“It is a hard to read a newspaper these days without encountering extreme rhetoric from liberals that can reasonably be construed by their followers as a call for violent action against conservatives.”
Indeed. They can’t refute us, so they assassinate our character. If that doesn’t silence us utterly, then they will move to do so physically. Here is a good summary piece from PowerLine on my adventure in Iceland last week.
“Robert Spencer Poisoned In Iceland,” by John Hinderaker, PowerLine, May 17, 2017:
I had been scheduled to attend an event tomorrow night with Robert Spencer, a prominent anti-jihadist, who was to be in Iceland until shortly before his visit to Minnesota. I got word that the event was canceled because Spencer had fallen ill, and then learned that he had, in fact, been poisoned.
Spencer describes what happened at PJ Media…
Spencer was able to deliver his speech to an audience of around 500 in Reykjavik, pretty impressive for a country whose population is only around 300,000. The press didn’t cover the speech, but rather focused on a handful of protesters. But Spencer was nevertheless pleased, and went out for dinner after his appearance.
I was quickly recognized: a young Icelander called me by name, shook my hand, and said he was a big fan. Shortly after that, another citizen of that famously courteous land likewise called me by my name, shook my hand, and said “f*** you.”…
Spencer believes that the young man who claimed to be a “big fan” poisoned his drink. At the link, he reproduces a copy of the police report (which, however, is in Icelandic). Spencer thinks he has been able to identify the poisoner through video from the restaurant, Facebook, etc. He comments on the climate of violence that the Left is fomenting throughout the West:
I learned my lesson. And the lesson I learned was that media demonization of those who dissent from the Leftist line is direct incitement to violence. By portraying me and others who raise legitimate questions about jihad terror and Sharia oppression as racist, bigoted “Islamophobes” without allowing us a fair hearing, they paint a huge target on the backs of those who dare to dissent.
Those who paint the targets, and those who shoot at them, think they’re doing something great. Not only does the Left fill those whom it brainwashes with hate, but it does so while portraying its enemies as the hatemongers, such that violent Leftists such as the young man who drugged me feel righteous as they victimize and brutalize for the crime of disagreement.
He is right. It is a hard to read a newspaper these days without encountering extreme rhetoric from liberals that can reasonably be construed by their followers as a call for violent action against conservatives. Where will it all end? I don’t know. But at some point, conservatives will have no choice but to fight back.
Berengaria says
The Leftists in every Country have become emboldened to strike out physically, against all those who are not towing the LeftWing Line.
Our Robert Spencer is recognized by Leftists as a High Profile Target & perhaps this “Icelander” is basking in the glory of his peers & “Country Officials, NOW”.
President Trump was right when he called the Left in DC, WitchHunters, but all of us must consider ourselves as targets of the WitchHunters, & in Robert’s case, One WitchHunter came for him in the guise of a “FAN”.
Please, Please be Careful.

This is the Air National Guard, but nonetheless – this is what we’re dealing with, even in the National Guard of a western state.

Such disturbing madness.

Someone could stand there with a smoking gun, a body at his feet and these leftist would say no one can be sure who killed the victim. Unless, of course, the victim was a Muslim and the supposed offender was not. Then he would be guilty even if he was defending himself against the Muslim. Oh, you say, that would never happen. No? Ask the Israelis. The phony “Palestinians” are innocent even when proven guilty and the non-Muslim guilty even if innocent. Some of us had hope that the US would prove to be a bulwark against Islam. People like Robert are doing their best. If I was US ambassador to Iceland there would be some serious repercussions, especially if this crime is whitewashed as the Iceland authorities seem intent on doing.

“But at some point, conservatives will have no choice but to fight back.”
Well, since leftists are almost all vehemently opposed to the Second Amendment and individual firearm ownership, and wholeheartedly support the United Nations Human Rights Council’s view that there is no such thing as an individual human right to self-defense, it looks like they are the ones in danger of bodily harm if they try to start trouble.

Robert Spencer presents the facts so well that what he says can not be disputed. The Left and Muslims have only propaganda and doctrine. They have no other skills. They have no critical thinking ability. They don’t understand how to debate. They can’t present a logical argument, so the only thing they can do is call their opponents names to shut them up. When that doesn’t work, they don’t know what else to do except try to stop their opponents in some other way, such as physical force, poisoning, etc. They truly are knuckle-draggers.

There is no evidence of a panic attack. I have not seen one. The drugs were confirmed. I agree that the leftist are very aggressive and everyone who is capable of using his brain for thinking has to be very careful. I am not sure who is more aggressive, leftist or the muzzies.

Robert, don’t bother with trolls like Bergur Ísleifsson. I’m well familiar with his kind — the cowardly apologist who would rather blame the weak and injured victim than the strong and intimidating perpetrator.

It is because of his people’s stupidity and blind nationalism that their radical, Leftist, Globalist governments can exercise absolute control over their gullible, sheep-like population.

Robert, do you still think you can remember the faces of the people that you met during that event in Iceland?
If so, then perhaps you should take a look at this picture I found of Bergur Isleifsson from the internet. Something tells me that his guy could’ve been the guy responsible (criminals often keep track of their victims’ activities).

Ted Tyler says
The only hard data that we have here is “There were drugs in the Urine” The rest is speculation – with most people drawing conclusions fitting their own personal agendas.
1. Did Robert Poison himself? – Highly unlikely
2. Was the poisoning done by an Icelander? – Likely
3. Was the poison intended for Robert? – Likely.
4. Was the level of poison intended to kill or just humiliate? – Unknown.
5. Could the level of drugs in his system produce symptoms of anxiety? This question should have an easy answer for a medical professional. However, as far as a panic attack goes, if I thought that I had been poisoned and was carted off to a hospital it is highly likely that I would have a panic attack simply due to my fear of hospitals.

simpleton1 says
A conspiracy theory, yeah, nahh.
Create another conspiracy theory. That is what you look like !
1) not poisoned in Iceland. which country was the hospital?
2) no serious poisoning the level was in the mild to just 1 point before serious. It also could have aggravated any condition that RS may have even unknowingly have had.
3) diagnosed with a panic attack. that is a symptom of more possibly more serious issues
4) not poisoned at all the first urine tests showed there was a poison of 2 drugs
5) not poisoned by an Icelander a reasonable possibility, but funnily enough there were Icelanders around, well RS was in Iceland
6) nor a leftist would allow for some motive like social justice warrior
7) nor anyone accidental carrying an illicit drug, if not prescribed, and some how swallows some, in that time period, sounds like a drug tripper
8) traces of MDMA and amphetamine … would like to know the level, but obviously endangering health as the Dr. had to put RS on a drip .
9) urine sample <so final the poison surfaces, sample probably ordered by the Dr.
10) no evidence anyone putting it into his drink it seems that you do not want an investigation into that possibility
11) not poisoned. …..no evidence of serious poisoning a sliding scale of poison, that fortunately did not trigger permanent damage or death
12) could……responsible for it yourself you mean prescribed? or more likely illicitly taken to taint RS’s name
13) no signs of serious poisoning, ……. was having a panic attack. “panic attack” is a symptom and RS was already into a mild state yet one point above serious, so would have to be treated to stabilize and monitored, , so that it would not cause long term problems
14) absolutely no “logic” in concluding… one does have to go through a search pattern of most likely possibilities, and proceed in elimination of suspects. The test result bares out that something was administered, and not accidentally.
15) no evidence that shows ….. drink was spiked. something was consumed, drink is logical as it could be dissolved. Perhaps the kitchen should be checked. Also all staff would be suspects, even if they are Icelanders, as well questioning RS friends.
16) urine test screens for traces of MDMA and amphetamine ….simply can not conclude…Icelanders Did RS and friends import these drugs, did they purchase them in Iceland, a country flooded with these drugs that are liberally around for other Icelanders.
17) probability …. is higher than any other possible explanation…. the MDMA and amphetamine got into his urine test. are you meaning the hospital contaminated the test, but do bear in mind that RS was exhibiting symptoms of that drug poisoning.
18) police report before concluding anything police will only investigate, if they believe there is a wrong doing. You do not seem to think there is any wrong doing, and if there is you seem to put it all on RS
19) further evidence or facts that an Icelander well he was in Iceland, and many Icelanders of left persuasion certainly detest him, just going by words used.
20) just his conspiracy theory, discrediting his theory with a loaded word “conspiracy”
21) no prove whatsoever that an Icelander poisoned Robert Spencer. it should be investigated as they were around
22) claim about an Icelander poisoning him is his conspiracy theory again influencing derogatory word
23) being responsible for the MDMA and amphetamine himself is another theory you have a simple plain theory
24) his friends that were there also could have slipped it into his drink….just that: Theory’s again another nice theory
25) “false positive” with all the nice possibilities of your authoritative grasping at straws, like the earlier hospital contamination
26) MDMA and amphetamine in his urine test….. simply not known at this time. but it does show drugs
27) …nothing stupid about my arguments….Icelander poisoning ….. conspiracy theory. the derogatory word of conspiracy, so do not investigate Icelanders. Arguments are grasping slim crazy possibilities.
28) conspiracy theory’s without facts….. Icelander poisoned . fact drug showed in test, It was done in Iceland where Icelanders live
29) how that got into his urine test none of us can say already you have inferred there was no drugs then RS, then his friends plus Icelandic hospital contamination
30) footage from the security camera(s) and the investigation is ongoing. one gets the feeling that you do not want the police to give a thorough and full investigation.
31) descriptions of .. interactions with the doctor … one-side opinion well the Dr’s view is there on record as you point out, and RS came in with all the symptons, heart racing, dehydrated, urine tests for 2 drugs
32) report does not prove in any way that an Icelander poisoned everybody is hoping there is thorough investigation, including Icelanders if need be and then the report will come out.
33) never said it “just accidentally wound up in…system.”….yet to be discovered how they wound up in his urine test. fudging with ‘false positive’ and contamination by Icelandic laboratory, and pointing to squirrels over there.
34) “No signs of serious poisoning” You can read the report in full here: yet it could easy compound with any other condition that RS could have had. Certainly a strain on his body.
35) came here to clarify the facts of this matter according to the medical report and exam and fudge and smear, with many obfuscations,
36) Icelander had poisoned….just .. assumption – .. conspiracy theory conspiracy theory rules the world
37) …finger at a completely innocent young man claiming he is a criminal, even a murderer. he certainly has a way with intemperate language.
39) I wanted to try to correct it. but it seems that Icelanders, left wingers, or any one should not be investigated. It will remains to be seen what evidence will turn up. The police will research and investigate or are you acting as a defense attorney and looking to snow ball the inquiry.
Not in strict chronological order of Bergur Ísleifsson comments.
All these are dots, may be possibilities, and in many parts refuted., like Bergur Ísleifsson claims of not being poisoned in Iceland, not poisoned at all.
All pointing to obfuscations, to mask, with red herrings, like using the word conspiracy theory, then just theories for some of his points.
So a good alibi may be needed for some Icelanders, then there could be conspiracy of import, distributing drugs, threatening behaviour etc. etc.
Would at this stage have to trust that Icelandic police, research all possibilities, and gainfully use any leads.
Motives, like anger and rage, opportunity, social justice, access to drugs, ego, on drugs.
ON DRUGS http://icelandreview.com/news/2017/01/06/reykjavik-fourth-highest-amphetamine plus MDMA increase, so one could wonder if the police are doing their job?
Can not be an Icelander, as Bergur Ísleifsson says, could be RS as a part of a self inflicted conspiracy, and even to further the conspiracy the Dr. could be protecting his a^*s as Dr.s are in Iceland are often threatened. http://icelandreview.com/news/2017/03/07/half-doctors-threatened-patients
As so many Icelanders are on prescription drugs, maybe they just dish them around, well after doors are slammed and some huff and puff.
http://icelandreview.com/news/2016/12/22/icelanders-record-users-prescription-drugs or just enquire on facebook http://icelandmonitor.mbl.is/news/news/2015/02/18/illegal_drugs_sold_on_icelandic_facebook_pages/

Apologies to other readers, as I started this, did not realize it would become so long, and decided to post as sort of too funny to edit as Bergur kept on going, digging a hole for all of Iceland.
And apologies to some good folk in Iceland too, as all can not be as callous as Robbi and Bergur. RS speech went ahead and protests seem to be civil.

I’d be interested to know Bergur Isleifsson’s motivation for his persistent denunciation of Robert’s claim. Is he a statistician merely trying to make a point? Is he a doctor defending the hospital report? Is he a Muslim, or an apologist for Islam who believes it is a ‘religion of peace’? Does he believe that jihadist attacks have ‘nothing to do with Islam’? Is he a politician or media man just following his Journalist’s Code of Conduct and being ever so politically correct? Does he believe that the abuse Robert received from that young man, was just a friendly Icelandic custom which meant no harm – and had no connection to Robert’s hospitalization? Or was this person – like so many others of his ilk around the world – just another leftist thug out for revenge?
Isleifsson says, “I don’t know what all of this means”. Then let me help him out. Robert (who is one of the most knowledgeable people about Islam) went to Iceland to warn the people there about Islamization – the most urgent problem facing Western civilization. And the useful idiots of the Left out there, were determined to shut him down – even before he spoke. When the protests outside the venue didn’t work, and the meeting was successful, one politically indoctrinated young psychopath decided to take revenge. There have been similar attacks on speakers against Islam, in almost every country in the world. Why should Iceland be an exception to the norm?
Logically, there is a remote possibility that Isleifsson might be correct. But given what took place, he would be wise not to gamble with those odds, or he’d soon be broke.

Liberal define: Self hating self loathing ,non-reasoning person who believes the death of Western way of life will bring happiness to uneducated savages , and his own personal life will remain untouched by these events. That thru some magic of everyone else giving up there free speech, personal beliefs, freedom to sing , make jokes , drink , get marry to anyone they want, leave a religion, take up new religion, have no religion , that he and his clan will remain untouched by the savages that rape, kill and oppress the masses of unwashed common people.

Bergur. A doctor can spin evidence and use euphemisms to describe serious and malicious events. What the doctor’s agenda would be in doing so, we don’t know, what we do know is that we over the years have quite a good understanding of the kind of fella Robert Spencer is.
And, if you use your scientific mind and do some empirical research you can come to the conclusion, that Robert Spencer is not the type to use MDMA or amphetamines on a recreational nor on any other basis. He is also not the type to have panic attacks. He is a very calculated, organised and honest mind. He only speaks the truth about Islam, uses quotes from the Koran, Hadiths and Imams to describe the evil tenets of Islam. He debates anyone. Yet, no one is able to refute his assertions about Islam.
Whatever his opponents have left is libel, ad hominem attacks and spreading falsehood.
Bergur. You are clearly trying to cover up. He was poisoned as MDMA and amphetamine traces don’t just show up out of thin air. Who poisoned him we will have to wait, but to assert it would RS himself or his friends is just ridiculous.
Kiel says
Despite the comments from a leftist, Bergur Isleifsson, there’s all the evidence of a poison attack on Robert Spencer. One has to be fact resistant to claim otherwise. The left is ideologically not that far from brown and black fascism as the average man tends to believe. When propaganda doesn’t work intimidation follows and finally you have the outright physical assault.
simpleton1 says
Ohh it is just a little bit of poison, can not be poison, as it seems BI may well be used to being on meds, whether possibly prescribed or maybe illicit.
Still RS felt the effects, and despite BI’s obfuscation it would be like being unwittingly raped. It was not RS’s choice to partake in drugs. The body reacts to when drugs enter it, with hyperventalition, racing/pounding heart, thirst,.etc..
The Dr. just tells you, “that you are a little bit pregnant” when the test results came in, and it is really no problem, as he has you on the drip, telling you “not to panic”.
RS was just one point away from Severe hyponatremia which can cause damage, lead to coma, and can be fatal.
Treatment of hyponatremia involves timely intravenous fluid and electrolyte replacement, which is what the Dr, did, and so RS stabilized.
There did not seem to be any underlying causes, and no previous episodes or medicines though the Dr. did seem to try come up with some possible angles of conjecture, but the fact of the matter was the drugs in the urine.
Is a “trace” in BI words, after a bit of time a good measure? and the medical report says that RS being thirsty had drank some water. It seems it would quite possibly under estimate what amount of drugs were given, and to consider that if no timely intravenous fluid had occurred.
It showed positive, not a “trace”, it is like being raped and becoming a little bit pregnant, like a few tricked meds is ok? yeah right.
Rape is a serious crime, as is slipping some one some drugs, even if you believe it is supposedly an ok “trace amount” to give a buzz.
BI never really denounced the act of poisoning, and edged all the way along as others out scored BI in debate.
I would not be surprised that the investigation may not bring up enough evidence as cctv cameras may be limited and it seems that there will be little said in an interview with the police.
An earlier rambling comment of mind is in moderation, (too many links I think) and when it comes out of moderation will show that amphetamine and MDMA which is on the increase and the Dr.s prescribe quite freely in Iceland.
TL says
Several questions come to mind: Who is the examining doctor? Is the doc a leftist, multicultie, etc? Or sympathetic to Islam? Is the doc supervised, managed, or paid by a leftist, multicultie, Islamophile, etc? Were the doc or supervisor(s) aware of Spencer’s identity during the exam or at any time before publication of the medical report?
simpleton1 says
Hjalti Már Björnsson was the physician.
Robert Spencer says
I do think he knew who I was and was not happy. He was quite unfriendly and dishonest with me, never mentioning the MDMA in my system. I only found out about it when I read the report later.
TL says
Is Björnsson a government employee? Medical doctors tend to be oily arrogant people anyway (their trade is a protected racket), and being a dependent cog in a machine would worsen the deformation of his character. He would have to make many little compromises with bureaucracy out of fear of losing his living.

Ballantine1979 says
Bergur Ísleifsson said:
“No, you were not poisoned. Your test showed no evidence of serious poisoning.”
A non-serious poisoning is still poisoning. Bergur’s two sentences contradict each other. And then what is the definition of a poisoning that is not “serious”? Can anyone find a non-serious poisoning listed at the 2017 ICD-10-CM codes (http://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes)?
Ballantine1979 says
If Bergur Ísleifsson were the Icelandic version of Sherlock Holmes, there would never be any solved murders in Iceland. Bergur is refusing to incorporate deduction based on plausibility.
For example, ruling out the less plausible theories–that Spencer would have a panic attack after never having a panic attack before even under more frightening or stressful circumstances in the past; that Spencer would lie about never having a panic attack; that Spencer took the drugs himself and then lied about it; that Spencer’s friends or associates spiked his drink; or that the drugs fell from the rafters accidentally into Spener’s drink. Bergur refuses to concede that all of these are less likely than the other equally possible cause, that someone who wants him scared or dead deliberately spiked his drink. This is also made more plausible by the fact that Spencer has had numerous death threats over the years and has to have bodyguards when he speaks in public. Then we also factor in that extreme Leftist activists are prone to violence.
Bergur doesn’t have to let go of his main point about the facts he keeps hammering over and over, but his refusal to concede that one scenario explaining the facts is the most likely, and that any other explanation is less likely, makes him seem either obtuse or to have ulterior motives.
