Jihad Watch

Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

German minister proposes registry of mosques, monitoring of Islamic sermons

Apr 1, 2017 4:36 pm By Robert Spencer

These are good common sense suggestions, warranted by the increase in jihad attacks in Europe. In fact, it’s astonishing that neither the German authorities nor any other Western authorities are paying any attention to what is taught in the mosques. They are all pretending that Islamic teaching is not what it really is, or that Muslims in the West aren’t teaching the aspects of Islam that conflict with Western principles of human rights. That assumption is, at best, unproven. But as commonsensical as they are, these suggestions will be greeted with a chorus of accusations of “Islamophobia.”

“German Minister Proposes ‘Islam Law’ To Regulate Muslim Communities,” by Jacob Bojesson, Daily Caller, March 31, 2017 (thanks to Lookmann):

Jens Spahn, a senior member of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, wants an “Islam law” in Germany to regulate Muslim communities.

German authorities have warned about the rapid growth of the Islamist scene in recent years. Spahn, who serves as Germany’s deputy finance minister, said authorities “need to know what happens in mosques” and keep better records on the type of activities that take place behind closed doors.

The “Islam laws” would include German tests for imams and a registry of all mosques since authorities “did not know how many mosques there are in Germany, where they are or who finances them.”

“Do we really know if their sermons are being made in accordance with our laws? And it’s about more than that,” Spahn told Deutsche Welle (DW) Thursday. “Is it enough, just to ask that they don’t break the law? Should they not encourage cooperation and integration?”‘

More transparency and sermons in German would also help diminish “prejudice” against the Muslim community, according to Spahn.

“They speak only for a minority of Muslims. They are the wrong partners,” Spahn told DW.

The Salafist movement in Germany nearly doubled from 3,800 members in 2011 to 7,500 in 2015, according to government estimates. A report from January reveals the number is now above 9,700….

    OFF TOPIC
    =========.

    Mass media in…

Germany: 1991 daily copies 27.3 million to 2016; 15.3 million. That’s a drop of more than 10 million copies per day!

Switzerland: A poll showed that 50% of the Swiss think their publications are trustworthy. Only 39% trust the media companies as such, whilst only 35% of the Swiss trust their journalists and reporters. The latter figure is slightly “better” than that of the Germans.

At last, a German politician in the government of Merkel who has come to his senses!

A MIRACLE among brain dead leftists!

Of course every mosque should be identified and registered

Of course the imams of these mosques should be certified BEFORE they are allowed ti lead

And last but not least, of course their sermons should be heard and monitored

The above are the minimum needed to make sure that the imams are educating their Muslim congregations about Integration (which of course is IMPOSSIBLE)

Do we import plants that are known to carry deadly diseases? Or plants that are known to be invasive to our native plants? No.

At last, someone speaking the obvious. What took him so long? For years mosques have been built and imams imported into Europe who speak no European languages (thanks, Shoddy Arabia). If you can’t understand what they are saying, how do you know what they are saying?

It’s not intellectual genius, it’s common sense to monitor these invaders. Can Mr. Spahn be the only German with even common sense?

I would have thought these mosques were bugged, recorded and translated. Even in the toilets. You can bet the churches and synagogues will be bugged, once the imams take over.

I hate to tell you this, but it’s just electioneering. Elections are in September, plenty of false promises and “demands”, and then back to ‘normal’, faster than anyone can say: “WTF!?”

You doubt it? Take a look at Holland, Rutte. He made some of the Wilders’ demands his own. After winning the election, it took him less than 24 hrs to repeat the old mantra… Prior to the election he spoke against Erdogan’s demands, afterwards he gave in, immediately.

Replace ‘elections’ with ‘counterrevolution’ and you have a chance. Otherwise, no change!

Utter BS. This is just a weak attempt by Merkel to draw support away from the “populist” parties in Germany during the pre-election run-up. If her party gets back in there will be nothing more heard of any sort of “Islam law”, especially if a majority of German Muslims end up having voted for the Christian Democratic Union.

Agreed… but, it does open the door to let everyone hear and explain why this is a very good idea. And it gives a chance to prove that this sort of ‘suggestion’ by a politico might be just as you say… a political dodge to seem commonsensical, but never inacted.

Richard, I see no indication that Merkel is supporting Jens Spahn. They belong to the same party; that appears to the extent of the link between them. That would be like assuming all Republicans are in strict agreement on every issue.

gravenimage, I too wondered if Spahn is indeed a rogue element actually speaking his mind. However, there’s still more than a little authoritarianism in German politics and given that he’s described as a senior member of the party I doubt that he would stray that much from doctrine. No – he’s just the mouthpiece for a last-ditch attempt to right the badly listing ship. I hasten to add that I do hope you’re right and some of these people are beginning to wake up, but I’m not confident.

        • gravenimage says

          Apr 1, 2017 at 11:12 pm

Hi, Richard. I would never claim to be an expert on German politics–I am not. But there *does* seem to be some indication that Spahn is developing into a more conservative alternative to Merkel:

“Merkel Adversary Jens Spahn on the Rise”

Jens Spahn, 36, has quickly risen to become a leader of the conservative wing of Angela Merkel’s CDU party. His ascent shows how the chancellor’s power is beginning to erode.

He has also spoken out against Muslim treatment of women, saying, “that he doesn’t find it “particularly enriching to drive through streets where I don’t see any women on the streets, and if I do, they are wearing headscarves.”

He also has at least hinted that he would not continue Merkel’s immigration policies.

          http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/jens-spahn-emerging-as-conservative-adversary-to-merkel-a-1123652.html

Now, I am not touting Spahn as any sort of savior for Germany, nor do I have a clear sense of exactly how Islamo-savvy he is.

But given the fecklessness and worse of Merkel, and the unlikelihood of AfD winning the Chancellorship–for better or worse–to know that there is any sort of alternative out there for Germany is a good thing.

      • Richard says

        Apr 1, 2017 at 11:59 pm

Thanks, gravenimage, for the article below; very interesting. Perhaps there is some possibility that a rift is opening in the CDU, but even if Jens Spahn can wrest the Chancellorship from Merkel he’ll probably end up facing the same kind of internal sabotage that Trump has been getting from disloyal left-leaning Republicans. It would take Spahn years to drain the German swamp, by which time any “Islam law” would be unworkable or ineffective because Germany will by that time be lost anyway.

If Spahn is serious he should quit the CDU rather that allow Germans to mistake his iconoclastic personal views for new harder-line anti-Islam government policies, as this might just end up attracting currently disaffected voters back to the CDU resulting in a Merkel victory in a few months.

The only way Germany is going to save itself is by electing the AfD, this year, bolstered by a victory by Marine LePen and the FN in France. And I fear that’s not very likely.

Muslims may get radicalised in mosques but radicalisation also occurs in schools, weekend classes, at home, books, newspapers, magazines, TV channels (there are hundreds of them), Internet, You tube, Social media …etc.
Whenever a group of Muslims sit together, the subject of Islam (and Islam is a radical religion by its nature) comes up within a few minutes and the brain washing process, which started in childhood, continues. I cannot remember one time I had dinner with Muslims without heated radical Islamic arguments between the devout and the more devout Muslims.

Anyone who follows any rule book that commands that everyone who doesn’t agree be killed is already “radicalized.” They have just not taken action on the murderous commands of their Koran — yet.

A non-radical person simply wouldn’t go along with such evil.

I’ve never known anyone other than Muslims who wouldn’t immediately leave any church or other organization that began commanding what Islam commands.

History shows us very clearly that there is no way for Muslims to fit into non-Muslim cultures.

If we want to live without the evils of female genital mutilation and enslavement, and all the other disgusting and COMMON Muslim atrocities, then we must force Muslims into their own geographical area, where they can’t damage anyone but other Muslims.

      Period.

THERE IS NO REASON WHY MOSQUES MAY NOT BE REFORMED. IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. IN TURKEY.

Under Kemal Ataturk’s regime, many reforms to Islamic practices were made. First of all, the caliphate was abolished.

The language in all mosques was to be Turkish by an official mandate on July 18, 1932. In 1935, the Koran was published in Turkish for use in all mosques.

The reformers discontinued the imam/chaplain of the Turkish National Assembly. No prayer would be performed in parliament.

Dr. Mordechai Kedar of Israel suggested the idea of monitoring sermons a few years ago. He recommended that sermons should be submitted to a special police officer a week before delivery.

I’m sorry, Mortimer–Ataturk *suppressed* Islam; he did not reform it in any way.

And now, under Erdogan, Turkish society is fast re-Islamizing.

We have never seen a real reform of Islam; given the texts and tenets of Islam and the model of the vicious “Prophet”, I don’t think reforms in the way we mean the term are possible.

      • Richard says

        Apr 1, 2017 at 10:43 pm

From what I understand, Kamal Ataturk tried to Westernize Turkey (abolishing the fez, among other things), and suppressed Islam as much as he could to make what had always been a religious state – a caliphate, based upon its supposed rule by Allah through the Sultan – into a more or less secular state. That only worked partially in the more liberal cities, but the suppressed Muslims in the countryside always remained strong in their faith and gradually outbred the city Muslims. Since this is from Western sources, much of this information may be wrong, though.

      • vlparker says

        Apr 2, 2017 at 5:42 am

Exactly. Ataturk repressed it. The only way that can happen in Germany or any western country is to have a leader as strong as Ataturk with the political will to do so. In other words, it would have to come from Merkel and that ain’t going to happen. The only alternative is to replace Merkel with someone who will suppress islam.

      • EmHotep says

        Apr 2, 2017 at 7:05 am

If you don’t “suppress” islam it will suppress you 🙂 Ataturk tried superior law system which suppressed sharia. It was a strong system for 70 years, and in 1980 after the military coup our stupid military generals wanted to liberate religion and gave muslims a place to play their game. So Erdogan, Fethullah all sorts of mullah and imams started organizing again to bring back sharia..

In summary, normal liberal laws and freedom of religion are not capable of controlling islam. Islam is the only so called religious system in the world which capitalizes from democracy to create its own sharia system. Every government must take some measures to stop islamic organisations. Do not treat islam as a normal religion, it will be the biggest mistake for your countries and your freedom.

        …………………..

vlparker and EmHotep, the idea that we must throw out democracy is not the case. We stood up against Fascism and Communism without turning our back on our ideals of freedom and democracy.

All we have to do is enforce our laws consistently, which is *not* happening now.

And the idea that we are safer from Islam under some sort of authoritarian strongman is *not* borne out by history.

Many of us oppose Islam not just because of its savagery, but because we actually value our own freedoms and civilized societies. We want to *defend* our culture, not abandon it because of Islam.

I think a better example would be the Ismaili sect. They don`t require adherents to follow many of the typical Islamic practices. They don`t fast during Ramadan for example, and don`t seem to object to working in banks etc where interest is charged. They apparently use their own prayer book, and rarely even read the koran. Of course the result of all this is they are despised by the majority of muslims. There are plenty of anti-ismaili websites that go into this sort of thing.

      • Jeanette says

As long as the Koran exists as the Operator’s Manual for Muslims, the danger exists that even apparently peaceful Muslims will revert to being savages (as commanded by that text).

Get Islam re-classified from “religion” to “cult;” return all Muslims back to the Middle East where they can only enjoy visiting their favorite atrocities on each other, and start teaching people of the West the truth about Islam (which could be adapted to cover ANY group of savages).

Perhaps fatally unfortunately, I don’t think there are enough westerners smart enough to do what needs to be done.

“Reform” is an idea floating around in someone’s head.

The commands of the Koran are written down in a book that Muslims have believed and acted upon for 1,400 years.

I suspect that any clash of the two is always going to produce the same winner: Islam.

    – I’m sure the proposition by the German minister is the result of a project, the first part of which aired last week on German tv: “Der Moschee – report” (The Mosque – report)

    – In it, a young German, – arab- speaking – journalist visited some twenty mosques all around Germany, to find out for himself what’s being preached there.

    – He was very “surprised” about the things he heard the imams saying in pretty much all of those mosques, and especially, he said, about the fact that the MAJOR theme in every single mosque he went to seemed to be that muslims should NOT MIX with the native Germans. (Obviously, this arab-speaking journalist never bothered to find out what’s actually in the Quran or he wouldn’t have been so surprised…)

    – Another theme was: that you cannot be a supporter of democracy and Muhammad at the same time, and, of course, there was plenty of Jew hatred going around as well.

All very shocking – well, one would hope – to a large part of the German population as well.

    – But so far, the only “official” conclusion being drawn is that “these mosques are not helping integration of muslims in Germany”, which truly is the smallest possible conclusion to be drawn out of the given facts, – which always seems to happen whenever something “unpleasant” about islam and muslims has irrefutably been proven.

    – One, of course, shouldn’t think of the consequences that go too far beyond this first and VERY obvious conclusion. – after all, that would be racist. And would make you a nazi.

    – But, it now seems, that at least this German minister maybe dares to anyway.

      Hi Mockingjay,

The Spahm report is not that important, more of an election ploy. A bit like Rutte when he took up some of Wilder’s demands. Which he dropped practically within hours after victory.

There’s more to it, a lot more. It’s been in the works for a long time, since the 1920’s, the blueprint has been produced, detailed and explained by a gentleman called Kalergi. He was, essentially in conjunction with Monnet and Schuman, THE founder of the EU; in various names or development stages. Primarily under the auspices of DeGaulle. It was a perfect match, DeGaulle had already armed 3 to 4 million Muslims (“Free French”), just perfect. The Americans were of course helping along to the best of their abilities. Not DeGaulle, but the other three, read up on them. But start with Kalergi’s book, that’s the real foundation for and from Brussels!

      Go to tinyurl.com/motxmmo

Much has been written *about** Kalergi and **about** his book, by Bat Yeor, Fjordman et al. In other words, the unpleasant, political incorrect bits have been edited out. You’ll find it much more interesting, and very worrying, what he himself has to say. It has been later detailed and put into practice by Hotton, Kaufman & Co. Never mind, Kalergi is the foundation, the blueprint, the key. Apart from the Frankfurters (and their New Yorker) siblings. They and Kalergi fit each other perfectly, different final aim off sorts, but otherwise, perfect match. It’s Kalergie’s book in English, the translation is correct, 64 pages, you can get it on the same site in its German original.

BTW, there’s an annual Kalergi price in Brussels, has been won by Merkel, 2 or 3 times, Timmerman, Sarkozy, Junkers… just write a who’s who of Brussels.

If anybody doubts the Kalergi plan, perhaps listen to these two, Sarkozy (then president of France and Frans Timmerman, he ranks just one or two pegs behind Junkers – and may succeed him.)

      Sarkozy youtu.be/-P5pFqkvIXs about 6 miuntes
Timmerman youtu.be/dIE9Ztn56Ig less than 2 minutes

Also, have a look at this:
From 2008, “The Express”, just one page
      tinyurl.com/lemqn7j
Title = Secret plot to let 50million African workers into EU
Insert: Of course, depicted as a secret EU plot to destabilize the UK. For one reason or another the Express missed all those who came via W. Churchill or ‘The British Commonwealth’, amounting to a total of just a few million in total, 1973-5. Yup, same W Churchill who warned about Islam and Muslims…

Fun, isn’t it? If you want more, let me know.

It would not happen in Jens Spahn´s Germany neither. It is just campaigning talk and not meant serious.

And it would be another re-distribution of wealth from German taxpayers. It would cost a lot of money to maintain surveillance on Muslims and their haunts.

The ONLY workable solution is to return all Muslims to the Middle East, and where they can commit their atrocities only against each other.

And will never happen, not in Europe or the US or Canada or Australia.

see my somewhat above post-i said the same thing.

And note- about 11-15% of the Muslim voters in the US voted FOR PRES. TRUMP.

And, prior to the elections (I think on JW, not sure) there was a poll, and many Muslims expressed a preference for Trump, and there are/ were brief reasons why.

(The approximate same percentage as of native born blacks who want out of the plantation and voted for Trump- 11-15%). (A Silicon valley Dem took a trip through the rust belt and other areas where Trump won -in normally Dem strongholds- to find voters- and his comments were= he was surprised at the number of Hispanics who favored tighter immigration from mexico and Latin America and deportation of criminal,s and Muslims who supported stricter vetting from the Middle East).

I think yahoo and ANAL PORE (AP) took it down after a day.

Islam is the self-professed “Religion of Peace” and according to Liberals “one of the world’s great religions”. So share all this holy wisdom with the rest of us: Live video feeds with simultaneous translation from every Mosque, 24/7.

Surely the Imams will welcome this opportunity for outreach and dialogue with us lowly infidels and mis-understanders of Islam.

Down to earth, Herr Spahn! “Muslim communities” in Germany (as well as everywhere else they exist) are already “regulated” by “Islamic law.” That law is called SHARIA! And they don’t recognize any other (law). So, good luck with your extremely naive and futile efforts: they will never work in reality.

  12. abad says

    Apr 1, 2017 at 9:43 pm

Not a bad idea at that.

As I suspect the truly uneducated about Islam (ie, the left et al) think mosques hold services on a par with the Roman Catholic Mass, or average Protestant Bible sermon.

Nothing could be further than that………..

    • Richard says

      Apr 1, 2017 at 10:55 pm

Much of Islam was copied from Catholicism: The multiple prayers each day, the praying with their faces to the ground, the anointing of the senses, the covering of women’s hair and faces (They call it the hijab. We call it the veil. It is still required for Mass under Church law, but that law has been ignored since Vatican II). All this and more were present in the Catholic Church at the time of Mohammed, who also offered to have Muslims pray facing Jerusalem if Christians would accept Islam. The Catholic Church has abandoned these matters of prayer. The Muslims have kept them. Catholic Churches were originally supposed to all be constructed so that the Priest and faithful would always pray facing Jerusalem, by the way, just as the Muslims pray facing Mecca.

      • Michael says

        Apr 2, 2017 at 4:22 pm

Interesting comments, Richard. Thank you. I grew up Catholic. Back in the 60s, veils were still to be seen. Little girls getting First Communion — often with veils. I think this shows, too, that Catholicism has evolved and changed in 1400 years. Islam remains the very same, in every respect, re every tenet of their Koran.

Most of what Islam copied from Christianity (and Judaism) was pretty superficial–a few points of ritual, and some very garbled stories lacking the original ethical points. Nothing of real moral substance.

If you listen to many western lawmakers you will hear them tell us what we need to do. What we now see at airports following 9-11 has to be expanded to keep us safe. They know they will need a TSA sort of organization that spans countries and continents. They can perhaps call it the Continental Security Agency. To make us safe from those they have brought in, remember.

That seems to be the ultimate and inevitable confrontation in Europe when she wakes up: the mutually complimenting and unholy alliance between feminists and gays and their supporters hand in hand against Muslim invasion and infiltration.
It won’t be a pretty sight.

        Apr 2, 2017 at 10:15 pm

Benedict, you consider peaceful gays and feminists to be as “unholy” as Muslims raping women and children and slaughtering innocent people in the streets? Why?

And why would those like yourself–presumably with traditional values–be sitting things out? Don’t you have any values to fight for?

        • Benedict says

          Apr 3, 2017 at 7:21 am

Graven, what I am saying Is this: If ultimately all we have in the West to fight of Islam and to prove our moral and educational superiority is the celebration of feminism and homosexuality – and that often seems to be the case – we will loose. Put aside the different moral considerations one might have in this connexion for a moment and look at it from a demographic point of view: In my opinion gays are the gelded offspring of feminism and it is a strategic blunder of Muslims that they don’t support these two accelerating tandem phenomena in the West; they both serve the progress of Islam in the long run.
Asking whether Muslims on one side and gays and feminists on the other side are the more “unholy” part is the wrong question to ask and gives away the game; why choose between two bad alternatives?
Listen to Mark Steyn in his eminent and somewhat relevant speech: https://youtu.be/VQNm-Zcrx3s and how he answers the question put to him 59:10!

        • Terry says

          Apr 3, 2017 at 4:57 pm

Graven–I think the “peaceful feminists” is a misnomer.

The feminists are (my view) anything but peaceful.

Gloria Steinem (last name might be spelled wrong)-one of the ‘founders” of feminism, was basically forced out, because she is Jewish and believes in israel, and its right to exist.

RE: the recent march on Washington, to protest Pres. Trump ( I admit- 12 or so years ago, in a private conversation, he said some locker room talk; why is that relevant now?). Anyhow, one woman said that she was a Zionist and a feminist. The ‘leaders” of the march were critical, saying that the two are incompatible, as “Zionists discriminate and practice apartheid against Palestinians”.

(Recently, about 6 or 8 weeks ago, a champion- teenaged female surfer- was stopped from competing- because there were males also on the beaches and also surfing. She had been surfing since a little child. In Gaza–in reality-ONE OF THE LEAST DENSELY POPULATED AREAS AROUND. HOWEVER, HAMAS KEEPS THE MAJORITY OFTHE PEOPLE IN ONE OR TWO AREAS, AND FIRES THEIR ROCKETS FROM THERE-USING THE PEOPLE AS HUMAN SHIELDS AND PROPAGANDA).

But, to the feminists, that is immaterial. As it is to the left wing assholes in power, or even out of power.

Don´t think too well of Mr. Spahn. First, it is electoral campaigning time in Germany on federal level as well as in the biggest federal state Northrhine-Westfalia.
Second, Mr. Spahn is homosexual. My personal guess is that either he or his partner has had an islamic enrichment within the last twelve years. Before that he was rather islamophile.
His statements against Islam are just the show for voters, nothing more.

  22. Ralph says

    Apr 2, 2017 at 8:12 am

Doesn’t matter what they hear at the mosques, if they are not willing to round up, jail, and deport the people preaching this filth (and their families). Without a plan of action, they might as well join the mosques and sit there mute and impotent. They could signal their resolve by blocking the entry of Saudi funds or even, putting sanctions against the Saudis. After all, there are sanctions against Russia and yet no evidence that the Russians are sanctioning jihad and murder in Germany.

    • Jeanette says

      Apr 2, 2017 at 10:59 am

True; watching Muslims and doing nothing about them is just another way to impoverish German taxpayers who have to fund the watching while supporting the Muslims who are not removed from Germany.

That is the ONLY way that will work.

ASIDE from the issue of the Muslim population producing terrorists, Westerners can’t afford to continue to support any population that breeds like vermin.

      No calculator necessary.

  25. berserker says

    Apr 2, 2017 at 9:57 am

    I don’t understand:
    1. We are told that terror has nothing to do with Islam
    2. But Mosques are to be registered and sermons monitored

Why? If 1 is true why do we need to do 2. Why are Muslims being singled out, if 1 is true?

  26. Margaret Haugh says

    Apr 2, 2017 at 11:02 am

Well, it sounds nice on the surface roll eyes…. but who is this minister that wants to monitor it? Can he be trusted? How can you effectively monitor all the mosque? What is going to stop the Muslim population from taking over in the future since they believe in multiple wives and are mostly living off of welfare and are producing more children then non Muslims?

  27. Margaret Haugh says

    Apr 2, 2017 at 11:06 am

I agree with Florida Jim I am afraid. Maybe allow some to stay who are willing to give up Islam and close down all mosque.

  28. Benedict says

    Apr 2, 2017 at 1:32 pm

“registry of mosques, monitoring of Islamic sermons” –

If this is done by the government it is playing the game according to the rules of totalitarian societies.
Instead it should be mandatory that speeches, given during public gatherings in Mosques in Europe, should be held in or translated into the language of the country,
and if listeners and participants in the mosques hear things that run counter to the law of the land the leaders of the mosques should be taken to court. Mobilize ordinary people in the communities; appeal to their vigilance; this it too important to be left to professionals paid by the government.

The inimitable and well spoken Mark Steyn has something pertinent to say in this context, when he speaks about the appalling anti-islamophobia motion that was passed in Canada recently: https://youtu.be/h-S-QEN0T_I

  29. Irene Brekelmans says

    Apr 2, 2017 at 1:34 pm

Margaret Haugh is right, even when you could clean this mess up by talking(which you can’t) then in the future, we would have to spend billion of dollars/ euro’s, to keep a very good eye and ear and then still not
possible. We don’t speak their language, and when you have a translator, he/she might be threatened if he/she does not translate it the way they want it, and we can not have a controller everywhere.Lost case.Look at Dearborn, Michigan!!! Once a lovely town. Thank you leftists/liberals
