This is the full text of what Sheriff Tracy Murphree wrote on Facebook Monday night:
Pay attention to what you see in Manchester England tonight. Pay attention to what is happening in Europe. This is what happens when you disarm your citizens. When you open your borders without the proper vetting. When you allow political correctness to dictate how you respond to an enemy that wants to kill you. When you allow these radicals to travel to Afghanistan and Iran and simply let them back in. When you give up your city’s and your neighborhoods to a religious ideology that says you must convert or die. A ideology that treats women as property, kills gays and women and christians with complete impunity. The left tells us we must submit and accept these radical beliefs and bend over backwards to make sure we don’t hurt anybody’s feelings. The left wants to cater to the very group that would kill every group they claim to support. Folks this is an enemy hell bent on killing you. Committed to forcing you to convert or die. This enemy will strap bombs to their own body and blow themselves up killing children. I’m sick of it. You better wake up America. While you are distracted by the media and the crying of the left, Islamic Jihadist are among us and want to kill you. What will it take? This happening at a concert in Dallas or a school in Denton County? If we don’t do something quick this country will die of political correctness and the fear that someone’s feelings may be hurt. It may very well be to late for Europe.
What in what he said was wrong? Every bot of it is demonstrably true and confirmed by daily headlines. But in an indication of how brainwashed people are these days, the first comment at Facebook says: “I’ll pay attention to the bigger threat here at home from ARMED, WHITE ‘patriots’ that act like children. Grow up Sir… Not surprised you are from Texas. The sphincter of the United States.” The idea that “armed, white ‘patriots'” pose a bigger threat than jihadis is a myth of the establishment media that has been exploded by reality.
Meanwhile, Hamas-linked CAIR is enraged at Sheriff Murphree, which is extremely odd, since ostensibly CAIR is a “moderate” group that rejects all the acts committed by Muslims that Murphree enumerates as “extremism” stemming from a “hijacking” of the Islamic faith. Isn’t Hamas-linked CAIR against saying “convert or die” to infidels, and treating women as property, and killing gays and women and Christians with impunity? Apparently not.
“Denton sheriff defends Facebook post after Manchester attack,” by Ryan Osborne, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, May 23, 2017 (thanks to Jerk Chicken):
A North Texas sheriff who criticized “the left” and “political correctness” in a Facebook post after Monday’s terror attack in Manchester, England, defended his comments Tuesday.
“I stand behind it,” Denton County Sheriff Tracy Murphree told NBC 5. “We need to be realistic about the world we live in.”
The Manchester bombing, which happened at the end of an Ariana Grande concert, left at least 22 dead, including an 8-year-old girl. Manchester police identified the bomber as 22-year-old Salman Abedi, a British native who died in the attack.
Murphree’s Facebook post about 10 p.m. Monday implored Americans to “pay attention to what is happening in Europe.”
“This is what happens when you disarm your citizens,” Murphree wrote. “When you open your borders without the proper vetting. When you allow political correctness to dictate how you respond to an enemy that wants to kill you. When you allow these radicals to travel to Afghanistan and Iran and simply let them back in.”
Murphree’s supporters praised him for “speaking and standing up for the truth,” as one comment said, while his critics accused him of fearmongering and ignorance.
The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter for the Council for Islamic Relations issued a news release calling Murphree’s post an “Islamaphobic rant.”
“We call on Sheriff Murphree to reaffirm his pledge, and that of his officers, to serve and protect all Denton County residents regardless of their faith, ethnicity or national origin,” CAIR-DFW Civil Rights Director Nikiya Natale said in a statement.
In his interview with NBC 5, Murphree said, “A lot of folks want to make it a race issue. And to me, it’s not a race issue. It’s a public safety issue.”…
