In this new video, I discuss the career of the late former Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, and the reality behind the New York Times’ reporting on Iran’s “reform” movement.

Excellent video Robert Spencer. Please keep them coming.

Rafsanjani was not a ‘reformer’ any more than Albert Speer was a ‘reformer’ Nazi.

Mr. Spencer’s book on iran is an excellent one. Its despicable leadership contains no “moderates,” only hard core islamists determined to slaughter as many people as necessary to convert the entire planet into a vast islamic hellhole.

More fake news from the NYT, a combination of manipulation of public opinion and wishful thinking.
It is this “end times” predilection that makes Islam even more dangerous than the Communists or the Nazis. In the same way that the suicide bomber happily martyrs himself in order to kill a handful of unbelievers the mad Mullahs would welcome the destruction of their own nation if it means they were able to eliminate Israel. Everywhere will be a smoking radioactive ruins but the prophecy is fulfilled so they “won”. They also think Allah will give them special protection from consequences, which further spurs them on.
Just as they are un-appeaseable you cannot deter a martyr with a death wish.
An “extremist” wants 10,000 centrifuges spinning away in hidden caves, while a “moderate” will settle for 5,000.

Thanks for pointing out the difference between an “extremist” and a “moderate”!

I wonder if the NYT explains how Iran became the leading terrorism-sponsoring state in the world under Rafsanjani “reformer” nose?…

Yes, l can well believe that lran supported al queda just like saudi and saddam hussein would have. Hussein wanted some kind of arab league, with him at the helm. lf they hadn’t removed him and his psycho family, l think things would be a lot worse now [it was never about WMD’s, imo]..
l get sick of hearing about lslamic ‘reform’ when the majority support mainstream lslam [unswerving adherence to the lslamic text]. How can something be reformed when tens of millions believe koranic ideology is the final word, and can never be changed..

Yeah–what a joke.

Excellent, Mr. Spencer,
The Nisman/bombing of the AMIA/Rafsanjani Case in Argentina that you refer to was reopened in Dec, 2016 by order of the new president, Macri. They must have some proof that Nisman was murdered (not suicide) so the case was kicked to the Federal Court. The expresident Cristina Kirchner has been summoned to court and she has vowed she will not be silent. Sounds like she is not going to take the blame for covering up for Iran or her corrupt colleagues in the government during her tenure.
As you said, all this has been going on since 1994 and still no answer or resolution for all of the string of murders and impunity. The levels of corruption must be wide and deep. Fortunately, Rafsanjani was a moderate.

Barack Hussein Obozo ignored the real green revolution in 2009 because he had a secret agenda to facilitate the mullahs of Iran.
Had he supported the revolution Iran will be a free democratic nation today. Obama has done more damage in both the middle East as well as in the west during his two terms of presidency…. Good riddance to his stupid failed tenure as POTUS.
