The Iran deal essentially green-lights Iran’s nuclear program and led to Obama showering billions of dollars upon the Islamic Republic. Why is Sahar Nowrouzzadeh still in the State Department at all, much less being in charge of Iran policy planning? Trump ran for the presidency denouncing the Iran deal. The Trump administration is clearly in deep confusion.
Nowrouzzadeh is a former employee of the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC). NIAC (of which Leftist establishment media darling Reza Aslan and Leftist “academic” Juan Cole are Board members) has been established in court as a lobbying group for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Said Michael Rubin: “Jamal Abdi, NIAC’s policy director, now appears to push aside any pretense that NIAC is something other than Iran’s lobby. Speaking at the forthcoming ‘Expose AIPAC’ conference, Abdi is featured on the ‘Training: Constituent Lobbying for Iran’ panel. Oops.” Iranian freedom activist Hassan Daioleslam “documented over a two-year period that NIAC is a front group lobbying on behalf of the Iranian regime.” NIAC had to pay him nearly $200,000 in legal fees after they sued him for defamation over his accusation that they were a front group for the mullahs, and lost.
“Iran deal architect is now running Tehran policy at the State Department,” by Jordan Schachtel, Conservative Review, March 14, 2017:
A trusted Obama aide who once worked for an alleged Iranian regime lobbying group is one of the individuals in charge of Iran policy planning at the State Department under Secretary Rex Tillerson.
Sahar Nowrouzzadeh, the Iran director for former President Obama’s National Security Council (NSC), has burrowed into the government under President Trump. She’s now in charge of Iran and the Persian Gulf region on the policy planning staff at the State Department.
To make matters worse, Nowrouzzadeh is a former employee of the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC), a non-profit that is accused of being a lobbying group for the Iranian regime. NIAC’s current president, Trita Parsi, has long held close relationships with top officials in the Tehran dictatorship. In February, a group of over 100 prominent Iranian dissidents called for Congress to investigate NIAC’s ties to the Iranian regime.
One of Nowrouzzadeh’s primary duties under President Obama was to promote initiatives that pushed the Iran deal. As President Obama’s NSC director for Iran, Nowrouzzadeh sat in on high-level briefings along with President Obama, former VP Joe Biden, and former Secretary of State John Kerry, as top White House staff crafted false narratives on the Iran deal to sell to the American public.
According to the head of a state-run Iranian newspaper, Nowrouzzadeh was an essential element to pushing through the Iran deal. Editor-in-Chief Emad Abshenass said that she opened up a direct line of communication with the Iranian president’s brother. “She helped clear a number of contradictions and allowed the entire endeavor to succeed,” Abshenass said of her efforts….

Trump is generous. He will simply fire her. I would prosecute her for aiding and abetting.

First, those fools Obama and Kerry must have actually felt they could have come to a worthwhile deal of good value with that tyrannical “mullah regime” of Iran by attempting to work out a compromise with those Muslim tyrants in power in Iran. The outcome of foolishly trying to work out a compromise resulted that the hoax and farce of a “deal.” A former US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt , had well-spoken when he said “There has never been – there never can be – successful compromise between good and evil.”
Second the folly and foolishness of Obama and Kerry seemed to have had no limit. Maybe both Obama and his sidekick John Kerry were both totally blind to the facts of reality. Which are that the Iranian officials of this “mullah regime” of Iran in any “negotiations” only speak the truth and keep any of the promise they mad only as long as it would suite their Islamic agenda and no longer The rest of the time in those so called “talks ” Iran’s officials had engaged in Taqiyya .which is the Islamic doctrine that lying and deception are very good thing to do as long and the lying deceptions and are done for the advancement of Islam. For according to Islamic fanatical mindset of the mullahs and and ayatollahs who have such awful power in control in Iran obtaining W.M.D. is good for the advancement and spreading of Islam. Only naive people would think that the fiendish Muslim clerics in power in Iran would not hesitated to use nuclear weapons if they have them. For those Muslims in power in Iran don’t even care about the Iranian people ,at all, so how much less if possible would they care about people who are citizens of other nations. For example, of how extremely heartless callous those in power in Iran are to their own people is the following.
That heinously cruel and murderous Islamic tyranny of Iran is very brutal and vicious to the Iranian people. Especially regarding females. Both girls and women. For example a teenage girl in Iran was talking to her boyfriend on the phone and then the Islamic state “police” walked over to her and shot her dead. They did that wicked and malicious thing to her because she was talking to her boyfriend and they also didn’t like her clothing. [1] That was a clear cut case of murder and vicious Islamic madness by Iran’s Islamic state “ police”, who call themselves the “Revolutionary Guards”, they got away with their hideous and malice –filled evil because the mullahs as well as other villains in power in that tyrannical Islamic regime

Just demonstrates how putridly extensive the Deep State problem is in DC. It’s a gigantic swamp that needs to be drained and President Trump has not only Democrats, virtually without exception, who oppose the draining of this cesspool but many Republicans as well, like John McCain, Lyndsey Graham, Susan Collins, Lisa Ann Murkowski and, sad to say, the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, and the Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell.
Trump is on the right track. Problem is so many are on the wrong track. Huge problem here. Perhaps an insurmountable one. Hope not but hopin’ ain’t gettin’.

As I have observed Trump in his presidency, I find that having him in the White House is no different than if we had Hillary or Obama, or Bush. He appealed to the common man by utilizing Bernie Sanders playbook with promises to create jobs, decrease a military presence and so forth. In reality, we’ve gotten more of the same, with the 1% still in total control and the majority of Americans still suffering.
His appointments have been people who are not in favor of the departments they’ve been assigned to and so, the dismantling of those departments have begun. We, who are Christian, should have seen this coming for the Bible warns us that we cannot serve two masters, it’s either God or mammon, and clearly, Trump has always been a servant of money.
Final note, Sanders, despite being a Senator, is not a wealthy man; he has never accepted payola for his vote. Unfortunately, he would not have fit in to God’s plans if we truly are in the end times.

For a Christian you are quick to judge, Milo. I’m talking really premature stuff here.
As for your contention that having Trump “in the White House is no different than if we had Hillary or Obama…..”, I must ask you, are you for real? Trump has proposed a 54 billion dollar increase in defense spending. He has now issued two executive orders to at least temporarily stop people from Muslim-majority nations from coming to America. He has issued another executive order that prevents any in his administration from becoming a lobbyist for a foreign government for at least five years after they leave his administration. He has initiated construction of a wall on our southern border. He has nominated a true conservative in Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. He has proposed in his budget the entire elimination of funding for those bogus media outlets, NPR and PBS. And on and on and on along these lines. Do you really think all this is no different from Obama’s and Hillary’s priorities?
I mean what in the hell are you talking about when you assert, inanely I would maintain, that Trump is no different from Obama or Hillary—–or that RINO, Bush?
And you made other insupportable claims. For instance, that Sanders is not a wealthy man. Really? He owns two homes in Vermont and one in DC. How many Americans own three homes?
And your contention that Trump has appointed people who “are not in favor of the departments they’ve been assigned to and so, the dismantling of those departments have begun” contradicts your assertion that Trump is no different from Obama and Hillary because do you really think for a moment these latter two would assign people to departments which need to be gone or at least reduced, as Trump has done?
Your post is an embarrassment to you. Realize this. For your own sake.

Onomasticians will note that Sahar has an interesting surname, Nowrouzzadeh. The “-zadeh” is a common Persian surname suffix meaning “descendant” of, and “Nowrouz” is the Persian New Year; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nowruz . It’s kind of like having the surname “Easterson”.

Trump must drain the swamp and do so quickly. Hold overs from prior admins.in appointed positions can withhold info. from Trump or feed him bad info. or simply refuse to carry out Trumps instructions. They can leak info. These hold overs are there to serve the political agenda they came into those positions with. If Trump does not have people in his admin. that share his views then he is impeding his own progress. No matter how brilliant Trump is he cannot survive with troops of enemies around him.

If there would come to downfall of Trump’s presidency, he would have only himself to blame for this “deep confusion.” McMaster and Gorka as his top advisors; and now this little rat. What other moles are still sitting there of which we are not aware of and the president, by his own choice, refuses to acknowledge and do something about? “Washington (DC), we have the problem!”
tony46 says
The swamp is getting on his shoes.
Better drain it now.

It is obvious that some people do not understand that it is virtually impossible for a political neophyte like Trump to install his own administration quickly, especially when he is literally surrounded by people who want him to fail. Remember, there were a least nine leaks from within the Administration against Michael Flynn. He has shown himself to be quick to remove anyone who gives him a solid (and legally acceptable) reason, but given the attitude of the judiciary in interpreting the law, some things are proving difficult.
He has also screwed his chances of hiring even-handed advisors by prohibiting the employment of any hires as lobbyists for five years, making taking a job in the Trump administration unattractive.
I the meantime, he has to get many things through Congress, including his increases in defence spending and changes to the budget of the State Department. The article fails to mention if Sahar Nowrouzzadeh achieved her current position after Tillerson was annointed, or if she is a holdover who is being left in place to avoid accusations of anti-Muslim behaviour
It seems to me that he is setting up his political opposition for mid-term annihilation, while trying to disguise his actions with bits of media-grabbing glitter and stunts.
