One might almost get the crazy idea that jihad terrorism had something to do with Islam, were it not for all the learned imams such as Pope Francis and John Kerry who assure us it isn’t so.
“Two Derby terror suspects are ‘strict Muslims who fell out with neighbour for wearing shorts,'” Derby Telegraph, December 19, 2016:
A refugee who says he lives below the home where two Derby men were arrested for alleged terror offences said they were strict Muslims who fell-out with him for wearing shorts.
Haji Ahmadi said he “had the shock of his life” when he discovered his neighbours in Leopold Street had been held in a major anti-terror probe in which six people were arrested – four were from Derby.
Mr Ahmadi has lived on the ground floor of the home for five months and the former Afghan soldier said two of the four city men who have been arrested lived there when he arrived.
He said he had a dispute with them not long after he had moved in. Mr Ahmadi, who returned home on Thursday evening for the first time since the police swoop last Monday, said: “There were two men who lived above the house and they have been arrested and have not come back.
“I had been at a friend’s house when the raids happened and I returned in the morning to be told I could not go anywhere near the home and everywhere was cordoned-off.
“I spoke to the two men a couple of times but they didn’t like me. I am a Muslim but I am quite relaxed. I believe in mixing with people and integrating with society.
“They did not like me though. They said I had to be a strict Muslim. They did not like me wearing my shorts in the summer, even though I didn’t think there was anything wrong with it at all.
“Whenever we did speak, they were always talking about religion.”
He said he believed the men were from Eritrea and Somalia. He added: “Thursday night was the first night that I managed to get back inside my house. It’s been a really strange and surreal situation. I’m still in shock that they have made the arrests and they live just feet away from my front door. It’s crazy.
“It’s not something I expected when I came to the UK. I wanted a quiet and peaceful life.”
Mr Ahmadi fled Afghanistan and came to the UK for a better life.
The flat, which Mr Ahmadi says is controlled by private security company G4S, has a notice board on the ground floor which had a rota for prayers at the Masjid Assalaam Mosque, in Pear Tree Road, Normanton. He said he does not attend it.
Kanan Ibrahim, who is a trustee of the mosque, said the two men could have visited. He said: “It’s possible but I don’t know them. I have been here since 1999 and we do everything we can to stop extremism and radicalisation in the city.
“We have prayers on a Friday and we can get around 600 to 800 people here praying. Our message is one of tolerance. We want to live in peace and harmony – that is what we teach. Every single day, we talk about the importance of being together and living a good positive life.”…

Even if he is not lying now, there’s no assurance that he won’t eventually become as “strict” as his neighbours.

OK, so I’ll to remember not to wear my Bermuda Shorts if ever I take a train to Derby next summer. Perhaps they’d also like my wife to cover her face (I won’t say anything about the mother-in-law). I’ve remembered not to take a bacon sandwich into any park in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets (that will no doubt please Mayor Khan). If any of our loyal patriotic muslim fellow-UK-citizens from Bradford or Leicester, or Luton (or anywhere else in the UK where I might be forgiven for thinking I need my passport) is reading this, could you let me know what I’m not supposed to do in your neighbourhoods? You KNOW we don’t want to upset you!

You must never walk your dog anywhere in those neighbourhoods .

A shorts wearing open minded individual can become an ugly islamic robe wearing bearded radical overnight. Must not trust Mozlems.

A difference of view there. What does the Koran say?
“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him.”

The message is one of tolerance – zero tolerance.

I would echo the comments of others.
There is no guarantee that a muslim who wears shorts won’t suddenly become more ‘pious’ and decide to murder some infidels for ‘allah’.
A religion that exhorts it’s adherents to murder non-muslims is an ever constant danger to civilised people. No muslim can *ever* be trusted; whether he wears shorts, or striped socks and spats.

The great thing about the past years of’ Islamic terrorist attacks and institutional atrocities (like cutting off heads, throwing people off buildings, stonings, burning people alive, etc.) is that an ever increasing number of non-Muslims are becoming aware of and educated about the true teaching of Islam. The sad aspect of these same things (beyond the obviously brutal loss of life) is that any Muslim who truly does want to live in peace with his non-Muslim neighbor must be viewed with suspicion and caution.
