After a short Sharia suspension, Facebook ultimately let him back in. But if the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and Pope Francis hear about this, Fr. Higgins may have more to worry about than Facebook. The Catholic Church at this time is officially bound to a policy of willful ignorance regarding the jihad threat, and the bishops in the U.S. ruthlessly suppress dissenting speech about this threat with far more zeal than they ever display toward those Catholics who dissent from actual Catholic dogma.
“Catholic Priest Suspended from Facebook for Post About History of Islam,” ChurchPOP, June 6, 2017 (thanks to PJ Media):
Facebook temporarily suspended the account of Catholic priest Fr. John Higgins in response to a post he made about the history of Islam.
Here’s the offending post:
“There are peaceful and good Muslim people,” his post reads in part. “And then there are the Islamists who are defended by the ignorant who refuse to learn history.”
He made his comment on a post on the Facebook page of his Congresswoman Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-D). On May 23rd, his post was deleted and he was suspended from posting on Facebook for a week.
“I wrote Facebook several times,” Fr. Higgins told ChurchPOP, “explaining that this post was just history. Of course there was no response.”
Fr. Higgins serves as the pastor of St. Raymond Parish in Downey, California and as the chaplain of his local fire department.
Greg Stone, a friend of Fr. Higgins who does work for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on conflict resolution, wrote a lengthy Facebook post about the suspension, calling for Facebook to honor its pledge to not censor different viewpoints.
Ha. Facebook relentlessly censors dissenting viewpoints. Jihad Watch referrals from Facebook went down 90% on February 11, 2017, and have never rebounded.
The post was widely copied and re-posted around Facebook.
“It is horribly ironic that the very week Islamists murder scores of innocents,” Stone’s post read in part, “—young girls at a pop concert in Manchester, Coptic Christians in Egypt, and Catholics in the Philippines—Facebook suspends the privileges of a respected clergy member for posting an academic synopsis regarding Islamic history. FB spikes the very information the community needs to understand current events.” You can read the full text of Stone’s post here.
On May 30th, his week-long suspension over, Fr. Higgins posted again on Facebook: “I’m back. That was a week? LOL”….

Fr. John Higgins’ post is 100% historically accurate. His opinions are easy to defend. However, truth is not a defense according to Sharia law. According to Sharia, Fr. John Higgins wrote ‘slander’… meaning that he wrote truths that Muslims do not wish people to know.
Sharia law hides the truth about Islam and then condemns truth-tellers to death.
Well written, well said, Fr. John.

mortimer says
Only 1% or less of Muslims conduct military, violent jihad, but 100% of all Muslims conduct VERBAL JIHAD by concealing, hiding, denying and lying about the meaning, motives and methods of jihad.
The Facebook ban of Fr. Higgins comes from VERBAL JIHADISTS and their dhimmi dummy minions who know nothing about Islam and don’t even know the names of Islam’s primary source texts, let alone their contents… and yet… preposterously… they act as if they are experts on Islam.
Flavius Claudius Iulianus says
As well:
100% of Mohammadans are guilty of telling/instructing their children and grandchildren that Mohammad was a really great guy. They thereby perpetuate this scourge of humanity onward into the future.
Patzy says
That is an important point. Muslims who do not plant bombs or commit violent atrocities are also dangerous because they perpetuate the evil philosophies of Mohammed.
Richard says
A Lebanese Maronite Monsignor told me 50% of all Muslims want to kill you and the other 50% want the first 50% to kill you. When the Muslims first conquered the Holy Land, Catholic Europe let it go because they did not interfere with other religions and were more interested in making money from Christian pilgrims. Then a more militant Muslim group conquered it from them and the resulting murders, rapes, tortures and persecution of Christians was what brought on the Crusades. It is understandable that Muslims would consider their “prophet” to be perfect. Morals standards are based on religion, and all on this web site know what the moral standards of Islam are. “Want a piece of candy, little girl?”
Michael Poulin says
Sorry for the repost, but it has to be said:
This is what the Catholic Church used to sound like:
Pope Clement V, Council of Vienne, 1311-1312:
“It is an insult to the holy name and a disgrace to the Christian faith that in certain
parts of the world subject to Christian princes where Saracens [i.e., the followers of Islam,
also called Muslims] live, sometimes apart, sometimes intermingled with Christians, the
Saracen priests, commonly called Zabazala, in their temples or mosques, in which the
Saracens meet to adore the infidel Mahomet, loudly invoke and extol his name each day
at certain hours from a high place… This brings disrepute on our faith and gives great
scandal to the faithful. These practices cannot be tolerated without displeasing the
divine majesty. We therefore, with the sacred council’s approval, strictly forbid such
practices henceforth in Christian lands. We enjoin on Catholic princes, one and all…
They are to forbid expressly the public invocation of the sacrilegious name of
Mahomet… Those who presume to act otherwise are to be so chastised by the princes for
their irreverence, that others may be deterred from such boldness.”
According to Vatican II, the USCCB, and “Pope” Peron from Argentina , this teaching of the Council of Vienne and Pope Clement V is entirely wrong.. So to think that the current occupiers of the Vatican are remotely Catholic, is to deny the majority of evidence contained in past Catholic teachings. If you are Catholic, or call yourself Catholic, or are even remotely interested in what the Catholic Church actually taught, you cannot trust anything coming from the Vatican since the Vatican II anti-Council of the hippy-dippy 1960’s…
Here is another quote from when the Catholic Church was …er….actually Catholic.
from Pope Pius IX, Syllabus of Errors, # 78:
“Hence in certain regions of Catholic name, it has been laudably sanctioned by law that
men immigrating there be allowed to have public exercises of any form of worship of
their own.” – Condemned.
Vatican II rock star Mr Bergoglio teaches just the opposite from Pope Pius IX, so you see, the Vatican II cult is now a totally different religion.

Richard says
May God bless you, Michael Poulin! Yes, it does have to be said! You are, of course, entirely correct, but very few in the modern Church know it or have any idea of what you are writing about. I am a traditional Catholic and what is going on in the Church today is the abomination of desolation. Any reading of the Old Testament shows what the Jews themselves thought of worshipping other “gods”. The Romans did not persecute Catholics because of their religion. Any reading of the deaths of the martyrs show they were tortured and killed not because of Who they worshipped, but because they adamantly refused to offer libations or prayers to the vast array of Roman “gods” as well. We see this again and again. Catholics took this so seriously that perhaps a million or more men, women and children willingly died under unimaginably agonizing tortures rather than to say “I’m o.k., You’re o.k. to Lucifer and his minions. When the Pantheon was built, the Emperor asked for a statue of Christ to be placed in it and honored with the other “gods”. It was the horrified refusal of the Pope to do so (thereby placing our God on the same level with demons) which began another major persecution. Similarly, Israel under King Herod offered sacrifices each day in their holy Temple for the Roman Emperor, who professed to be a god. It was the later ascendency of a more conservative Jewish priesthood who refused to continue this abomination which was a major cause of the Romans invading Israel and wiping out Jerusalem.. Similarly, Muslims consider it a terrible insult to call them Mohammedens, because that would infer they worshipped Mohammed. This is why they allow no image of him.

He is also apparently an admirer of pope francis,a man who thinks that allah(who denies Christ and mistakenly thinks the Trinity is 3 gods)is the same as the Christian version of God.Obviously allah is NOT the same as God.Mr Bergoglio, the blind man in Rome doesn’t see that.
What a man like francis running the church what hope does any Catholic priest have of telling the truth?
francis is a heretical pope and perhaps he should convert to islam since he seems to have a metaphorical hard-on for all things Islamic.
(I’ll bet if francis was in a room full of muslim clergymen he’d get a boner..)
I wonder does Mr Zuckerberg know what islamic teachings says about the Jews(and what should be done to them in order for islam to rule the world?
Probably not.If you think Hitler’s mein kampf was a bit critical of the Jews, perhaps Mr Zuckerberg should read up on the koran and islamic teachings concerning allah’s contempt and hatred for the Jews.
I guess if someone was to point this out to him on Facebook they would be banned and called an “islamophobe”.
It’s funny how people like Mr Zuckerberg choose not to see when it suits them.
TruthWFree says
I assume from Zuckerberg’s name that he is Jewish. For a Jew to defend Islam is like a chicken defending Col. Sanders….or Hitler. It is rather scary that the libs seem to have control over much of the media….and more and more they are exercising that control over what opponents say…and against the TRUTH.
Fr. John Higgins says
I’m an admirer of Pope Francis? I respect the office of Pope, but do not necessarily agree with the person holding that office on every topic. I am obedient to the Magisterium on matters of Faith and Morals, but do not owe obedience on matters of opinion.
Mark Swan says
Mr. Higgins, you have stated the truth about Islam, in a time when it is not the
popular thing to do, especially given the proclivity of this present Pope to say
only positive things about Islam, though there are none that can be said.
Sometimes we are able to let falsehoods be said, and sometimes the truth rushes
out before we can stop it, if it reaches the wrong ears, then, we are faced with
what to do with the truth.
The truth should be loved, appreciated, needed and always wanted, yet, we all know
how it is.
So what is the “Truth”? Jesus Himself stated: “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17).
May God help us all, personally, to act on the Truth.

Actually, the good priest is incorrect when he states that the Crusades were to keep Christians AND Jews safe in the Holy Land. They not only massacred Jews along the way, but by-and-large exterminated “Palestinian” Jewry when they got there. That said, the father is correct in other regards; Facebook had no business excluding him, especially since his post is really pretty mild in its language.
Patzy says
The German rabble who massacred some Jews in the Rhineland area were NOT Crusaders. They did NOT have papal approval, which is required to be a Crusader. Btw, those rabble killers were condemned by Church authorities. And the Crusaders in the Holy Land did NOT massacre Jews there, or anywhere else. See REAL CRUSADES HISTORY on YouTube for an education on the Crusades.
Richard says
God uses some people and some people use God. The first group of Crusaders were not knights or noblemen, but opportunistic slime. They killed and pillaged not only Jews, but Catholics and everyone else they could find until a local king sent his army out to rightly massacre them. They never got out of Europe, and are not to be confused with the more noble Crusaders. But, lets face it, there were evil people in every group, just as a third of the Host of Heaven rebelled against God with Lucifer. One Crusade was redirected by its leaders to sack a rival Italian trading city, and was promptly excommunicated by the Pope. Another sacked Christian Constantinople in revenge for the Byzantine Emperor betraying a former Crusading army to the Moors. Richard the Lionhearted so admired and liked Saladin’s brother that he tried to get his own Catholic sister to marry him, despite the religious differences. She, of course, refused in horror. One is reminded of the story of a Christian thrown to the lions in the Roman arena. The man is running away from a lion who is gaining on him, so he prays: “God, please make this lion a Christian!” Immediately, the lion drops to his knees, crosses himself and prays: “Lord, for this meal which we are about to receive, let us be truly grateful.”
Lydia says
He is correct, good for him for posting that!
The problem with facebook is that it is not their business to censor anything. If a post is overtly threatening violence or something like that, that is different. But they are on the enemy side when it comes to the war on freedom of speech. I have given up on them altogether. I had a facebook account under another name (ah yes… the aliases are many!), and made regular comments about the truth of things and the account got suspended. So I started another one, with another alias. I focus more on the communities who I think will listen to the truth and so far no issues have arisen. The platforms for freedom of speech are quickly disappearing!

Baucent says
Father Higgins post was factually correct but such truth is now banned, not just on Facebook but in the schools and places of learning. Fr Higgins is a breath of fresh air in the stifled PC world we are forced to live in. He will probably lose his job over it and the Pope will apologize for offending Muslims with his Islamophobic remarks. But it was worth it.
Robin Rosenblatt says
what do i do when i banned from Facebook for telling true about islam.
Fr. John Higgins says
Fr. Higgins is a trouble maker. He has been all of his life. But he’s learned a lot of lessons. As a kid, growing up with a single mom because his dad was KIA in Korea, he went to Protestant Churches. But his best friend lived across the street from a Catholic Church. He and his little pal used to hide behind bushes and throw rocks at the Catholic’s cars as they drove into the parking lot for Mass. One day Fr. H walked across the street and went into the Church. He was amazed at the reverence and beauty of the people praying inside. After graduating from high school that same kid became a Catholic and then went off to the seminary where he continued being a trouble maker. He’s not Pastor of a large parish and Chaplain for the Firefighters in his city. Say a prayer for him. He needs all the prayers he can get. He’s a real character!
