the assassination was to break off Austria-Hungary’s South Slav provinces so they could be combined into a Yugoslavia. The assassins’ motives were consistent with the movement that later became known as Young Bosnia.”

Bosnia was even 100 years ago split between three religions. The units which fought for Austrians was composed of the local population:

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnian-Herzegovinian_Infantry

“In January 1913 31.4% of NCOs and other ranks were Muslims, 39.8% Serbian Orthodox and 25.4% Roman Catholic.”

How the Austrians got the control there around 30 years earlier:

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austro-Hungarian_rule_in_Bosnia_and_Herzegovina

“Bosnia and Herzegovina fell under Austro-Hungarian rule in 1878 when the Congress of Berlin approved the occupation of the Bosnia Vilayet, which officially remained part of the Ottoman Empire. Three decades later, in 1908, Austria-Hungary provoked the Bosnian crisis by formally annexing the occupied zone, establishing the Condominium of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the joint control of Austria and Hungary.”

While I’m saddened about this, it has been much reported on that Chechen Russians have carried out assassinations in Turkey of Chechen dissidents, There are Russian enclaves in Turkey, Turkey really is hanging on by a thread.

This Jewish Turkish female author was assassinated last week in Turkey as well; Beki İkala Erikli, read up on her. The region is exploding.

But when Syria and Iran, both sponsored by Russia, attacked US forces in Iraq; I didn’t hear this much outcry.

Another act of classic Islam. Make no mistake, such violence IS what Islam promotes and requires, and as such is not “extremist” in the least. There is no extreme version of Islam, for Islam IS an extreme, violent, corrupt, rebelious religious/political system. Allah has hatred for women, children, non-Muslims, and even for his own followers. The truest display of all the evil aspects of Satan himself are found in all of Islam, and there is no peaceful version of Islam in the world.

    Isn’t the video strange?

9 (at least I counted 9) rounds from a 9 mm (I assume) pistol at less than 10 yards? At that range each shot would have hit the target, and with FMJ ammunition would have likely over penetrated into what would appear to have been an audience. Are there casualties in the audience?

Where is the blood on the nice white floor and walls?
Where are the spent casings why are they not on the floor?
Why was the assailant standing alone behind the target?

Seems kind of strange to me.

the guy was on the protection details. I think that is safe to assume. It probably was a 45 ACP hollow point. The ambassador it dead from shock, the heart stops beating at once, no blood pressure, the little blood that leaves stays in the body.

Erdogan will face a very unhappy Putin, that is for sure.

          Dec 19, 2016 at 5:33 pm

I can agree on the .45 ACP HP ammunition.

But there are a few things that seem strange to me. For example, with a compact pistol like that he started with something like 10 + 1 rounds. He fired off 9 and then started with the Allahu Akbar crap.
I didn’t see him change mags why no mag change?
Why are there no casings on the ground?

Also, given recent events in Turkey and the fact that both Turkey and Russia are on opposite sides of a hot war:
Why was he the only person protecting the victim why on note have two which would seem more typical?
Moreover why was a single *Turkish* security agent protecting a *Russian* ambassador?

I am also still wondering about the lack of blood coming from a victim with 9 rounds in him. HP ammo or not I find that strange.

Taken in context with the several attacks in Ankara, Istanbul and the Turkish coup attempt this story just seems a little too strange.

This is just more proof that US policy in the region is clearly off of touch with reality.

We are swimming in a sea that is populated by Russia, Turkey, Kurds, Gulenists, Hizbolla, Iranians, Syrians, MB linked/sponsored Sunni jihadists, and Saudi Arabia.

We are aligned with (and providing military/financial support to) the Turkey, Saudi, Muslim Brotherhood Axis. Why? Because of vestigial cold war era alliances with Saudi and Turkey which have long since lost their value, and have become dangerous.

The policy that put us in this alignment with the forces of Sunni Jihad is being led and driven by a fool that actually admitted (with a straight face) on international TV (CNN) that he was blindsided by “ISIL”. He does not even know the name of this component of the “enemy” (which he has actually aligned with).

Not to put too fine of a point on it but: we are aligned with the allies of the Islamic State against Russia in this conflict.

Obama did tell Russia to stop saying mean things and spreading “lies”. So there is that.

We have no national interest in being in any way involved in a conflict of any kind on the side of Sunni Jihadists and against Russia.

No matter how many pictures of little boys in Aleppo go viral, we have no national interest in this Sunni/Shiite sectarian conflict. Despite how bad Asad is he would appear to be better than the alternative(s).

This video – shot in a NATO country supposedly depicting the alleged assassination of a Russian Ambassador in what might be an “Archduke Moment” punctuates the stupidity of our current policy and alignment.

The other thing that punctuated this stupidity was the “suicide bombing” (it was a Murder Bombing) this weekend which involved a 7 year old girl at a Damascus police station. I wonder if pictures of this girl (now dead) will go viral like that little boy (still alive) in Aleppo did.
