Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Trump affirms support for Egypt’s fight against terror in phone call with Sisi

Jan 23, 2017 5:05 pm By Robert Spencer

Sisi’s regime isn’t perfect. Muslims are still brutalizing Christians in Egypt, and the government has done little to protect this despised and defenseless minority. At the same time, Sisi is a bulwark against political Islam in the Middle East. With Turkey rapidly re-Islamizing and the Islamic State still in the picture, that is important. So after the Obama administration’s unwavering support of the Muslim Brotherhood, this is most welcome.

“Trump, Sisi discuss fighting terrorism in phone call,” Reuters, January 23, 2017:

CAIRO (Reuters) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed ways to boost the fight against terrorism and extremism on Monday and the new American leader underscored his commitment to bilateral ties, the two countries said.

Trump told Sisi in a telephone call he appreciated the difficulties faced by Egypt in its “war on terror” and affirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the country, Sisi’s spokesman Alaa Youssef said in a statement.

“The U.S. president also expressed during the call his looking forward to the president’s awaited visit to Washington which is being prepared for through diplomatic channels,” the statement said.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer told a news briefing that Trump and Sisi “discussed ways to deepen the bilateral relationship and support Egypt’s fight against terrorists.”

“President Trump underscored the United States remains strongly committed to the bilateral relationship, which has helped both countries overcome challenges in the region for decades,” Spicer added.

He said Trump indicated he was committed to ensuring that U.S. military assistance to Egypt effectively supports the Egyptian military’s fight against terrorism….

Does that mean that church burnings and the murder of Christians will cease?

Oh well, one can but dream….

If US support is made conditional on the Egyptian Government protecting ALL it’s citizens, just see how fast that cathedral gets rebuilt.

      Same approach needed to Pakistan.

After the Muslim Brotherhood was kicked out by El Sisi, Hillary Clinton and Obama stopped all aid to Egypt. I don’t know if it was restored, but it is a great bargaining chip. In the case of Pakistan, all aid should be immediately stopped until they release the doctor who helped us locate Bin Laden. He has been held in prison since then and Obama has done nothing to get him out. Money talks. It talks loudly to countries like Pakistan. We have given them money for years and there has been no improvement in Pakistani lives, but those in power are likely living high on the hog, excuse me, high on the goat, with it.

I am tired of hearing leftists say that Obama killed Bin Laden. He wasn’t there, he didn’t have any part of it except to reluctantly give the go ahead while he established plausible denial for himself in case it didn’t work. He is a Muslim himself, and a coward. But then, one goes with the other.

Phil, we can only hope and pray.. At least the Christian minority in Egypt will have some comfort that there is NO Muslim in the white house, who enables the crazy Islamic aggressive thugs to run a muck without consequence. If Egypt gets the message, protect and defend ALL other religions in your nation, or the money STOPS, you will see a change. With death sentence being handed out for Islamic terror, oh it will if not stop it, it will slow it down.

No, it won’t stop, DFD. All I can say is that things would be even worse for the poor Copts if the Muslim Brotherhood had stayed in power.

Perhaps Trump can at least push for more protection for Christians and other minorities in exchange for more support against “Islamists”.

Egypt is still playing a duplicitous game and ignoring the human rights of minorities. The taqiyya is non-stop in Egypt 24/7.

    Egyptians are still Sharia-holics.

      ” Sharia-holics”. love it

Minorities in Egypt and in the Muslim world in general don’t have any rights, human or otherwise because they are not regarded as human.

Non Muslims are animals, apes and pigs and the worst of people. Muslims are brain washed, almost from birth, to believe this so nothing will change for Egypt’s Coptic Christians.

It’s about time. Trump is acting in our nation’s best interest–unlike Barack Hussein Obama. Let’s do what Sisi’s Egypt has done–declare the Muslim Brotherhood and its fronts to be subversive organizations. Then use RICO laws to shut down their funding and enabling of terror.

not sure if neonnettle’s is fake news or satire, sadly Al-Baghdadi has not been captured or injured, this one is incorrect as is all their “news”.
When my foil hat is a little tight, i might say that this was intentional fakenews setup to embarrass those that shared it.

Preventing Jihad attacks here is more important I hope this helps keep “America first”. No one is hot on sending additional money, aid or soldiers anywhere unless there is a clear cut path to complete victory. Bull dozing mosques and de-legitimizing Islam in America is what we should be doing and work from inside to out. I’ll go back to dreaming now.
