I’ll put up video of Trump’s speech as soon as it is available; he has finished now but the live streams are still covering the speeches of various Muslim leaders. Trump called upon the assembled dignitaries to drive the jihadis out of the countries and out of their places of worship. What will he do when they do not comply?
“Trump: Muslim states must lead in fighting radicalization,” Reuters, May 21, 2017:
RIYADH – Muslim-majority countries must take the lead in combating radicalization, US President Donald Trump said in a speech to leaders from 55 Muslim countries in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
He also said that Arab nations had suffered the deadliest toll of “fanatical violence” and that there was a humanitarian and security disaster that was spreading in the region…
Don Davenport says
What will he do when they don’t comply? Remind them that Islam is a “religion of peace” and radical acts committed by those who “hijack” are not nice.

Twist their arms economically.

I hope he will. We have not seen this yet, though.

Muslims lead the fight against radicalisation and drive out the jihadis? Would they have put Al Capone in charge of Chicago Neighbourhood Watch? And the next brilliant suggestion, please?

I think the man is clueless. Not supporting him anymore.
Alarmed Pig Farmer says
Of course he’s clueless. All of them are. At least he senses that something’s up with the hairy people, that there’s a pattern.

The best case scenario for us is harsh Moslem dictatorships holding their respective populations in check through brutal suppression. Ain’t pretty, but it’s true. Trump’s speech did so much good by implying that with his statement that Moslem states must control radicalization. Sure the idea of radicalization is absurd and misleading, even dangerous. But so what? Everything is dangerous when it comes to Moslems. We need strong brutal dictatorships to hold them in check. Trouble is, that’s in Dar al-Islam, and the call is not extended to the democracies up in Eurabia.

Of course, Saudi Arabia is a brutal dictatorship, and that did not stop them from backing 9/11.

I had a Trump bumper sticker on my car for over a year. I removed it today.

Completely and utterly unrealistic…doomed to failure…

Trump: Muslim states must lead in fighting “radicalization”
………………..
Unfortunately, such “radicalization” is just the devout practice of Islam. Muslim states are not going to fight that.
John McCall says
I have never before commented on this site, or any other for that matter. I think Trump’ s speech was brilliant because he spoke in generalities yet left the guilty in no doubt about who is responsible for the atrocities committed daily…… his audience.

So that means he told Saudi not to fund any more mosque building in the west and to stop imposing hate preachers on those mosques along with the hate literature that is also sold in those Saudi funded mosques?
If he did not, why not? Because as we all know Saudi is also a state sponsoring a radical form of Islam.
I support Trump in his efforts to stop radical Islamic terrorism but he has to face down one of the biggest sponsors of radicalization if he is to have any credibility in this matter.
UNCLE VLADDI says
He’s delusional (or playing a long game, setting the stage for later).
The speech was a TOTAL FAIL – and here’s both how and why:
Here’s what Trump SHOULD have said to the Saudis:

And Here’s what he DID say to the Saudis:
