“He never talked politics or religion. The only thing he talked about was getting more jobs so he could send money home to his family.”
It was assumed, then, that he was a “moderate.” But when one’s religion contains commands to wage war against unbelievers, a renewed piety can lead to mass murder. Where did he go to mosque? Is that mosque being investigated? Why not?
“Stockholm terror attack: Suspect reportedly posted ISIS videos on Facebook,” by Samuel Chamberlain, Fox News, April 8, 2017:
The suspect in Friday’s deadly truck attack in Stockholm posted videos of ISIS atrocities on Facebook and “liked” a picture showing the bloody aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, a Swedish newspaper reported.
The Aftonbladet newspaper said the suspect was a 39-year-old man from Uzbekistan who had lived in one of the Swedish capital’s southern suburbs. The newspaper quoted a friend of the arrested man who said the suspect was a father of four and worked in construction.
“He never talked politics or religion,” the friend said. “The only thing he talked about was getting more jobs so he could send money home to his family.”
Four people were killed and 15 others were injured Friday when a hijacked beer truck plowed into pedestrians at a central Stockholm department store. Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said his country had been “attacked” and described the incident as an “act of terror.”
“The country is in a state of shock,” he said. “The aim of terrorism is to undermine democracy. But such a goal will never be achieved in Sweden.”…

First, it’s a strange but common phenomena in Europe’s modern PC culture that when it comes to Islamic terrorism there are many people who are afraid to call it what it is. That’s odd because no one is afraid to call a person who engages in violence for anarchy and “anarchist terrorist”. Nor are people afraid to call a Marxist who engages in violence for the ideology of communism a “Communist terrorist.” Likewise, a person who commits violence for Environmentalism an “Environmentalist terrorists. “Nevertheless, when it comes to a Muslim terrorist who engages in deadly violence because of the theology and ideology of Islam, many people fear to call that person an “Islamic terrorists.” Strange but true.
Second, that heinous and murderous truck jihad attack in Stockholm, Sweden reflects the teaching of the “holy book” of Islam, the Quran. As, for example, the Quran instructs in Sura 9:111. “The believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, they kill and are killed.” Nevertheless, the apologists for Islam still have the gall to make the claim the “Islam is a peaceful religion.” What an outlandishly false claim to make
Walter Sieruk says
That jihad truck attack, just yesterday in Stockholm, Sweden may serve as an example of Muslim ungratefulness and unthankfulness for letting them enter Sweden to live. This this further r exposes the Muslim’s Islamic contempt for people who are Westerners and Western civilization, Western laws.
This Muslim violence may be yet better explained by one of the fables of Aesop which is entitled THE FARMER AND THE VIPER. So here it is “Once in ancient Greece there was a farmer outside on a very cold winter day walking in if field to make sure that everything is in order and as it should be. The farmer came upon a half-froze viper about to die from the bitter cold. The kind yet foolish farmer took pity on the viper and in an action of kindness put it his is vest jacket to warms and up and thus save its life. The viper warned up revived and then bit farmer through the vest jacket. So the kind but foolish farmer died a slow painful death in awful agony because he felt sorry of the viper and saved it life. The point to this fable is the no amount of kindness will change and vicious and evil nature.
So it is with those Muslim migrants who were allowed to enter Sweden to live . Those violent migrants who are Muslims will not be impress and change because kindness of Westerners. This is because those violent Muslims have that ungrateful dangerous viper nature because of their venomous and violent religion which is Islam.

No… the purpose of ISLAMIC TERRORISM is to SUBJUGATE SWEDEN UNDER SHARIA LAW.
Message to Sweden’s intelligence community: DEVELOP A PROTOCOL TO DEPROGRAM MUSLIMS RIGHT OUT OF ISLAM.

Yes, meaningless sound bite fron the Swedish PM. Evil kills good every day. Evil can easily kill democracy. “Democracy” is the exception in the world, and there are no guarantees for it’s continuance, despite the PM’s silly words.
Demsci says
Maybe in some deeper way he is partly right. On the one hand; democracy won’t be set aside completely like Hitler did, but essential parts of it may be targeted by the strategists of Islam who inspire terrorist attacks for THIS reason.
AND as David Wood explained the other day; in the aftermath of an attack always some “nice Muslims” get to explain in the media how the terrorist act was not Islamic or Islamic normal and how “peaceful Islam really is”. So the terrorist act also benefits Islam that way!
Any way the Prime Minister and you did characterize the essential choice in my opinion; it is Democracy versus shariah law. Muslims mostly want less of the first, more of the second. When the 2 are in contradiction, what are Muslims going to choose?! And promote?
But only wanting the negative deviation that Islam in our eyes is, to vanish, is IMO not enough. So deprogramming Muslims and in essence saying to them; LOOSE something that they now value and cherish so much is no good.
With what can we hope that Muslims REPLACE Islam with? As yet I see no comprehensive working answer to that. Maybe an almost religious adherence to the full democratic system, with it’s own 5 pillars? Or, in an outlandish way, an adherence to future oriented new movements here and there?
gravenimage says
Demsci, if Muslims ever come to power in the West, they will indeed destroy democracy.

The Swedish Social Democratic Party HAS DESTROYED SWEDEN and the PM wants to be a hero in the midst of the CRISIS his party created. He suggests that the ISLAMIC TERRORISTS ARE UNDERMINING DEMOCRACY! WRONG!
The Swedish Social Democratic Party of PM Stefan Lofven UNDERMINED DEMOCRACY and they also SUPPRESSED THE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION REQUIRED TO STOP THE IMMIGRATION INVASION.
More disasters are on the way. SWEDEN NEEDS TO RETURN TO FREE SPEECH AND FREE ELECTIONS THAT ARE NOT CONTROLLED by the Swedish Social Democratic Party.

Though if he *hadn’t* trotted off to FB and “let it all hang out”, we wouldn’t *know* quite so much about his proclivities.
The thing about FB is that it lures people to spill their guts. You don’t need an interrogator! You don’t need torture! Just.. provide a huge public noticeboard that allows people to parade *everything* they like, dislike, think, do, feel… and *everybody* from nice Jewish grandmas to rabid Jihadis will flock to it and tell the world in general what they think and feel. And only the most cautious will refrain from telling the world what they intend to do today, tomorrow, next week, and what they did today, yesterday, last week, last year.
I saw a most amusing cartoon. A pic of the traditional Catholic confessional. On one side of the curtain is the bloke saying, “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned”. On the other side is the priest with his laptop computer open to ‘FB” and he is replying, “I already know” (i.e. the priest has opened up the parishioner’s FB feed and everything that’s about to be confessed is already out there in living colour).

dumbledoresarmy, there’s something about Facebook that appeals to, and brings out, some of our basest needs or impulses. I haven’t given it a great deal of thought, and haven’t researched it. But I have long felt that there’s something quite dysfunctional — is it evil? sure, why not — about Facebook. it connects people, and disconnects them. The trivial becomes what matters. Yes, what you had for lunch, where you went to dinner, what your child just said, can you believe THIS?, and aren’t I great for saying / doing such and such … this is, it seems, the vast majority of posts.
“Look at me!” is essentially what Facebook allows people to say, without saying it. This profound craving for attention. However, it’s satisfied by the tritest of things, rather than actual achievement, work, effort. Without any effort, we get attention, we are lauded, or we get people’s sympathies.
It’s like a casino — I go a few times a year, mostly lose money, and enjoy myself. That said, the essence of the casino is to get that winning feeling, that feeling of being a ‘winner,’ without effort. Just by sheer luck. But the rush, the excitement, the thrill — without any effort whatsoever. It’s addictive. As is Facebook.
The feeling that I think we want is that ‘winning’ feeling, the feeling of being somebody — and the way to truly do that, is to put in immense effort over a long period of time — and forget about being somebody, and rather immerse yourself into your field of study. For years and years.
As Christ said, lose yourself for my sake, and you will find yourself. There are varying ways to look at that. I think one is to lose ourselves in service, in helping others, in making a difference in this world, somehow making it better for our being here. Leave the world a better place somehow, no matter how small. And in doing so, we find a self that is higher. More noble. More divine. Rather than the base world of Facebook.
Of course, as with all things, Facebook is used for good, too. Good people post good things. Robert, Pamela, and many amazing people post vital information on Facebook. It extends the reach to much greater numbers of people. and it unfortunately, or as a flip side — the polarities; yin and yang; light and dark — triggers baser impulses. And we have been inundated for decades with appeals to the base side of humanity. Thus conditioned, Facebook offers a platform for it in a flood.
Yes, it can be used as a tool to find terrorists, I suppose. But it doesn’t appear to be being used in such a way.
Like most of us, I have a Facebook page. Any more, I use it to see what Robert has posted, though not needed as I get his posts via email. I get Pamela Geller’s, as well. Otherwise, I do not like Facebook.
I’m not sure if this has anything to do with anything here, other than your note about Facebook, which is right on. It seems to be part and parcel of whatever conditioning we are subjected to, the dehumanizing of us, the trivialization of so much of what might and does matter.
Forgive me if any of you read this post and wonder ‘what the hell is he talking about?’ lol …
I have only been on this site for about 5 weeks. And in those 5 weeks, I have gotten an incredible crash course in Islam. My thanks to Robert, to all of you who contribute so much. This is an incredible group of men and women. And I am grateful and humbled to be in your company. The articles are always excellent. The comments? Just amazing to read all of your thoughts, your experiences, solutions, opinions, and to learn from you.

Michael, I hadn’t realized you were quite so new to Jihad Watch. A belated welcome to you!
About Facebook–yes, it can be trivial. I only set up a Facebook account to take part in Everybody Draw Mohammad Day, and really haven’t used it since.
But I do know artists, illustrators, and writers who use it regularly–and I’m afraid I can’t even consider silly stuff like “cute things my kid did” or “here’s a picture of the awesome pancakes I had at the new breakfast place” to be really evil.
Here at Jihad Watch, we know what real evil is–and yes, this is showing up on Facebook now, as well.
As always, I hate Islam.
Michael says
Well, gravenimage, my first response somehow didn’t post. I will be more succinct: I consider myself very fortunate to be here. Brilliant minds, passionate men and women who hold the same values, with freedom at its core.
I see the threat more clearly than I ever have. I, too, hate Islam. I have had a few conversations with family and friends since coming on this site about Islam. My posts on different articles on different sites are a bit different now. I feel I can say some things with confidence. F Islam, basically … and wake up, people. And here’s why — in some detail.
re Facebook — in itself, of course it’s not evil, and my comments on it haven’t a thing to do with this site, so it was probably better left unsaid. I just have been looking at things going back quite some time, the way our minds have been ruined, and controlled, in many ways. I’m always searching for the big picture, made up of a thousand details, and how they weave together, and who’s doing what, how, when …. and my knowledge is trite compared to all there is to know.
Nice thing, we can have little knowledge, but know evil from good, and commit to fighting the evil. I’m very, very clear on the stakes, and am committed to the fight, whatever it might take.
