Like so many Muslims before him, it looks as if Mohamed Noor has opted to defend himself by blaming the victim.
According to Drugs.com, “Ambien (zolpidem) is a sedative, also called a hypnotic. Zolpidem affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with sleep problems insomnia). Ambien is used to treat insomnia….Ambien may impair your thinking or reactions….Some people using this medicine have engaged in activity such as driving, eating, walking, making phone calls, or having sex and later having no memory of the activity.”
That Noor’s lawyers would choose this scurrilous course of action is astounding, but not at all surprising.
“‘It should not have happened’: Mayor of Minneapolis slams cop shooting of Australian woman and says officers should have had bodycams turned on,” by Jennifer Smith, Dailymail.com, July 21, 2017:
The mayor of Minneapolis where an Australian woman was shot dead by a police officer on Saturday has said the killing ‘should never have happened’.
Justine Damond was killed by officer Mohamed Noor outside her home after calling the police to report a suspected sexual assault.
It was dark and Noor, a rookie on the force, opened fire after seeing her move towards the car but apparently without knowing who she was. Neither his bodycam nor the bodycam that his partner was wearing was turned on at the time so there is no footage of the incident….
Noor has offered no public comment on the killing. Friends of the officer spoke to DailyMail.com this week to say they had since learned that he was ‘startled’ by the woman as she approached the patrol car he was in and that was why he shot….
The rookie cop’s lawyer has called for an independent autopsy to be carried out to determine whether or not she had the sleeping aid Ambien in her system when she died.
His lawyer has also floated the narrative that Noor believed he was being ambushed and that is why he opened fire….

Maybe but sometimes I find the articles on Jihad Watch to be reaching. While it is true that Muslims very often blame the victim, it is also the case that Defense Attorney’s do as well. The point in our criminal justice system is to create reasonable doubt in the juror’s minds. This is often best accomplished by raising doubt about the victim. So while I agree that Islam routinely blames the victim, I don’t believe that this serves as a legitimate example of it.
Donald R Laster Jr says

I really don’t know where they are going with this.
Chris Malan says
“Maybe but sometimes I find the articles on Jihad Watch to be reaching.” You are right. Very often these articles are sensationalist and always unnecessarily verbose. It’s clear that the intention is to evoke the greatest emotional response possible among the great unwashed. I don’t understand why one should do that if one’s case is factual, like the case against Islam is. It only gives one’s opponents the opportunity to point out the weak spots in one’s sensationalist, verbose presentation.
Ten words which cannot be faulted are better than the same information padded with blah-blah-blah to a hundred words.

Moral of the story, don’t take ambien and call the police, you may get shot and killed. That is if you are a woman and the cop (shooter) is a Muslim.
Infidel Lass says
This is ridiculous. If she was on Ambien and sleep-walking, that would only make things worse for Noor. Any excuse is good for this piece of shite. Won’t give an interview to state what happened but demands the body of his victim be chopped up to prove…what, exactly ? That she may have been on Ambien? Where do they even get that from anyway?
Beagle says
Unless the officer was in reasonable fear he would be killed or seriously injured, it’s a bad shooting. Being, allegedly, startled by someone, allegedly, on Ambien doesn’t make a bit of difference in the legal calculus. In fact, shooting when startled is a good working definition of bad policing and inappropriate use of deadly force.
The appropriate reaction when startled is to first assess any possible danger. Shooting first, asking questions later is an admission of guilt – not a defense.
Chris Malan says
Everything Beagle said in the post timestamped July 22, 2017 at 2:49 pm is totally correct. It is an unemotional presentation of facts relevant to this case. That’s it, really. Nothing more needs to be said. Case closed. Now it’s only for the case to have its day in court.

If this autopsy is to help him escape punishment, it should be denied. They know what killed her…a bullet. They know who fired the gun that discharged the bullet that killed her…noor. It doesn’t matter what meds she may have taken.
RonaldB says
I actually would rather the former police chief and the present mayor be tried for negligent homicide than Noor. Noor may be slightly more intelligent than the average Somali, which isn’t saying much, but character-wise and emotion-wise, he seems to have been below average. In any case, however they tried to jimmy the qualification standards, he was obviously unsuitable, especially in light of the complaints against him.
So, there should be legal consequences for officials who put dangerous characters with guns on the street for political purposes.
The ambien focus is just a red herring. Noor’s lawyer might be looking to claim the police told her to stop and she didn’t, triggering the panic. But, the partner has already been questioned by investigators, and unless he mentioned telling her to stop, the defense won”t hold water…unless you get Somalis on the jury.
The body cams being turned off is a separate issue. Both police should be immediately booted from the force for not turning on their body cams…unless they can show the brass was not enforcing the mandate. And wouldn’t that be an interesting scent to follow?

How would this justify Noor having shot her multiple times?
Of course, it wouldn’t. It just vaguely implies that the victim might have to shoulder some of the blame for her own murder if she used something to help her sleep.

Noor was drug tested himself after this shooting. If not I would demand he be tested now many drugs can still be tested for weeks after taking them ,alcohol is not one of them. I know opiates, and THC will still show up in urine test up to a month after use. If you really want to do an expense test to show using from over a year ago you use hair samples. I guess P.O. “The effects of oral administration of cathinone occur more rapidly than the effects of amphetamine pills; roughly 15 minutes as compared to 30 minutes in amphetamine.
“**Khat can induce manic behaviours and hyperactivity, similar in effects to those produced by amphetamines**”.

I flew a USAF mission into an airbase we use in Djibouti, which is a tiny rectum of a nation in the Horn of Africa.
Every foreign national I saw was chewing khat. This includes all the contractors hired to service the airplane.
There were guys with wheelbarrows full of khat freely milling around distributing the stuff to everyone. It looks like alfalfa sprigs.
Probably helps distract them from the totally miserable life they’re living.
By the way, if you ever end up in Djibouti, and I don’t recommend you do, don’t sleep in the sheets or use any towels.
We stayed in the nicest hotel in the country, which in the US would’ve been condemned. One guy on the crew simply slept in his bed and used the shower, along with the clean towels that were in his bathroom.
A couple weeks later, he developed mysterious bumps all over his body that the American doctors couldn’t diagnose. The doctors told him to soak in an Epsom Salt bath. While soaking, Tsetse flies began digging themselves out of each bump on his body. The Tsetse fly somehow incubates its eggs under your skin. The only way he could’ve possibly become afflicted is by using what appeared to be clean linens and towels.
No wonder everyone’s chewing khat in Djibouti.

The mayor is the driving force behind the decisions that led to this murder. Her sworn policy is to put incompetents on the police force because of their race or being Muslim. She deserves to be thrown out of office for this. She didn’t murder, but she did set up the situation in which an innocent woman was sacrificed so affirmative action quotas could be fulfilled.
Daniel Triplett says
This doesn’t surprise me. Cops and DAs use Ambien as their Ace card, using its use to explain any crime, in the absence of genuine evidence.
I know a guy who did a slow roll through a stop sign, IN A WALMART PARKING LOT, just like every one of us does.
Cop pulled him over. When the cop asked him if he was on any prescription or non-prescription drugs, they guy told the cop he’d taken an Ambien THE NIGHT BEFORE.
The guy was convicted of a DUI.
Remember, you’re not required to say a word to the cop. If they pull you over, you ARE being investigated for a crime. Keep your mouth shut. Where you’ve been, where you’re going, how much you’ve had to drink, or what’s in your medicine cabinet are none of their business.
1. Get an audio recording app for your smartphone, and activate it before the cop gets to the window.
2. Hand him your DL, Registration, and Insurance, then say this, and only this: “The information is correct, I do not consent to a search of my person or vehicle, and with due respect, I’m exercising my right to remain silent.”
3. Then don’t say another word. Don’t give cops the rope they’ll use to hang you. They aren’t your friend, no matter how friendly they appear to be.
4. And never, ever agree to do the Field Sobriety Tests. You WILL fail. Even if the cop doesn’t tamper with the dashcam evidence, the dashcam can’t see your eyes in the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) Test. So, the cop can easily say you had nystagmus, and the camera can’t prove him wrong.
5. The only breathalyzer you’re required to do is the one at the police station. By then, you’ve already been arrested for DUI. You can and should refuse the portable breathalyzer at the scene.
6. But be smart about drinking and driving. Just don’t drink and drive, not even after a drop. Most police departments no longer carry portable breathalyzers. So, if there’s even a whiff of alcohol on your breath, you WILL be taking a ride downtown. These are no longer the old days. Speeding, expired tags, and burned out lights are just excuses for the cops to pull you over. What they really want out of the contact is to find drugs in your car or bust you for DUI.

With all respect, Daniel, the idea that every American police officer is the problem–as though they were all gunning down unarmed Infidel women–is simply not the case.
Daniel Triplett says
1. Where did I say above that American police are “all gunning down unarmed Infidel women”?
2. Do you believe the “Blue Wall of Silence” is an honorable concept? Do you believe it’s just a myth? Why are so many Americans familiar with that phrase? Why are 100% of cops familiar with the concept and phrase?
3. You’re a woman. I’m a 49 y/o white male. We’ve therefore had different experiences in our lives. I’ve had a whole lot of police contacts in my life since the time I was 12 (and I’m an Officer and gentleman. I’m not a thug). I know cops lie, because I’ve been the victim of it a dozen times. I spent over $150,000 in attorney’s fees for one case alone. The DA suppressed all 45 PROVABLE police lies about the camera evidence the cops said “failed to record,” which was my entire defense. It did record, and I could prove it. We could prove the cops manufactured inculpatory evidence, and destroyed exculpatory evidence. Three cops perjured themselves under oath. I was 100% innocent.
4. During 75% of incidents where the police use violence against a citizen, the bodycams and dashcams mysteriously malfunction and fail to record. Why is that?
5. The “5 Step Advice” I gave in the post above came from a defense attorney association website. I didn’t make it up. Why would a defense attorney association give such advice?
So, with due respect, my remarks about police are fair and accurate.
I will say though, that I’ve commanded many State Troopers who served under me in the USAF Reserve as enlisted aircrew. Those men were honorable, fair, patriotic, outstanding airmen, with untarnished integrity. Police with a military background are far different than those without. Military swear to sacrifice their lives, if necessary, defending the Constitution. Cops, on the other hand in my experience, wipe their asses with the Constitution, regarding it as a nuisance to be circumvented. We see it all the time on the news too. It’s not just me.
Moreover, I’ve personally known at least five former cops who left policing because, in their words, “Cops are all bullies and liars.”

I grew up in a family of petty criminals and abusers, so I have had considerably more contact with police than you might think.
There is no doubt that some cops–and their departments–sometimes cover for each other. Some things I have heard indicate this may be the case with Noor’s partner.
This is disgusting when it happens.
But I have also read several posts here that imply that all American cops are just gunning down innocent citizens on a daily basis, and that one is much safer being robbed, raped, and murdered by criminals–and Jihadists–than to dare call the police, and that the police here are no different than they are in someplace like Pakistan.
The fact is that this case is very much an anomaly–and that is why people are becoming so outraged over it.
If you have had negative experiences with the police, I am sorry–but I do not believe this to be the norm.

Neither Justine Damond, Philando Castile, Tamir Rice, Daniel Triplett, nor hundreds of thousands of other Americans have ever been petty criminals and abusers. Nonetheless, all of us have been victimized by the police, and the cops virtually always get away with it.
That’s my point.
Innocent Americans are having their lives and reputations destroyed by criminal cops. It happens all day long every day.
Willful denial isn’t making the problem any better. It just makes the problem worse. This is an institutional problem, Nationally, across every police department. It must be fixed.
Look, 30 years ago, I was a bit like you, and wouldn’t have believed that right here in America, such a problem could exist. After all, cops are the good guys, here to protect us, right?

Surely, paraphrasing that definition of Ambien on Drugs.com, Ms. Justine Damond will never again experience problem with “recollection of her activity” for simple reason that she is dead now: Officer Noor made sure of that by MURDERING her! So what, if autopsy will show any trace of Ambien? Was it a license to kill for “officer” Noor? Why he is still not arrested and charged with MURDER? I am scared that this case would be used as anti-police activity (perhaps even murdering other cops), as it happened in America recently so many times. Other police officers, among any other groups, should DEMAND justice to be served in that and clean up their ranks and files from all real cops-murderers. Otherwise they will all suffer backlash sooner or later and will pay, G– forbid, with their lives!

A shadow was approaching the police car, the officer was afraid for his life, and he opened fire without having a clue who or what he was shooting at.
It reminds me of the photo of two terrified cops hiding behind a police car with guns drawn as an unarmed black man lay on his back in the street with both arms in the air. He was subsequently shot.
Cops who feel they need to be in their ‘safe-space’ have no business being issued a gun and a badge.

Noor doesn’t speak to anyone except the Press through his friends. He ignores Internal Affairs and BCA. When the do eventually interview him he’ll be able to claim he doesn’t recollect, that too much time has past. If this were Harrity shooting a Muslima with this cockamamie story he’d be arrested at least as a suspect for manslaughter
Now it’s not enough that Noor murdered Justin but his lawyer wants to desecrate her body to develop a wild theory that a pill some how was responsible for wild behavior that led to Officer Noor involuntarily using his weapon resulting in her death. Only a scum bag attorney can dream up blaming the Victim for her own death and exonerating Noor, an Officer who has displayed a penchant for violence 3 Time with law suits pending over a period of 1-1/2 years that he’s been on the Force on the police . Would a Non-Somali, Non-believer still be on the PD Force?Does the person resonsible for keeping him there have liability for Justine’s death. Such as a personal law suit not under her title as Mayor?
I hope the Australian Embassy isn’t asleep and that our State Department is also awake.
Donald R Laster Jr says
I suspect people are doing their best to try and cover up what happened. And the fact Mr Noor has not talked to the police investigators shows he knows he is in the wrong. And the more he talks to others the more his inconsistent statements are going to come back to haunt him. And I suspect he is operating in the typical Islamic mode of “the victim is responsible for what happens to them”.
Chris Malan says
What does it matter if she was on Ambien, or anything else, that made her behave strangely? Nobody, not even the cop involved, ever suggested this woman at any stage appeared to be a danger to the cop or anyone else.
The unfortunate realitiy is that the brightest kids in the top classes in school don’t become policemen. In fact… That goes for the whole world, not only the USA. I’ve long ago came to the conclusion that the police are successful as a group, much like bees. Each individual bee can be a total moron. They also have vast resources behind them. Will cops make rather stupid mistakes? You can bet the house on it. Sometimes those mistakes will have grave consequences, like in this case. These mistakes can never be totally eradicated. Even intelligent people make mistakes. But this appears to be a gigantic mistake even a cop shouldn’t make. Maybe the training should be improved.
Daniel Triplett says
Agreed.
Generally speaking, the types of people who dream about becoming cops are exactly the types of people who shouldn’t be cops.

It turns out Noor was “fast tracked”–I don’t know if he got much in the way of training–or perhaps he just did not learn much. Even worse, perhaps he did not want to.
Strong Aingek says
The muh is doing the classic shari’ah defence. If the murdered Lady were on any kind of medication his shooting her head is still cold blooded murder. Muh’s should not be employed in our Civil bodies. The Magna Carta only permitted them Merchant status and with protection, since maintained via various Statutes. Employing muh’s in sensitive Offices permits them to undermine and abuse those Offices, as is the case here ..
gravenimage says
I don’t recall the Magna Carta mentioning Mohammedans…
BlueRaven says
Ambien is not illegal. Shooting an innocent is a murder. A cop shooting an innocent when not warranted is a lot more serious crime. This mohamedian Noor need to go to prison for life for that.
jewdog says
The best cops and detectives are like the best soldiers: Calm under stress, calm under fire. The worst become nervous and unhinged easily. If you’re an hysteric, choose another profession. It seems that this guy was not only jumpy, but also misogynistic. He should start a second career working on the chain gang, in Somalia.
Rob says
So if your in your pajamas, unarmed and walking in your sleep it’s OK for a cop to shoot you? That’s this fool’s defense? The more I read about this the more I think this cop should be charged with wilful homicide.
Malon says
Even if she had taken something of these substances – how can the killer expect to be declared less guilty?
Donald R Laster Jr says
Malon, it is part of an attempt to justify his actions through deflection to try and make her behavior suspect.
A Lee says
If Ambien is a sedative, I think that would have made her calmer and LESS threatening. But really, as some of you have already said, it really doesn’t matter what medicine she was taking or not taking. There was no excuse for this cold-blooded murder.
Lon Spector says
The “Towelhead cop” wanted the flesh between her legs and was rebuffed. That’s why he
slaughtered her.
Graminator says
No wait! I think she had a salad with Russian dressing. Yep that’s it.
