“We remain steadfast in our commitment to resettling refugees and all those fleeing persecution.”
About those refugees who are coming in order to persecute non-Muslims, Vazquez was silent. This is what he doesn’t want you to know: Somali Muslim migrant Mohammad Barry in February 2016 stabbed multiple patrons at a restaurant owned by an Israeli Arab Christian; Ahmad Khan Rahami, an Afghan Muslim migrant, in September 2016 set off bombs in New York City and New Jersey; Arcan Cetin, a Turkish Muslim migrant, in September 2016 murdered five people in a mall in Burlington, Washington; Dahir Adan, another Somali Muslim migrant, in October 2016 stabbed mall shoppers in St. Cloud while screaming “Allahu akbar”; and Abdul Razak Artan, yet another Somali Muslim migrant, in November 2016 injured nine people with car and knife attacks at Ohio State University. 72 jihad terrorists have come to the U.S. from the countries listed in Trump’s immigration ban.
What’s more, all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has a monetary interest here behind all its hypocritical talk about welcoming the newcomer. This corrupt and authoritarian fraternity, which moves ruthlessly to stamp out any dissent from its new dogma that Islam is a religion of peace, received $79,590,512 in 2014 alone — that’s right, nearly 80 million dollars — from the federal government for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Migration Fund.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“US Bishops welcome Appeal Courts decision on Muslim travel ban,” Independent Catholic News, February 12, 2017:
US bishops have welcomed an appeal court’s decision to overturn President Trump’s Muslim travel ban. On February 9, 2017, a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued a unanimous decision upholding a lower court’s temporary restraining order (TRO) blocking the implementation of several key provisions of Executive Order 13769. The TRO was put in place by the US District Court for the Western District of Washington on February 3, 2017.
The provisions that that have temporarily been blocked by the TRO include: a 120 day halt of the US refugee resettlement program; an indefinite prohibition of resettling and admitting Syrian refugees; a preference for resettling Christian minorities; a case by case evaluation of refugee admission during the 120 day pause on resettlement; and a 90 day prohibition on entry, travel, and visas for individuals from the seven identified predominantly-Muslim countries of Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
In response to the Appeals Court ruling, Most Reverend Joe Vasquez, Bishop of Austin, Texas, and Chair of the Committee on Migration stated: “We welcome the decision of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. We respect the rule of law and the American judicial process. We remain steadfast in our commitment to resettling refugees and all those fleeing persecution. At this time, we remain particularly dedicated to ensuring that affected refugee and immigrant families are not separated and that they continue to be welcomed to our country. We will continue to welcome the newcomer as it is a vital part of our Catholic faith and an enduring element of our American values and tradition.”

Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
A story (passed down from Polycarp to Irenaeus, which is part of Catholic tradition) about St. John the Apostle of love, was inside a Roman bath house getting cleansed, as was the custom of his day. However, through the hot steam he suddenly realized that the heretic Cerinthus was sitting just across the room. John immediately jumped up and fled the bathhouse, explaining that Cerinthus was inside and he didn’t want to be killed when the building collapsed under the righteous judgment of God
Of course some Bishops (Not all) welcome those reject the divinity of Christ. They are more loving than St John.

I hope your last line was sarcastic. We must hate what is evil not who does evil, but we must still point out what i this case islam is an evil antichrist religion brought into this world by muhammed, a demon possessed mass murderer, thief, liar, and pedophile pervert and false prophet!
I would rather side with the apostle JOHN, RATHER THAN THESE HERETIC BISHOPS!

John, the fact is the Roman church is hoping for more Hispanic immigration to pour money into their purse.. What they DO NOT realize is the Muslim invaders are not coming in to convert to their faith, but to kill them…. The Roman church has always been open border minded to get more Hispanics into the USA, and they think blending the two is equal, but it is not.. Plus the globalist Pope is encouraging the folly of this idea… That is why I left the Roman church…

This is what the Catholic Church teaches on immigration :
You will note this first line “to the extent they are able.” there is clearly a limit to numbers of people that a country can allow in.
Your post reeks of falsehoods.
2241 The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin. Public authorities should see to it that the natural right is respected that places a guest under the protection of those who receive him.
Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
This is directly from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It might be of interest 2239-2241 as to Catholics duties as a citizen:
2239 It is the duty of citizens to contribute along with the civil authorities to the good of society in a spirit of truth, justice, solidarity, and freedom. The love and service of one’s country follow from the duty of gratitude and belong to the order of charity. Submission to legitimate authorities and service of the common good require citizens to fulfill their roles in the life of the political community.
2240 Submission to authority and co-responsibility for the common good make it morally obligatory to pay taxes, to exercise the right to vote, and to defend one’s country:
Pay to all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.45
[Christians] reside in their own nations, but as resident aliens. They participate in all things as citizens and endure all things as foreigners. . . . They obey the established laws and their way of life surpasses the laws. . . . So noble is the position to which God has assigned them that they are not allowed to desert it.46
The Apostle exhorts us to offer prayers and thanksgiving for kings and all who exercise authority, “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.”47

Can someone tell me why Catholic Charities are vested in bringing Muslims to the US and not Christians?
My guess is that the government is setting the refugee guidelines, and Christians are not on the wanted/needed list.
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
It has to do with you governments idea of bringing in refugees in, paying the Catholic church in your country to settle them in, The bishops fell for the ploy and are now paying the price of anger from an upset populace directed at Catholics and not government.
It was a smart move by Obama and the Democrats, on gullible bishops that fell for the trap,
Donna Rosenberg says
I can. #1 not many Christians are in the refugee camps as they feel it is to dangerous for them there & also because most desire to stay in Syria & rebuild their homes & lifes.
#2 Catholic Family Charities along with many other religious charities (not all Catholic but they bring the most also Lutheran ect) are paid so much per head by the Federal government (meaning with Our tax $) to vet & bring them here. I forget the exact amount. Then they are given paid housing medical & food for some time. They can get help starting a business & half of a vehicle paid for. WHY you ask? Because the lobbyists for the meat industry are asking for them. They work in the slaughter houses & meat packing plants as they have no compunctions about this sort of work. Just look at the cities where they are sent.

I can tell you, As a born Catholic, sent all my kids to Catholic Schools, MONEY! This church is the single RICHEST entity on the face of the earth. I didn’t know what was happening until year and a half ago. Haven’t and will never step inside another catholic church again. I don’t care if they think it’s what Jesus would do or if they know the danger and just want to money. Church gets paid by the person to settle them here.

If they have any knowledge of jihad, Roman Catholics cannot give their offerings to CLUELESS clergy like Bishop Joe Vasquez. Instead, RCs should find organizations within their church that are SOUNDING THE ALARM about the risk of jihad to Christians… The American Knights of Columbus is such an organization that is aware of jihad.
The only thing that will force the upper clergy to read up on jihad is if the faithful WITHHOLD THEIR OFFERINGS and tell the bishops they are doing that and why.
Dan says
Actually, as a really trying hard to practice Catholic, I haven’t given to the Church in years.
I’ve chosen my own charities, after vetting them to my satisfaction.

Dan, you might also want to consider Patrick Sookhdeo’s Barnabas Fund.
German’s who want to be in the Church MUST pay some 9.5% of their taxable income to the Church. If they don’t want to pay that tax, they must declare that they leave the Church. Thus, they are forced to finance their own destruction because the German bishops and cardinals are even more islamophile that the American.
gravenimage says
Yes–the Barnabus Fund is excellent, Richard.
I have to admit I assumed you mistaken about the church tax in Germany, though, since there is nothing like this in the US–but I did a bit of research and it turns out you are quite right.
I’m shocked it exists, and shocked that is so high–probably another reason that church attendance is down in Europe.
Joanne says
Hi, Dan: I am also a faithful Catholic who has not given to the Church in a long time. It is heartbreaking, but the clergy have forfeited my trust in many ways. I give to a few nonprofits, mostly evangelical, that I trust to do Christ’s work and steward my money well.
Lynn Fiedler says
Don’t withhold offerings due to the actions of human imperfection. We must support our local parish and diocese and pray that our money will be used for the good. Christ’s Church has always had sinners, beginning with Peter and Paul and our Faith remains steadfast. We should pray for the Bishops and support the (local) Church and pray for God’s guidance every day.
StacyGirl says
When one sees how the offerings are spent, it’s heretical to give anything. In the economies of good and evil, better to see more parishes fail, given their idea of success is importing savages. If our church actually believed its own dogma, we’d be trying to save the souls of these pagan savages, not equate their barbarism with anything holy.

They are in it for the money$$. They don’t care about what is right, just, good, virtuous, or in the best interest of Christ’s flock. The only thing they value is money.
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
The most likely reason is not money but the subconscious or real motive of been popular among liberals or the M S M.
There is a problem of trying to be more righteous or Holy than Jesus, that one loses all commonsense of the reality that is taking place, in the world and the destruction of ancient christian communities in the Middle East.
When Henry VIII put a bit of pressure on the catholic bishops, all capitulated save one.
In this case I do not know the bishop or heard his side, so am not prepared to make a judgement on him personally, however history makes a point.
In Germany the bishops are concerned about money, as their system of income, relies heavily on a tax base on registered Catholics in their parish, besides donations.
As a Catholic I trust in the Church and its teaching and have no fear that goodness is in control, not necessarily those that hold positions.
FYI says
“I trust in the church and its teachings”.
Sure, that’s fine If you mean the actual Church headed by Christ, but the church administrators from the heretical francis at the top to the worldly bishops that have emptied the churches with their scandals and false theology ,they are the very ones that have brought ruin on Catholicism. As hard as it is for you to see and accept ,the men in Rome and francis himself do not belong to God.
For francis to equate the islamic allah of the koran (who rejects Christ)with the Christian version of the Trinity as revealed in the New Testament is not only a grave theological error,it is in fact so seriously heretical that he should consider resigning. The same goes for any bishop (or indeed any clergyman of any christian denomination)who allows islamic prayers to be said in any church.
allah is not God.
By all means follow the Church under Christ but don’t trust the clergymen.Don’t follow them!
As for refugees:showing Christian charity does NOT mean that you allow rapists, murderers and terrorists into your home or your country. You would think the bishops would know that.
Turning a blind eye to evil is a well known skill of many a bishop(in many denominations).
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
You need to understand the Catholic Church, it has a set of teachings from two sources that merge into one, they are from scripture and tradition. No one on earth can change that.
I may disagree with those things outside of these sources, however my loyalty always remains with the Catholic Church no matter what. I am no sycophant and no one tells me outside these sources what to believe. Catholics are perfectly able to discern these things for themselves in most cases. This is the freedom to choose.
The Catholic Church has Christ as the Leader and the pope as the visible leader.

They are getting paid millions. With that kind of money, one can buy any number of *liberals* and *left* liars.
It’s the money and not wanting *good* to succeed. They are not shepherds, they are wolves pretending to be shepherds and fellow sheep.
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
No government give contracts to religious institutions without quid pro quo somewhere in that agreement or without government getting some leverage .
Germany is a prime example. Germans Catholics should be good citizens obey just laws, be vocal about injustice ones. However they have come up with some weird liberal proposals which does not sit well with Catholics in general.
The American bishop who in my opinion is good and stands up among the rest: is Cardinal Burke.
It is never good for the clergy to promote any political party anywhere in the world or be a paid up member.
somehistory says
The government expects the religious *leaders* to lead their congregations to do as the government wishes them to when they are paying them like o was paying these clergy to help *settle* the moslims in all the small towns across the country. This guy and others like him, want the money to continue and they will continue to mislead their congregations about islam.
If the influx stops, and the money dries up, the only reason the clergy would continue to support islam…if they do…is what is recorded in Revelation 13…they want to be able to “buy and sell” and have their lives continue in the same style as now…money rules. The “love of money is the root of evil” and they “love” it.
Brenda Romano says

Hi David
White Anglo-Saxon Protestant, I am sure there are good people there. Anyway to each his own.
Wellington says
To David Scotlock: Your statement that “the Christian right in America do not consider anyone good unless they are a WASP” is rooted in MASSIVE error and tremendous ignorance about the US. You are not only wrong here but absurdly wrong, egregiously wrong, risibly wrong, embarrassingly wrong.
First of all, there are a hell of lot of Catholic conservatives, Catholics on the right, in America and who are thus NOT WASP.
Second, the Christian right in America are staunch supporters of Israel, actually Israel’s best friend in all the world, and Israelis, the last time I looked, are not WASPs——-and please spare me the idiocy that millions of Protestant Christians only support Israel because of “end times” stuff et al. No, they do not. They support Israel for Israel’s sake and know only too well that Israel is the canary in the coal mine of Western Civilization..
Third, many Protestant Americans have made alliance with conservative Catholics and Jewish conservatives to promote an agenda of freedom. Why would they do so if, per your assessment, they do not consider anyone good except a fellow WASP?
Gotta’ tell you, David Scotlock, you know pretty much didly shit about America. You have demonstrated your ignorance about America time and time again here at JW. And I write this to you as the life-long American that I am. May I suggest you learn, I mean really learn, the game of American football as a way of educating yourself more about America. It would be a good start and you need a good start in this regard. Way overdue.
Kepha says
@David Scotlock: I am a Christian rightist, but I am WASP only by osmosis, and my family is part Chinese. Ted Cruz, whom I preferred to support among GOP candidates, is Hispanic. There are scads of non-Wasp, even non-white, Christian conservatives out there.
But we are actually worse than you say. There is none good, save God alone (Mark 10:18)–the very words of Jesus Christ himself. And, while we’re at it, when God became man and dwelt among us, it was as a Jew. Since we believe that Jesus remains fully God and fully man in one person, that humanity eternally joined to the Godhead is Jewish, not WASP.

no_one has made this claim before–that all Catholics and Protestants–anyone who is not Orthodox–is a ‘false Christian’.
It is also not just Catholics and Protestants who have dhimmis among their clergy–one finds this in the East, as well:
“Four Principles from Patriarch Kirill on Islam, Western Immorality, and Interfaith Dialogue”
http://myocn.net/four-principles-patriarch-kirill-islam-western-immorality-interfaith-dialogue/
“The Moscow Patriarchate looks forward to continued dialogue and strengthened relations with Muslim leaders, especially given the rapid decline of morality in the West…”
In other words, this dhimmi has failed to notice that pious Muslims consider marrying children, raping unbelievers, and slaughtering Christians to be moral.
This dhimmitude is dangerous to us *wherever* we find it.
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
Thanks Wellington, There is a simple truth that all Christians need to understand: sanctifying grace, cannot coexist with evil.
One cannot dialogue with it. Toleration, leads to acceptance.
At the beginning of the thread I mention St John, his attitude in dealing with one man was correct.
We are dealing greater numbers and we need to stand firm in dealing with islam.
No more dialogue, no more toleration, only say what is true.

It is good to see Catholics been vocal: we do not have to agree on the immigration stance of the bishops in this case.
Governments first duty is the safety of its citizens. The Catholic Church recognizes that.
Every country has the right to vet those coming in. The Catholic Church recognizes that.
Immigration has not been band, it is a vetting process, that takes longer than usual because the facts of the individual is not readily available, from the seven countries listed.
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
Hi Mark
You might find this interesting:POPE JOHN PAUL II
APOSTOLIC LETTER
ISSUED “MOTU PROPRIO”
This sets sharp limits to what any Catholic Bishop Conference can issue as authoritative, their statements on Immigration do not meet these requirements.
APOSTOLOS SUOS 22. In dealing with new questions and in acting so that the message of Christ enlightens and guides people’s consciences in resolving new problems arising from changes in society, the Bishops assembled in the Episcopal Conference and jointly exercizing their teaching office are well aware of the limits of their pronouncements. While being official and authentic and in communion with the Apostolic See, these pronouncements do not have the characteristics of a universal magisterium. For this reason the Bishops are to be careful to avoid interfering with the doctrinal work of the Bishops of other territories, bearing in mind the wider, even world-wide, resonance which the means of social communication give to the events of a particular region.
Taking into account that the authentic magisterium of the Bishops, namely what they teach insofar as they are invested with the authority of Christ, must always be in communion with the Head of the College and its members,(83) when the doctrinal declarations of Episcopal Conferences are approved unanimously, they may certainly be issued in the name of the Conferences themselves, and the faithful are obliged to adhere with a sense of religious respect to that authentic magisterium of their own Bishops. However, if this unanimity is lacking, a majority alone of the Bishops of a Conference cannot issue a declaration as authentic teaching of the Conference to which all the faithful of the territory would have to adhere, unless it obtains the recognitio of the Apostolic See, which will not give it if the majority requesting it is not substantial. The intervention of the Apostolic See is analogous to that required by the law in order for the Episcopal Conference to issue general decrees.(84) The recognitio of the Holy See serves furthermore to guarantee that, in dealing with new questions posed by the accelerated social and cultural changes characteristic of present times, the doctrinal response will favour communion and not harm it, and will rather prepare an eventual intervention of the universal magisterium.
Angemon says
And this is why religion and government should be kept apart.

Where was Vasquez when the BO regime put together the list and boasted (Jeh Johnson) of their efforts; wasn’t respecting the rule of law, and was denying refuge to Christians??

All of the above has been a rather interesting debate on Christianity and religious institutions. Thank you Malcolm from South Africa for your contribution to the debate.
The Gospels give us the challenging account of the sheep and the goats, the goats are in trouble at the time of judgement for NOT helping those in need. This I understand is the basis of much Christian charity work.
However, uprooting thousands of (mainly Muslim) kids from their admittedly dreadful circumstances in places like Somalia or the Sudan or even Bangladesh is not going to slve the problem of 3rd world poverty. First of all, what about the millions who are left behind, they will also keep breeding prolifically despite their abject poverty. The kids who come to the USA or Canada, will be 1000% better off than the kids who are left behind but they will continue to be 4th class citizens in an alien culture. They will always be a drain on welfare in their new home and many eventually will become terrorists in, and against their adopted country.
But I find the RC Churches attitude to Islam most puzzling. Islam has attempted to destroy the catholic Church throughout history as well as the remnant Orthodox Churches and pockets of Jewry throughout the Middle East. Yet, the catholic Church now has a definite policy of outreach to the Islamic world, part of this stems from Vatican 2 and a policy of unity for not only all Christians (Under Rome?) but the whole of mankind. Then of course we have the politics, often very grubby, behind all of this which will often go well beyond the Gospel of the Lord Jesus which is the ONLY thing that all churches should be all about.
As for the crime of paedophile priests, yes, a terrible betrayal of both trust and the message of the church. sadly all churches have been involved, this is of course yet another nail in the coffin of the large organised churches. But probably 70% of pastors and priests are hard working individuals looking after the spiritual and emotional needs of their parishioners. But the real problem for ALL Churches is just disinterest and falling membership, getting into questionable activities such as immigration, politics and unity with Muslims is not helping anyone especially the Church in all of it’s diversity.
Malcolm (SouthAfria) says
Your assessment of the Catholic Church is correct to a large degree.
Vatican II is not the problem, the issues that surround Vat II are rather the liberal interpretations of it by various bishop conferences around the world.
One cannot interpret Vat II independently to the various councils or the writings of the early Fathers of the Church. In fact this is what has occurred
The Catholic Church has been under tremendous attack from Fake news and the ability of the press to manipulate interviews and choosing radical priest to set them up against authentic teaching. If my source of information about the Catholic Church was from the press, the probability that I would be Catholic would be zero, so for me I can understand, non Catholic attitudes about Catholics.
To me as a Christian the commandments to love your neighbor and Jesus injunction to love your enemy is not the same concept of hugging those who have just murdered your brother or raped your sister. It is one of not seeking vengeance, rather to let justice take its course, it is one of extending the possibility of a genuine change of heart as opposed to denying it.
St Paul is a perfect example to the possibility of a change of heart.
The safety of our Christian community is of vital importance to us, to the point that we should sacrifice our life for them, especially the weak.
I know that the Catholic Church is trying to avoid a religious war, as it would not take much for experienced Catholics in the military to form an army in a friendly land, and a full third world war to start. I assume that even other denominations and faiths would join. So its best avoided.
Maybe this would help your puzzlement,

The idea that Americans and Canadians treat immigrants as “4th class citizens” is absolute rot. If these immigrants want to become civilized Canadian or American citizens, they have every opportunity to do so–but all too often, they would rather try to impose the same brutal Shari’ah here that made the places they came from such hell holes to begin with.
JMB says
# Graven Image; As to my comment about being 4th class citizens I am not suggesting that Western governments treat them as such. As you say they are given every opportunity to do well and integrate but so many just choose not to. But looking at Australia’s experience with the Somalis and Sudanese I just don’t think any integration will ever be possible and despite our tough anti-discrimination laws they are basically unemployable, not able to be educated, always in trouble with the law and certainly not accepted into mainstream Australian society. This is a recipe for big trouble and problems. In the mean time we are spending billions helping our own indigenous Aboriginal people in areas such as health, keeping them out of jail, education and employment but basically we are getting nowhere.

It seems a bit of an unwarranted smear to suggest that “all churches have been involved”. Protestant churches aren’t known for having a paedophile problem especially since they don’t expect abstinence from their clergy.

The bishops are the Church’s political class. While your pastor was hearing confessions and working with a youth group as a young priest, your bishop was likely sucking up to his superiors and working on high visibility projects.
Being political animals, the bishops are striving to curry favor with Francis, the Marxist. They realize the best way to advance is by taking a sharp left turn. They are silent on Christian persecution (primarily in Muslim countries), the Obama Administration admitting 1/2% of Christian Syrians as refugees, the Obama Administration forcing Catholic organizations to provide abortion and even abortion itself. But, take Francis’ hot button issues (open borders, migration, wealth redistribution and Islamophobia) and these hypocrites are hot to trot.
Dry Academy says
“We respect the rule of law and the American judicial process. ”
The Hell you do. The Catholic Church in America has been openly supporting mass illegal immigration from Latin America for years. How is that “respecting the rule of law”? I even read some idiot member of the Catholic clergy in a Catholic newspaper saying “they didn’t break the law, the law broke them” when referring to illegal Mexican immigrants. These people are duplicitous enemies of Western Civilization.
Kepha says
Forgive my cynicism (and that’s addressed to God as well as to you), but had a bunch of hard-core Ulster Presbyterian missionaries effected a mass conversion of Mexicans and Central Americans to their particular kind of God-bless-King-Billy Protestantism, the US Roman Catholic Bishops would be singing a different tune on immigration.
Then again, had the Mexicans and Central Americans turned Reformed, they’d probably have made a going concern of their own countries, and would likely stay at home except for tourism, business, study, exchanges, or legal immigration.

US Catholic bishops have, speaking in the aggregate, become yet another force, another instrument, for the possible destruction of Western Civilization.
Put another way, what we see with the US Catholic bishops of today is just one more example of how stupid, rotten, unnecessary, foolish, desultory, destructive, unwise (gee, is this enough adjectives?) Vatican II was, which is still biting not only sensible Catholics in the butt but all those who comprehend that Western Civilization is the greatest, easily so, civilization of all time.
Vatican II was an enormous error called by one of the most foolish popes in history, John XXIII, and completed by a mediocre pope in over his head, one Paul VI, and which gave official status to relativism, for instance its maintaining that all religions have valid revelation experiences. WTF! No they don’t. Islam is proof positive that all religions don’t. Ditto, as examples, for those twin idiotic religions practiced by Satanists and Wiccans.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops, with a few exceptions here and there, is indicative of an organization which has lost its collective mind. Ditto for loads of Protestant organizations and Orthodox ones as well, for instance the Russian Orthodox Church led by its Patriarch who has made all kinds of positive statements about Islam (never mind Putin doing so) in recent years. (Take that, Christianblood.)
Christianity is in the process of losing its collective mind. This parallels the West in general. Time for a change to put it mildly. Better happen soon like because the oldest totalitarian ideology in world history, Islam, is licking its parasitic religious chops at the prospect of finally devouring the West, something begun in the seventh and eighth centuries but thwarted by the likes of a Charles Martel, a Leo III and “muscular” Popes and Patriarchs. A dearth of such Christians are now in leadership positions. Oh yeah, easily so. Meanwhile, the Islamic beast is waiting at the gates, not just at Vienna but at all of the West——-and aided by profoundly foolish dhimmis, for instance the subject of this article, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Time for a beer. Or maybe three.
Kepha says
One minute, Wellington. A lot of us Evangelicals still believe that the only “reform” of Islam worth pursuing is the conversion of more and more Muslims to the Christ of the Old and New Testaments. While we are generous and welcoming towards immigrants of all kinds, we recognize that the state has its mission of keeping us all safe, just as we have ours of discipling the nations.
Our view of the Qur’an is that it was a shot in the dark by a confused and misled man, not revelation from God. Indeed, to us it may even be demonic. How can it be divine revelation, when it tells me I worship God, Jesus, and Mary, when I know full well that I worship one God in the three persons of the Father, Word/Son, and Holy Spirit; and when it also denies that Jesus was crucified for my sins, when that teaching is “crucial” (pun intended) to the whole of the Gospel? As for secondary matters, how can it be divine revelation when it thinks Haman was the Pharaoh of the Exodus rather than an evil Persian vizier in the days of Esther? Or when it leaves wide open the possibility that people might confuse the sister of Moses with the mother of Jesus? Or where Muhammad swears by stars and other heavenly bodies?
Yes, some of us accept Trump’s executive order, noting it does not touch lots of people who immigrate legally, and does not categorically rule out screening in others for various humanitarian interests who might otherwise be illegal. Others question its propriety–which all goes to show we “fundamentalists” are not a monolithic bloc, save in the minds of our enemies.
I, for one, agree with you that the USCCB is a pack of Dhimmi involved in the betrayal of Western Civilization. I do not throw mud at all RC’s, but I do have a rather negaative take on the USCCB.

The ethnic cleansing of Christians(and other non-muslims) is abominable. MAYBE the US Bishops are encouraging the entry of refugees for the benefit of these suffering people. It would be terribly undiplomatic and counter-productive for Bishops to publicly disclose favoritism for non-muslims. Maybe we should read between the lines.
BTW-Catholic charity distributions are public and available for all to see. The allowance referred to in this article that they receive from the gov’t (although large), is a pittance compared to the total monies they distribute annually to causes you would likely approve.
The many Priests and few Bishops i speak with are not blind to the anti-Christian Muslim threat, nor are they (all) stupid.
Please consider the possibility and probability that they are not in the business of sabotaging and/or destroying the Christian faith (particularly their own Catholic denomination)
Again, please read betwen the lines and consider other sides or explainations to their motives.

Apparently not all the Catholic bishops are swallowing the poisonous world view of Francis. 🙂
These are difficult times for Catholics who understand the evil that is islam, and have to watch Catholic leaders encouraging cultural suicide by sucking up to islam.
