QS 5:51, that is, chapter 5 verse 51 of the Qur’an, says: “O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.”
Ibn Kathir explains: “Allah forbids His believing servants from having Jews and Christians as friends, because they are the enemies of Islam and its people, may Allah curse them.”
The word translated above as “allies” and frequently as “friends” is awliya, which means friend and protector, i.e., someone entrusted with another’s safety — hence the extrapolation that this verse means that “Muslims should not appoint the Jews and Christians as their leader” is not unreasonable.
In any case, why is Marvel allowing Ardian Syaf to do this? Would they allow a Jewish or Christian cartoonist to draw subtle messages criticizing Islam? To ask the question is to answer it.
“Marvel Artist Ardian Syaf Hid Anti-Christian And Jewish Messages In This Week’s X-Men Comic,” by Rich Johnston, Bleeding Cool, April 8, 2017:
In Indonesia, 212 is the number used to denote a specific mass protest from 2nd December last year. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims marched against the Christian governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, known as Ahok,, [sic] over allegations of blasphemy regarding his use of the Qu’ran [sic] in campaigning against opponents. The march was organised, in part, with the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Ulema Council’s Fatwa. It was pretty hardline conservative and the protest demanded the government prosecute and jail Ahok based on the council’s fatwa, declaring him to be a blasphemer. This year, a 212 2.0 march with similar aims was held on the 21st of February.
Ahok caused a great deal of controversy in Indonesia after he referred to a verse in the Qur’an while campaigning, specifically the verse Al Maidah 5: 51 and said that people should not believe Islamic leaders who claim it forbids Muslims from being led by non-Muslims. He has since repeatedly apologised for his statements, but it hasn’t stemmed the protest.
The verse translates into English as “O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are, in fact, allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is one of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.”
A more common Indonesian translation of the verse, however, states that “Muslims should not appoint the Jews and Christians as their leader”. So. What has this to do with comic books?
The number 212 and 51 appears in a scene of X-Men Gold #1 by Indonesian artist Ardian Syaf, published last Wednesday, with comic book character Kitty Pryde addressing the crowd. Let’s zoom in.
That would be the Jewish character Kitty Pryde, in a scene talking about being the new leader of the X-Men….
Later in the comic, on Colossus’ shirt, we see the letters and numbers QS 5:51 referring to that verse. QS stands for Qur’an Surah, with Surah meaning chapter.

It isn’t even ‘taqiyya’: THIS IS PURE BIGOTRY.
The message is straightforward: ISLAMIC APARTHEID!
Custos Custodum says
Don’t buy the “lone wolf artist” theory. Marvel is a large media organization, every frame of every comic would have been scrutinized in detail, and the technique of hiding secret messages in works of art is not exactly new, nor was the execution here at all subtle.
Most likely, higher-ups imbued with Leftist fervor winked at the “edgy” work product.
A traditional, professional editor looking out for the commercial interests of a publisher would have been aware from the get-go of the heightened risk of Muslims trying to sneak Muslim messages into artwork.
Alex Krislov says
Wow, do you ever not know how comics are created and edited. Sorry, no. Editors at Marvel (and other pubishers) not only wouldn’t know this stuff, they’re probably Jewish. I speak as someone who HAS worked in the industry. Marvel fired this creep, quite properly. If you imagine they deliberately allowed it, well, you’re paranoid.
Katnis says
I bet the editors did not know. Now they will know. Let’s see what happens.
VampireJack says
They will probably defend him to the hilt and call out anyone who brings attention to it as being conspiracy theorist racists.

Nope–they are actually removing the panels. I’m glad to hear it.
Custos Custodum says
More likely, they did know but winked at it, see post above.
Overall, the episode serves to gin up page clicks for Marvel.

So if this is true, it’s yet further proof that Islam and its adherents are a nasty, creeping rot in civilisation, whether overtly in the form of vicious criminal destructive atrocities or in a more devious form like this, gradually polluting and destroying the the social and physical infrastructure. If this is true. Obvious consequence – if we have any self-respect left- is to treat them as completely untrustworthy and (since trust and mutual respect are essential for society to operate at all) remove them from western society. End of story.
Michael Copeland says
“Using deception to mask intended goals” is a stated aim in the Muslim Brotherhood plan.
The plan is for “destroying the Western civilisation from within”.

Muslim Marvel Comics artist hid anti-Jewish, anti-Christian messages in X-Men comic
………………….
The address on the awning *might* be innocent–the message on the t-shirt clearly *is not*. I wonder how he explained “QS” to his editors? Was anyone paying any attention?
It does sound as though he will be disciplined–whatever that means–and the panels will be removed:

i am an Indonesian Christian and sometime I found it amusing that Moslems here like to use symbols in their actions, like when they did similar demonstration called 411 ( it resembles the word allah ), back in Nov 4th last year ( we read date month ).
So if the artist is doing the same thing will be no surprise to me, but frankly it doesn’t mean a serious thing as allah can’t help them.
We in turn should pray that they turn to the omnipotent God of Christianity.

Singh the Sikh says
Muslims are full of such sneakiness. As a child a Hindu friend of mine who frequented a Muslim’s friend’s house was tricked into eating beef. The entire Muslim family took such delight from their treachery.
As a child myself I remember an elderly Muslim neighbor teasing me that I should eat need to make me strong. One day I said you should eat pork, it’s really yummy. The Muslim ran towards me to hit me. At the time I was a naive and didn’t expect him to get so angry. I reckoned we were joking. They can dish it out but they can’t take it. They feel they have a license to insult every religion. But if you say anything against theirs, they get so hurt and angry. Overgrown crybabies.
Hindus and Sikhs are taught from childhood not to trust Muslims, with good reason. It’s based on painful lessons from the history of Mughal rule in India. We tried to warn the world but never taken seriously. No the western world is experiencing what India had to live with for 1200 years.
Karen says
I read your stories with amazement. Tricking a child into breaking their dietary laws is about as low as it comes. How callous do you have to be to do that? For all they know the child was tormented with that memory. And your neighbor sounds like he was a real ‘sweetheart’ too. Both incidents reveal supremacist intent. Blessings to you.

Thank you for sharing those accounts that show what we have been saying here from all different parts of the world. It is a fairly common human failing that people refuse to learn lessons from the experience of others, but have to suffer through their own.
It’s an intelligent person who sees someone get burned and learns the lesson. It’s stupid to see someone get burned and then stick a hand in the fire.

So, is the governor a blasphemer because he accurately quoted the Koran and revealed an embarrassing truth? Or was he inaccurate, and said that the Koran didn’t forbid friendships with infidels? But wait. That would be good, right? Or, is it just an affront for an infidel to quote the Koran at all, or rise too high in the social order?

He has since repeatedly apologised for his statements…
So, here a leader in the world’s largest Moslem nation quotes some of the telling facts about the contents of the Holy Ko-Ran and he’s facing a death sentence. This is the magic of Islam, the force that impels its perpetual growth. Ahok broke the silence and he must pay for his crime. The Islam belief system is unilateral, and inherently hyper-aggressive.
You’d think this episode would be covered by the MSM, including the two Fox RINO stations. But no, not a word. That too is the magic of Islam. Wouldn’t want a bomb going off at Fox headquarters, or one of its news entertainers stabbed to death outside the building.

Ahok I think later apologised for quoting Q5:51, I suppose for fear of his life. Then again, not everyone wants to be a martyr, but if he had the courage to push on, he’d probably have taken on the Muslims in a debate and expose them for what scum Islam truly is.
The next time we meet Muslim apologists just hammer on this point alone:
“Did Jesus die on the cross or not?”
If Jesus existed, then either the Bible or the Quran is telling the truth, therefore the other one is lying (1 Cor. 15:14). I think most Muslims, when confronted with this, KNOW that their Quran and therefore Muhammad/Allah was lying or borrowed some fabrication from later apocrypha. Yet they stubbornly want to cling on to that fucking lie. Oh sure, then they’d take us all round the, “If Jesus is God how can he die?” nonsense.
Just come back to the cross. They’d be crucified by the truth. Truth and facts are something Islam dare not confront.
TheBuffster says
“Ahok caused a great deal of controversy in Indonesia after he referred to a verse in the Qur’an while campaigning, specifically the verse Al Maidah 5: 51 and said that people should not believe Islamic leaders who claim it forbids Muslims from being led by non-Muslims. That doesn’t make any sense. Why would Ahok think the verse does *not* forbid Muslims from being led by a non-Muslims? Clearly if Muslims are not to take Christians and Jews as friends or protectors or allies, they are not to take them as *leaders* either. To be a leader you damned well need to be a friend, protector, and ally. Why would you choose a leader who is none of those things?
Ahok was trying to get Muslims to believe that it was okay to vote for him, a Christian, using a verse that logically means that Muslims must *not* choose a leader from amongst the Christians, and telling Muslims that it doesn’t mean what it obviously does mean.
Did Ahok have a death wish, or did he want the job so badly that his desire for a leadership position distorted his reasoning powers?
This is a guy who is out of touch with reality. Nobody needs a leader like that.
gravenimage says
The only problem is that a Christian was saying something critical of Islam–or even just of how some Muslims would interpret it. No Infidel is allowed to say *anything* critical of the “religion of peace”…
Justa Guynamedjoe says
I’m supposed to believe all of this is unintentional? I don’t.
Last year, Marvel Comics changed their long standing, namesake “Ms. Marvel” to a muslim. They’ve openly attacked Christians and Christianity for years.
No, this was no accident and no “mea culpa” is going to undo this. This is just part of the sickness that has taken over Marvel Comics the past 8 – 10 years and they don’t really seem to want a cure.
