Alex Mohajer admits to knowing nothing about Islam. He argues from a position of absolute ignorance.
vlparker says
Yup. Then again, maybe he’s not a muslim like Barack Obama is not a muslim.

Alex admits he has not read the Quran, does not know about Islamic slander law in sharia…has relatives in Iran…either very clever or clueless….talks about islamaphobia does not know the source. So Alex why do terrorist carry the Quran and quote it. Iran requires adherance to Islam….how did you miss this? No mosques in Iran….no sharia practices in Iran…? What did Obama say to the MB to who he requested to have front seats to his first speech as President, and say. “the future does not belong to those who slander the Prohet of Islam..” That is sharia law.
BC says
So much eye rolling I thought his eyes might fall out of his head. His performance was very weak to say the least, all he could say that it is not American values. There are quite a few Muslims in America who openly state that they want replace ‘American values’ and substitute those of the sharia. Leading ones at that. It is also worth noting that one of those is CAIR, a pernicious organisation that is supported by guess who? Huffington Post who lobbies and fund raises for CAIR
Islam the religion of killers says
OK the video served it’s purpose to make Huffington Post look like idiots, but we already know this,
How about we don’t waste Daniel’s time and get him to debate with someone with a bit more intelligence.

If you want your granddaughters growing up in a rape culture then by all means, don’t ban muslims.
Angemon says
~3m mark (and I’m paraphrasing here): “do you know how many acts of terrorism were committed in the US by a refugee? I think it’s zero”. That’s irrelevant, isn’t it? How many “refugees” were captured trying to support terrorist organizations, trying to join terrorist organizations (or actually joined them) or even expressing support for the ideology behind ISIS, AL-Qaeda, Boko Haram (which is now a part of ISIS), etc.? That would make a much better metric. If someone wanted to release woodland creatures in my neck of the woods and said said creatures might include bears I wouldn’t go “well, no one here was ever attacked by a bear so I guess it doesn’t matter if a bear or 50 sneaks in”.
Anyway, according to Mohajer’s logic France, Germany and Austria, should immediately stop taking in “refugees” because there are cases of “refugees” committing terror attacks there. And if “refugees” in the aforementioned countries do that, how can Mohajer ensure the same won’t happen in the US? Also, Mohajer either ignores or is purposely hiding the role of Iran in 9/11.
And lol @ Mohajer trying to separate the regime from the people who have been electing it for nearly 4 decades now, as if only people with direct ties to the Iranian regime support its views. Then again, he’s arguing under the impression that the ban is based on religion and not nationality. The only worthwhile thing Mohajer said was that “diversity is not discrimination” when asked about the Obama administration specifically hiring muslims, which is a PC way of validating discrimination and, I believe, the drive behind of what Jamie calls “Christian ban”.
vlparker says
Every argument he made was irrelevant. The only thing that is relevant is that it is average, everyday mainstream muslims who are marching down the streets of London shouting, “UK, go to hell.” and who are shielding the rapists of young British girls. Everything else is superfluous.

Muslims seeking escape from persecution by Muslims, and yet remaining Muslim?
Alex Mohajer’s babbling is a painful listening experience. And he went to law school? If that education failed to fix him then he is beyond hope.

Hello everyone. Whew! Such anger I have inspired in some people. Just a few words to note here– I was invited on the broadcast to speak about Trump’s inauguration and transition, not Islam. I understand this seems to be a point of interest for a large portion of Mr. Glazov’s viewers and is a recurring theme in his broadcasts. But I am not an authority on Islam nor was I asked to or am I defending or apologizing for Islam. My argument is merely that the there are better ways to solving this crisis than to alienating members of an entire religion where only a small fraction have engaged in acts of terror. My point about the attackers of 9/11 is a good one and should be revisited. The deadliest attack on our soil and one to which Trump has cited in calling for this ban was perpetrated by attackers from countries that 1) do not appear on the Muslim Ban, and 2) happen to do business with Donald Trump.
I thought that the interview and debate were thoughtful, respectful, and very considerate. I was disappointed to see the comments in this thread had devolved to such ugly mudslinging.

Would you have been OK w/ a ban on all Germans during WWII,,,w/ the exception of German Jews? We are at War w/ Islam and it didn’t start within our lifetime because Islam has been at War w/ Western Civilization since it was invented by the warmongering, jihadist pedophile prophet.
Here’s a quick historical educational course for you, and please don’t say…but that was THEN and this is NOW, because THEN is NOW… always has been and always will be…within our lifetime the money from Arab oil helped fuel the resurgence of fundamental Islamic jihad as per Mohammed:

Hi Alex,
I watched this interview yesterday. I was planning a response to address some of your points, but it was just getting too long winded. It appears that you and Daniel are talking at cross-purposes. This is often the way these conversations go. I think the best way to get everyone on the same page is to learn what Islam is. You admitted you didn’t know much about it, so why not spend a bit of time learning about it? Jihad Watch and anything by Robert Spencer is a good place to start. Bill Warner is also another excellent resource.
Frederick Middleton says
How many times have I heard that line: I know nothing about Islam but I do know it’s exactly like all other religions – which is simply illogical as well as factually incorrect. Imagine someone saying: I never read this cookbook but I’m sure it’s exactly like all other cookbooks.
underbed cat says
Please don’t say cookbooks…some are not so good.
underbed cat says
Alex, if refugees seek safety and Christians are terrorists, why would they come to the U.S.? Why would they not flee to Iran, Saudi Arabia, lots of land in the Middel east.? In fact maybe you should ask Iran how many refugees they take care of? Since the number of terrorist is so small, and not so dangerous… do the people you know in Iran invite them?

This Huff guy is the perfect role-model for the lslamic apologist.
l’m tired of hearing that stupid argument about all religion being equally violent. 1400 years of bloody lslamic conquest and they just wave it aside – l can’t believe he didn’t mention the crusades or the KKK.
And according to his reasoning, the 30+ thousand Jihad attacks worldwide since 2001, are comparable to deaths by some white supremacist groups [IRA according to him] decades ago which only reach into the 10’s – not tens of thousands.
So, he met some friendly lranians in lran. Like he said, he knows nothing about lslam – maybe he should try living among these wonderful human beings for a few years, just to observe how the treat women [and dogs, if you can find one alive], and how religiously they implement Sharia. Perhaps he could ask a woman to remove her hijab, just to see what happens..
Obviously, he knows nothing about Taqiyya – which, l believe is practiced very diligently in lran [according to the quote below]. These liberals are easily deceived, and have become ‘useful idiots’ for their muslim puppet-masters, throughout western civilization.
lf you include all the rapes accross europe and sweden etc. as terrorism [which it is IMO], the number of attacks by refugees would skyrocket.
“Taqiyya has also been politically legitimised, particularly among Twelver Shias [mostly iran], in order to maintain unity among Muslims and fraternity among the Shia clerics. Yarden Mariuma writes: “Taqiyya is an Islamic juridical term whose shifting meaning relates to when a Muslim is allowed, under Sharia law, to lie”

They really needed more time to do the subject justice. They barely scratched the surface. Alex Mohajer came across as a really nice, sincere guy. That is just the kind of person you need to properly rebut because he is a role model and opinion leader. His is also quite intelligent, though uninformed about Islam. His arguments make sense on the surface, as an appeal to our common sense of humanity and brotherhood etc, etc. and that’s the problem, because there are deep underlying issues that are quite subtle at times.
I do hope he comes back, and perhaps accepts an hour long debate with say Robert Spencer. I think it is just fine he is a very likeable fellow, and that nobody is going to change his mind, but there is an opportunity there to help him see the other side, that “Islamophobes” are not .racists, bigots, and hate mongers, but rather people who understand the profound threat of Islam in a way he has never considered.
Alex Mohajer says
Thank you for your nice comments!
I will be back sooner than you think. My next appearance has already been scheduled. I just want to note, that I was not invited on the broadcast to talk about Islam, and do not seek to defend, advocate, or apologize for Islam as a religion. I am a political commentator who was very heavily involved with the election and that is the subject matter I was asked to discuss (Trump’s inauguration and transition). My knowledge of Islam is rudimentary, but a deeper knowledge of the text is not required for purposes of debating whether precluding muslims from entry is just. Since 2001, 3000 Americans have been killed in acts of terror. 153,000 Americans have been killed in domestic acts of gun violence. Countries that attacked us on 9/11 do not appear on Trump’s ban. They are also countries with whom Mr. Trump does business (in violation of the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution, I’ll add). Russia doesn’t appear on the list, even though it is a leading foreign hostile power who committed cyber attacks against the United States with the goal of influencing our elections. Just food for thought.
I do appreciate your nice comments, though I do not intend to or desire to debate Islam in the future 🙂

“153,000 Americans have been killed in domestic acts of gun violence.”
There is no such thing as “gun violence” I have never seen a gun get up on it’s own, walk across a room and shoot someone all on it’s own. Please describe how many times THAT has happened. It might be people-violence but it’s not gun-violence. So why don’t you address the behavior of people, rather than the personification of an inanimate object.
“Countries that attacked us on 9/11 do not appear on Trump’s ban.”
No country attacked the U.S. on 9/11. Men who followed a documented written totalitarian hateful violent ideology & deceptive war guide attacked the U.S. on 9/11.
“Just food for thought.”
Better make sure it’s vegan!
You’re obviously a brainwashed LEFTIST than can’t think on a level format.

Good to hear you will back. I have debated the talking points you list almost daily in comment sections of newspapers like Wapo and I don’t find that particularly challenging or even interesting. I won’t debate Islam with you.
I am saddened that you don’t seem to know much about Christianity either though. I think it is as important to understand Religion as it is to understand History or Law or the Arts, because historically religion has involved a huge part of the human experience. (I almost began to speak of “addressing spiritual dimensions” but atheists wouldn’t know what the heck I was talking about.) Religion has been a driving force since we climbed down out of the trees and lost our tails. If you don’t have a grasp on religions, you are poorly equipped to interpret the events of the world around you.
Perhaps you have no background in that, but I would like to point out that a Christian is literally a follower of Christ. You should know that Christ’s example and message was all good stuff; peace, love, compassion, forgiveness, etc. Nobody was ever inspired to violence at Christ’s urging – ever – because Christ was non-violent. Though there was no violence in his message, there are and have been endless violent people driven by their own greed, lust, and ambition who at the same time pretended they were Christians. That doesn’t mean they were Christian and that is no reflection on Christianity.
I am saddened when you used an expression like “Christian terrorists”, and oxymoron if I ever heard one. To state “All religions have violent texts” demonstrates a serious gap in your education. I don’t think Buddhism has any violent texts, and as as mentioned above, any violent texts in the Old Testament were often just folk tales or stories. They say nothing about Christianity except perhaps to provide contrast with Christ’s message. Now Islam, on the other hand, mandates violence by the direct word of Allah as revealed by his self-appointed messenger Muhammad.
Gee – this is already too long, but I really wanted to tell you how I became what you would probably call an “islamophobe”. Would you believe I had a good upbringing by loving parents that taught me the values of tolerance and inclusiveness and to accept others of all races, creed, ethnic origin, etc? Then how did a good and caring person like me ever become an Islamophobe?
It began quite late in life, only a couple of years ago, as a matter fact fact. Before that, I might have been just like you, saying the same kind of things you said. I was totally ignorant of Islam, though I did have a very good understanding at least of Christianity and Buddhism, and more important, the “Meaning of Religion”, something I can’t explain in a few words. I was following the comment section after reading a seminal article in the Atlantic by Graeme Wood (March 2015), “What ISIS Really Wants”. I was shocked by the “Islamophobic” comments I was reading. I started doing some research. Then some more and more. I lived in that comment section for about six months. I just couldn’t believe what my research was telling me. I couldn’t believe that a religion could be so twisted.
It took me a long long time to come to terms with it. I think the thing that helped most was reading what ex-Muslims had to say about the religion they left behind (Like Hirsi Ayaan Ali). I remember when I discovered this website – JihadWatch – I often felt like I needed to wash my hands after reading the articles and comments here. I’m serious! I didn’t want to believe the worst about a religion shared by nearly a quarter of the world’s population. And then I discovered the Glazov Gang, and many episodes were also a real eye opener. I was afraid of my wife or family member seeing these web pages open in the browser!
Now I have reached a point of calm certitude. Islam is evil, but of course that doesn’t mean all Muslims are evil – not at all. I even work with Muslims as a professional. Some are only “Cultural Muslims”. Others are only Muslim by birth. Many are ignorant of their own texts. Others project their own basic goodness onto their texts.
However… And I’ll leave it there, as this is already way too long for further elaboration.
