“Unlike other companies in locations with large Muslim populations, Amazon has not supported Muslim service workers requesting space to pray during their law-mandated work breaks. Despite granting the high-earning tech workers conference rooms to pray in, there appears to be a double standard for the contracted security officers who protect the tech giant.”
The double standard is in granting these prayer breaks, which essentially establish Muslims as a privileged class, with more breaks than other employees. This push for special breaks is simply an assertion of supremacism. Even in a recent conference whining about alleged “Islamophobia” and smearing those who call attention to jihad terror, one Muslim spokesman acknowledged that prayers can be made up: “One man asked how an employer is to deal with Muslim employees, given their need for prayer, (Dr. Tabasum Hussein, a panelist who joined the Q and A, answered that ‘We don’t stop fire fighting or surgery to pray. We can make it up later.’)”
“Muslims to March on Amazon Over Prayer Breaks,” by Rod Kackley, PJ Media, April 21, 2017:
Amazon may have issued a “declaration of support” in January for a lawsuit against President Trump’s order to put a temporary halt to immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries, but that hasn’t stopped outraged Muslims from planning a May 1 demonstration at the front door of the company’s headquarters in Seattle.
The Service Employees International Union and three Muslim guards who work for Security Industry Specialists, the security contractor Amazon uses to guard its facility, accuse SIS, and by implication Amazon, of refusing to allow the guards space to pray five times daily, even though members of other religions are granted the privilege of using prayer rooms.
Essag Hassan, a former SIS guard at Amazon, said he was let go because of his request to be allowed to pray on his work break.
“I was fired and not given a reason why,” Hassan said. “I’m speaking out for all Muslim security workers and for workers of any religion. When you ask for a space to pray on your work break, that request should be treated with respect.”
The SEIU told PJM “a strongly worded letter” from the “Seattle faith community” would be delivered to Amazon during the rally planned outside the company’s headquarters.
“Unlike other companies in locations with large Muslim populations, Amazon has not supported Muslim service workers requesting space to pray during their law-mandated work breaks,” the SEIU email to PJM said.
“Despite granting the high-earning tech workers conference rooms to pray in, there appears to be a double standard for the contracted security officers who protect the tech giant,” the SEIU email concluded.
The May 1 rally won’t be the first time SEIU and former SIS guards who are Muslim have knocked at Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ front door.
The South Seattle Emerald reported in February “hundreds of devout Muslims, clergy, labor unionists” and even some Amazon workers took part in a prayer rally to demonstrate against SIS policy regarding prayer rooms.
“There’s been issues regarding religious prayers, [with some not being] given a space to practice,” Ismahan Ismail, a security specialist at Amazon, told the South Seattle Emerald. “When I did speak up, I was actually retaliated against. I had someone step on my prayer items.”…

It would be a state law as federal laws mandate no breaks .
Dr Gwendolyn E Mugliston says
No group should be afforded such special dispensation. Not one. If they don’t like it, fire them immediately and do not allow them to return for their “things” for they will destroy as they exit and most importantly gather any keys to prevent reentry and change pass codes as necessary.
I suggest have a trusted employee gather the Muslim goods from their lockers or where ever, box and label them and put it on the door step.
mortimer says
THE PRINCIPLE of DARURA applies wherever Sharia Law is NOT the law of the land. If a Muslim is hungry, he may eat pork. If it is inconvenient to pray, he may defer prayer until another time. If a female Muslim needs to swim modestly in the local pool unwatched by males, then she may do so if there is no other pool. If a Muslim cab driver does not want a working blind guide dog in his cab because Islam considers dogs filthy and he must immediately clean his cab inside and out, he does not have to do so.
Muslims who demand special rights not afforded to others should be told firmly, “Our committee, board or council, has looked carefully into the matter of your religious needs and we find that it is not necessary to accommodate them due to Sharia law.
We are informed by an Islamic authority that the Sharia law Principle of Darura applies. We are certain you will be pleased to know you may pray at another time or in any other place consistent with our city’s bylaws, state laws and federal laws.
It was a pleasure meeting you and we are reminded that when you became a citizen of USA, you swore an Oath of Allegiance to uphold all our laws including the labor code of this state.”
Linde Barrera says
Hi mortimer- I love ❤ your comments about the Principle of Darura. And yet when it comes to swearing an oath of allegiance to the US, some Muslims (having broken the law) told the judge: “I did not mean it when I said the oath of allegiance to the US.” ? Stay brilliant, mortimer.

Amazon should tell them to take Allah and shove it.
Dawn says
The problem is they won’t they will cave in and of course they will get their rights as usual . All they have to do scream Islamaphobia.
Benedict says
Don’t be deceived: Muslim prayers in public are political manifestations and demonstrations pretending to be an expression of piety, and that’s exactly what makes them repulsive and hypocritical.
StacyGirl says
More than just a typical homage to Satan moment, the demands also include “accommodations” away from infidels to carry out the acts. I’m sure footpaths are in the works as well. It never ends with this lot.
Aniruddha Biswas says
Make no mistake, this urge to pray in public is nothing more than a display of strength. Most of the same people indulge in every vice possible, yet make a show of this so-called piety. In countries where they are in substantial numbers even if a minority, these public prayer meetings are warnings to the dominant community about their unity, and a veiled threat to not interfere in their matters, be it religious or otherwise. In India, it took years to stop these so-called faithful from blocking busy arterial streets in our major cities for their jummah, or Friday prayers.
In India in fact, in the wake of increased belligerence of these friday-faithfuls after incitement at their neighborhood mosques, the Hindu community was forced to counter-mobilize in similar displays of mass public prayer to stop the aggressive spread of this virus.
Today, an uneasy peace is maintained. This only goes to show that if you back down to these ultra-faithful, who are actually Islamic supremacists, then God help you, because there’s no limit to the privileges Allah has ordained for his chosen flock.
Clair Reading says
US has had Muslims for years and I never remember any problem with when and where they prayed during work. Now it’s becoming an issue.
Keys says
Yep. The more muslims, the more problems.
As others may have posted:
Know Islam, no peace.
No Islam, know peace.

Just don’t employ mohammadons!

Totally ridiculous, yet another way they try to mix religion with secular life. No religion needs special break times or special rooms in order to maintain their faith. Prayers can be said silently or they can use the already mandated 15 minutes of break time every 4 hours for most hourly workers.
The Islamic 5 times a day prostration is a mixture of exhibitionism and a demonstration of supremacy. It is part of their campaign of ever increasing demands for accommodation: special breaks, special rooms, foot baths, refusal to perform certain work tasks, etc.
I would NEVER hire a Muslim – it is guaranteed trouble.
somehistory says
The company gave a foot in the door for the tech workers…now the security guards are demanding a yard.
Each little increment is followed by a demand for a larger portion.
They are never happy. islam makes them miserable and they are commanded by satan to share the misery.
In pushing others around, they get to feel powerful.
It’s a mixed bag of evil.
Barry says
Matthew 6:5 is the definitive course…..pray privately, in secret….that is what the Father sees, that is what the Father wants……..these ignorant, arrogant (stemming from ignorance) people making a spectacle of public COMPANY/ public work time to pray…..the Father sees all, hears all and Knows all…and He judges accordingly…
no_one says
When I say “our father” in cafeteria and make a cross sign I am looked at like I am a weirdo. For mulims everything is allowed. Their religion is so big show off that it gets disgusting.
Savvy Kafir says
Amazon should offer to provide them some very nice prayer rooms in the Muslim-majority nation of their choice, if they agree to move there.
ketzel says
Muslim security guards? What will they do if Muslim terrorists make an attempt on Amazon, is there not a conflict of interest? All security guards should be non-Muslim.
D Trump says
It’s all about spreading their culture using our own laws against us.
I agree that it’s a public display to show their perceived supremacy.
When I was in Bahrain, we would see car loads of muzzies driving in from Saudi Arabia. Once they were safe in Bahrain at a nice hotel, off came their Arab garb and into western clothing.
Next thing they did was hit the bars sucking down booze like a thirsty sailor. Once they were boozed up it was off to chase the western or Asian girls throwing $100 bills like it was candy.
So, all this Muslim puritanical holier than thou is a load of crap.
Myrl Nisely says
It is time for government leaders at all levels and the leaders of corporate America to get into joint action to establish that Islam is incompatible with America’s legal system, capitalist system and many other aspects of our country that will be obliterated by Sharia Law and Muslim religious practices. Will our country just continue to be warm, fuzzy, loving multiculturalists and watch our country be destroyed? Can’t we SEE what is occurring in European countries? Same is well underway here, as Amazon’s pains illustrate.
Linnte says
Well good. Amazon finally gets a taste of what they have been supporting and I hope they notice how stifling it smells too.
Linde Barrera says
I am a Christian lady and a big backer of separation of church and state. I also think that any worker can pray privately on their break, prep, lunch and in the bathroom. I hope and pray Amazon wises up and does not grant any “official” prayer space or time. No religious group should ever have that privilege in America or elsewhere. Amen!
james.mich says
Amazon should sack them. If they won’t do the job, they should not be given it. They should be treated fairly, not given special treatment.
bostongal912 says
Why do these companies hire Muslims at all? Seems to me it’s way more trouble than it’s worth. At the very least they should find out if their religion is going to interfere at all with their work schedule. Then get it in writing so they can’t say they didn’t understand or sue you down the road as they often do! Can an employer do that? I’m not sure but it would save a whole lot of BS for the employer. Muslims seem to think that the rules don’t apply to them. You see it all the time in law suit after law suit from Muslims suing the company for discrimination. You would think that these companies would get it by now!
Carolyne says
I would not hire a Muslim as anything, much less as a security guard. Whose security would they be guarding? Do they have a gun? A Muslim with a gun is a disaster waiting to happen. He might decide that on a particular day he didn’t like his co-workers eating ham sandwiches and decide it was his day to collect his 72 virgins and young boys like scattered pearls. They cannot be trusted with anything, much less security.
Bee says
They must be a pretty wicked lot to need to pray five times a day. So they pray, go back to work and sin, pray, sin and repeat five times every day 365 days a year? the idea of praying is to ask for forgiveness and to sin no more. The more I think of this muslim prayer routine the more it seems to be a completely ridiculous exercise and obviously a waste of Allah’s time.
anke Leibrecht says
Oh, why do I feel such disgust…
