Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Mattis says al-Qaeda terrorists “defame Islam”

Mar 26, 2017 6:03 pm By Robert Spencer

“The death of Qari Yasin is evidence that terrorists who defame Islam and deliberately target innocent people will not escape justice.”

It seems as if all those with any power or influence anywhere in the Western world, all across the political spectrum, have agreed to back a fiction and pretend that Islam is other than what it is in its canonical text, prophet, schools of jurisprudence, and history all say it is. Does Mattis think that al-Qaeda defames Islam because it deliberately targets innocent people?

Is Mattis actually unaware that al-Qaeda doesn’t consider its targets innocent, and in 1998 published a fatwa claiming that the United States had been “occupying the lands of Islam in the holiest of places” and declaring that “the ruling to kill the Americans and their allies — civilians and military — is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it”? Mattis may think this a twisting or hijacking or defaming of the Religion of Peace, but actually it is strictly based on Islamic law. All the schools of Islamic jurisprudence agree that when a non-Muslim force enters a Muslim land, defensive jihad becomes the individual obligation of every Muslim (fard ayn) rather than a collective obligation of the entire umma, and need not be declared by anyone. Bulghah al-Salik li-Aqrab al-Masalik fi madhhab al-Imam Malik (“The Sufficiency of the Traveller on the Best Path in the School of Imam Malik,”) says this: “Jihad in the Path of Allah, to raise the word of Allah, is fard kifayah [obligatory on the community] once a year, so that if some perform it, the obligation falls from the rest. It becomes fard `ayn [obligatory on every Muslim individually], like salah and fasting, if the legitimate Muslim Imam declares it so, or if there is an attack by the enemy on an area of people.”

So in calling for the killings of Americans and saying that such killings are a duty, al-Qaeda was working from the Islamic doctrine of defensive jihad. Mattis, and Trump, and all those in power in Washington in both parties should know this: one cannot defeat an enemy one does not understand. What Mattis says here only fosters the ignorance and complacency that has enveloped us as a thick fog for the last sixteen years.

“U.S. strike kills an al-Qaida ‘leader’ in Afghanistan: Pentagon,” Reuters, March 25, 2017 (thanks to Freethinker):

A U.S. counterterrorism airstrike earlier this month in Afghanistan killed an al-Qaida leader responsible for a deadly hotel attack in Islamabad in 2008 and the 2009 attack on a bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team, the Pentagon said Saturday.

In confirming the death of Qari Yasin, U.S. officials said Yasin was a senior terrorist figure from Balochistan, Pakistan, had ties to the group Tehrik-e Taliban and had plotted multiple al-Qaida terror attacks. The airstrike that led to his death was conducted March 19 in Paktika Province, Afghanistan.

Yasin plotted the Sept. 20, 2008, bombing on the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad that killed dozens, officials said. The victims included two American service members, Air Force Maj. Rodolfo I. Rodriguez of El Paso, Texas, and Navy Cryptologic Technician 3rd Class Petty Officer Matthew J. O’Bryant of Theodore, Alabama, U.S. officials said.

The bus attack in the Pakistani city of Lahore killed six Pakistani policemen and two civilians and wounded six members of the cricket team.

Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said in the statement: “The death of Qari Yasin is evidence that terrorists who defame Islam and deliberately target innocent people will not escape justice.”…

It also begs the question of what is actually taught by Islam. If we can’t be honest about examining Muhammad and the Quran, and all here know we cannot, then what is Mattis defending?

A film honestly portraying the “perfect man” would incite worldwide rioting, although every violent aspect is something moslems glory in, and daily.

WHAT DOES ISLAM TEACH, Mr. Mattis ?

A former imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Sheikh Adel al-Kalbani, has said that the Islamic State (IS) group follows the same brand of Islam as officially espoused by Saudi Arabia.
“We follow the same thought [as IS] but apply it in a refined way,” he said. “They draw their ideas from what is written in our own books, from our own principles.”
The cleric said that “we do not criticise the thought on which it (IS) is based”.

The head of Al Azhar university in Cairo said that there is nothing heretical in IS beliefs and one of his lovely fellow academics (female) praised the IS rape of women as ‘the best way of humiliating them’.
Recently in the US a group of reform-minded Muslims reached out to hundreds of mosques seeking their involvement.
There were less than 30 replies and 2 or 3 were death threats.

Mattis is a politician–just like all senior military officials. This is nothing new. Just like how Mattis was publicly against putting women into Combat Arms positions, and he has said or done nothing about that since he took this position. The military is completely political. The stuff that Civil Affairs pushes about islam to the troops is nauseating. Mattis is just one more in a long line of onerous, do-nothing politicians.

Why in the world would our President appoint Mattis, a man we must depend on to defeat the enemy, when he is so clueless about the source of our problem in the Middle East. The source obviously is the mind-set of observant Muslims. They are following the commands of the Qur’an.
Enen more concerning is the notion that Mattis’ ideas mirror those of President Trump. Oh my god, tell me it’s not true.

He knows the truth–but he will never say it. He is a politician–nothing more, nothing less. Every guy who has been boots on ground (outside a FOB) in the middle east has seen the truth of it, but the military will NEVER publicly condemn islam. EVER. If you guys think that ANY politician will come out and speak the truth on islam, you’re dead wrong. Trump won’t do it (he always said, “radical” islam), Mattis definitely won’t do it (because generals are just another form of politician), and no one of any political significance will do it. This will not change.

Whatever you can say against Mike Flynn, he at least comprehended what Islam is. He seems to have been the only individual in the Trump administration with any understanding of the “Great Religion of Peace.”

Yes, of course Sebastian Gorka understands, but there appears to be a campaign to get rid of him too.

Fairly soon the US government will probably be back to playing “let’s pretend” when it comes to Islam.

I wish Flynn had used that supposed knowledge. Flynn, unfortunately was promoting the interests of the caliph in waiting, Erdogan.

The other Trump generals Mattis, Kelly and McMasters are following the dogma of the national security elites (a subset of the globalist elites), who actually believe you can win over the Moslems by playing footsy and saying sweet nothings in their ears. I’m not impressed with Trump’s generals.

There is not much info in the US media but here in Turkey everybody knows what is going on.

Also on the 30th of March Tillerson is coming to Turkey to visit Erdogan. Just before the crucial referendum and we know why he is coming !?!..

        dajjal,

You are very fixed in your understanding. It’s hard for me to see how easily you get there.

For me it is a dilemma. Yes, i’ve read a lot of the koran, some hadith, qutb, catastrophic failure, etc. and yes the sit is bad. But i have had, as apparently pres trump has had, wonderful muslim friends. I can think of 2 in particular. You can say they pretended, or you can say they are some sort of sleeper that with the right signal would cut my throat. But you may be wrong. My heart tells me you are wrong. They pray and fast, but they are nothing, nothing, like these hateful imams you see on say memritv, or youtube. Instead of condemning everyone born muslim, we have to help them find an out…not necessarily an out from calling god allah, but an out from this wrongminded hate that has been wrestling with islam for 1400 years. Islam is not ALL bad, no matter how much you want it to be.

The west has been working its way to godlessness for a long time now. How many scientists believe in god? How much of our intelligentcia believe in god? If god is in control, then god has put us in this situation, a situation for all of us to dig deeper, because we’re all off the track, not just the muslims.

mousey,” you stated, “Islam is not ALL bad.”

To that I state, if one is careful to check facts on Islam, as such provided in the authoritative works thereof, one will easily note thus know; true Islam practiced and adhered to—thus the true Muslim made– is only in holding fast to that in the “Book of Allah,” thus clinging to, practicing stubbornly the Sunnah of “Allah’s Messenger.”

Therefore, if you want to argue, as you stated, “Islam is not ALL bad,” then you must also argue in defense of every commandment in the “Book of Allah,” so too every order practiced or allowed deed in the sunnah of “the prophet,” because those works, my friend, define the part and the whole of Islam.

The Islam you declare is “not ALL bad.”

I think most good Muslims we all know are often either reformed Muslims or ex-Muslims. There must be good people who are Sharia-adherent, but the fact is they do not belong in a Western society and will invariably seek to control and conquer it and will live in defiance of its laws. Anyway, that is how I make the distinction: modern, reformed Muslims or ex-Muslims vs. fundamentalists. We don’t want to disparage those who are trying to change Islam or those who have abandoned it.

Muslims ally with us only if they need us, but the second they don’t, they’ll slit our throats. Always been like that–phony friendships.

The bottom line is we must force criminalization of Islam Worldwide, as we did with Nazism and Shintoism. This will require nuclear weapons. We must ally with other Kafir nuke states. I take this statement by Mattis as one part of the strategy in fighting the war, not a reflection of ignorance about Al Qaeda. The goal of the statement is to put Muslims in the position of taking responsibility in dealing with the problems in Islam.

I notice however that when Muslims do this they are both ignored and invalidated. For example, I noticed this in the article and in the comments as well here:

“Canada: Imam quotes Muhammad, complaint lodged with police
    MARCH 25, 2017” https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/03/canada-imam-quotes-muhammad-complaint-lodged-with-police

No one acknowledged that the complaint was lodged by Muslims because they are rejecting the hateful passages attributed to Mohammed. If they were interested in hiding the truth or were merely apologists for Islam they would never have lodged the complaint in the first place.

      Muslims didn’t lodge the complaint.

      Muslims–as usual–went into CYA mode.

There is no “defaming”, “perversion” or “misunderstanding” of Islam by Al Qaeda, ISIS or any other “extremist” group. They are simply the most orthodox, devout and literal followers, the flame front behind which the “moderates” are assembled, waiting for their numbers to grow.

The intent of the Koran is consistent and easily understood, if you take the time to read it instead of mouthing platitudes.

Caliph al-Baghdadi, PhD is an acknowledged EXPERT on Islam whose teaching is recognized as CORRECT.

I was slammed by fellow conservatives for warning about this pick. Same thing happened when I lost faith and confidence in George W. Bush. We say progressives blind partisans. Well?

‘….Speaking at a gathering of the Aspen Institute in 2013, Mattis gave his emphatic backing for Secretary of State John Kerry’s “valiant” efforts to reach a two-state solution, saying that the foundation of a Palestinian state was of paramount importance for not only Israel but the United States.

“So we’ve got to work on this with a sense of urgency,” Mattis said.

“And I paid a military-security price every day as a commander of CENTCOM, because the Americans are seen as biased in support of Israel, and that moderates all the moderate Arabs who want to be with us, because they can’t come out publicly in support of people who don’t show respect for the Arab Palestinians.”

In addition, Mattis slammed Israeli control of Judea and Samaria as “unsustainable”, warning that Jewish “settlements” were liable to turn Israel into an “Apartheid” state.

“The current situation is unsustainable. It’s got to be directly addressed. We don’t want to turn this over to our children.

“We have got to find a way to make the two-state solution that Democrat and Republican administrations have supported – we have go to get there. And the chances for it, as the King of Jordan has pointed out, are starting to ebb because the settlements and where they’re at are going to make it impossible to maintain the two-state option.

“For example, if I’m Jerusalem, and I put 500 Jewish settlers out here somewhere to the east and there’s 10,000 Arab settlers in here, if we draw the border to include them either it ceases to be a Jewish state or you say that the Arabs don’t get to vote – Apartheid. And that didn’t work too well the last time I saw that practiced in a country.”

While the Trump transition team has yet to issue a formal statement on the choice of Defense Secretary, Trump tweeted on Sunday regarding his meeting with Mattis Saturday afternoon, praising him as a “true General’s General”.

I see that McMaster and Gorka have here HEAVY influence on this president and his agenda. I expect soon, unless he will exchange those two, will drop his “Islamic terrorism” motto too. So disappointing.

We need to remember that the US Military is a meritocracy. In other words, if you don’t tow the company line, your career will suffer irreparably. It’s NOT like being in an airline pilot union, where everyone speaks his mind because the Union protects our job security (showing up drunk to fly is about the only way to get fired).

All 3 and 4-Stars are heavily vetted and selected by the POTUS himself. So, every 3 and 4-Star today, or recently retired, was elevated to that rank by either Bush 43 or Obama. No one gets to that rank without the possession of some serious ass-kissing skills. So, we really shouldn’t be surprised that these high ranking military types were put in positions of high civilian power and control, precisely because of their skills to parrot the Worldview of the President who promoted them.

Apparently,ISIS are more extreme than al-Qaeda and they sometimes even kill their own by boiling them alive.

But now I wonder where they get they idea to do that from?
Boiling people alive is extremely evil;surely allah would forbid such wickedness?
Let me just check something in the book of the “religion of peace”..

    { “Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire,hooked iron rods,boiling water,melt their skin and bellies”}
    koran 22:19

Oh…Right then…That’s probably it..it seems allah is OK with such wickedness.
{sarc on/}Gee,who would have guessed allah is OK with that?

And where do they get the idea to go on murderous rampages ?
    ehm…let’s check that book again..

“Whenever the opportunity arises KILL the infidels wherever you find them”
    koran 9:5
You know its funny how islamic apologists, the leftie liberal media and European police officers always miss that one.The police apparently are mystified and appear to be physically incapable of either opening a koran or using deductive reasoning.
I guess the leftie liberal media are terrified of being called racist, despite the fact that islam is not a race and criticism of its teachings are not racist either.

I guess allah is OK with boiling people alive and his followers going on murderous rampages.Certainly the koran sanctions it despite the best(and laughable) efforts
by islamic apologists, using those famous taqqiya-kitman lying tricks ,to convince us otherwise.
But boiling people alive? That’s not surprising given that alla likes to see people beheaded.especially completely innocent infidels.
That’s extremely psychopathic behavior(and ridiculously over the top violence really)if you ask me.
I’m pretty sure Almighty God would not be happy with allah, his “prophet” and his followers…I’m pretty sure of that….

Thank God for Robert Spencer, Pam Geller, and many other patriots who are willing to courageously take a stand and tell the truth about Islam, in spite of defamation and threats thrown at them.

Nice try at white-washing world events. But what else can be expected of a dummkopf whose only probable experience with Islam is that he can now spell the word “Islam”. I’d send him a copy of the Koran but seriously doubt that he would ever actually read it.

  31. Stan Lee says

    Mar 27, 2017 at 4:38 pm

General Mattis was too high up the promotion ladder to have first hand contact experience with Islam.
Really, WTH is there about Islam that risks defamation? Islam creates negative attitudes to it because it believes in its own righteousness and has demonstrated emphatically that its standards are not humane. In addition, I doubt Islam cares, but it endeavors to have Americans do the caring.

Once again, Islam is playing the U.S.A. for “suckers,” Islam lies because lying isn’t against any ethic in Islam, all Muslims need claim about lies is that a lie will be forgivable if told for the advancement of Islam. That makes practically everything that is a lie forgivable because if told by a Muslim, everything could be for Islam’s advancement, Islam is incompatible with Christendom or Judeo-Christendom, Hinduism, Buddhism, and other religions not based in killing and conquest. If the best of U.S. General Officers are the two previously mentioned, the appointees should have been Platoon Sergeants or Platoon Leaders with more recent combat experience.

Mattis is the second high appointee from the military ranks of General Officers. Gen. McMaster arrives in his newly appointed federal post in the Trump administration with a very lenient rationale concerning the behavior of Islam, and then there is Gen. Mattis now doing the same. These two came highly regarded by people close to Trump, and who recommended them to the President. Obviously, I must grant that they served as soldiers well, but they both have signaled less than objective attitudes to the evil of Islam.

Another ‘opposite day’ puppet like the others in the gallery lineup.

That IS islam, defaming it is to live peacefully.

I heard about a campaign around here too that was spreading these lies and propaganda that terrorism just gives their religion a ‘bad name,’ but that IS their religion; violence, that is what the quran mandates its followers to do. Do they want to rewrite the quran now?

The war on freedom of speech is well underway. I will never allow them to silence me. Once the truth is silenced, the tyranny and lies win. Do not back down!

Ann Coulter tried to warn America about this baggy-eyed punk before he was confirmed. He has a history of Islamic appeasement, including encouraging those under his command in Muslim countries to be “culturally sensitive” towards Islam by growing beards. Of course, all the military-worshipping patriotards on Twitter went berserk. Read some of Ann’s tweets about him, they’re very informative.
