Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Daily Mail defames Geert Wilders as “rabble rouser…wide boy of European politics”

Feb 5, 2017 5:36 pm By Robert Spencer

“Wide boy” is British slang for a man who is a flashy dresser and makes a living through disreputable dealings.

This is another example of why I have called the Daily Mail the worst publication in the Western world. The Guardian and the Washington Post and the New York Times and CNN and the like are increasingly open and obvious in their role as propaganda outlets for globalist internationalism and centers for the defamation of all who oppose their agenda, but the Daily Mail is something even worse. Its coverage of jihad terror attacks is often excellent, far surpassing that of most other outlets. But it routinely traffics in the basest smears against anyone who proposes to do something effective about the jihad terror threat. Here it is Geert Wilders’ turn.

You would think they would even stop and ask himself why the man lives under constant threat of assassination by Leftists or jihadists. No such luck. Instead, the Daily Mail implicitly validates the threats against him by smearing him as an unscrupulous con man.

One wonders if anyone in Britain will get a clue before the whole thing falls in on their heads.

“Rabble rouser who could be the next nail in EU’s coffin: Geert Wilders is the virulently anti-Islam,” by Sue Reid, Daily Mail, February 4, 2017:

Wearing spivvy shoes, a tight blue suit and a crooked smile, the wide boy of European politics strides into a room in the Dutch parliament building, flanked by armed security men.

He holds up a fat paperback entitled Anger, full of stories of ordinary folk worried about the kind of issues that swept Donald Trump to power in America.

‘Our people have been betrayed by politicians and want a new Patriotic Spring,’ he tells his audience, who nod enthusiastically.

This is Geert Wilders, the 53-year-old of part-Indonesian heritage with peroxide blond hair, who is turning Dutch thinking on its head. He is described by some as a rabid racist and has been convicted for inciting discrimination.

Once temporarily banned from Britain as ‘persona non grata’ by the Labour government, he lives under threat of assassination for his fiercely anti-immigration stance, and only this week tried (unsuccessfully) to plaster ‘Stop Islam’ adverts over Holland’s trams.

He is in such danger from Left-wing activists and Islamic militants that he often wears a bullet-proof vest and is guarded at a safe house round the clock.

He can only visit his wife Krisztina, a former Yugoslav diplomat, once a week at the family’s secret address because of security concerns. Nobody, he says with truth, would want his sort of life.

Yet next month there are national elections in the Netherlands — and Wilders’s Freedom Party is ahead in the polls and expected to win at least 20 per cent of the vote. It could be even higher.

One paunchy man listening on Thursday at the book launch admitted: ‘At first we dared not think like him or talk like him. Now many of us in Holland do both.’…

“Paunchy.” When did you last see the establishment propaganda media describe a jihad terrorist or Left-fascist or any of their supporters with the slightest derogatory term?

Trump’s lack of support, never mind outspoken, for these is rather strange, they were jubilant about him and his victory…

Geert Wilders is the best European politician of the 21st century as Winston Churchill was the best of the 20th century, Churchill knew right from the start that Nazism is a totalitarian heinous ideology and Geert Wilders kept warning people about the monstrosity of Islam. I also hope he’ll win and free the Netherlands and the rest of Europe from the evil of Islam.

BTW Robert is right about the Daily Mail, I read a very good article about the postcards showing a cute little puppy in a policeman’s hat that the Scottish police had distributed and that enraged the muzzies because they deem dogs unclean, as a matter of fact the pics aren’t unclean, but muzzies are utterly stupid. Anyway the Daily Mail is incapable of drawing the right consequences.

Interesting the Indonesian link being pushed by Reid. This may be plagiarised from the recent anti-Wilders article in the Spectator by Ian Buruma.
It makes no difference but is another less than subtle dig at Wilders ie ‘He’s a foreigner himself? How could he be so racist?’
Skewed logic but that is how the Mail works.

But these people as so stupid–totally devoid of the capacity to think logically.

The issue is not being of part foreign extraction but against the aggressive and violent doctrine of Islam.

There are Buddhists, Confucians, Hindus, Shintoists, Wiccans, etc. all living peacefully in Europe without a single thought of “slaying the unbeliever wherever you find them as part of the divine duty of every Muslim”.

I think it’s rather excellent–shows it’s possible to have a little bit of non-European heritage and yet still value European civilization. There’s a lot of people just like that–some of whom have majority non-European heritage. Mr Wilders and his party have never suggested that they want exclusively white or ‘Dutch-looking’ people in their country–just people who value its culture and values.

And suggest they try contacting the bloke, this ‘Steve Gern’, give him the chance to talk *directly* to the President and the Secretary of State and whoever’s in charge of immigration.

One hopes that *all* Americans who have served in Iraq – or in Somalia – or in any other of the ghastly hellholes of the dar al Islam, not forgetting Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia – will contact Trump’s team and share *their* stories of what the local Muslims were like, which I hazard the guess are not much different from Steve’s. Time to break the silence. Time to end the denial. *Muslims HATE Infidels… purely for being Infidels, nothing else*. So: keep ’em out. Keep ’em all out. You don’t want to let into your country thousands or milliions of people who are religiously programmed from birth to hate your guts.. especially when they’re also trained to pretend not to hate you, to deploy smiles and wiles and lure you into letting your guard down… in order to get the drop on you.

Unfortunately, the best he can hope for is 36%, in his own words. The article above say he may make 20%. How much can he do with a minority? I suppose the best he could do is be a part of a coalition government, but I think all the other parties there in Holland have said they would never include him in a coalition. From a quick check of Wikipedia, the two main parties hold the government. One has 40 seats and the other 35. An equal number of seats are held by 9 other parties and 8 independents. Pretty complicated situation.

IMO if Geert does not win, but if his party wins enough seats to make him the primary opposition leader then that too would be a great success. As the primary opposition leader, Geert’s criticisms of the [policies of] ruling party will be hard to ignore. Also, considering how effective a communicator he is, people will be specifically looking to see what he has to say. AND he will be able to do all this without any cost/risk to himself.

But if he wins outright then of course it would be the hardest blow to European Left.

The Daily Mail calls Geert Wilders “virulently anti-Islamic”.

I am an ex-Muslim living with Islam’s formal and informal death penalty for apostasy and I am wholeheartedly anti-Islamic. So what? Is it now a thought crime to take a disparaging view of Islam? Is it now a crime to voice ones disapproval of a religion that one does not respect and that teaches that those who leave it are to be put to death? Should I be expected to respect a religion that stipulates that I should be killed for simply wanting to leave it? I have broken no other law that Islamic law, therefore I am not a criminal.

President Trump should invite Geert Wilders and ex-Muslim Ayaan Hirsi Ali to the The White House to discuss the depredations of Islamic theology/ideology/law.

Saleem: at the Daily Mail it was one “Sue Reid” who wrote this hit-piece on Geert Wilders. Go to the original article, see if she has a ‘contact’ email, if so, email her and tell her exactly what you just wrote here. And send the Editor of the Daily Mail a letter to the same effect. Put them on the spot.

Quote them the Islamic scripture passages that prescribe Death for apostates. Refer them to Samuel Zwemer’s classic study “The Law of Apostasy in Islam” and Patrick Sookhdeo’s equally scholarly and well-referenced, but more up-to-date “Freedom to Believe: Challenging islam’s Apostasy Law”.

Ask them what is ‘virulent’ about criticising a belief system that imposes a death penalty on those who leave it.

An apt description, IMHO, of the two extremes is if Mr. Wilders is “the wide boy” then the Daily Mail would be the narrowest of news rags, an affront to its industry.
I detect jealousy of that sliming newpaper for the style Wilders has when he’s taking on the odds he’s been facing courageously.
The odds against Wilders have done their worst against him, yet here he comes waving the national flag of his nation.
He’ will be good for The Netherlands and negative to the EU, the entirely worse concept Europe ever knelt to allow in its long history.. May God bless him with the strength of purpose he has thus far displayed.

The DM doesn’t really care that much what its journalists write. It tends to leave them to it. It’s main concern is to publish click-bait photos with boilerplate text. Hence, in this case, they just hired a standard journalist, who is left-wing with tired, unoriginal ideas, who wrote accordingly. The sub-editor concerned probably approved the article from his/her phone while sitting in the pub.

The “clickbait” positively comments show a lot of general support and recognition of Wilder’s speeches and views, and above all, that he is of the people, and by the people and for the people of Holland.

And good to see that many can see though the “leftism” and in those comments, showing others the angles portrayed and the other side, and any one of any doubt and thought could sift out the truth.

I said it before, OK, I repeat,

If Donald Trump wants Europe to re-align with western values he ought to do something very simple, extremely cheap. CHANGE THE EUROPEAN GOVERNMENTS. Sounds complicated, interfering? Nope. All he has to do is to invite prior to the election, say in France, Marine Le Pen for a chat, a briefing of her positions and an explanation of what her party stands for. Say four weeks prior the election, than sum it up in speech to whomever, say two weeks before the election. Same with the Netherlands, Germany etc. The European media will scream bloody murder and spew hatred towards him – so what! They do that anyway.

It’s not “just” Wilders. It’s a lot more.
    ===========================

I cannot help but wonder why Trump is so quiet. Would be very easy, if he *really* wanted to. Lots of possibilities.

I wondered, https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/02/doj-to-defend-trumps-executive-order-on-immigration/comment-page-1#comment-1611013 Any comments? None. Of course not, lack of jubilation, and who likes skepticism?

Even if DM uses silly ‘wide boy’ claims, it’s almost as though they know full well that the comments section will show what a significant part of the population *really* thinks.

Marillion (1985) had a song called “Heart Of Lothian” in which I first heard the term “wide boys” and never knew what it meant….still don’t.

    …
Wide boys, we were wide boys, these hearts of Lothian

It’s six o’clock in the tower blocks
    Stalagmites of culture shock
And the trippers of the light fantastic, bow down, hoe-down
Spray their pheromones on this perfume uniform

And anarchy smiles in the Royal Mile
And they’re waiting on the slyboys, flyboys, wideboys
    Rooting, tooting cowboys
Lucky little ladies at the watering holes
They’ll score the Friday night goals

I was born with a heart of Lothian
    …

Marillion, “Heart Of Lothian”, off of “Misplaced Childhood”, 1985

Over here in frozen Canada, our problems are just beginning. If all the responses in all the opinions I read can avoid the personal vitriol, which solves nothing and only muddles the water, and inhibits rational discourse ,my .and my friends are looking for advice! What the Hell do we do!

Remember that the Mail on Sunday has a different editor and is a different paper from the Daily Mail, even though they are owned by the same group. The former is a much poorer paper than the latter. If your complaints are against the Mail on Sunday and not the Daily Mail then you could be somewhat unfair.

Indonesia is a muslim country. Wilders is allegedly part Indonesian. So, simply because he despises islam, without blinking these leftopaths call him a “racist!”?

“… next month there are national elections in the Netherlands — and Wilders’s Freedom Party is ahead in the polls and expected to win at least 20 per cent of the vote. It could be even higher…”

Let’s hope so since Geert is a great Human Being, European and Dutchman – in that order of importance – who is a magnet for those honest plain speaking people across the continent who want reforms and action to reverse the Jihadist encroachment into Europe, from Ireland through to Vladivostok.

The reporter at the Daily Mail is trying to paint a picture of a Right Wing Sloth. He interjects Trumps name although Geert has been on tn the political map a long time and Trump only 2 weeks. The reporter references “some people say” when he describes Geert as a Racist and Islamaphobe. Something this critical a true Journalist will name names and not talk in circles. He also claim claims Geerts anti immigration stance is what makes him a Racist. Has this reporter researched Geerts constituency to determine if he is representing their will? Is he Anti-Immigrant or Anti-illegal Aliens flooding the country without vetting without controls on numbers going ceyond welfare and housing capacities. This article is shoddy work but typical of what passes for journalism today.
