Viktor Orbán told the assembled media that previous Hungarian governments had “sinned” when they failed to protect the country’s Jewish population during the Second World War, and that he had “made it clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu that the government will secure the Jewish minority and that we have zero tolerance to anti-Semitism.”
Heroic words coming from Orban, who consistently demonstrates appreciation for democracy, knowledge of true friends and responsible leadership in protecting his own people from the EU’s damaging immigration policy, in the face of critical opposition. Orban recognizes the common enemy of Israel and the West: jihadists and the jihad ideology that seeks conquest of infidels, and to replace democracy with the Shariah. Only in Israel, among all the nations of the Middle East, are all religions and races permitted equal opportunity.
“Israeli PM Says Hungary ‘At Forefront’ of Fight Against Anti-Semitism”, by Jack Montgomery, Breitbart, July 18, 2017:
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Hungary for “standing up for Israel time and again” during a historic official visit to Budapest.
Netanyahu said he was “honoured to be the first Israeli sitting prime minister to have an official visit to Hungary” in a joint press conference with Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told the assembled media that previous Hungarian governments had “sinned” when they failed to protect the country’s Jewish population during the Second World War, and that he had “made it clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu that the government will secure the Jewish minority and that we have zero tolerance to anti-Semitism.”
Netanyahu thanked the Hungarian leader for his “important words”, and suggested that it was now time to look towards the future rather than the past.
“The Jewish people have suffered great tragedy. We’ve overcome it … and also the people of Hungary [have] faced great struggles, and you’ve overcome them,” he said.
“We’ve both built modern, vibrant states; we recognise the past as we seize the future.”
“I think there’s a great future for both of us” he added, in a speech focusing on opportunities for the countries to build cultural ties and co-operate on technology, innovation and security.
Prime Minister Netanyahu was also at pains to thank Prime Minister Orbán personally for his government’s consistent support for the Jewish State on the world stage.
“I also want to thank you, Prime Minister, for standing up for Israel in international forums. You have done that time and again,” he said.
“We appreciate this stance not only because it’s standing with Israel, but it’s also standing with the truth,” he continued, alluding to the “new anti-Semitism that is expressed in anti-Zionism”.
“In many way, Hungary is at the forefront of the states that are opposed to this anti-Jewish policy, and I welcome it; I express the appreciation of my government and many people in Israel for this.”
Critics of Prime Minister Orbán’s conservative and resolutely anti-mass migration government, including senior EU officials such as European Commission First Vice-president Frans Timmermans, have smeared the Central European country as “anti-Semitic” for speaking out against the activities of George Soros, the billionaire financier and open borders activist.
The Hungarian government has repudiated these charges as “cynical and dishonest”, insisting that its quarrel with Soros centres on the fact that he is “destabilising governments in the Balkans, supporting enemies of Israel, and sending to Europe hundreds of thousands of unchecked migrants from the Middle East and Africa, some of which are home to terrorist organisations” – not his Jewish heritage.
Israel’s foreign ministry released a supportive statement in relation to the accusations, noting that it is important not to “delegitimize criticism of George Soros…..

At least some still know and speak the truth. He also has the courage to stand against the EU. A rare, genuine man of integrity in this age of lies and deception.

That EU officials would make the charge of anti-semitism against Hungary when it is the EU itself that is endangering Europe’s Jewish heritage and population by importing the adherents of the most anti-semitic ideology on the face of the planet, is breath-taking in it’s cynicism.
Whether by design or not, Merkel is continuing the job of driving the Jews out of Europe that the Nazis started.

It’s important to make these distinctions, to have an eye to detail. People with Jewish backgrounds should not be shielded in any special way from the normal cut and thrust of politics and debate on any issues. The same can be said for anyone from any other cultural or religious tradition. Israel is the home of the Jews and naturally has their broader welfare at heart. But at the level of the individual, behaviour has ranged from human bastardry to humanitarian greatness and those people can be judged accordingly. If as some have claimed, the current PC obsession originated with the special sensitivity to language and enquiry surrounding the Holocaust, then the likes of Mr Netanyahu and Mr Orban are doing well to move things forward into the modern Trump era of plain speaking and real debate. The political leadership of Germany and the U.K. would do well to follow their lead.
