Sermons by radical preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, aired by Iman FM during Ramadan, “amounted to a direct call to action to members of the Muslim community to prepare for and carry out violent action against non-Muslim people.”
This series went on for some time, without complaints from viewers. It is revealing that this station was inciting hatred and violence against the infidel with no immediate outcries from those Muslims who listened.
It is not enough to have the station’s license revoked. The station’s managers should face charges, as should the case every time Muslims broadcast messages that “condone, promote and encourage violent behaviour towards non-Muslim people.”
“‘Imam FM’: Muslim Radio Station Has Licence Revoked After Broadcasting Call to Violence Sermons”, by Virginia Hale, Breitbart, July 28, 2017:
A Sheffield-based Muslim radio station has had its license revoked for broadcasting more than 25 hours of sermons “encouraging and condoning” violence against non-Muslims.
Iman FM had its license suspended earlier in the month by Ofcom for playing lectures by radical preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, but the station claimed it was not aware of his background.
According to the broadcasting regulator, sermons by the infamous al-Qaeda recruiter which were aired by Iman FM during Ramadan “amounted to a direct call to action to members of the Muslim community to prepare for and carry out violent action against non-Muslim people.”
Ofcom further stated that the cumulative effect of al-Awlaki’s statements in the lectures broadcast would “condone, promote and encourage violent behaviour towards non-Muslim people.”
A spokesman for the watchdog told the BBC that Iman Media UK Limited was “unfit to hold a license”, adding: “We have strict rules prohibiting harmful content in programmes likely to incite crime.”
Iman FM, the mission statement of which is “equipping the generation towards a cohesive society”, had previously claimed it had not listened to all the lectures because of time constraints, the broadcasts happening during Ramadan, and its only being a small radio station.
Awlaki was designated a global terrorist by the US Government in 2010, and was described as a ‘leader, recruiter and trainer for al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’ by the UN Security Council the following year.
His sermons are thought to have inspired terrorist attacks including the attack on the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris in 2015 in which 12 people died and the 2009 Fort Hood shootings, in which 13 U.S. soldiers were killed.
As Breitbart London reported earlier this month, a petition was set up “in support of IMAN FM being allowed to carry on with its radio broadcasts and for Ofcom not to revoke its license,” in response to the radio station’s suspension from air……

Lies upon lies upon even more lies. What else is to be expected?
They knew who Awlaki is …. if we infidels know of him then for sure these muslim radio stations know who he is.
Jail for all involved in the incitement and public condemnation of the muslim community listeners who never complained.

The funny part is how lame the excuses are starting to sound. Always the same – “mosque hires a known extremist” – “oh, we didn’t know what talk he would give” – “shop sells a bunch of jihadi DVDs” – “ah, we should have checked more carefully our stock” – and so on and so forth. So many “accidental” incidences
There’s a web circling now. I can detect a change in the atmosphere.
That Debbie Wasserman Schultz story is looking huge. Hugely predictable to anyone with a brain, but huge in terms of exposing just how susceptible the democrats have allowed themselves to become – might aswell just tap the muslim brotherhood directly into their core funding and support staff networks, and have them dance around doing as told. Not far off that I bet.
Western society has been very “open” and “welcoming” for quite some time.
I love how Awan initially tried to claim “islamophobia” after the smashed up disks found. But then the FBI swiftly descended on a host of other reasons to indict him. 11 years employment, direct Clinton Croney. it’s all most interesting.
Peeling away the full totality of all islamizing efforts could take a while. But the good thing is once it gets going the cries of “islamophobia” will become every more entertaining, because ever more ridiculous.
not surprised about the petition either. such a joke I reckon the islam weakness is they just don’t know when to stop. they are so convinced they are superior and in the right that they just press on regardless under nearly all circumstances
And thereby reveal intentions.

More victimhood: they didn’t have even a general idea of what they were going to broadcast, didn’t have time to research…what station management works this way?
al-Awlaki crowing, plus the station’s mission statement, equals Imam FM knew exactly what they wanted “the generation” to hear, and the type of ‘cohesion’ they are working towards.

“Iman FM, the mission statement of which is “equipping the generation towards a cohesive society”……
And what kind of ‘cohesive society’ would that be, one might ask? To which ideology would it be ‘cohering’? No brownie points for a correct guess.
Completely off-topic, Transport for London have issued their advice for tube travel in hot weather with flyers and posters at all Underground stations. The flyers are quite OK, just giving the text information, One of the posters that I saw was, however, quite different, with cartoon illustrations added. The bit that instructed passengers about seeking medical help from a TfL employee had the figure of an (apparently) 30-something English man supposedly in some difficulty receiving help from the figure of a Tfl employee who was – wait for it! – an apparently 20-something MUSLIM female, complete with cartoon hijab, and carrying her official TfL medical case with the customary medical CROSS on it!! I was going to take a picture of this utterly inappropriate poster at some point on my return journey in order to make a complaint, but oddly couldn’t find it again. Three points come to mind:- (a) the depiction of that kind of Tfl employee seems hardly representative in my experience, since I’ve never noticed a single hijab-wearing Tfl muslima on my travels, so there can’t be too many of them; (b) from what I understand from my readings of Islamic texts, the image of a ‘kind’ muslim offering help and assistance to an ‘unbeliever’ is so grossly and inappropriate as to be offensive; (c) if this is yet another instance of ‘official’ deliberately misleading Islamic propaganda being slipped it in where it is completely inappropriate, AND paid for out of my fares or local taxes, then it is totally and utterly unacceptable. Now, just who might have been behind this I khan’t possibly think!

Could it possibly be London Mayor, Sadiq Khan? His office is in charge of Transport for London.

Good, but there is still a lot of hate preached in the mosques. License mosques, and close those that preach the full truth of Islam.
AzB says
Yeah pretty much…they should be preaching only some watered down version suitable for modern times. Where the “historical context” they are always using to defend source texts is actually required to be linked in any major serman or presentation.
The more violent stuff – history and philosophy and politics of jihad and so forth – could be left for academic research from specialist libraries. But not just casually lying around everywhere.
I think we reached the limits of western tolerance of freedom of info with some of that stuff, due to the density of networks actively attempting to give life to it. (Backed up by an even denser network spread over countless however many countries in a fraternity that is by and large quite sympathetic to advancing the ideology).
At teh very least religious texts should have a commentary. That’s probably the best way compared to outright ban. Outright ban might lead to a lot of other bans, some could be politically engineered to repress criticism of religions altogether.
Maybe providing “variety of readings/contexts” with a main one that’s inline with the apologetics given would be best way. Online would lead to maybe a few little changes – such as sites like this providing a higher ratio of counterargument stories (muslims doing good stuff).
Probably worth it though. To get rid of some of the poison in the networks so as to turn more minds away from the terrorism and more towards civic involvement. Or else if don’t like the ideological restrictions then head off some place where war is deemed a religious glory still.
AzB says
id like to see some kind of counter-salafi movement because its so austere and totally the opposite to “multicultural pluralism” – its an outright rejection.
its mainly the result of saudi propaganda. They just paid to make muslims in the west more aloof, untrusting, unfriendly, taught them to “not accept christians and jews as friends” etc. taught them its wrong to enjoy , well, just about anything (music, art, writing fiction, anything less than a niqab, dancing , fraternizing, pets…). I just can’t see the point of living in the west if those are your values because the range of jobs is limited…when there are too many of you like that in an area, the economy will decline…then everyeone will sit on welfare more…making a spiral that tempt youngsters into crime more…and the women will just have babies…and the men will curse everyone else here (in their hearts), .. and from time to time one of them will get radicalised…and the populations will just grow , creating lag, deterring tourism and other businesses, causing other groups to drift out of previously thriving parts of cities, that will then become a depressed monoculture.
All because we let saudi carry on pumping the stuff into the mosques, etc. Well…mainly because of htat. at least it certainly makes it worse, and makes all the negative trends go faster and more intensive.
So yeah. given the rate of population growth we should be disruptive. No need to be nasty about it. Just pro-actively “socially plan” more of these neighbours and give them oversight.
Inject more variety of businesses in; block housing applications which make too much monoculture; preferentially support other cultures if an area is “going ghetto-ized” before it actually reaches that point.
Or else its all just going to look the same in the end and cost us a hell of a lot in welfare, sorting out crime and disorder, terrorism, security monitoring, prison and social work. definitely won’t make any money back on immigration if that’s the case.
Indeed, we already running a negative on the non-EEA migration since 1990s now. It was positive at first but its gone into the red now.
So yeah. We have to disrupt. Many societies actively disrupt ideas that are becoming onerous to sort out. Its not ideal but there are limits.

“The station’s managers should face charges, as should the case every time Muslims broadcast messages that “condone, promote and encourage violent behaviour towards non-Muslim people.””
So reading from the koran and hadiths should be banned? Or only done with a warning that this is for discussion only, not for action?
We really have a big problem: the koran commands violence but is protected as a ‘religious text’. How can we ever get around that? I once rang and asked a bureaucratic agency why sura 4:34 is permitted in my country, since the government is meant to be strictly against domestic violence. Outcome: mealy mouthed bureaucrat told me they wouldn’t do anything. Religious instructions to violence are OK, it seems. Religion can get away with anything.
AzB says
I don’t think we can or should ban the actual religious book, its the interpretations which are a direct call to “hate the unbeliever” (and nothing to modify that), or a direct call to arms (“without very strict conditions on when and how” eg ‘during a legal war’).
It’s tricky but it can be done because many countries banned Hitz ut-Tahrir including some muslim ones. They just simply classify entire organisation and manuals etc as seditious . Germany banned them.
We like to think of free speech and assembly as without limits, but via licensing and other rules, governments can be heavy handed when they need to be.

If determined to get rid of salafism, you could identify a collection of societal harms associated with salafism. It might take a few years to build up the collections of studies but you could eventually get there i’m sure.
Depressed economy
Higher segregation
Less uptake of English courses
Child abuse found in schools
Higher proporation of hate lit/extremist lit
Interceptions of plots
and so forth
And just conclude “this isn’t good for our society”.
similar to analysing smoking lol
and then just close all the gateways you know about.
AzB says
Freedom of Religion is open to interpretation. Obviously if your religion involves human sacrifice of virgins on an altar, that will not be allowed lol.
Some hate preaching is really not much better!
moeped says
Guaranteed the radio station was 100% funded by the taxpayer, including their salaries under made up names while they collect welfare.
Our governments are full of book-smart buffoons and / or traitors. Either way, all staff should be charged and prosecuted for hate crimes.
Getting (legally?) tough with these sick fucks is long overdue.
AzB says
we haven’t got the space to lock em all up.
This being one of the strongest arguments of all against mass immigration.
Does the tax payer really want an increasingly large millstone around the neck? It seems unlikely…
And the age of carting prisoners off to an island someplace has long since passed. (although it might make a welcome return in a future century who knows lol)

Islam Preaches the genocide of all unbelievers. Religious freedom is foolish nonsense. Queen Elizabeth gave the order back in 1588 that no Spanish sailors were to be given quarter, that means taken prisoner
after the Spanish armada was defeated. Compared to Queen Elizabeth the first or even Queen Victoria Queen Elizabeth is pathetic. England is still a monarchy, Members of Parliament take an oath to serve her majesty the Queen. Even the Prime minister of Canada has to take an oath to serve her majesty and the oath includes keeping the secrets of the Queen. No English colony is a “Democracy” to be a “Democracy” or a “Republic” the people have to have a “Bill of Rights” such as the first amendment. England does not have a 1st amendment. We Americans had to have a Revolution to get our democracy. consequently we are the world’s ONLY democracy. And do not forget that we fought our Revolution against England. Only one person signs all the laws in England and that is the Queen therefore it is her fault that England has become a cesspit.
