Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Fort Lauderdale shooter was “Aashiq Hammad” on MySpace, recorded Islamic music

Jan 7, 2017 3:45 pm By Robert Spencer

This Chicago Tribune article confirms that Fort Lauderdale shooter Esteban Santiago is from Penuelas, Puerto Rico, and has a brother named Bryan. Why aren’t establishment propaganda journalists asking Bryan about Aashiq Hammad?

“BREAKING: #FortLauderdale Terrorist #EstebanSantiago Joined MySpace As ‘Aashiq Hammad’, Recorded Islamic Music,” GotNews, January 7, 2017:

Fort Lauderdale Airport terrorist Esteban Santiago registered on MySpace under the name “Aashiq Hammad” and recorded Islamic religious music on the site, 3 years before he ever deployed to Iraq as a U.S. soldier, destroying the lying mainstream media’s narrative that he was just a mentally disturbed veteran and that “Islam had nothing to do with it.”

Here’s how we know all that:

A search of public records database Nexis reveals that Puerto Rican Esteban Santiago has a brother named Bryan Santiago and two e-mails registered to his name:

naotaemail

The second e-mail, “Naota33@hotmail.com”, is how GotNews exclusively visually identified Santiago before every mainstream media outlet and discovered he was posting on an explosives/weapons forum about mass-downloading Islamic terrorist propaganda videos in 2007 yesterday.

Today, we discovered the first e-mail, “Naota017@gmail.com”, in the MySpace database that was leaked earlier this year. This is the raw data we found:

211355052:naota017@gmail.com:aashiqhammad:0x313afa5189c150b7b0f3e6d39e0fa223f88ec42b:

The middle entry “aashiqhammad” can be added to the MySpace URL to discover the profile that was registered to the e-mail address “Naota017@gmail.com”.

Sure enough, Esteban Santiago registered a MySpace account under the name “Aashiq Hammad”:

Archive here.

“Aashiq Hammad” lists Penuelas, Puerto Rico as his location, just like Esteban Santiago’s records in Nexis.

And take a look at the three songs recorded by “Aashiq Hammad.” The first one is titled “La ilaha illAllah”, which is Arabic for “There is no God but Allah,” and the first half of the Muslim declaration of faith, the Shahadah…

Archive here.

If the location and e-mail weren’t enough proof, “Aashiq Hammad” also has Bryan Santiago — Esteban’s brother — as a connection:

    Wow
That’s some good sleuthing. I wonder if law enforcement will pursue it. The media surely won’t cover it. His trial will be quiet. We’ll probably not hear any more about it.

You forget Infidel: There’s a new Sheriff in town. So his trial will not ‘be quiet’.

Of course you are right, the MSM surely won’t cover it. But our [soon to be legitimate again] DOJ certainly will. Because they’ll have already stripped all the muslim brotherhood affiliates of their tax-free status. Beginning with CAIR and their murdering leaders.

Indeed this is great sleuthing! Funny how it’s only our Pam, or Robert, or BNI who discovers these things.

None of this makes any sense if this guy was “nuts”, he would have done something out in Alaska, not take a 5 hour flight to Florida, and pick an AIRPORT…. Is it Jan. 20th yet??

Don’t read too much into a man’s taste in music.

From a largely classically liberal, but also libertarian and ‘individualist anarchist’ anti-Islamic activist in Canada

You conservatives really get to me sometimes. Which is why I really don’t interact much with the counter-jihad movement.

I very much like the melody, beat and even the lyrics of the Sabri Brothers from Pakistan. Two of my favourites (aesthetically, not politically) extol the virtues of Mohammed and the iti-jihad (in fact, it is a very martial sounding song).

So, don’t become ridiculous, a caricature, reactionaries. Next, we’ll be suspect for wearing Palestinian scarves or eating fatoush.

I am committed to seeing political Islam destroyed (now, everywhere, forever and totally) but beginning by not having Shariah-compliant swims in public facilities and supporting a Donald Trump-style moratorium on Muslim immigration. But I am also a civil libertarian dedicated to the personal freedoms: to read bloodthirsty books (including the Sira) and possessing politically-incorrect images, drugs of any kind and private ownership of weapons (where I differ with most of my liberal friends). No victim = no crime. PERIOD.

Sometimes the alt-right and conservatives within and without the counter-jihad movement are a huge embarrassment to freedom-loving people who just want to see the reduction (at first) of Islamization in the West. I am the first to say that my two positions are not contradictory: stop all Muslim immigration (with a few exceptions, such as Ismailis) and ALSO do not criminalize offensive expressions of ideas, even ‘hate speech’, such as the flying of the flag of ISIS or bumper stickers that read “Most Muslims don’t follow the example of Mohammed… that’s the good news”–both of which could be construed to be illegal in Canada.

Instead of trying to control the problem once too many Muslims are in Canada, just don’t let them in. If they are already here and they commit acts of coercion-send them home, send them away. I don’t care if they end up on an ice flow in the arctic: they don’t belong here. Let the myriad of ideas and images (including the crazy and violent ones like those in the Koran and Hadith) be judged by the marketplace. But stop them at the ‘Gates of Ottawa’ and if they or anyone lifts *one finger* let them be prosecuted or better exiled from Canada forever.

The West doesn’t have to become a police state in order to defend against Islam, it just needs to control borders and perhaps (haven’t thought this one through yet) decriminalize private armies taking on ISIS. Canadians and others went in 1936 to Spain to fight fascist Franco, religious nuts are now joining ISIS, but where is the mercenary (non-tax-funded) and volunteer (billionaire-funded) force fighting ISIS in Syria? Governments are too slow! In the early 20th century poets George Gordon Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley fought in the Greek revolution against the Ottoman (Muslim) Turks. They raised money, bought weapons and arranged shipping them at the very least. Where are the Sikh and Buddhist and Christian and secular warriors today? I think it’s time we stopped depending on the State (any state) to fight a non-state enemy.

But let’s begin by not becoming total idiots. I will keep my sufi music because I like the sound of it. And I may very well continue my publicity campaign by creating a T-shirt of the shahadah flag, with a critical comment about ISIS. We don’t want a sort of Nazi State to replace inroads by Islamism. Don’t be gung-ho to replace one kind of facism with another. We want a society of liberty. This is my take anyway.

One gets the impression that the counter-jihad movement is populated by evangelical Christian jingoist ultra-conservatives. I just want to make it clear that not all of us fit that mould. And I might just move on over to Gates of Vienna because I get tired of the moronic comments here on Jihadwatch and BarenakedIslam.

Short story: This guy with the Hispanic name could very well be a jihadi. Or not. But stop this absurd insinuation of there being a connection between Islamic music with killing of five people. That is like saying porn causes rape or reading of the merciless slaughter of civilians by the Hebrews at the insistence of their desert god (see GOD ON TRIAL) means the Bible should be banned.

      Jan 7, 2017 at 5:26 pm

You need to better understand Islam. You need to step outside of yourself and try to understand the ideology from their perspective, not yours. That’s what Jihad Watch tries to do. If you say that flying the flag of ISIS is freedom of expression, you have no yet understood the threat. Like you, I believe in freedom for all. However I don’t believe that those who would take our freedoms away deserve to live under those freedoms.

Honestly, take a step back and get a deeper understanding of the threat and the ideology. Look at history. They play the long game and their “strength” to do so is rooted in their evil ideology.

There are many Atheists as well as people of various non-Muslim faiths on JW (and other sites like BNI). We all have one thing in common: We want to live peacefully without the threat of hearing “Allahu Akbar” and then seeing innocent lives taken.

I hope Hermes will continue to do more research. The best way to make someone understand the threat that is hovering over our heads is to eventually see the pattern.

I live very close to FLL airport. When this happened I knew eventually the ties to Islam would surface. And there will be more.

      ………………………….

Sure–I listen to a music show featuring records from the ’20s and ’30s. About a month ago, they showcased recordings from Egypt and Turkey. Not my favorite episode, but I listened, and with some interest.

But to pretend that a terrorist using a Muslim name and recording Islamic religious music is immaterial is ridiculous.

He also mentioned watching Islamic State videos–do you consider that immaterial, as well?

And your implication that it is only conservatives who oppose Jihad terror is ridiculous, as well–there are many here, including myself, who would not be considered typically conservative *except* for the fact that we oppose Jihad.

And no one has called for this music to be banned–just noted that Aasgiq Hammad’s use of a Muslim name and his recording Islamic religious music–coupled with his affinity for ISIS videos–likely point to motive in his act of terrorism.

      More:

I am committed to seeing political Islam destroyed (now, everywhere, forever and totally) but beginning by not having Shariah-compliant swims in public facilities and supporting a Donald Trump-style moratorium on Muslim immigration. ………………………….

Why would you have the idea that Jihad Watch is for censorship? Robert Spencer is a staunch defender of freedom of speech, and most of us here don’t want to see books like the Sira banned–instead, we want to see Infidels read them.

“Video: Robert Spencer on the jihad against the freedom of speech”

      https://www.jihadwatch.org/2016/12/video-robert-spencer-on-the-jihad-against-the-freedom-of-speech

In fact, you commented on that thread–but still seem convinced that Jihad Watch is calling for censorship. Why?

The idea that Jihad Watch is calling for “hate speech” laws is just ridiculous–Robert Spencer and other Jihad Watch contributors regularly speak out *against* such laws–how can you have missed that?

“Video: Robert Spencer on “hate speech,” the war on free speech, and Hillary Clinton”

      ………………………….

Who here has called for a police state? Jihad Watch regularly calls for the affirmation of freedom of speech and expression, and the rights of the individual. None of that sounds like a “police state” to me.

Where in the above story–or *any* story at Jihad Watch–find a call for “facism”?

This is all projection–there have been no such calls here.

Most of us oppose Islam because we want to defend our freedoms.

It wasn’t JUST listening to Islamic music, you jack@ss. The guy posed for a picture wearing a keffiyeh and using the one-finger salute that represents tawhid, he posted on an weapons forum in a thread about downloading Islamic terrorist propaganda, he told law enforcement that he was being forced to fight for ISIS, he named himself Aashiq Hammad, and the song he posted on Myspace was called La ilaha illAllah, which is the shahada. Now put all those things together and the conclusion is quite obvious. So, no, simpleton, this is not just about some guy listening to Islamic music.

Why should my taxes go to support a low lifer on his drug and sex habits which lead him to disease and death be supported by my tax money. And it’s Christians my friend who started this whole personal responsibility thing. Read back in the first 6 chapters of Genesis. And American history 101 in Rhode Island Baptist Colony. Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and render unto God the things that are God’s. A classical Liberal view of secular government and a free market place of religion where intellect and persuasion are acceptable and persuasion at the edge of a sword are not. This is why I reject the present secular humanist religion of evolutionism and its adjunct theology of Global warming/climate change. If we are just animals then having a mass shooting every once in a while is ok. Having sex with everyone and their pet is ok. AND NO RELIGION TOO? Global warmists reject the idea that mankind should have dominion over creation. That’s why they hate our society which was started on Judeo/Christian Biblical principles.

Good question, although I believe the two were not married.

She would certainly have insight regarding Esteban’s interests, activities, associations, etc…

I wonder if she knew of his intentions…

In fact, I’m sure there are a few folks in Alaska that could contribute to the Esteban Santiago puzzle.

3 yrs before enlistment, using a muslim name, singing muslim songs, assimilating into islam 3 yrs before he enlisted and went to Iraq. Anyone suppose the FBI knows this? Would it make any difference to them? He may still have PTSD but caused by an entirely different source of stress. Ash Maj Hasan.

    X-military, Spanish surname…..
Houston had a shooter like this last summer, Memorial Day-2016, who positioned himself on a corner and shot at everything in sight….250 rounds. (they kept it very quiet and it barely made the national news)
He was x-military, Spanish surname and 90% of his family was Muslim.

First witnesses said this man screamed “I’m not Jewish”

Houston shooter told one person that he wouldn’t kill her because she was “not Jewish” 90% of his family was Muslim as per one TV reporter who interviewed his Muslim family in Houston, but the info. never went national.

Robert’s doing the investigative work the mainstream media won’t do. The very first question anyone should ask is ; “is there an islamic angle here?” Clearly that is a possibility and the news that he used an Arabic alias on email is very significant.

so, an E3 EOD trained NATIONAL GUARD Puerto Rican has a MUSLIM MY SPACE ID, with ARABIC MUSIC, to please the masses, knocks up his girlfriend and beats her occasionally, just to maintain control & keep his faith with the SAND GOD OF CAMELS and no one notices. to prove he is a TRUE BELIEVER, he goes to FLORIDA, after fooling the FBI, out smarts the TSA & shoots a few targets in public. HOW MANY RED FLAGS does it take for WE THE PEOPLE to WAKE UP? JANUARY 20, 2017 seems so far away.

He looks more Muslim than Puerto Rican to me. He made a very bad choice to join The Dark Side AKA Islam.

Trump needs to establish laws to make it illegal to join The Dark Side.

When the FBI mentioned at the news conference that they did not rule out terrorism. It seems that they were already aware of this.
Granted, political correctness has gone to far. But let us all at this point in time allow the FBI to do their job. Let us not jump to conclusions this early before they have provided some sort of report.

I am sure we all knew Esteban Santiago converted to Islam before shooting up the Ft Lauderdale airport.

He was just being a good little Muslim.

No question this was an Islamic-inspired attack, but I still find it very baffling.

I still find no rhyme or reason to travel from Alaska to Fort Lauderdale to shoot up an airport. Florida already got a direct hit at The Pulse in Orlando.

I’m not convinced that the airport was targeted due to Fort Lauderdale boasting a heavily Jewish population. Remember…this flight came in from Minneapolis, MN…not NY or NJ…

    http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/US-Israel/usjewpop.html

I am NOT trying to be insensitive to the senseless loss of five lives or those wounded/traumatized in the attack, but an airport terminal sure is a stupid place to wage jihad. Santiago wasn’t well-armed for a mass-scale massacre. Baggage claim may very well be the most unsecured area of an airport, but his victims were likely on the same flight. They shared the same baggage claim area.

MY THEORY AT THE MOMENT…there’s been scattered reports that Santiago “argued” with at least one passenger on the flight from Minneapolis to Fort Lauderdale. He may very well have “snapped” if an altercation actually transpired, aware always he would have access to his firearm upon landing and retrieval.

I’m just trying to think out loud here, folks. If Santiago wanted to target Jews, he needed only to hop to Canada or Oregon and strike a synagogue, Jewish nursing home…whatever. SO many of my (non-Jewish) friends head to the Fort Lauderdale area this time of year to escape the wrath of the New England weather.

I gave this theory some serious thought. I didn’t pull it out of my ass…

The vilest of all creatures (mohamedans) don’t just want to kill Jews. They’re very satisfied with killing Christian and Buddhists … toss in an atheist of two. Remember Q8:55 The vilest animals are disbelievers.

How’d you arrive at the Jewish angle? Pull it out of your …?

I don’t think he was necessarily targeting Jewish people, Ashley.

But this *was* pre-planned. He had no luggage *except* for his gun–nothing else was packed. And he had no round-trip ticket, so this was not a quick-turnaround. He intended to shoot people when he left Alaska.

Aashiq Hammad is his chosen name after converting to Islam years ago – He is a lone wolf Islamic Terrorist. Everything else was a coverup. Check Judicial Watch and others. AS OF the 10th MSM is still covering it up.
