Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Robert Spencer in PJ Media: U.S. Bishops Welcome Blocking of Trump Travel Ban

Feb 16, 2017 5:18 pm By Robert Spencer

Perhaps they have a financial reason for ignoring jihad attacks on churches. My latest in PJ Media:

The temporary ban on immigration from seven Muslim countries is dead, at least for the time being, and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) couldn’t be happier.

Bishop Joe Vasquez of Austin, Texas, who is the USCCB’s chair of the Committee on Migration, issued a statement saying:

We welcome the decision of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. We respect the rule of law and the American judicial process. We remain steadfast in our commitment to resettling refugees and all those fleeing persecution. At this time, we remain particularly dedicated to ensuring that affected refugee and immigrant families are not separated and that they continue to be welcomed to our country. We will continue to welcome the newcomer as it is a vital part of our Catholic faith and an enduring element of our American values and tradition.

By ignoring the national security issues that this “refugee” influx poses, Vazquez’s statement was sadly typical of USCCB communiqués on immigration issues. He spoke about the Church’s “commitment to resettling refugees and all those fleeing persecution,” but about those refugees who are coming in order to persecute non-Muslims, Vazquez was silent.

Is such a concern preposterous? Not at all. In 2016 alone, there were numerous incidents of Muslim migrants staging jihad attacks in the United States. In February 2016, Somali Muslim migrant Mohammad Barry stabbed multiple patrons at a restaurant owned by an Israeli Arab Christian. In September 2016, Ahmad Khan Rahami, an Afghan Muslim migrant, set off bombs in New York City and New Jersey. Arcan Cetin, a Turkish Muslim migrant, murdered five people in a mall in Burlington, Washington in September 2016. In October 2016, Dahir Adan, another Somali Muslim migrant, stabbed mall shoppers in St. Cloud while screaming “Allahu akbar.” In November 2016, Abdul Razak Artan, yet another Somali Muslim migrant, injured nine people with a car and knife attack at Ohio State University.

In all, no fewer than 72 jihad terrorists have come to the U.S. from the countries listed in Trump’s immigration ban.

What’s more, all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese education minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.

The USCCB should also take careful note of the fact that Muslim migrants in Europe are targeting Christians and churches.

In France, anti-Christian attacks have risen by 245 percent. In Germany, Muslims reportedly “devastated” a Christian parish center and wrote “Islamist slogans” on the walls. In Italy, a Muslim set fire to a church Nativity scene. Most notoriously, in France Muslims entered a Catholic church during mass and murdered the elderly priest at the altar. Shortly thereafter, Muslims entered another church in France and left a photograph of the perpetrator of the jihad massacre in Nice on the altar.

Do the U.S. Catholic bishops really think that such incidents will not or cannot happen here? They have never answered that question or even been asked it, because all discussion of this issue is immediately buried under charges of “Islamophobia.”

The USCCB’s steadfast refusal to address these issues, and strong opposition to Trump’s ban, may stem from motives somewhat less high-minded than those that Bishop Vazquez articulated….

Find out what they are and read the rest here.

This agnostic is through defending the Roman Catholic Church, which I have done on numerous occasions here at JW, for the time being. Understand, I might still point out its greatness in past eras, but the Church at present is, for the most part, now led by an ecclesiastical confederacy of dunces——–starting at the top.

    • Myles says

The Roman Catholic church is now an anti American organization dedicated to importing poor people and expanding the welfare state. It almost exclusively supports the democrat party whose agenda is decidedly anti religious and totalitarian.
And the dunces you describe as an ecclesiastical confederacy are marxists and communists posing as clergy. The church is now another part of the democrat party, just like the media, the bureaucracy and academia.

It might surprise you that the majority of Catholics supported President Trump. The majority of the hierarchy might have gone Democrat, not all though.

Someone replied to my answer and asked some questions: Here is a link which clarifies the money received by Catholic Church, if you browse the website. This is today’s news item.
          https://refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/2017/02/17/ny-as-refugee-contractors-begin-to-run-out-of-federal-money-they-turn-to-state-legislatures-looking-for-millions/

I am a voluntary missionary amongst refugees (no pay – my husband supports me): Lutherans; Catholics and other denominations are making a lot of money out of refugees. It is an easy business. I guess many jobs will now be in jeopardy.
I helped one single mother to get a bill cancelled: the catholic mission brought her 5 second hand mattresses for her family to sleep on and they charged her – sent her a bill – for $1200. The mattresses were unusable because they were full of bed bugs…..

All refugees have to pay back their air tickets out of the federal money they receive from government in the first eight months after they arrive here…… so there is nothing ‘charitable’ being done by these organizations – they are smooth, well-oiled business machines.
Most refugees cannot speak the language well and many are not integrated into free language programs (they cannot get to classes because many do not have cars); or they start a menial job in some backroom because they cannot speak English well. Most families are loaded onto the free health system….. and many of them suffer from post traumatic stress syndrome (the wars) and go to the doctor for every small ailment. What I am trying to say is: – the church organizations are bringing them here for the money not because they are “charitable.” Thereafter these refugees become the responsibility of the government.

I am not writing this to get people riled up against refugees ……or the government. I care for refugees – but I also know all about their faith and have known for years that bible prophecy indicates that governments are going to turn against ALL religion in the time of the end. (Rev 17 +18).

So I watch word events to see how bible prophecy is being fulfilled….and visit websites like this to see what Islam is up to in other parts of the world. I also visit websites to see what the major Christian denominations are up to because they are included in the world empire of false religion which will be exposed in the time of the end (harvest time). (2 Thess 2: 3-9; Matt 13: 24-30).

Reading some comments above;- I can see that some people have NOT lost their faith in God (which is great) but have lost their faith in Christendom, which also has a long history of bloodshed in the past (sanctifying wars) just as Islam has done in the past and present.

I recently moved to Europe and I am now working here amongst refugees. If the world is destabilized in any way by conflict (which seems likely in future with a new arms race and the posturing of many nations like cocks before the fight), we may see the sudden rise of another ISIS-like organization in Europe……..

What is important is that true Christians will do the work Jesus told us to do: to preach about the future government of God under Christ. Dan 2:44. We will be like cautious doves working amongst our enemies. Yes – there are individuals who are changing their religion at great peril to their lives! God said he will ‘shake the nations” in the time of the end so that the “precious things of all the nations” will come in…..Hag 2:7

What I now notice in the world is the propaganda (mentioned in Rev 16: 14 +16) which is dividing people into polarizing factions (Europe is a good example of extreme far-left and far-right) and the rise of militant attitudes. Soon we will see a situation which will be the “worst tribulation” the world has ever seen… the Great tribulation. Mat 24:21.

People are developing a spirit / personality where “lives” do not matter any more. Islam is already this way but Christians are going down the same path of enmity! In the end: ” brother will kill brother.”

If I sound like a nut-case… I am not. I have studied world religions, learnt some Arabic and watch world events closely (I have worked as a reporter – now retired).

Through all of this I have realized that: God has allowed man to rule the earth (trying many different religions and ideologies) to prove that man cannot rule successfully when it is done independent from HIM and his standards of right and wrong. This has been the issue since the beginning when Adam chose independence from God and his moral standard of right and wrong. The world will not work together to solve its problems – and if they do call out “peace and security” it will be a false call! 1Tess 5: 2+3. Mankind is also “ruining the earth” (environment) as predicted in Rev 11:18

Unfortunately the Trump administration’s inept rollout of the ban has resulted in its defeat, with the result that it has given encouragement to the view that everyone in the world has some inherent “right” to enter the US. And the corollary, that any limits on such immigration must be fueled by unconstitutional bigotry.

    Total backfire – bigly.

    • Wellington says

      Feb 16, 2017 at 6:09 pm

Far more inept than Trump’s Executive Order has been the judicial ineptitude of the federal judges, both at the district and circuit court levels, who overturned the ban without (astonishingly) mentioning 8 USC Section 1182, law since 1952, which gives the President an essential carte blanche on disallowing any group of non-American citizens from entering the US.

Whatever error one can find in President Trump’s EO in this matter pales in comparison to the error that presently resides in the federal judiciary. Error, I might add, which bespeaks of not just judicial ineptitude but arguably even judicial tyranny.

There was no ‘inept rollout’ of the travel ban. Rather, there was, and is, NO way for Pres. Trump to issue this EO w/o it being immediately attacked by any number of leftist activist federal ‘judges’.

WHATEVER this admin. does, the braying pitchfork-wielding courts will attack. Which is why the only way forward leads to the Supremes-after the installment of Judge Borsuch.

Now we legal types have a fond nickname for the 9th Circuit. We call it ‘The 9th Circus Court of Schlemiels’. Which it is, given that it’s the most overturned court in the country. And not by a small margin either.

Where these judges got their law degrees I’ll never fathom.

Austin TX has fast become the next technocracy as well as housing Catholics that tout the party line of the current pope. Look at the 2016 electoral map and you’ll see a lot of blue counties surrounding Austin.
I’ve spoken to some Austinians that say their town is now flooded with California leftists. Many of you might already know that.

    • Wellington says

      Feb 16, 2017 at 7:10 pm

Travis County, Texas, respecting which Austin is the county seat, is an oasis of Leftism, which is to say a seat of error, in an overwhelmingly conservative state. The fact that the University of Texas is located in Austin is no coincidence since, anymore, wherever one finds a university they will there highly likely find leftists galore.

Another example is Centre County, Pennsylvania, where my alma mater, Penn State, is located, specifically in State College of said county. All of the rest of Centre County, which has 36 municipalities in total, either townships or boroughs, is quite conservative, but State College alone, because of its population (read leftist faculty members and students here), in combination with lefties here and there in the other 35 municipalities, often manages to go blue in many elections, all the while surrounded by very conservative counties, examples being Blair, Huntingdon, Clearfield, Mifflin, Juniata, Bedford, Cameron and Clinton.

Yep, and so sadly, institutions of higher learning, which have actually become institutions of truly silly indoctrination, demonstrate year in and year out anymore that they employ a plethora of very well educated people, far too many of whom are fools, and thus proving yet again that no amount of education can overcome aberrant ideology, examples being Marxism (loads of people with doctorates continue to think that Marx’s freedom-crushing ideas have merit), Nazism (Joseph Goebbels had a PhD), modern Leftism to be sure, and that “time-honored” aberrant ideology, the “King of the Heap” here for sheer duration of error (and malevolence), Islam, which can tout huge numbers of well educated people as adherents, for instance Abu-Bakr al-Baghdad, the leader of ISIS and who has a PhD (assuming he is not dead yet which is a wish devoutly to be desired).

Oh, quite an “honor roll” here to be sure. And demonstrating profusely that education alone simply will not cut it. The retention of common sense, innate moral intelligence and keeping the built-in-crap detector we were all born with from getting rusty are all important too. Indeed, education alone can do terrible damage. Just look around for confirmation here. Such confirmation is everywhere.

Not Marxist at all. It’s all about Liberalism. Most of those professors have never ever read at least 1 volume of Marx’s Capital. Marx argued for the “withering away of the state” plus his advocacy that “workers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains”. Hardly “freedom crushing ideas” there.

        • Wellington says

          Feb 17, 2017 at 12:31 pm

I think you underestimate just how much Marx’s ideas about capitalism and conflict still very much have a home in America academia. This new crap about white privilege is just Marxism rejiggered from the socio-economic sphere to a racial and cultural one.

As for your use of the term, “liberalism,” this can mean different things. For instance, the liberalism of a Thomas Jefferson and other late 18th and early 19th century thinkers. Or the ideas of a Harry Truman or a JFK. Or now what could also be called “leftism” or “modern liberalism,” which is replete with Marxist notions as I already indicated, combined with a loathing of traditional America.

BS! Marx abandoned history for a reason; he knew his ideas were insane, and that the only way to attract drones to an ideology that fails ANYWHERE it’s applied is to rewrite/ignore the historical record. No ideology or religion, including Islam, murdered, enslaved, tortured and displaced more human beings over the last 150 years than Marxism! Pure evil!

There is indeed greed w/reference to the U.S. Conference of Communist Bishops. Since they are probably THE biggest of the VOLAGs (“voluntary agencies”) that re-settle so-called “refugees”, it should be remembered that they are paid U.S. taxpayer dollars – per “head” – that they bring into this country. So from that fact alone, there is absolutely NO incentive to cut down the numbers of “refugees” re-settled throughout American cities and towns – whether the people in those towns want “refugees”, or were even told about the fait accompli, notwithstanding.

Also, since they receive taxpayer dollars, they are forbidden to proselytize to any of these “refugees”. No spreading the word of the gift of Jesus Christ from that direction. These three articles I’ve linked (from Ann Corcoran’s excellent website: http://www.refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com) spells out much of just what this is all about:

We are rightly programmed as Catholics, to respect the views of our Bishops.

Before “Pope” Francis was elected, I had the mind that the Church was, despite all its problems, still ultimately Faithful to Christian Truth. Despite the drivel talked by some Bishops.

Now, it has all gone. As a believer in the Truth of the Holy Catholic Church, a 50 year old who converted to the Faith aged 21…….what am I supposed to believe? The Pope teaches anti-Catholic bollocks ( let us be honest, he does)…..most of the Cardinals do too……ditto most of the Priesthood.

Which Faith does the current successor of St Peter wish me to believe? It makes a mockery of the most important thing on the planet. But that muppet in Rome is more interested in his own ego than his job of saving souls.

Oh, yes, and the Holy Father tells me “Islam is a Religion of Peace”. Dear God…..has the Holy Father even READ the Koran?

Am I having a crisis of Faith? Yes, I am. Why? Because I am a logical chap, a mathematician by training. I see a total, consistent logic in the Church up to Vatican ii………I can just about see the same after Vatican ii (if it is interpreted correctly).

Then I see this “Pope” destroying and ridiculing Catholic belief……the actual message of Jesus Christ….he perverts it…..he waters it down.

He talks such rubbish about Islam……anyone, with any brain can see how Islam comes from the Devil….but not Pope Francis….He is so terrified of BEING INTERPRETED as calling Muslims Devil Worshippers……..of course they are not……they are misguided, gullible fools. But the Pope, cares more about Himself and his reputation rather than doing, or saying what is correct.

Alan, you may indeed behaving a “crisis of faith”; but you need never, ever have any such “crisis of faith” if you still have a deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Please don’t let the current crop of globalist scum infesting the Vatican and various “conferences of bishops” around the world. (There ARE still good priests, bishops, and even cardinals. Unfortunately, we don’t get to hear too much from them.)

I too am Catholic – baptized, raised and finally confirmed back in 2010; but, with the exception of High Holy Days, will no longer attend a Catholic Church that is beholden to the USCCB or that usurper clown that currently sits in the chair of Peter. Be of good cheer and keep your faith (if not your church). Pray for Almighty God’s guidance daily. He provides it – in the person of the Holy Spirit. God bless you and keep you in His care!

        What ‘Les’ said!

But also: There are thriving Catholic churches around, of the trad Latin-Rite variety. Just google ‘FSSP’ and you’ll find them.

Our priests have: NO homosexual/pedophile scandals; they teach that islam is demonic because allah is Satan; we celebrate the pre-Vatican ll Latin Mass; and our priests preach-from the pulpit-that all Catholics should feel free not to give one penny to the [lunatic] USCCB, Maryknoll, etc., etc.

One other point: The idiotic nonsense regularly regurgitated by Francis is certainly dispiriting; but we have no obligation whatever to: respect it, follow it or indeed to do anything other than reach for the barf-bag when he makes his demented ‘observations’.

Only when he pronounces on dogma is he infallible. And I’d like to point out that those pronouncements occur, oh, roughly, every 50-100 years or so. The dogma of the Immaculate Conception for instance? 1854. The dogma of the BVM’s bodily Assumption? 1950.

So take heart! When the ship you’re on is in the midst of a typhoon and the captain is drunk in the wheelhouse, you don’t jump overboard, do you? We’ll survive Francis. Heck: We survived the Medicis, didn’t we?

      @Alan Jennison

Well said. That is the reality for catholics today. The reason for such betrayals is that the “smoke of satan” -predicted by Pope Paul VI- has manifested itself in the RCC hierarchy to such an extent that they no longer even bother to follow the gospel or the catholic faith. What pope Paul VI was referring to was the Church hierarchy itself(not the Faith although the faith has been watered down considerably by Rome),especially all those worldly cardinals in Rome who operate in opposition to Jesus Christ.

The reason why this treachery is permitted is so that Jesus Christ can allow the deceivers to reveal themselves.. before He deals with them in His justice. The first port of call,in terms of His Justice will be the Vatican and the current heretic sitting in Rome.Believe it our not, this betrayal has been known about for many decades from many prophetic sources within the church itself.I seem to remember that there were certain prophecies linked to Fatima that predicted a great apostasy within the church itself.Well, you can surely see the Great Apostasy under the heretical francis in full swing!

One reason islam has made gains in Europe and the western world is because people like Mr Bergoglio do not speak up in defense of Christianity. All it takes for evil to triumph is for all those “good” holy clergymen to do nothing…

Of course non-catholics will not understand this but the known prophetic source of Fatima 1917 predicted that..
“Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist”…

Your faith based on Jesus Christ as the ACTUAL head of the church should remain steadfast.
Don’t worry. about the survival of your Faith despite the treachery of Rome..Jesus Christ isn’t going to spare this heretical pontiff or worldly papacy…..

You might like to read Matthew chapter 23:What Jesus Christ thinks of holy men and religious hierarchies (…and compare it with the Vatican today…)

I have unsubscribed to Rome and its heretical pontiff but actually I have not lost the faith because Christ is the head of the church and in good time He will bring these betrayers to justice.
I have a lifetime of experience with catholic clergymen and let’s just say that I don’t trust them:You can be sure that many a Catholic bishop or cardinal lives a pretty comfortable, worldly life at odds with the lives of those who truly follow the faith. And they don’t know this ,but in terms of God’s Justice they are “an endangered species” for causing scandal, scattering the flock, causing people to lose faith, failing to stand up for the Truth..

This is why I am an Atheist. These Christian bishops live in their bubbles in their club of pedophile misogynist who think Islam is the cure for the worlds sins….. They are sick! This is the real reason these poor excuses of so called morality cultist do what they do. I am convinced that is the reason.

Bad reason to not be religious. One should reject a religion (or all religion) because of what the belief system asserts and never because some adherents of a religion don’t fully implement or wrongly implement the tenets of a particular faith.

But there is the much bigger problem of theodicy that must be solved –rationally. Rationalizations just don’t work.

Margaret, with all due respect rejecting God because man is stupid is illogical and a convenient excuse to ignore reality.

the cancer of libieralism has destroys everything it gets control of. The catholic church is just the latest example.

Lieberalism is a certified mental illness monopolized by the DEMONcrat Party and funded by pure evil people like George Soros.

It’s fair to say that once a political party and in the current case the Democrat Party cites baby murder as a fundamental value, nothing else it stands for really matters

And the the Church wonders why numbers are going down in the local parishes.. This is not the Catholic Church I grew up with. They’re destroying themselves from within…

Why is the Catholic Church always in the wrong side of the issues? Now with this Pope things have gotten worse, but it is always the same history.

I too, am a Catholic. But, I too, have lost faith in this pope and his church. I have not lost faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ, so I attend a protestant church (in protest).

    Possibly off topic–
So here’s an example of conflating the “immigrant” issue.
In my city, there was a small anti-Catholic group, eight people calling themselves “Street Preachers” that (I understand) broke into a certain Catholic Church where there are many Latino immigrants. They evidently said ugly things about the priest, the congrgants and the Church (which they apparently state is not really Christian).
So you can imagine that any inkling of awareness about the Mohammeden threat or the plight of persecuted Christians will be lost. People here are now only concerned with “anti-immigrant” sentiment.

Equating all immigrants has blinded people. Here now the issue is worse.
If someone has a chance, please research this Street Preachers group.
