“The attack happened just hours before Eid prayers were held…”
A Taliban spokesmen recently said: “Our fight is Jihad and an obligatory worship. And every obligatory act of worship has 70 times more reward in Ramadan.” So these jihad murderers just got in under the wire.
“Alleged IS militants kill police officer in Indonesia,” AFP, June 25, 2017 (thanks to Lookmann):
Jakarta (AFP) – Two alleged Islamic State group militants stabbed a police officer to death in western Indonesia, authorities said Sunday, in the latest assault targeting officials in the world’s most populous Muslim country.
The two attackers shouted “Allahu Akbar”, or God is great, as they entered a security post in North Sumatra’s police headquarters in Medan city where they stabbed a police officer, officials said.
Several police officers fought back against the militants, killing one and critically injuring another.
“We suspect the attackers have links with IS and Bahrun Naim, because we found a IS flag, books and CDs linked to IS in the house of one attacker,” national police spokesman Setyo Wasisto told AFP.
Bahrun Naim, an Indonesian who is fighting with IS in Syria, has been accused of directing a series of mostly botched terror plots in his homeland in recent years.
Hundreds of radicals from Indonesia have flocked abroad to fight with IS, and the country has seen a surge in plots and attacks linked to the jihadists over the past year.
The attack happened just hours before Eid prayers were held, including at the North Sumatra police headquarters, as part of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations that mark the end of the holy fasting month of Ramadan….

‘Jefferson hosted a White House iftar in 1805; under Trump, Ramadan meals could end’
By Amy B. Wang | The Washington Post Jun 23, 2017
President Trump did however wish Muslims a happy Eid al-Fitr yesterday. Was Thomas Jefferson a dhimmi? I suppose the very erudite James Madison hadn’t read the Qur’an when he wrote the Free Exercise clause into the First Amendment, otherwise he might have made an exception for particularly violent religious traditions?

no, he hosted a muslim diplomat while trying to negotiate an end to tunisian attacks on american shipping in the late 1790s and early 1800s. the muslim, of course, requested women, but jefferson declined to provide them. there was a meal, which may have been during ramadan (don’t remember), but jefferson and other americans were simply dining with a diplomat, not celebrating anything islamic. and the widely-touted copy of the quran which jefferson owned was used to help him understand the motivations of muslims. i believe that by the time the diplomat visited washington, a muslim diplomat in britain had already told american diplomats that muslims had been commanded to attack kufr and enslave them, whence the search for motivation.

Islam is not a religion. Religions don’t promise eternal rewards for murder.

Indonesia may well default back to military rule or to an indefinite period of martial law. While democratic elections were initially a stunning achievement for the country, religious minorities, particularly Christians, have struggled in a much less secure atmosphere for many years. The Indonesian Military had served, relatively effectively in the past, as a guarantor of security for the large range of ethnic and religious groups throughout the far flung Indonesian Archipelago. The current International Jihad has increased the resolve of more fanatical Islamic elements, now targeting police officers in a direct challenge to the authority of civilian rule.
