What a comic opera absurdity. Did President Trump ask King Salman where the churches and synagogues and Hindu temples were in Saudi Arabia? Did he ask the sinister little king how his exhibition of tolerance and coexistence among different faiths squared with the Saudi Grand Mufti’s calling for the demolition of churches? Did he ask Salman about Muhammad’s order as recorded in a hadith: “I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.” (Sahih Muslim 19.4366)? Did he request, as a foreign head of state, the honor of being given a tour of Mecca, including a look inside the Ka’aba, and then ask how the fact that he is not allowed to enter Mecca since he is not a Muslim squared with this claim of “tolerance and coexistence among different faiths”?
Of course he didn’t. He went along with the charade, as Bush and Obama would have done. Who knows, he may yet praise Islam’s glorious tradition of tolerance while he is still in the Kingdom of the Two Holy Places. It looks as if he has fallen headlong into the swamp, and the hungry gators have gathered around for a good meal.

But the Trumps did bend over backward. Excerpts from Al-Arabiyya news:
US First Lady Melania Trump praised for ‘elegantly respectful’ KSA look
The loose outfit almost resembled the traditional black abaya — a loose over-garment, essentially a robe-like dress — worn by Saudi women. ….I saw her arrival pictures wearing a modest outfit respecting our culture…..
Terry says
What would you want her to wear? A micro-mini and see through blouse? ALMOST RESEMBLED- sounds awkward. And, did you expect a newspaper (not in the US or the west, of course-there- they will never say anything positive about Trump or his family) to say her outfit was insulting to their culture?
It is called being diplomatic ( and polite).

We can sell Saudi Arabia fifteen gazillion dollars worth of advanced weaponry, but the Saudis, in all probability, will never use any of it, but will, rather, turn tail and abandon It all to any adversary perceived by them to pose a serious threat, such as some Iranian-backed proxy (or an actual well-trained and fanatical Iranian contingent) or any one of hard-line Muslim groups, Sunni included, who are willing to die to establish a caliphate and take down the House of Saud in order to do so. The Saudi default plan Is to cry for help from the U.S., preferring kafirs, whose lives are worthless anyway, to do their fighting for them. And our government is so clueless that we will probably comply, without even demanding any quid pro quos , such as immediate and full cessation of funding of mosques and university departments – these demands should be non-negotiable. But the Saudis are, of course, our allies, after all…right?

I doubt that SA will use weapons against Israel. They share intelligence; and have a mutual desire to destroy Iran.
Incidentally-speaking of Iran- a few weeks ago (perhaps middle or towards the end of April) Iran accused Russia of giving Israel the computer codes to the missile defense system that Russia sold Iran. I have not seen a Russian (or Israeli) response (nor do I expect one). (It was in an Israeli or Jewish blog- JWR or JTA –Jewish World Review or Jewish Telegraphic Agency–I beleive).

THERE IS NO EQUALITY IN ISLAM according to the concept of blood money in Saudi Arabia.
If a person has been killed or caused to die by another, the latter has to pay blood money or compensation, as follows.
100,000 riyals if the victim is a Muslim man
50,000 riyals if a Muslim woman
50,000 riyals if a Christian man
25,000 riyals if a Christian woman
6,666 riyals if a Hindu man
3,333 riyals if a Hindu woman
According to this hierarchy, a Muslim man’s life is worth 33 times that of a Hindu woman. This hierarchy is based on the Islamic definition of human rights and is rooted in the Quran and Sharia (Islamic law).

Alien Republican, here’s more on Diya (blood money) in Islam–including its inequality:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diya_(Islam)
JIMJFOX says
Diya (Arabic: دية, plural diyāt) in Islamic law, is the financial compensation paid to the victim or heirs of a victim in the cases of murder, bodily harm or property damage. It is an alternative punishment to qisas (equal retaliation).
NOTE the last sentence- blood money may be paid ONLY if agreed to by the victim’s family- otherwise it is DEATH.
gravenimage says
But it’s only death if the victim was a Muslim. Killing Infidels is usually lauded.

At least Melania and Ivanka wasn’t swathed in Abeyas, and the Saudis were forced to accept Jewish people entering the country.
Terry says
Several years ago, Saudi Arabia had a prize (not sure if it was a one or two time thing, or it goes on annually) for doctors and/or scientists who make medical breakthroughs. And a Jewish scientist won it. He and his wife and children were invited to go to SA to get the prize, and the money. The man called the Saudi embassy, and said that he was Jewish, as was his wife and children. All had been to Israel, and their passports said so.
He was told, that is not a problem, he and his family were issued visas. At the Saudi airport-the people there just waived the family through. They had dinner with the royal family. Were treated well.
I am not sure, but I think that they told the doctor that they would be sure that all of the food was glatt kosher (extra kosher-).
Henry Kissinger, while and after he was Sec. Of State was welcome in SA also. And he is Jewish.
gravenimage says
Terry, Sydney Brenner was considered to be the first Jew to win the King Faisal Award, in 1992. Ronald Levy, another Jew, won in 2009.
It probably would have been too embarrassing to block them from entering the country. For the same reason, it would have been impossible to deny entry to the country to the American Secretary of State.
Officially, Saudi Arabia bars those who hold Israeli passports from entering the country. If a few exceptions have been made, that does not change the fact. And, of course, no Infidels are allowed in Mecca.
Saudi Arabia systematically discriminates against women and Infidels.
Terry says
Graven–Dr. Kissinger went back to SA as a private citizen also. And, according to a Saudi Prince ( who said that he was involved, along with King Abdullah, in getting/ and the Saudis to agree, to let EL AL planes fly over Saudi airspace to rescue the Ethiopian Jews.

I believe that it was IRANIAN SURROGATES who started the current war in Yemen-note the Pres. of Yemen is living in Saudi Arabia, and the Saudis want the Iranians and their surrogates (preferably) dead, but if not, out of there.

Terry, the Saudis invaded Yemen because most of the Yemenis happen to be a sect of Shia Islam. It is logical and makes good sense for the Houthis to seek help from the Shia Iran as their Arab “brothers” turned against them.

I agree — this is a contemptible farce, a theatre of the absurd. Saudi Arabia won’t even let non-Muslims visit Mecca, an act of infantile, primitive, and insecure discrimination akin to the Vatican banning non-Catholics from Vatican City, or, Israel banning non-Jews from visiting Jerusalem.
And, as Robert observes, where is non-Islamic religious pluralism to be found in Saudi Arabia? What about the persecution, violence and oppression that non-Muslims endure, daily, in Islamic states throughout the world, from Egypt to Pakistan to Bangladesh to Indonesia to Lebanon, to name only a few?
If Trump is going to promote the same fallacious, theologically and historically dishonest whitewashing of centuries-old Islamic doctrine and theology as his predecessors, a doctrine that is underpinning Islamic violence, today, then this entire trip is a profound waste of time. Trump needs to hold the Saudis’ feet to the fire and make them uncomfortable.

Thank you. Two (or one, depending upon how one sees it).
Ivanka Trump and Mr. Kushner (Mr. Kushner born Jewish, Ivanka Trump a convert to Judaism), and she did not cover herself, and there was (apparently) no objection to Mr. Kushner being there.
As to Mrs. Trump’s wearing black, not wearing a crucifix or cross, etc–two things.
1.. Whose business is it what she wears, as long as she is presentable- and did not bow down and wear the head wrapping and garbage bag? As to a crucifix or not-her prerogative. And, no need to be insulting. (I don’t know, nor care, if she normally wears one, or not. But if not-normally wearing one- might be considered insulting. I am sure that when she is in Israel, if she accompanies the Pres. to the Western Wall, she will also dress appropriately.
2. Jacqueline Kennedy, when she was the First Lady, said a well dressed woman -basic black is usually best. I despised the Kennedy’s ( and still do), but she was a good symbol of what a First lady should be (as opposed, to say, Michelle Obama).
Mrs. Trump does not have to dress to please commentators to a blog

Right now I’m glad Trump did not start in on any rhetoric with the Sauddis that he does not know enough about. Just make the deal, nod, smile and begone. This time.
If any of you want Trump to show up and instantly confront Islam without the proper advice or knowledge you’re not looking past this one single event. Pressure can applied in other ways than opening ones mouth on a personal visit (especially Trumps mouth) and I’m certainly glad he and Melania came as they are. No head bag. No hand kissing. We do have an obligation to show civility especially when Trump and his supporters are painted by the press and our tolerantv Liberal friends as having none.
Would all the critics be happy if he said “the Quran has directives for murder, what about the other religions not represented here and Jihad is the biggest problem in the world look at Muslims in Europe raping everyone”. That’d be the Trump I don’t want speaking without proper advisement. I’d be happy if he did but not on this trip and not in the crude campaign Trump way. Politics, money, resources deal with it.

There it goes again- “mustn’t offend muslims”. [LO! I have been made victorious through terror].
And it still works; which is why we are in the current mess. Islam NEEDS to be offended, & ridiculed
for that matter. Of course, to do that requires courage, something lacking in the West. Plus the clear
policy of instant retaliation for all acts of jihad AND for every ‘fatwa’ by some islamic nutjob.
But no- appeasement will work, according to most. We have learnt nothing from history, have we?

And isn’t it just possible that there is more going on here strategically than you can imagine? Is this part of a bigger plan, the details of which we are ignorant, that might help solve the problem? My point is that, if you wait for another country to conform to your own culture before you deign work with it, then you will never work with it, and no progress or improvement will ever be possible.

Indeed the exhibit and the headline is a farce. However a total of $350 Billion for American industry and workers is not a farce. Nor is encouraging/enabling more Saudi push back against Iran to keep the moslems battling amongst themselves. Ideally this continues to develop as a self-perpetuating moslem vs moslem low boil war that greatly profits American companies not only in the defense industry, but also American oil companies whose fracking projects and rapid strides to energy independence have all suffered under artificially low oil prices.
You people here on Jihad Watch are approaching this from an ideological standpoint, not a practical standpoint. Just like Obama, but the other side of the coin. Trump does not have that handicap to his thinking. This is all about bringing home the loot and advancing American interests in the region while reducing American blood and treasure commitments where possible.
No doubt there will be more hand-wringing and agonizing around here after his big speech tomorrow. Just try and remember: it’s just lip-service. Obama believed his own shit when it came to Islam. Trump does not. It’s all just words to make a sale with him.
gravenimage says
Don–with all respect–the idea that the most important thing is ‘making a sale’ with the savages behind 9/11 is rather questionable.
Keys says
Don McKellar-
Gotta keep an eye on these Saudi weasels.
Though I agree with you on the “benefts” of this $350 billion deal for us ((USA), I don’t want to pay for it with higher gas prices like we helped pay for 100s of new mosques, Islamic Centers in our cities and at our universities, financial support for Islamic political interests, money for Muslim organizations (CAIR, etc.), lobbying, bribes, etc ……
It costs SA less than $9 per barrel including transportation. “According to data from energy industry consultant Rystad Energy, on average it cost Saudi Arabia less than $9 to produce a barrel of oil last year. That’s the cheapest in the world, though fellow OPEC countries Iran and Iraq can produce for around $10 per barrel as well, which is well below rival nations …”
Demsci says
About those oil prices. I would contend that they were, before 2008, and again before mid 2014, if not artificially high, then surely very unjustly and catastrophically high, up 115 $ a barrel. Due to that damned cartel OPEC, in collusion with Russia. Of course you know the price of oil is worldwide the same everywhere.
Often in the last 3 years it is published, I believe from CIA-sources, what oil price the Oil-exporting countries need, just to break even. And Saudi Arabia needed 90 $ per b. I believe. Russia also. Both these countries and Iran and Venezuela and many others are in big deficit-mode and in financial crisis, although Saudi Arabia can hold out a long time on its huge reserves. But in all likelihood the oil price will not recover it’s former heights.
But when a country needs to import oil, per saldo, a lower oilprice of necessity is more beneficial than a higher one, it seems to me. So it seems to me the lower the price the worse it is for our enemies and the better it is for us democratic nations.
The shale fracking companies were what cost the dramatic decrease of the oil price mid 2014. And since prices fell they have made huge progress in efficient oil winning. And Bloomberg news, Economist and other media keep informing us about what the break even price for the fracking companies is. And they now tell us that the price of oil may get to 40 to 50 $ per barrel and then fracking would still be profitable, though far less prophitable than this price is for the Saudi’s and other exporters of the cheap oil that can be drilled for the cost of 9 to 10 $.
And the media point out that there still is a huge glut of oil in the world. And that the oil-export-cartel is powerless. And that the moment prices soar, shale oil production will soar (with a small delay) which will decrease oil price again.
So we owe a great thanks to the fracking companies, but still, the lower the oil price the better.
Keys says
Demsci-
Accoeding to this report it is nowhere near $90 per barrel for SA to break even on oil production. I’d be interested to see where you got that figure.
Closer to $9 per barrel for all costs involved except, of course, refining it.
See this link:
http://markets.businessinsider.com/commodities/news/how-much-it-costs-both-saudi-arabia-and-the-us-to-produce-oil-2017-3-1001868041
The USA imports about 1 million barrels per day from them, as far as I can tell. That’s about 10-11% of our total daly usage, if I remember correctly without googling it again.

Wellington says
I pretty much second what you have written, IQ, though I remain wary of the Russians in large part because they tend to be wary of all others to the point of paranoia, accompanied ordinarily by more than a little xenophobia. Oh, the Russians are a great people in their own right, but there is a major flaw in the collective Russian soul and it has to do with their woeful understanding of freedom, which flaw so often in Russia’s history has worked to Russia’s disadvantage——-and to the disadvantage of others, like the Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, et al.
Once again I will cite what that very wise man, George Kennan, observed, to wit, that the Russians look upon their neighbors as vassals or enemies. So true. So very true. Damn shame it is but it is. Still, I have long wanted and argued for optimal Russo-American relations. Would be best for both countries.
As for the Democratic Party, I essentially consider it an enemy of America, trying to undo what the American Revolution was all about——-freedom and limited government. The Democratic Party of the USA wants more and more government and less freedom. Anyone who doesn’t see this is metaphorically blind.
Always good to read your posts. Take care.
Terry says
IQ–I am not aware (obviously) if you (or JW or the posters here)– a few months ago, a high level delegation from Saudi Arabia went to Israel, and were there for several days- pictures of their (the Saudi’s plane) landing at an Israeli AF Base were around. (Somewhere, in a different email account, I might still have it). The Saudis met with high level Israelis.
In meetings that lasted several days, I SERIOUSLY DOUBT that they were discussing which countries look the best for the next World Cup. And the only comment that I saw was, both sides said the meetings were “productive”.
Also, a few decades ago, (unofficially) the late King Abdulla, allowed El Al jets to fly over (in? I don’t know proper terminology) Saudi air space, to rescue the Ethiopian Jews, from being annihilated by Muslims. The flight time from Addis Abbaba (capital of Ethiopia) to Tel Aviv (Ben Gurion airport) was cut by about 90 minutes each way- and time was of the essence.
A Saudi prince, who was one of those (another was the king) approval (a few years after the event) spoke about it, in a television interview.

Demsci says
Yes, I concur, IQ. Almost wholly.
But in order to frame the geopolitical threat posed by Islam and Muslims in a positive way, I am always searching for what it is that we DO WANT, as opposed to what it is that we DO NOT WANT.
And so far I ‘ve come up with the dichotomy Islam-Democracy. We could be against Islam precisely because we more and more realise how precious Democracy and all of it’s accompanying effects is. So to me Islam is not so much a threat to humanity but to democracy and happiness and best development of humanity.
I always keep in mind the timeline; Islam came upon mankind in the 7th century (although more likely it was completed much much later, even in the 10th century). It was enlightenment and present day Democracy (as opposed to Greek Democracy) that came long after that, say in the 18th century. And this was a YUGE improvement for humanity, with YUGE benefits, I think we agree on.
From the standpoint of Muslims then, it is “Democracy” that is anti-Islam. And this should be emphasized to our leftist fellow citizens, who are so ignorant as to be “Democratic” but at the same time support that ideology that views Democracy as bad, in a very conservative way. Not that the leftists (who portray themselves as progressive) will listen to/ understand this.
Demsci says
And when we view the complex world situation in a simplified way, and see the triangle: Western Democratic Nations, Islamic nations&Organisations (or the Ummah) and 3rd party Russia (a very UN-democratic nation), then yes, by all means it is better to align with the Russians against Islam
than it is to align with Islam against the Russians, as was Ronald Reagan’s policy, but that was in a much different situation. And precisely because leftists (members of Democratic Party in US) seem hell bent on defending Islam and Muslims, these now seem also to prefer to make Russia the bigger threat and enemy, it seems to me.

Must be a tiny exhibit….In this spot, on this wall: “islam, saudi brand” and over here….”…….” (nothing)

‘Escaping troubles in DC, Trump basks in lavish Saudi welcome’
He is the only American president to make Saudi Arabia — or any Muslim-majority nation — his first overseas trip

McMaster suggests Trump won’t say ‘radical Islamic terrorism’ in speech

Yes–just appalling–and completely contrary to what Trump promised. I’m disturbed to see this.
SV says
Did you expect trump to arrive via dog sled waving a copy of Charlie Hebdo to announce the new Crusade? God forbid he “views” an bullshit exhibit in the host country. Is that all it takes to become the new enemy #1? Viewing something?
Terry says
SV– I agree with you.
And some of the comments- such as first pres to visit a Muslim majority country first- so what?
Perhaps, JUST PERHAPS, WHEN PLANNING THE TRIP, HIS PEOPLE SPOKE TO THEIR EQUIVALENTS IN THE OTHER COUNTRIES, AND WORKED THE SCHEDULES TO BEST SUIT EVERYONE.
Does Sean Spicer have to have a press conference to announce that? So CNN ( and it seems posters on JW) can read all sorts of nefarious things into it?
gravenimage says
I don’t think visiting one of our enemies first is a wise move.
Baucent says
I wonder if we will ever hear Trump utter the phrase “Radical Islamic Terrorism” again?
I’m sure his National Security Advisor will be schooling him in the more “inclusive” and less offensive “Radical Extremism”.
Geoffrey Britain says
Look at Trump’s body language and the expression on his face.
He knows he’s being fed a load of crap.
My guess is that’s he’s biting his tongue.
Simple civility as a guest forbids rudeness. That’s known as showing a bit of class. Plus, there’s that $110-350 BILLION deal… that he doesn’t want to upset. That’s known as realpolitik. Yes, arguments can be made for and against the arms deal. Clearly he decided that the money and jobs were better for America than going to Russia or China. An arguable but valid point. The Saudis are snakes but the Mullah’s are arguably worse. And the Saudis will not be attacking Israel because the Saudis need to know that if needed, they can call upon American military support.
Let’s see what he says tomorrow in his speech. Let’s see what Trump does about Saudi stealth jihad. They say they’re against terrorism, by holding them to that standard, it limits how treacherous they can act.
Sarah says
Wow how disappointing. Why on earth would he be hobnobbing with those primitive desert dwellers? All it does is continue to perpetuate the sheer lie about Islam.
And all roads, with Islam, lead back to Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam. Islam itself, is riddled with Arab cultural elements – and yet there is the ‘leader of the free world’ who was elected as a big F you to Washington AND because he made a whole heap of promises, some of them directly regarding Islam and its ever-present dangers, shaking hands and nodding along and viewing so-called ‘art’ relating to that festering pit of depravity, that is Islam and that is, Saudi Arabia.
If Trump meant what he said, he wouldn’t even fly into that hellhole, let alone kiss their asses. I’d be so disappointed right now, if I were one of his American voters.
That gout riddled ‘king’ with his teatowel and dressing gown has caused the suffering and misery of countless hundreds of millions of people around the world. He caused the death of countless human beings. He and his family’s sheer greed for the obscene amount of cash they roll around in, is the direct cause of why the civilized world is experiencing all the filth obscene horrors of Islam today.
That fat old perverted idiot is worth nothing more than two in the back of the head. And yet, there is Trump trotting alongside him. It reminds me of that fat idiot’s recent visit to Indonesia. Where he dragged a couple hundred slaves along for the ride (oh excuse me, I meant servants), a few hundred tonne’s of luggage (that’s a lot of dressing gowns and tea towels) and a fleet of luxury cars (what Indonesia couldn’t rummage up a few Bentley’s?) – all via plane no less, so that he could stumble and drag his obese backside around Indonesia, promising them billions in Wahhabist cash (blood drenched money) and a few extra places for the inferior Indonesian Muslims who want to do their pilgrimage to throw some rocks at a stone and circle around it a few times, whilst risking being crushed to death by hordes of others with the same plan.
That utter mouth breathing moron President, Joko Widodo was right alongside him, bowing obsequiously at every step, rubbing his hands together in glee at the idea of that cash being pumped into his 3rd world hellhole. He looked then, very much like Trump looks right now. Another moron bending over backwards to supplicate himself to this so-called ‘king’ who presides over what is possibly the filthiest, most primitive and sickening culture on the planet today.
It makes me sick. The Arab’s only have the power they do, because we buy their oil. We let them have that power. We could turn the tables overnight, and even still keep buying the stuff from them, if we so chose. It makes me wonder as to why we allow ourselves to be so submissively compliant to them. There is more in play here than that.
Joeyn says
President Trump seems to be doing the same thing as his predecessors, that is only dealing with the violent Jihad while giving in to all other forms of Jihad. This is really a big let down since it is the other forms of Jihad which are causing the biggest damage to Western civilization. I really hope that there is someone in his administration who can talk some sense into him regarding this matter before it is too late.

Did the exhibit have a big wall map showing the locations of all those many Christian churches, Jewish synagogues, Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh temples?

It would have to be an exhibition. There is no reality of tolerance to show in Saudi Arabia

Arms deal and then the aid for countries the Saudis destroy…

”Trump views exhibit on religious tolerance in Saudi Arabia, which allows only Islam ?” Can tou believe it ???!!!
A 110 billion dollars weapons sale, and maybe more, from Donald Trump to Saudi Arabia ? Can you believe it ???!!!
As if he hadn’t heard about the Ummah, the Worldwide Islamic Nation …
As if he didn’t know that Saudi Arabia has invested billions for decades to establish, strenghten and serve that Ummah, in the whole West, in all possible ways …
As if…. ?
There is no as if: Truly, Donald Trump is … ARMING ISLAM. Can you believe it ???!!!
I respectED him enough to believe that he is doing so… knowingly….
OR else…
Has he become a new victim in the successful Islamic- NWO Psychic War on all the Western Leaders, his mind being now fully under the spell of a foreign, occult power ? (that would explain so much..Merkel, Holland-Macron, Trudeau, the Pope ..Junker …ETC…!!!)
Is Donald Trump a lyar, a robotised victim …or just a greedy fool….
Debi Brand says
“He went along with the charade, as Bush and Obama would have done.”
Indeed, Robert. and for that, because he is Trump, he deserves our praise.

Perhaps this trip will bring about a huge change: remove all Muslims from our government offices and as elected officials.

‘Dancing with the enemy’…no good has ever come from ding that…
Trumps expectations of Muslims is going to fail..
To me, the entire spectacle was disgusting…

Agree….I wonder if he noticed there are not churches allowed in Saudi Arabia …wonder what he noticed.
Edward Cline says
He ought not to have visited S.A. whether or not he bowed to the fat, parasite king as Obama did. He should come right out and say that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and give to go ahead to move the U.S. Embassy to it. If there’s any Muslim rioting as a result, I’m sure the Israelis can deal with it. It would just mean knocking a few heads together three stooges stile; they’ve got a lot of practice.
Peggy says
It would be interesting to know what exactly did they have to show to the Trumps regarding this “peace and tolerance” bull.
What could they possibly have? Any objects from other religions?

Because that is how far their tolerance goes.
If you are not muslim, then they can’t tolerate the fact
that you are taking up space and breathing in air in
the universe.

The way I see this Kabuki dance laden w/ enough PC by Trump to counterbalance their taqiyya—-(and OMG!…Trump said Islamic instead of Islamist…Ooops!):
Saudis use the American infidel to get weapons to jockey for power in the region against Iran and to get rid of the pesky Yemenis;
Trump says to the Muslim dictators…this is your land, this is your stickin’ religion…clean up your act cuz we’re not going to come to defend you… and, Oh, by the way…we will be energy independent and soon we won’t need any of your stickin’ oil.
