In Mindanao. This is a global war, and of the most curious type imaginable: no one in authority wants to admit that it is actually going on, and Western governments generally treat each enemy attack in this war as a separate and discrete criminal incident.
“Philippines soldiers battle Isis-linked gunmen on Marawi city streets,” by Gabriel Samuels, Independent, May 23, 2017:
A group of heavily-armed militants from a group linked to Isis have reportedly stormed a city in the Philippines and engaged in firefights with the national army.
Residents of Marawi City, in the south of the country, were urged to remain indoors as at least 15 gunmen from a Muslim rebel group called Maute stormed the streets brandishing assault rifles.
The group, which is also known as the Islamic State of Lanao, have reportedly received support from Isis.
Troops and a special police force were deployed to the city after residents in a nearby village raised the alarm and appealed for help.
President Rodrigo Duterte then declared martial law and a state of emergency in the province of Mindano [sic]. General Eduardo Ano, the military chief of staff, said at least one police officer was killed and eight soldiers were wounded in the fighting.
“I’m appealing to residents of Marawi City to stay home, drop on the ground if they hear gunshots,” Mamintal Adiong Jr, the governor of the Lanao del Sur province told The Philippine Star newspaper. “They have to lock their doors and gates too.”
Local reports suggested that the militants had entered a local hospital and raised a black Isis flag above the roof, although this information was officially verified by the army.
Witnesses reported seeing men in attire similar to that worn by Isis militants walking the streets before firing at houses and government buildings….

The 1919 colt semi auto pistol was made for American troops and issued in 1919,for the Philippines conflict American troops were station there to fighter Moslem,s that want a separate country. The standard at that time was a 38 cal. the trouble was the rebels were suicide bombs ,the 38 would not stop them fast enough. The US issued the 45 to put them down before they reach the troops.

Philippines: Martial law declared as Islamic State jihadis storm city and battle national army
…………………
This is *terrifying*. I knew there was an ongoing Jihad in the Philippines, but I had no idea they were this strong. Marawi is a major city of over 200,000 people–about the size of Orlando, Florida; Buffalo, New York; Reno, Nevada; or Garland, Texas.
One thing I did not know and was shocked to learn is that Marawi is officially the “Islamic City of Marawi”. Its crest features a Mosque and banner in Arabic. It is 99.6% Muslim.
The distribution of alcoholic products and gambling is forbidden and women must cover their heads, though non-Muslims are supposed to be exempt from this rule. I have to admit I was not aware that the Philippines had allowed the imposition of Shari’ah law. *Very* disturbing.
The question is whether residents there will actually resist being taken over by the Islamic State. Many may well welcome these invading thugs.

As long as they just stick to Mindanao island (and better still the Gensan area) the rest of the Philippines should be able to get on with their lives in complete safety – civilians should be moved out of Gensan then an MOAB dropped on the ISIS camp – job done.

My wife is from Illigan City. She says most residents of Marawi City are armed, but unless there is a coordinated effort from govt and police for protection, they will hide as all of us would do.

“Western governments generally treat each enemy attack in this war as a separate and discrete criminal incident” – yes, and not only that, they tellingly treat each complaint about the enemy’s actions and motivating ideology as a hate crime. And continue to *knowingly* import followers of the enemy ideology. And ban critics like Robert Spencer. It’s almost like Muslims are their (arm’s-length) troops brought in to destroy our national cohesion…
When “incidents” (as described by police spokesman Ian Hopkins) like Manchester occur, the powerful treat Muslim terrorists like the corrupt policeman in league with the Mafia – when his hand is forced by catching a Mafioso in an overt criminal act in public, he goes as soft as he reasonably can without being suspected of being an accomplice. Meanwhile he never does *anything* to actually stop Mafia crime, but on the contrary foils such plans, and sits back to watch such crime grow in scope.
The politicians, their selected police appointees, and MSMedia-scum are clearly enjoying every minute of the havoc their Muslims are wreaking on us, and the power-trip of treating entire nations like their own conflict-driven reality shows. Presumably they also stand to gain from globalist corporate interests by destroying our national cohesion as well.

A nation that has successfully confronted its drug barons in recent times will find itself battle hardened to strike a blow to Islamic Terror not just in the south of the country but throughout its many cities and towns.
This could be the Philippines greatest social challenge in a century.
