For many years, whenever one Googled “jihad,” Jihad Watch was the first result. This was back in the days when Google’s results were based on the relevance of the subject matter to the search and the popularity of the site. But then Google began engaging in social engineering, attempting to manipulate opinion by changing the results of searches to lead people to sites that offered the perspectives it favored. Then when one searched for “jihad,” Jihad Watch became the second result, and then the fourth, even though our readership was steadily rising; replacing it at the top were Islamic apologetics sites with a fraction of the readership, offering soothing falsehoods about the meaning of jihad. Marc explains this phenomenon in greater detail here.
That manipulation wasn’t enough to divert people away from the truth. Now, if you search for “jihad,” Google will give you a whole page full of Islamic apologetics, and Jihad Watch doesn’t appear on the front page at all. Is this because our readership has plummeted? No, quite the contrary. It is because Google is now fully committed not to allowing people to search the Internet, but to controlling what they find when they do. (Incidentally, when one Googles “Robert Spencer” now, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s hit piece on me comes up before my own website bio.)
On June 24, the Huffington Post ran a piece entitled “Google Search Is Doing Irreparable Harm To Muslims,” about Texas imam Omar Suleiman’s effort to compel Google to edit out search results he deemed “anti-Muslim” (not “false,” just “anti-Muslim”). I commented: “If Omar Suleiman gets his way, Google will only return Sharia-compliant results, and another battle against the imposition of Sharia blasphemy laws upon the West will have been lost.”
It looks as if Google hastened to fulfill Suleiman’s desires.
It’s a silent encroachment of totalitarianism, as only one perspective is allowed to be aired, and the ground is increasingly being cut out from under the feet of dissenters. Of course, they’re only doing this because their narrative is so outstandingly counterfactual that they can only put it over by censoring us and giving pride of place to sites that peddle the soothing lies they favor, but even though it reveals their insecurity and desperation, it is extremely dangerous nevertheless. And no one seems to care. This is the kind of thing the Trump administration should be fighting against, and working to ensure a level playing field for all points of view. Is no one in a position of power or influence concerned about the rapid erosion of the freedom of speech?

From Author Rod Taylor:
Around Ottawa, there’s been no end of pomp and circumstance. When one views the massive stage and the preparations for the July 1st extravaganza, which is to mark 150 years since Confederation, it’s easy to see that no expense has been spared in making this Canada Day one to be remembered.
One might also say that no stone has been left unturned . . . no foundation stone, that is. While government officials have been hard at work to create a safe, enthusiastic and jubilant atmosphere for July 1st, our PM and his adoring throng have been busy removing—or attempting to remove—the very foundation stones of our civilization and our democracy.
The supremacy of God: this is the cornerstone without which every man-made structure must fall. Our Charter acknowledges the supremacy of God but in practice, our Parliament, provincial legislatures and courts have increasingly ignored His precepts.
The rule of law: from the time of Magna Carta, this other essential feature of a successful democracy has underscored the fair and equal treatment of all citizens. It posits that one law applies to all; not even the king (or queen) is exempt. Unfortunately, our present government has gone about to create special rights and privileges for some and harsh restrictions for others.
When you create special rights for some, you automatically take away the rights of others. Of course, governments cannot—in a real sense—create or take away genuine human rights. These rights are given by God. The right to life exists because God has created humankind in His image and endowed us with dignity and proclaimed our intrinsic value. Likewise, freedom of speech is a natural, inherent right (and sometimes even a responsibility), not a privilege granted by the state. When that right is denied, our civilization suffers.
Three notable examples come to mind; there are many others.
Linda Gibbons and Mary Wagner have been repeatedly jailed for their courageous efforts to be a voice for the pre-born. Their freedom has been curtailed so that others can go on killing the innocent.
U of T Professor Jordan Peterson has been threatened with punishment for exercising his freedom of speech. His crime? Speaking the truth regarding biological realities. He calls a man “he” and a woman “she”.
In Ottawa, M-103, the “Anti-Islamophobia” motion which passed the House in March, is now the topic of committee study and seems likely to surface again as an actual bill restricting the freedom to criticize Islam. (Only Islam is named; Christianity would not be specifically protected). The committee—ironically, it’s the “Heritage Committee”—will be hearing only from hand-picked witnesses, a stacked deck. Special rights for some mean lost freedoms for others.
Don’t let the challenges we face as a nation spoil your celebrations on Canada Day! We still have much to be thankful for!
I’ll be celebrating—and praying—at The CRY in Kingston, Ontario with 4MYCanada and many others. Kingston was home to the very first Parliament of Upper Canada and our first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. We’ll be celebrating Canada’s Christian heritage, her rich traditions and the freedoms and blessings that Canadians have enjoyed for the past 150 years under God’s providential hand and watchful eye.
Our freedoms should be celebrated and they must also be defended. The rule of law must be defended. The rights of all Canadians to speak and worship freely must be defended. The rights of parents to raise their children according to their own beliefs must be defended. The right to life must be defended.
On Canada Day, let’s honour the God who made us and the One who still has dominion from sea to sea.

Not OT but scarily relevant: Germany is turning to its old ways: full on censorship. Please read this article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2017/06/30/germany-fine-facebook-youtube-50m-fail-delete-hate-speech/
Facebook etc can be fined fifty million Euro for not removing’ hate speech’ ‘extremism’ and ‘fake news’. Not just threats of violence and child porn, but basically people’s opinions. Of course to avoid these crazy fines, the social media will simply remove everything even faintly critical of anything the German government doesn’t like. And the German government doesn’t like criticism of islam, because that causes ‘social unrest’.
This has been named the most draconian internet law in Europe. Note that the Justice Minister’s assistant is a woman called Kahane, who used to be in the Stasi. In its desperate bit to avoid fascism, Germany is not using fascist methods.
Don’t feel safe in the UK, either: Theresa May, according to the Telegraph, likes the idea and would like to introduce something similar.
We need to talk about alternative ways to use the internet: more anonymity, no censorship by fascist governments.

On July 3, 2017, in Miami, a google search for “jihad” came out 7th and on the first page, compared to 11th and on second page on July 1 (see previous post).

billybob says
Google still brings up the Jihad Watch as the first entry, because your browser knows your preferences, or you are logged into your Google account. I too made the same search, and JihadWatch was also the first hit. But then I went deeper, and used a different browser where I never log into Google, and a free web proxy to hide my identity. Then I tried Google search for jihad and was able to confirm what Marc said, namely “if you search for “jihad,” Google will give you a whole page full of Islamic apologetics, and Jihad Watch doesn’t appear on the front page at all. ”
This is very worrisome. Indeed there were apologetics sites on the first page. However, it wasn’t quite as bad as Marc suggests. JihadWatch was near the top on the second page. Beyond that, the first page of information wasn’t quite that bad. The very first item was a simple definition for Jihad, showing two meanings. Importantly, the first meaning was to wage war against the infidels and only the second was about “a spiritual struggle”. Also on the first page Wikipedia figured prominently, and their articles are usually brutally honest.

Clear your browsing data and jihad watch will be suppressed. Google serves individual results based on what it reads from your browser’s stored data. The first page listing for “jihad” is a jumble of wiki, front groups, apologetic youtube websites, ISIS, and dictionary definitions. Jihad watch appeared, finally, on page two. This is after clearing the browsing data several days ago.
Will clear it again and check results.
Westman says
Jihad Watch and other more honest results still appear on the SECOND page of search results. The first page is more or less, whitewashed. The appearance of Jihad Watch on the 2nd page seems to be an anomaly. Four pages in and seeing no other sites that critique Islam.

Funny enough, I had just cleared my browsing history over a credit dispute. Nevertheless, JihadWatch came up the third link when I googled “jihad”.
It’s risky to ask for government intervention on a privately-owned communications avenue, even one as gigantic as Google. A lawyer and professor, Laura Beth Nielsen on Tucker Carlson tried to make the case that making defamatory statements against groups was physically harmful and should be criminalized. Faced with Carlson’s logic, she backtracked considerably, but these sorts of people rarely have to deal with challenges. Their usual milieu is vulnerable students and far-left colleagues.

Anyway, the problem is not the lack of information. There’s so much information on Islam, jihad, and immigration on the internet, I can’t read it all. The problem is the divide in the country: Trump people pretty much know what endangers them, and Hillary people totally don’t care what the facts are. As soon as the demographics change enough in the swing states to bring electoral votes in line with the popular vote, the US will become like France, England or Germany: a soft totalitarian state where speech is limited to the official narrative.

Google, the world’s dominant search engine, were only the other day slapped with a hefty fine by the EU for their blatant and egregious anti-competitive behaviour in biasing search results to help them make more moolah. However that’s clearly not their only skullduggery.
We’ve noticed JW’s disconcerting slide down a list of ranked results when searching under “jihad” for some time now. I also recall Marc’s article regarding this chicanery. However at least it still appeared on the first page. If it’s now relegated to page#2, this will have a far more adverse impact on it’s discovery, recognition, readership and effectiveness in informing and connecting people as to the truth about islam– precisely as intended.
You can hardly hold out hope for the EU to put a stop to this latest travesty. They’re preoccupied building their own funeral pyre. They’re probably also at the vanguard of those who’ve intimidated the Dhimmis at Google, or even help infiltrate it with jihadis. The internet (primarily a US invention, though others have contributed to the development of some of it’s key component elements) has been by far the most effective means of speaking truth to falsehood and totalitarianism — of course something not lost on each and every dictatorship and most muslims on the planet. Hence their zeal in seizing control of it. The idiots in the US government foolishly relinquished paramount control of internet governance, and no surprise, less than a year later, this — an ongoing jihad against JW — is another expected result.
It’s difficult to think of how to best combat this sad and insidious situation: it probably requires concerted government regulation to compel major search engine companies to cease their subterfuge. However that’s asking a lot of the same nincompoops in the US Congress and Senate and every other Western government. How about a barrage of worthwhile tweets for a change, Donald?

Jihad Watch was the second listing on the second page. Hardly “deep six”. The problem of searching for “jihad” is that, rightly so, definitions and explanations of the term come first. It has been known that Google is a filthy company. On the outside they present themselves as a friendly playful entity (like always displaying artsy Google logos for example) on the inside they are greedy for all the data they can possibly get about you to make $$$ and to get more power. To achieve this goal they give you free apps like Google Mail. What people do not realise is, is that they are being exploited. For example Google reads and processes people’s email texts for advertising business purposes.
“If You’re Not Paying for It; You’re the Product.
We pay, for example, for the awesomeness of Google’s free array of services by helping Google build an enormous database filled with our billions of searches and personal information.”

I cleared my history, checked and verified that Jihadwatch is now appearing on the second page of Google results for searching the word “jihad.” (In comparison, on Duck-Duck Go it is fourth or fifth from the top). Very disturbing. On Google’s first page offering, various Islamic apologetic pieces appear at the top, including the ridiculous “Islamic Supreme Council,” Wikipedia (which is reliably Islam apologetic, full of leftist biases, terribly incomplete), BBC, National Geographic etc. –all apologetic propaganda and whitewashes.
I suspect the only reason “Islamic Supreme Council” appears 5th or 6th (i.e., very high) on Duck Duck Go is because Google’s manipulation has driven it up there. Google is the most popular engine, so no matter how objective other engines are, results will reflect Google’s political ideological preferences.
Whether or not a website appears on the first page of the search results is a big deal, and indeed the position on the first page is a big deal as well. I suspect that most people most of the time will never even make it to the second page of Google results.

FYI, When I use bing.com, Jihadwatch.org quickly pops up as number one, followed by other Jihadwatch entries like Wikipedia, facebook, you tube etc. A rather fine job. I switched during the election run-up when I did some identical search comparisons and found the rumors about google modifying its algorithm on orders of its owner are very true, google is untrustworthy and is kinked, badly, when life and truth are important, ala conservative truth style. So far, I’ve found that virtually all democrats are liars, and deceivers. So far, I’ve been pleased with Bing overall, as SE, and I don’t trust microsoft, or its owner either, note next paragraph. Go figger.
On the odd side, when I try to get jihad watch the second time in a short while, I have to sneak up on it, from another site, like even “the muslim issue” as it won’t directly reopen jihad watch if I quickly go back to it direct from my saved icon, or even a saved URL. This is with up to date IE as my window.
TJFreedomjihad says
When I dialed in Jihadwatch on the google anonymizer https://www.startpage.com/ all Jihadwatch entries were at the top of results, facebook, twitter etc. Start page states that it brings the results you want, not the results they want you to see, based on what they know about you, which they can’t see, and it is just as fast as going direct by the way.
When you get their start page, scroll down on their button to see “how we protect you”, an encouraging presentation of details. I hope this helps some of you.
We practically have to be computer engineers, to get to the bread and butter of Jihad Watch, let alone to navigate the web, which is the only way to get to truths these days, plus DJT’s tweets and direct speeches. They, the democrats, as well as the jihadists, are really out to get us, in fact. And if you don’t believe that yet, just stay tuned, you will, ’cause its only gwanna get worse. Maybe much worse. Remember the Civil War? And they got trillions at stake, like around 90 or so trillion of our total value, give or take, and soros, hussein, clintons are all part of it.
RodSerling says
Wow. Google’s autocomplete search feature adds “fake news” and “fake” if you type in “jihadwatch”. One of the top entries for jihadwatch fake news on the first page is a so-called media bias fact check site that lists Jihad Watch as extreme far right and “Questionable Source.” https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/jihad-watch/
Interesting: If you try their “vote” feature beneath that blurb of text, you find that the plurality of voters (107 / 317 when I entered my vote) judge it to be a credible source, but the remainder of the responses for fake news, propaganda, extreme bias, and poor sourcing combined make up the majority.
Chris Malan says
I know how autocomplete works. It’s not done by people. When you type in a field, each letter or word, depending on the programing, is sent to a server making use of AJAX. It’s fast because the amount of data transmitted is small. Google has a huge, non-sql database of search terms used on the web. Yours go in that database, too. When the first word goes to the server, say ‘green’, the server sends you back a few of the top searches starting with green and writes it to your browser. With the second word, say ‘female’, the results sent back to you will become more releavant, say ‘green female shoes’ is one of the ones sent back. The more you type in, the more relevant the suggestions become. This is all automated and based on searches done on the web. It’s impossible to manipulate 100,000 searches per second using people inspecting each search.
RodSerling says
Chris,
I don’t assume people are micromanipulating searches in the manner you say. That would be absurd. (Though there could be Flintstones-style dinosaurs in there doing the work).
My hypothesis is that Google is biasing their results to downgrade Jihad Watch and upgrade negative perspectives on it. That is totally in line with their ideology, and is consistent with Muslim activists’ appeals to get them to do so.
Go to Duck Duck Go. No autocomplete in the top seven suggestions there that I see includes anything negative about “jihad watch”.

The autocomplete is based on previous searches, as I said. Jihadwatch has more enemies than friends, hence more searches that would reflect negatively on Jihadwatch. Hence, they would show first on autocomplete until the search term has been typed in nearly completely.
Chris Malan says
On Google, when I type in ‘jihad w’ I get offered: jihad watch, jihad ward, jihad watch twitter, and jihad wiki. That’s it. I could send you a screen shot.
Chris Malan says
It has nothing to do with your readership. Google has an algorithm which they don’t make public. Everyone knows the most important factor is the number of links to your site, the quality of the sites the links come from and the link text used. The Muslims all link to each other’s sites. Googlebot doesn’t see how many people go to your site to read your material. It sees references to your site from other sites. Sites are given weights – the more important Google regards a site, the heavier it is. This is also an automated process. A great many links from a site to many other sites is bad. Such a site is seen as a link farm and given a very low weight or is ignored. Government and education sites are seen as important. Links from them help a lot. Get someone to do white hat SEO for you. Beware, bad SEO may harm you. Search Google for SEO.
Chris Malan says
On searching for ‘jihad’ on Google, this site came up as the last on the first page: https://www.theobjectivestandard.com/2015/11/ten-steps-to-end-jihad-against-the-west/ Very clear and makes sense. Makes for interesting reading. Jihadwatch came up just below the middle on the first page for me.
marc says
try clearing your cache or using incognito, if you have visited Jihad Watch before it shows on the first page, if not it shows on the 2nd page, read others comments and the history of the issue of Google manual intervention in the ranking of this site.

My website which is currently in production. noislamonazis.com
has experienced similiar restriction a week and a half ago. it disapeared from the front page of google and anti virus companies like norton have placed it as unsafe. even though my other wix wesites that have the exact same set up and support are not flagged as potentially dangerous?
Globalism is very real and we are further down the rabbit hole than many people think we are.
Chris Malan says
Wix is for people who know nothing about building a website. Real men use a text editor and hand code their sites. I use Bootstrap as the basic framework. Works well with all devices. It’s possible someone has installed malicious content on your Wix site and that’s why you’re blacklisted.
Take the trouble to learn how to code your own html, css and Javascript.
marc says
@Chris, “Take the trouble to learn how to code your own html, css and Javascript.” why? I have those abilities, but still like most of the vast majority of webmasters use an off the shelf CMS, WordPress, being due to it’s flexibility, ease of use and excellent support forums is the most popular, why would you send a noob to coding, you know css and js is not for the noob just wanting to share a message, it’s for people who like the hacky life.
Apart from that, your reasoning of why he is flagged is not useful, wix is crap in my opinion also, but a third party is unable to install malicious code on your wix site, wix lock it down hard. Did you even check his sites code? play with wix, you’ll see you can’t add malicious code.

My work is back-end, business administration applications. I use Bootstrap which makes even pages I create look reasonably professional – no artistical talent whatsoever. So, I use the editor of the IDE. The few occasions clients wanted something more fancy, I got someone else to do it.
WordPress is PHP. My stuff is Groovy and Java. Strangly enough, hacking has never interested me. Bought a book on penetration testing. It’s much harder than people think it is.
marc says
@Chris I wasn’t thinking pentesting when I said “Hacky”, i was thinking making code do things for you, recommending a noob todo hacky stuff such as that, coming from wix would not be helpful, i think you just want to make yourself sound more important than help someone who was asking.
Mark says
Chris, did you say real men learn code? Here is me thinking a real man pulls his balls out and try’s to build a movement to assist in the maintenance of the west.
I could do with your assistance REAL MAN!
But I somehow think my call will go without reply from “real men”..
Chris Malan says
Hi Mark, I saw one programmer with a slogan/saying of real men code their own device drivers. I thought that was cool. There is a disease which is very prevalent today, the desire to be able to do something without knowing how to do it and without learning how to do it. Consequently, there are many cashing in on this desire.
What help do you need? If you wish to feature prominently in Google with a new site, you might as well flap your arms and try to fly. Unless it’s a niche site, like dealing with first edition books in Sanskrit from the 18th century. There’s a lot to SEO – search engine optimization. There are people willing to do it for you and there’s much on the web about it, really, really, much. First, get yourself a Google Webmaster account. They are free. Put the code in your site and see all details for all visits in your webmaster account. You can also sign up for clicky.com. Also see all details about all visits, but you won’t be able to see search terms used to reach your site. That’s why Google encrypt searches, so that only they can have access to the terms used.
marc says
@Mark, your clean here, https://www.virustotal.com/ I manually checked the sites code itself, you do have some enforcement of JS http://www.UnmaskParasites.com/security-report/?page=www.noislamonazis.com , that will trigger some blocks (did on my browser first load) whats the exact warning you are seeing? which version of the AV
Mark says
Marc, thankyou for your efforts. I, unfortunately, can not give feedback as i am rather illiterate at computing. I am onto something big in regards to correctly flagging islam that all westerners will recognise and so be able to succefully rally against and inturn undermine the narrative of islamoaphobia and inturn the lefts support of islam. But fighting attempts at closing me down online leaves me confused as i lack knowledge. Any support is appreciated….Cheers.
marc says
@Mark, you said “and anti virus companies like norton have placed it as unsafe” I couldn’t find evidence of that, can you share a screenshot or some way I can see it.
Even Norton list you as untested https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=noislamonazis.com so should never have shown you as unsafe.
Mark says
Hi Marc, it is the experience i have had on my own pc and i changed that within my system. I push the site on youtube comment sections and have many people say they cannot open the site and so i aussmed they are experiencing what i did with my anti virus. This was not the case a week and a half ago with anyone?.
marc says
@Mark, I don’t know what to say, it’s just never been blacklisted, if you capture some block message, send it over to me, https://prnt.sc/ is fine for sharing, the contact form on the left, choose technical issues, and i’ll take a look.

Thanks for the advice Marc.
I will build up first so i have a copy and then place up on GoDaddy.
Unfortunately i didnt have it copied as expected a warning first. Interesting as it was onyl twelve hours after i had attempted to do a no islanazis facebook page. they picked me up runnig onder a vpn in aother counrty. Now i understand why the run the code to your phone as they can pick if you are in different country to you vpn.

I tried google with jihad and it ended up third. Not bad. I strongly believe that the problem is more that not more people google on Jihad. People are sheep (or austriches). The news and facts that you bring are not wanted, people prefer to stay in their coccoons and think they are safe.
James Matters says
I think you have been banned.
I got no result leading directly to Jihad Watch from a search for “jihad”, after 5 full pages. After that it says it deleted redundant links.

Go to incognito mode and try again. In that mode Google is not supposed to adjust the results based on your interests. With my incognito search, jihadwatch is only on the sixth page!
Without incognito, Google adjust the results for each person who searches (based on the existing cookies etc), leaving him with an belief that “the world sees what he sees”. It’s a trick, and everybody can check that.
Chris Malan says
Why is Google not supposed to adjust the results according to your interests? Adjusting the results according to the searcher’s interests will yield more relevant results to every searcher.
Google also never said everybody sees the same results. It differs, first of all by country.
Chris Malan says
Absolutely. Google is all about automation. Sometimes they change their algorithm and things change. It also depends on the country you search from and the ‘home’ of your site. Not where your site is hosted, but a ‘home’ derived from the extension. My site is .au but hosted in the USA. It will rate higher for searches from Australia, but even there, it’s nowhere close to the first page if one searches for the business name, database applications. That is so generic and there are so many big palyers like Oracle, educational institutions, etc. But for some of the tutorials on the site, it does make it, e,g. it’s on the first page in Aussie for ‘grails multi project.’ No conspiracy. Nobldy at Google knows I exist.
For Duck Duck Go my site is fourth on the first page when choosing the Australia option and searching for ‘database applications.’ Similarly, when using Bing’s Australia option, http://www.bing.com/?cc=au, it comes out about middle of first page. Just different ways of doing things. The world is not conspiring against me. The Rothschillds are not out to get me.
Scott says
I just googled it and it came up third on mine. Then I went to a google account where I had not logged in before and looked. Came up fourth. This might be a bit of an exaggeration.

I think Google is having fun with everyone. My computer comes up with Jihad Watch as #4 in the search engine, but I fully believe some posters here who state that Jihad Watch is NOT in the forefront of their searches.
It is time to face the truth that not only does Google control the content of your search, but they’re now personalizing what you see by your profile.
This is social engineering at its best, and the key questions need to be asked. What is Google’s agenda? What is Google’s bias? Why is Google committed into knowledge control? What is the final goal?
We need to recognize that we’re the guinea pigs of an Orwellian experiment, which has become much too real.
Chris Malan says
“We need to recognize that we’re the guinea pigs of an Orwellian experiment, which has become much too real.” Just this Saturday, I heard that within two to three years everybody on the planet will be microchipped, like pets. Must be true. The person who told it to me is an uneducated, ignorant red-neck. One can trust such people.
JC says
I do not disagree that Google and Facebook are both intent on social engineering, especially on matters that have a high favorability quotient with liberal progressives. However, let the facts speak for themselves and let’s not create the stigma of a conspiracy when the facts do not bear them out. There are enough of them that exist de facto. So, here are what results I got using both Google and Bing search engines: Both returned Jihad Watch.Org as the first hit when doing a search for “jihad watch”. If a search is done for the word “jihad” I still got jihadwatch.org coming up on the first page for both engines; 4th on Google and 5th on Bing. Bing had 2 definitions (Webster and Wikipedia), BBC, and Nat Geo ahead of Jihad Watch. Google, however, did indeed have one Islamist propaganda site, Islamic Supreme Council, appear as the number one hit, followed by Wiki, Webster and then Jihad Watch 4th. These are the facts as of today, July 2, 2017.
gravenimage says
JC, this is because you have used Jihad Watch before. Clear your cache or log on with a new username and JW will not come up on the first page of results.

Update:
Today (early evening July 2nd Eastern time) for the search “jihad” on Incognito in Google Chrome, I see Jihad Watch come up 8th on the first page.
I also see they have a “Report Inappropriate Predictions” link just at the bottom of their search suggestions window.
Terry says
Still comes up when i google it.
marc says
UPDATE very odd, using incognito (same effect as never having visited the site before) I am seeing it back in 4th place on the first page with google.com and 8th place on google.ca, and google.co.uk a search for just the word “jihad” does not bring up jihadwatch.org on the top 5 pages at all.
That was not the case when Robert posted this article, we both checked and the positions were as he said, Google are playing games with their search engine.
James Snapp, Jr. says
Are you sure? I typed in “jihad” at Google just now, and “jihad watch” was third, behind “jihad” and “jihad definition.”
Daniel Triplett says
I deleted all history, even using incognito, and used the search term “jihad.”
http://www.jihadwatch.org was the fourth entry on the first page — same with the normal, non-incognito google. Perhaps Robert’s complaints made a difference.
I think I’ll still switch to bing anyway though.
marc says

“Perhaps Robert’s complaints made a difference.” No, it didn’t. Robert knows about Islam. He doesn’t know about search engines and how they work. One always runs the risk of getting it completely wrong if one talks on a topic about which one knows nothing or next to nothing. Google is a 634.518 Billion Dollar company. https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/GOOG?p=GOOG They couldn’t care less what Robert, you or I do. I can assure you their management didn’t discuss this thread and decided to act upon it.
Look at this to give you an idea about the size of Google: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Data_Centers and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZmGGAbHqa0

I’m guessing Robert and Marc, two men who’ve been running a professional website with advertisers for over a decade know more about Internet traffic and maximizing search engine referrals than you assert.
And I wasn’t suggesting the Google executives are monitoring this thread here to make corporate decisions.
Robert and Marc have been complaining about this subject since at least February. Don’t you think professional website hosts who depend on web traffic and advertising revenue for their living are smart enough to know how to communicate their concerns with the correct offices at Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.?
marc says
@Daniel
“I’m guessing Robert and Marc, two men who’ve been running a professional website with advertisers for over a decade know more about Internet traffic and maximizing search engine referrals than you assert.”
lol, if Google and social media wasn’t messing around with organic behaviours in their own systems to shadowban, boost fake sites on our search terms, have AV vendors falsely flag us etc. we’d be doing a lot better, despite all that negative behaviour and constant ddos attacks, legitimate traffic still grows here.
Chris is an expert in a very narrow field in IT (one i wish I knew more about), building custom databases where the vast majority of sites are turning to off the shelf CMS products, I can see why he might have an odd perspective.
Daniel Triplett says
Though I don’t know what most of those terms mean Marc, I’m certain you’re doing everything in your professional power to give Jihad Watch the maximum exposure possible.
Robert (and by extension, Dar al-Harb) is fortunate to have a man of your caliber on his team.
Stay strong Brother.
Chris Malan says
Nearly everybody is forced nowadays to have some interaction with computers. Alas, not everyone of them is interested in the very interesting subject of computers, coding, the Internet, etc. Not everyone who has a website knows something about how the Internet works. If you want to know a bit about SEO (how to get your site found on the web), read this: http://www.databaseapplications.com.au/shops.jsp It really tell online shop owners how to get their shops found on the Internet, but is applicable for all sites.
It’s really hard, consistent work over a long time to get one’s site to feature well in organic searches. I have paid ads for Australia only.
Alan Forbes says
This is yet another reason to switch from Google to DuckDuckGo.com, in my opinion. It’s #5 on that site, and their pitch is that they don’t track you.
