Yesterday I published an email from Soros-funded ProPublica’s Lauren Kirchner, threatening to use the Southern Poverty Law Center’s spurious hate group listing to pressure various platforms to drop Jihad Watch. Kirchner apparently was angered by having her fascism publicly exposed, since even though she sent her threatening letter to many people, today at 1:45PM, ProPublica published its hit piece, and it led off with me:
Because of its “extreme hostility toward Muslims,” the website Jihadwatch.org is considered an active hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League. The views of the site’s director, Robert Spencer, on Islam led the British Home Office to ban him from entering the country in 2013.
But its designation as a hate site hasn’t stopped tech companies — including PayPal, Amazon and Newsmax — from maintaining partnerships with Jihad Watch that help to sustain it financially. PayPal facilitates donations to the site. Newsmax — the online news network run by President Donald Trump’s close friend Chris Ruddy — pays Jihad Watch in return for users clicking on its headlines. Until recently, Amazon allowed Jihad Watch to participate in a program that promised a cut of any book sales that the site generated. All three companies have policies that say they don’t do business with hate groups.
Within hours, PayPal bowed to this defamation. At 6:02PM, I got this email from PayPal:
RE: Notice of PayPal Account Limitation
Dear Robert Spencer,
We have recently reviewed your usage of PayPal’s services, as reflected in
our records and on your website https://www.jihadwatch.org. Due to the
nature of your activities, we have chosen to discontinue service to you in
accordance with PayPal’s User Agreement. As a result, we have placed a
permanent limitation on your account. We ask that you please remove all references to PayPal from your website.
This includes removing PayPal as a payment option, as well as the PayPal
logo and/or shopping cart.If you have a remaining balance, you may withdraw the money to your bank
account. Information on how to withdraw money from your PayPal account can
be found via our Help Center. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions or
need our support, please contact the PayPal Brand Risk Management

And please help us keep going: donate here. Your donation helps me, among other things, appear at worthy events that can’t fund my appearance, and keeps our website operating.
The SPLC lumps legitimate groups in with real hate groups in order to defame its political foes, but PayPal allowed no discussion, no appeal. It acted as judge, jury, and executioner.
In reality, I oppose jihad mass murder. PayPal apparently thinks that makes me a “hatemonger.” I oppose the murder of people who decide in conscience to leave Islam. PayPal thinks that makes me a “right-wing extremist.” I oppose honor killings, female genital mutilation, scripturally-sanctioned wife-beating, etc. PayPal thinks that means I am too hateful to use their service.
So: if you support the work of Jihad Watch, close your PayPal account now. Contact them and tell them why. Tell all your friends that PayPal has bowed to Left-fascism, and to boycott it.
The Left is moving in for the kill now and trying to delegitimize and silence all voices of dissent. Don’t allow this rapidly creeping totalitarianism to succeed.

Just went to the message board and asked the community why they are canceling the jihadwatch.org account and if there is anything that can be done about it.
I will have to cancel my account as well.
Victoria says
I went to the community board and asked them for alternatives to PayPal so I can move my account. I will give them a week or two to change their minds. It’s hard to do business these days with all the self-righteous companies out there.
Westman says
What the H– is a “bank” doing inserting itself into politics without congressional direction? I would suggest also contacting your Congressmen and let them know that PayPal is inserting itself as a political gatekeeper to your interests and badly needs regulation.
This company couldn’t more brilliantly shoot itself in the foot. Please, please PayPal, step on Breitbart and see what happens.
I would suggest that everyone here send emails to Breitbart informing it of how these thug companies ganged up on Jihad Watch at the demand of the SPLC and ProPublica. That should be worth watching.
Joe says
Yeah, I bet that “user agreement” doesn’t stand up to a discrimination suit. It has to be extremely clear such as “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service.” Facebook and other publishing sites have more legal code in their favor which would make it harder (not impossible) to win against them. Paypal doesn’t publish with this service, so they have less protection.
Bigots who break the law should be sued.
gravenimage says
Because of its “extreme hostility toward Muslims,” the website Jihadwatch.org is considered an active hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League.
……………………..
The “extreme hostility” of wanting them to stop mutilating girls, “marrying” little children, raping Infidels, throwing gay people from tall buildings, stoning women to death, and blowing us up and running us over.
How *dare* we object to such horrors?
Dehne mclaugjlin says
Agree
Westman says
Imagine how this will play to Hindu followers, and India, the most persecuted group by Muslims in the world. I’ve listened to their exchanges on the streets of NY and Chicago, and Apple’s Cook couldn’t have done more damage by protecting the persecuters of Indians.
There are 1.3 Billion Indians, who are not needing the SPLC, Apple, and PayPal interferrence, that now have a reason to dump Apple. I wonder what Cook’s Indian employees, many more of them than Muslims, think about shutting down criticism of the ideology that wants to annihilate them?
Vann Boseman says
Westman,
My wife and I wrote a book concerning radical Islam. At some point Western interest in our book largely declined. Activity concerning our book escalated though in likes from India. While I like that people in India may be reading our book, I did not like it that they did not usually want to pay for reading the book. I have not posted on our FB site for the book because of that. Until now. I posted a link to this article and that I will no longer use PP.
Westman says
I hear you Vann. Sorry to hear of the unwillingness to pay in India.
India’s citizens can”t avoid paying for their iphones so Apple is damaging its sales there. Samsung must be overjoyed and, if smart, will see that Indians know that Apple is shutting down criticism of Islam.
gravenimage says
Vann, do you have a link on how to buy your book?
Vann Boseman says
Gravenimage,
This site is for Robert Spencer and Jihad Watch. I do not have a problem discussing books by many people including my own, but it doesn’t feel right to provide a link on how to buy my book here. My email is vann.boseman@gmail.com. If you send me a request, I’ll be happy to send you a link.

I dont need to do business with a merchant that insists on groupthink, or worse,

This will not affect my monthly donation to Jihad Watch. I send my donation directly, have for years.
Pay Pal is a liberal trash outfit, just like google and the rest. There are many ways to support Jihad Watch and Robert Spencer. The liberal leftist trash folks never stop in their campaign to say Robert Spencer and Jihad Watch is a hate group.
Jihad Watch and Robert Spencer are a national treasure, and a force of truth which defies the liberals childish efforts to silence the truth.
Terry Gain says
I am up voting you. Thanks. Spencer may yet save western civilization. There are very few others as well equipped to do do as him. He is a courageous genius.

I more and more feel like this is a hopeless fight.
Not just in Europe, but certainly in the U.S. as well.
Look at what happened in Boston today!
– We are NOT winning.
Our arguments are solid and our intentions are pure, but we are loosing.
The darkness of ignorance and malice has often triumphed over the Light of reason in human history – and we still haven’t escaped from these shadows, that much is clear.
Things will only get worse from here.
– Sorry for my pessimism , but I just can’t come to any other conclusion.
Daniel Triplett says
Live free or die. Never surrender.

I agree with you Mockingjay – I live in germanistan : we get oppressed , prosecuted , threatened — Muslim , our own government , lefties , good doers — ALL are against us !
They surrender to Barbarism and oil 🙁
what a shame !!!
We cannot win cos nobody is really interested to fight radical Islam !
gravenimage says
Mockingjay, things looked pretty hopeless before WWII, when so many were appeasing Fascism or even lauding it as “modern”, and brave souls like Churchill were dismissed as “hysterics”, or–even more grotesquely–as “warmongers”.
But those who knew the truth about the threat kept warning, and *did* eventually win though.
And remember who you named yourself for–things looked pretty dark for the Mockingjay many times, as well.
Things *are* dark now–but it is essential that we do not give in to despair. We can still win through.
Mockingjay says
Thanks Graven, – and everyone else who replied to my post.
And no – I do not intend to give up. How could I give up on the truth? Or on what I know is right? Or on freedom itself?
I just can’t.
– But it sure is hard at times…
gravenimage says
I know how you feel. Chin up.
Joy D. Brower says
I tend to agree, Graven Image, about the pessimistic view of our plight – trying to get THE TRUTH out to the masses. A real-life example is right here, in the very charming and super-friendly small apartment complex where I live. I usually don’t engage in political conversation with these very nice (but totally uneducated and VERY uninformed!) folks. However, when I do casually mention some current event and maybe one or another may chime in, their responses are, at best, vacuous and, at least, uninformed and, yes, ignorant! They simply do NOT know what is going on the world outside their very narrow bubble! It’s astounding, but I know they ALL have an idiot box in their living room, and many of them have it on 24/7 or whenever they’re at home and/or awake! By contrast, I get ALL my news online and at intelligent sites such as this (and others, too, of course). There simply is NO comparison with the sort of super-intelligent and KNOWLEDGEABLE folks I read/meet here at this site. (Gates of Vienna has some amazing comments and articles as well!). Suffice to say, all of my lovely (but ignorant!) apartment neighbors (mostly under 50 or even 60) see only the MSM on TV and even fewer actually read newspapers (but the regional rags are super liberal, so they’re being “spared” that avenue of indoctrination!). Bottom line: Only another 9-11 (God forbid!) MAY have the power to bring us all together and face our COMMON enemy: Islam (or, for the more politically sensitive, Radical Islam).
traci94 says
I feel pretty pessimistic as well. I have just found that NO ONE is interested in this topic. I have brought this subject up to my pastor more than once, and I really thinks he just chalks my concern up to OCD or something. Additionally, he said that most Muslims are peaceful! I’ve brought this up to a friend, and she said that she just doesn’t “share my interest in Islam”. One day she will have no choice but to share my interest in Islam. My mom’s boyfriend and I got into an argument about this, and he wouldn’t believe anything negative because he has “nice Muslim friends.” I’m not sure HOW to bring this issue up in natural conversation. I don’t understand how terror attacks continue to happen on an almost daily basis and people just don’t seem to make the connection. When a racist like the guy who shot people in the Charleston church commit a crime, the whole country freaks out and starts ripping down Confederate flags. If a Muslim commits a crime, it has nothing to do with Islam, and we have to worry about Muslim backlash. Such hypocrisy. It’s as if the whole world has gone deaf and blind. Although I do feel pessimistic, I am thankful for courageous warriors like Robert, Pam Geller, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Geert Wilders, and I hope they continue their good work. I will continue to learn more about Islam and hope that I will become more bold in my sharing.
Jim says
Traci, a strategy I use in one-on-one discussions with brainwashed lefties is to immediately concede their point that most Muslims are nice, peaceful, friendly, whatever. That takes that diversion off the table. Because you’re never going to win if you get diverted there. Then focus the conversation on the topic of radical Islam, sharia, terrorism, whatever your point is. You will probably find it necessary to repeatedly say, “I agree, but that’s not what I’m talking about. Can you please focus on my point?” You can get sarcastic regarding the wonderful, peaceful Muslims, and say “I know some great restaurants (dress shops, vacation spots, etc) too, but that is not the topic of this conversation. I am discussing terrorism. Can we please focus?”
People find it totally disarming when you say “You’re right”. Then they are more likely to listen.
Try this strategy out, and let me know if you get any positive results.
roel de boer says
I loved your comment. I feel exactly the same!
gravenimage says
Agreed. I live in a bluer-than-blue state, and educating any of my neighbors–who are otherwise almost all decent and intelligent people–about the threat of Islam is difficult to impossible.
Tim says
Mockingjay, I had a friend visit me from England and she was visibly frightened when she saw a cop or state trooper. She was convinced they were going to turn their guns on her. The point is TV makes it appear as if the whole town of Boston was inflamed however two blocks away from the mob life goes on. Think, when was the last time you personally saw an ANTIFA goon, a Black Lies Matter moron, etc. These facists are miniscule in number. There are probably more trans-genders than ANTIFA and, I don’t know about you but I’ve never met a transgender. Remember, Whitaker Chambers thought there was no way we could defeat Communism………………….but we did.
Westman says
Actually we, America, are winning at a snail’s pace. These demonstrations aren’t about their stated cause, they are about youth being disillusioned about their prospects and blaming other factors for their disappointment. We saw this same thing in the 60’s and then they went on to become the most virulent capitalists of all time. Find me a 75 year old hippy who actually had a career and I’ll show you someone with a stock portfolio.
Even poor Lauren Kirchner, of ProPublica doesn’t realize, in her anti-establishment fervor, that the men around her, 3 of which eat up 75% of the administrative costs, are capitalists. I saw this repeatedly, in my business, where “journalists” were fed bread crumbs while using them up.
So buck up, this will pass when the proponents find their behavior only makes their prospects worse. Communism doesn’t work.
Wellington says
I’m encouraged by your optimism, Westman.
Mark Swan says
Yes thank you Westman for that perspective.
John S. Obeda says
Friend Mockingjay, You remind me of the ancient prophet Jeremiah. The Lord God called him to pronounce His judgments on His people because of their wickedness (chapter 1:16). And God told Jeremiah that His people will not listen to him, but he is to go anyway. God bless us all with the same attitude that God had. Tell the truth anyway even if we have to suffer for doing so. God helped Jesus to suffer for the sake of truth. God help us too. Speak the truth in love.

“Another democrat president would put the last nail in the US coffin.”

carpediadem says
One of the reasons all this is happening is because the Left set itself up with supporting groups and institutions who support their candidates and they reproduce these constantly.
The Right don’t do this, have never done this and expect their elected candidate to do everything himself without supporting groups to help him and campaign for him and their policies.
The Right do not understand how to build communities of support, though thank heavens we have Spencer, Geller and a few others.
Wellington says
Will never use PAYPAL again.
Also, the extremely limited Kirchner learned NOTHING from Robert Spencer’s devastating response to her fascist-like communication to him.
So here’s my personal message to Kirchner: You are, though not realizing it, an enemy of free speech. You hide behind the bogus distinction of free speech versus hate speech. But this distinction is Orwellian and you, massively ignorant of Islam as I’m sure you are, will miss all this. Fitting, since so much does miss you. Finally, you make me sick. You are an enemy of liberty and you are too foolish to realize this. You are part of the ongoing effort to silence the voices of freedom. Shame on you forever for this.

Good luck with “the free speech thing,” epistemology. Unfortunately, I think the shutting down of freedom is more advanced in Europe than over here across the pond. Also, we have the First Amendment and it has been a mighty friend of freedom. Take good care, my friend.

I called Ebay, and there is no problem with disconnecting PayPal from your account and using a credit card instead.
So PayPal, goodbye. There are other companies that will be happy to pick up the slack.
I imagine that when Ebay set PayPal free to increase its revenue the investors never thought it would become so arrogant as to enter politics. But then it’s in San Jose, the arrogance city of California where even Steve Jobs could get away with no auto license plates.

During the audit of the secret part of the military, such as NSA, CIA, and so forth, the GAO came up with a $6 Trillion (yes trillion with a ‘T’) error. That was in the news for a few minutes, and then no one talks about it now.
Don’t forget that by all accounts Al Qaeda was started by CIA. It is extremely unlikely that OBL could have carried forward after the CIA handed over 20,000 (or more) names in all different countries and languages. It would take a staff of more than 50 people to handle that. OBL was a college student who spent his weekends in Afghanistan. It is my guess that the Deep State is still in bed with radical Islam (or just call it Islam).
Islam was killing people in the 1970s, but they didn’t get all the publicity and support that they get today. I would suppose that they have friends in high places.

I tried several months ago to donate to Jihad Watch through PayPal. They refuse to connect with Internet Explorer 11, which is the latest version for Windows 7. I have a very good computer that I built from pieces using Win 7. Win 7 has programs that enable things that cannot be done on Windows 10, which uses Edge, that PayPal accepts. In order to deal with the impasse, I went to the post office, bought a money order and sent it to JW etc. That way JW gets all the money without PayPal getting its “cut”; a very pleasing outcome. Sometimes tests like this show who our friends and enemies are. Good riddance to PayPal. I doubt they will miss the business and commissions. But I will feel better regardless. Best wishes and strongest support for JW.

The “Dear Robert Spencer” letter ends:

Most humans have a forename and a surname. Not so Ronita, who has a robot-like name. Who is this A.I. entity Ronita? When did xe come online? Is xe affiliated with Skynet?
Mockingjay says
Thanks for the laugh Mark Spahn. I sure can use a laugh.
carpediadem says
he’s lucky to have got a “Ronita”, many official communications have no name at all!
Vann Boseman says
I noticed this too. The letter is a formal notice that they will no longer do business with Jihad Watch. Using only the first name is something you do when writing to a friend. I would like to think that she is trying to remain somewhat anonymous by not fully identifying herself because she knows deep down that she is wrong. Sadly, I think the truth is that she is just not competent to know what is appropriate in writing such a letter.

In closing, I mentioned the answers to the problem of terror are in more and not less discussion, and in this PayPal is worsening a global crisis. I did let them know that if they reinstated the accounts of JihadWatch and some other counter-jihadist sites I’d consider opening a new account.

Is there no legal recourse? I wonder… defamation of character is a legal position, is it not?
Your character has been defamed. Can’t a lawsuit be undertaken to restore your good name and sue
ProPubica, and Paypal for defamation?? Or am I on think ice.
Georg says
Not a lawyer, but I’d guess one would have to convince a judge or jury that the terms of service were not violated beyond a reasonable doubt. But who knows, maybe PayPal has other clauses in their terms that effectively allow then to act as a tyrant. I don’t think all these companies acting this way in concert is coincidence. Reeks of collusion to some extent indicating an effective cabal.
Frank Anderson says
Georg, a lawsuit would cost millions, give them billions in free publicity and probably not win. As a private business unless they violate a recognized “civil right” they would probably skate. They might even be awarded attorney fees and litigation expenses against the plaintiffs (the people and attorneys filing the suit). The best, most effective and the most beneficial way to deal with the fascists and totalitarians is to move out of their control to carry our message to people who have not joined them YET. I have seen a number of cases where “private” parties have flagrantly violated basic rights and were invulnerable to court challenge.
By all means, if the question exists in your mind, please consult a currently licensed and practicing attorney for advice. I have filed a number of cases that I HAD to file for my own peace of mind. The satisfaction of making a record that could not be destroyed meant a lot. I really had no alternative but to fight. In this situation there are many much more effective alternatives available.
mgoldberg says
What then is ‘defamation of character’? as a legal term.
Has not R Spencer been defamed? Has not this Kirchner gal in fact defamed R Spencer
by not even answering the very questions she posited- as presumptuous as they were, as
demonstrably biased, she should have waited for an answer, and indeed debated the reality with Spencer. She was the shill for propublica and it was all going down without any
thing but intimidation, and yes… loss of income and the right to do business based on a defamation of character. Is this not the basis of ‘defamation of character’?
It doesn’t necessarily cost millions, and all of us would be moved to begun contributing small amounts to this cause.
Frank Anderson says
mgoldberg, you are correct that a defamation issue is present. The first problem I believe in making a profitable case, one that recovers far more than it costs to prosecute, is to measure the damages. I once filed a defamation case where the slander was fully documented by a recording and witnesses and devastating to the plaintiff. The state law by statute presumed actual damages and allowed both punitive damages and attorney fees. But the judge who tried the case awarded a dollar, nominal damages. The plaintiff and his attorneys were exhausted by the time it went to trial and with the Supreme Court of the state upholding almost 90 percent of lower court rulings, could not see further appeals.
Crowd funding litigation is a poor way to seek a remedy. It would be far more productive and beneficial to use the money for Jihad Watch purposes rather than trying the teach the unteachable idiots a lesson. PayPal would get BILLIONS of free publicity with the audience it seeks and supports, while those conducting the suit work for years to get it and keep it in court. The best lesson is to cost PayPal money by denying them business AND free advertising. Again, I understand that reasonable people may differ with my opinion. Please consult a currently licensed and practicing attorney who has experience in defamation cases for better advice.
Georg says
Unfortunately seems like a massively uphill battle to seek reinstatement or damages — not to mention expensive. Casinos, for instance, can more or less arbitrarily expel any patron at any time.
As for defamation, doesn’t that have to be statements about someone which are untrue or confidential which cause harm?
Frank Anderson says
Georg, again you are pretty close to correct on the claim (cause of action). There are 4 different kinds of defamation recognized. Since it has been 37 years since I took and passed 2 bar examinations, I may need correction on any number of details. Slander is spoken falsehood that injures a person’s reputation. Libel is written slander. Disclosure of private facts arises from making public information that is not public and reasonably considered private and embarrassing to the victim who would be the plaintiff. Intrusion into the seclusion or privacy starts with violating the privacy of a person in search of those private facts with the goal of discrediting or embarrassing the plaintiff. Truth of the statement is an absolute defense to libel and slander claims, but is not a defense to the other two.
Getting the claim (complaint) into court and keeping it there against a number of motions to dismiss depends on being able to show the elements of the claim. Only at trial will the issue of damages come in, and after years of back and forth discovery and litigation at great expense, could easily result in a winning verdict that awards damages totally insufficient to cover the costs of litigation, attorney fees, wasted time for the plaintiff and witnesses, expert witness fees (necessary to help support the damage claim). I have seen it happen a number of times, after months and years of work.
Please do some reading on defamation and consult a currently licensed and practicing attorney to know for yourself.
Georg says
Mgoldberg,
On second thought… maybe the implication JihadWatch contains hate speech could be construed as an untrue accusation characterizing Robert or his speech which does seem like straightforward defamation leading to material damage. Just gets back to the above concern of cost versus benefit of seeking damages, unfortunately.
Seems like leaving PayPal and letting them know why we’re leaving is the best bet right now. Also, appealing to reasonable friends or family to do the same could go a long way. Sadly, too often these issues come down to “might makes right”.
Frank Anderson says
Georg, this is another example, in my opinion, where educating PayPal is “throwing pearls before swine”. They know what they have done. They decided to do it. They could care less, or might even be thrilled, at the prospect they have raised your blood pressure or caused a heart attack or stroke. I would just cease using PayPal and patronizing businesses that demand payment through PayPal without saying a word.
Georg says
Thanks for all that info, Frank. Helps frame why things do or don’t happen in instances similar to this.
Frank Anderson says
Georg, when I fought many of my battles I had no one to guide me. I would have done better if I had. “A wise man harkeneth to counsel; A fool in his own eyes is always right.” Col. T.C. Huckabee, from Proverbs, exact translation unknown. I at least taught my enemies to fear the sight of me and the sound of my name. They have kept their distance and left me alone ever since. The most dangerous person in the world is the one who has nothing left to lose.

people need to start boycotting these big internet corporations like paypal, you tube ,google ,amazon etc .they have become too powerful and control the lives of billions in ways we cant even comprehend . they have become the new big governments in essence, stealthily taking away our rights in a democratic society .slowly our constitutional rights are being eroded and the real elected government is being rendered redundant .they are the new nobility and the people, the peasant class .
funny how the same communist types who pay lip service to hating capitalism are using the benefits of capitalism to enforce their ideology.
folks need to bring class action lawsuits against them. they have become political tools rather than businesses . a baker gets to pay a fine by government for refusing to bake for a gay wedding but paypal ,twitter, facebook etc can refuse to do business with you because you hold a different political opinion and they are not sanctioned .there is something wrong with this picture .

I think this approach is correct. We need to invigorate a new search engine, such as Start Page and push it to the top. YouTube should be abandoned, surely there are other video carriers who would be willing to post within reason and not censor. Paypal needs to have all its clients move to other internet organizations providing the same type of service.
I think we need to let the sickness have its final course, and not engage with such organizations as they seem to take their vigor from the fight. How can they fight, if we walk away? Let evil die.

This has worked far too quickly, so pp has set a miserable precedent, in caving to threats. Who will these ‘activists’ target next?
It’s also conveniently timed so soon after Charlottesville, when so much angst has been generated, very suspicious given the left wing organisation behind that and this.
If pp are so worried about brand risk, they should consider what colluding with terrorist sympathisers might do to their reputation.
This certainly needs to be addressed, especially if they hold a monopolistic or equivalent position
I’m taking a little r&r in S America right now, so gonna take a while to get extricate myself, when I get back home.
I don’t really know what pp even does, it just seems to get in between online transactions and grab a commission.
Is it necessary, and what are the alternatives, please.

Dear Robert Spencer,
We have recently reviewed your usage of PayPal’s services, as reflected in our records and on your website https://www.jihadwatch.org. Due to the nature of your activities, we have chosen to discontinue service to you in accordance with PayPal’s User Agreement. As a result, we have placed a permanent limitation on your account.
We ask that you please remove all references to PayPal from your website.
This includes removing PayPal as a payment option, as well as the PayPal logo and/or shopping cart.
If you have a remaining balance, you may withdraw the money to your bank account. Information on how to withdraw money from your PayPal account can be found via our Help Center.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions or need our support, please contact the PayPal Brand Risk Management

PayPal
And please help us keep going: donate at Stripe.com to director@jihadwatch.org. Your donation helps me appear at worthy events that can’t fund my appearance, and keeps our website operating.
The Left is moving in for the kill now and trying to delegitimize and silence all voices of dissent. Don’t allow this rapidly creeping totalitarianism to succeed.

I just got through reading my monthly Imprimis newsletter from Hillsdale College that I get free in the mail.
It spoke mostly of our values today and how we are losing those values precisely for the reasons seen here; Cowards who are too stupid and too lazy to actually study the issues. Who are scared shitless of the leftist fascists and Islamists who will either call them “racists” “Islamophobes” or kill them.
These are moral cowards who are quick to get on their knees to surrender this country to our domestic and foreign enemies. This act of appeasement is exactly the same that paved the way for the Nazis and their Muslim ideological soul mates to murder six million Jews.
“Muslim ideological soul mates” you may ask.
This is a historical fact. Along with tons of other historical facts that traitors like you are ignoring in your rush to bend over when these fascists threaten you and people like Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch.
And it’s a tragedy because I can tell you exactly what you can expect from these ProPublica fascists: Name calling. That’s it. They can’t “refute, dispute or debunk a single thing that Robert Spencer says or come up with a single example of his ever saying or writing anything “racist” or “hateful”. Just like the only response to a letter I wrote on the ProPublica Fakebook page was:
From ShindaHakika: “Lol…”
From Marca Leigh: “BS”
From Rick Haberman: “So many words. So little to say.”
From ProPublica: Embarrassing silence.
I’ve been challenging these useful idiots for the past six or seven years to actually READ the articles of those they criticize and again; refute, dispute or debunk a single word they say.
People like Soeren Kern, Raymond Ibrahim, Andrew Harrod, Efraim Karsh, Bassam Tawil, Denis MacEoin, Khaled Abu Toameh,, Giulio Meotti, Guy Milliere, Andrew G. Bostom, Humberto Fontova, Frank Gaffney, Martin Kramer, Bruce Bawer, Alan Dershowitz, David Horowitz, Daniel Greenfield, Douglas Murray, Robert Spencer, Hugh Fitzgerald, Ibn Warraq, Ralph Sidway, Matthew Vadum, Patrick Poole, John Perazzo, Pamela Geller, Ingrid Carlqvist, Dr. Wafa Sultan, Michelle Malkin, Ruthie Blum, Caroline Glick, Phyllis Chesler, Cinnamon Stillwell, Judith Bergman, Danusha V. Goska, Bat Ye’or, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Star Parker and others.
For seven years the response has been either name calling or embarrassing silence or adolescent comebacks like those above.
My opinions are right in line with Robert Spencers. Feel free to terminate any account I have with you. Looking forward to a cowardly letter.

We should implement organizations SPLC-style to inventory businesses, firms, organizations and movements that collaborate with or enable jihad terror and aid Islamic supremacists. Time to name and shame people, as well. Jihad Watch, Breitbart…good sites, but news sites. We need to take this a step further and fight ideology with ideology. Like Facebook rushing over to Pak[Crap]istan ensuring them any criticism or anything untoward, or even controversial relating to Islam will be removed or prevented from being posted. So, Facebook is going to beat up on us here in the West and prevent us from engaging in robust debate about a global threat which is supremely retrograde, and at the same time will go over there and aid them in promulgating the spread of Deobandi, Wahabbist, and Salafist Islam — all for profit? That makes them a nothing more than a crime syndicate as far as I’m concerned.

gfmucci responds to my note calling upon PayPal to reinstate the JihadWatch account:
“A lot of people are not inclined to do very much.”
I’d be happy to support a campaign to have the JihadWatch PayPal account reinstated.
Such a campaign would also demonstrate that the advisers or complainants PayPal relied on to justify terminating the JihadWatch account need to be questioned.
That’s a better approach in my view.
Victoria says
Your attitude is not helpful; you imply that sending a letter of complaint is not sufficiently engaged. I imagine –I may be wrong — that you do not rely on PayPal in your financial dealings, but many of us do, including Robert Spencer. Simply cutting ties to every leftist company won’t solve the problem; it may simply leave conservative consumers isolated. Ideally, PayPal will reverse its decision thanks to the blowback from JihadWatch readers.
PRODOS says
Victoria replied to gfmucci (who challenged my proposal that, instead of boycotting PayPal, it would be better to stay with PayPal and explain to them why suspending the JihadWatch account is very wrong):
“… you imply that sending a letter of complaint (to PayPal) is not sufficiently engaged.”
Good point.
Indeed, there are several cases where Conservatives have had (for instance) their YouTube account suspended and had it reinstated by opening a dialogue with YouTube.
I disagree with applying a boycott at such an early stage of the problem.

An open letter to PayPal Holdings Inc.
Dear Ronita in Risk Management,
It has been recently made known to me that you have discontinued financial services to one of your customers, his name is Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch.org. The reason given was, to use your words, because of the “nature of your activities.” And I would beg to know what that might mean. You are talking about a man who is a world renowned scholar and author, and is widely respected as a humanitarian working on behalf of women’s rights and other victims of crime. I find it astounding that anyone could with a straight face disparage such a man with the accusation of bad “activities.” Perhaps this has been done in error, or maybe the final arbiter in this matter is ill informed. Whatever the reason, I would encourage you to reconsider this decision. It’s unjust, unbusiness like, and can only tarnish your reputation as a fair dealing company. Blatant discrimination is rarely rewarded with favorable reviews.
Mr. Spencer conducts his work in the light of day for all to see. He has never expressed hateful views or encouraged crime of any kind. He is widely respected as a man of integrity and honesty working for a good cause. It’s difficult to conceive how any fair and decent thinking company could see such a man to be a risk or offense. It really behooves a company possessing any amount of decency (not to mention good business sense) to treat all people equitably and with the respect they deserve as citizens and as people, with that I’m sure you would agree.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you make the right decision.
Sincerely,
M. Pearson, Mpls, MN

I just cancelled my account and I posted the following on their community board:
” I am cancelling my Paypal account because Paypal has caved in to Leftist intolerance ans IS ACTIVELY SUPPRESSING FREE SPEECH. I urge you to do the same.
Paypal today cancelled all business connections to Jihadwatch.org, one of the most respected and ACCURATE blogs on the danger of Islamic Jihad.
Whether you agree with the website or not is irrelevant. The ability to silence any criticism of Islam is madness, and is the hallmark of facsism.
Silencing all dissenting voices is THE hallmark of fascism.
Today, any examination of Islamic texts or Islamic doctrine is FORBIDDEN. The only accepted viewpoint is that “Islam is a religion of Peace”. Anybody who points out the obvious link between terrorism and the examples of Muhamad the prophet is deemed a “racist”. The truth does not matter anymore. Only the party line is allowed.
This is a disastrous situation of horrific consequences.

I also received a reply from a Paypal user, who is cancelling HIS account, and for the same reason. Here’s his reply to my post.
” I am also cancelling my account with PayPal because they have succumbed to biased charges made by the Leftists, and, without doing any honest research, they have cancelled doing business with jihadwatch.org.
This site is led by an individual who is a scholar with many years of study of the Quran, the Hadiths and the schools of jurisprudence who speaks with integrity and candor about the intrinsic hatred spewed every Friday at every mosque around the world…ordering to kill any non-believers, Jews, Christians, Hindus, apostate Muslims, atheists… Who hold women to be second class citizens, command female genital mutilation to be performed on them, and by their sharia laws, they control every aspect of people’s lives. Jihadwatch.org is a watchman standing on the wall, calling out to us and helping us see what is the TRUTH we need to learn before it’s too late. When we accept that someone, somewhere in our country decides that we can no longer hold an honest debate with respect and civility, then they are trying to shut down free speech. Sorry PayPal, you are the loser!
JIMA says
I have closed my paypal account. What they are doing is wrong and to see the tide of mob mentality that has overtaken the droves of people is terrifying lately. I fear we are seeing the rise of a new authoritarian ideology that is blinded by the brightness of their own self-aggrandizing glory. Hubris, it is all hubris and I fear what is to come next… I am afraid because we have no where left to run in the world, and I am afraid because people are painting us as evil and the more we try to defend ourselves, the further we are cast as the villains in the new globalist/consumerist narrative. God bless you Robert Spencer, I wish I could afford to support you further, but I can stand with you in solidarity and keep speaking the truth, as inconvenient as it may be to the teleological fallacy of the new liberal order of duplicity and obfuscation. We have no where left to run. We must stand now. If this site is ever taken down I would only ask that people remember, there are real reasons to be angry, but do not give in to hatred. You will only become the monsters that we hope to defeat. There is no logic in fighting for freedom to become slaves to hatred. Pride cuts both ways. He who lives by the sword will die by it, those are the true words of peace. Forgive them, they know not what they do.

Ironic that Lauren Kirchner is working for an organization that is funded by self-confessed Nazi collaborator (and traitor) George Soros, on behalf of Islamic supremacists who want to silence anyone who disagrees with Islam, jihad, or sharia. Lauren Kirchner literally works for a Nazi collaborator, and imagines that she is working to oppose “hate.” Contrary to whatever she may imagine or justify to herself, Kirchner has joined the side opposed to equality, freedom, and human rights. By acting for the Islamic supremacists, Kirchner is enabling the ongoing rape, enslavement, torture, mutilation, and slaughter of innocent people in the West and indeed all over the world.
As I recall, Pamela Geller also had issues with Paypal many years ago.
Unfortunate to see this happening. It seems almost the entire establishment throughout the West–radical leftist academics, leftish media and NGOs, politically correct politicians and CEOs–is working hand-in-hand with the Islamic supremacists. Now we need to focus on practical solutions. Boycott Paypal, use another platform.
With the largest search engine (Google, which also owns Youtube and Blogger) and the largest social media platform (Facebook) deliberately limiting the reach of Jihadwatch, it seems clear we must move to other platforms that have some kind of guarantee that we are not going to be subjected to politically- or Islamically-motivated suppression. As others have said here before regarding the actions of Google et al., some tech-savvy people could make a lot of money by starting alternative platforms that are explicitly pro-freedom of expression, while making a major contribution to defending civilization from its totalitarian enemies. But dropping Google for example is a tough call at this point, because so much traffic to the website comes through them. I think those of us who still depend on Google need a gradual transition, whereby we get established on new platforms, then drop Google entirely once we’ve transferred enough of our audience over to the new platforms.
Westman says
The platform least subject to political control is Linux. There are some decent GUIs to make it easier to use, but I’m not going there unless Gates jumps on the political control bandwagon. IT companies are too large and try to throw their weight around. In years past we used to apply laws to them that prevented the huge monopolies and cartels for getting so big. I just closed my PayPal account.
I tried to send them a message when they cut off the vdare.com site from PayPal services, telling them I would cut back on using their services. They do not have an easy way to contact them. They made me choose a non-relevant topic to even have the opportunity to leave a request, and then they pretended there was no human monitoring it. I know it was a lie because such automated response services always send you a follow-up email and ask if you were satisfied. PayPal never did, so they are purposely avoiding any discussion.
But, JihadWatch was the last straw, so instead of cutting back, I simply closed the account altogether. Also, they didn’t ask why I was closing the account, which is another clue they are avoiding any discussion. How many internet services can you think of that don’t ask you to comment on why you are closing your account?
I oppose using the government to force them to deliver their services to JihadWatch and Vdare. PayPal is not a monopoly; it is an oligopoly, and alternatives do exist. If you think things are bad with PayPal throwing its weight around, wait until the government brings all such services completely under its control.
I think PayPal is looking at more than customer transactions. What would make it profitable for PayPal to restrict services for political reasons? Here is some dialog from the Godfather:

Dear Paypal,
Since you have bowed to pressure exerted by the wonderful people who brought us 9/11 and every terrorist attack since then, including the horrific attacks in Barcelona, I wish to eliminate any need I have for PayPal as soon as possible.
I have moved my Paypal balance to my bank account and will cease selling through eBay. I hope eBay finds another way to process payments because I refuse to use PayPal anymore.
Sincerely.

Seemingly scary times we are living in, with things getting worse almost daily, but we need perspective, from John 15:
If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.…
He has indeed chosen us, whether we acknowledge it or not – and He died to give us a chance to be with Him one day. He is our General, and we are his soldiers here on earth. A Holy Father once said that a good General does not let his soldiers lay about, lounging and resting in the fields. Instead, He tests them constantly with hardships and struggles, to ensure they are ready for the coming war.
So let’s embrace this struggle, as it is preparing us for war.
And let’s remember two things:
One: These enemies have no true grace or real power on their side. They have fleeting worldly power, dark and demonic but ultimately harmless and useless over the long term. Over two thousand years of feeble attempts to wipe us out, but we’re still here. And the new battlefront, the West, is much stronger and more united under Him than the Holy Lands and Europe were during Christianity’s early years.
Two: Christ wins. By all means fight back, but do so with grace, in the knowledge that they can do their worst but they cannot win. Literally hundreds of Saints were murdered and martyred over the years by pagans, atheists and muslims, but only had the unintended result of miracles surrounding the martyrs, and the subsequent conversion of witnesses and the spread of Christianity. Even muslim witnesses converted on the spot, having never witnessed true grace or miracles before, and they were usually martyred soon afterwards as well.
So yes, I will quit PayPal, and remind them that their actions are at best ignorant or at worst complicit.
But all of us need to truly get ready for the coming war. And smile at them, in the face of their threats, or at the points of their swords or the ends of their guns, because they’re not going to win. God bless you all.

One comment blames PayPal on the ‘going to Mars’ raver Emon Lusk. In my country, the founder of PayPal is stated by the media to have been one ‘billionaire Peter Thiel’. This operative has been granted New Zealand citizenship, and then exposed as having spent only half a dozen days in the country, and having no intention of more. Not that we particularly want him here … but he has been allowed to buy a considerable amount of valuable land as foreigners would not have been.
This has little to do with PayPal’s victimising JihadWatch, but may be of tangential interest.

They have no clue what you actually do here. It’s disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach to see how they bow to the pressure immediately.

It’s very scary in many ways.

subj: BOYCOTT PAYPAL – closed my account in response to your dropping JihadWatch
Dear PayPal,
I just closed my account with you in response to your dropping JihadWatch which the SPLC and ProPublica mistakenly call a hate group.
… Jihad Watch is a non-violent educational site which informs about the text sources, ideas and beliefs behind Jihadi terror. Robert Spencer’s articles (as separate from the open forum) does not promote hatred or violence against Muslims but exposes and informs about Islamic supremacism – a legitimate, important, historic and current subject. The Jihad Watch focus is that violent terrorist religious supremacism is a bad idea.
The SPLC has its head in the sand to author such a biased page , see https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/individual/robert-spencer
I know the SPLC has done good work in volunteer investigations of murders of Jews and blacks which were covered up by the authorities. (e.g. http://www.dabelly.com/columns/bohemian88.htm) However to conflate Jihad Watch with the hate group Daily Stormer is beyond nonsense. JihadWatch is not the Daily Stormer and Robert Spencer is not Richard Spenser.
Trillions of petrodollars, terror bullying and islamophobia and blasphemy law-making would outlaw free speech and murder Jihad Watch.
PS HIstory tells us to fear both nativist “right” fascism as well as anarchist “left” fascism. And to watch out, expose and defend against terror supremacist ideas.

OK Thiel and PAYPAL – millions of us can play this game – I’m pulling out of PAYPAL for good.
I encourage all supporters of free speech and freedom in general to do the same.
And – Thiel – just make sure you don’t come anywhere near me in New Zealand – you do not fit in here – we are a principled nation and detest fascism in all its vile forms. You will get a very hot reception and a very thorough cold shouldering.

While I’m broadly sympathetic to this website’s cause, I can’t help but feel we’re putting the cart before the horse.
Islam doesn’t need discrediting: it does that well enough itself. What we need to do is to focus on denying the regressive left their credibility.
In other words, Robert, I feel that it would be more beneficial to dedicate a site to exposing prominent figures and organisations within the regressive left.
It is not Islam we should be targeting, but the enablers of Islam.

I have closed my PayPal account because of its lack of moral probity in capitulating to anti-Western and anti-American forces, specifically, the ProPublica and Southern Poverty Law Center’s slanderous call to boycott Jihad Watch, a legitimate, moderate, honest and veridical organisation with objectives wholly concomitant with Western and international civilisational values. I find PayPal’s attitude morally repugnant, and hope that at some point its values will revert to normal.

Hi Robert!
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this. I live in Sweden and I just wish there were people like you and Pamela Geller in my country. Here the destroy you if you so much as try to speak anything negative about Islam or immigration from the majority Muslim countries.
I have cancelled my PayPal account today. Tried to write them an email to explain why, but service@paypal.com is unmonitored. I will tell everyone I know to do the same thing.
Facts about Islam and the atrocities committed by its follower can never be racist (not a race) or hateful. Why is this site any different from newspapers or TV reporting the same events, except of course that they often don’t.
Take care all of you!
FYI says
Isn’t it obvious?
The likes of Google and the liberal leftie social media are clamping down on freedom of expression.
You might be interested in this Robert :last month a number of conservative Catholic websites in English,Spanish and Portuguese,were.. suddenly removed by Facebook.
The official reason given was ” the incident was accidently caused by a spam detection mechanism on the platform”.
They have since been restored after widespread protest. But let’s see who they “accidently” target next..
The media masters have great fun with that “hate speech” trick, using it as a means to silence opinions and websites: especially ones like yours which is the most excellent, superb and first-class analysis of the nature of islamic supremacy and the dangers of jihadism that there is.The fact that you are banned from the UK by the likes of the disgracefully incompetent Teresa May says it all:you must be telling the Truth for that to happen!
No wonder they want to silence you and JW.
I’m sure CAIR would love that:if you silence people for telling them the truth about islamic koranic derived anti-Semitism and the real nature of islamic jihadist supremacy then the blind political and media Dhimmiwit fools in the west..{that’s us ,what they call the Dar al-Harb}….will be so much easier to deceive. Thus it will make it easier to sneak in sharia law like they have done in Britainistan.
Meanwhile the body count of innocent civilians murdered by jihadists {..who even admit they are following the example of their prophet muhammed{“I am made victorious through terror”}and the koranic instructions of allah..} will continue to rise.
Jihadists and isis do not deny that what they do comes straight from the koran and by following the sunnah (or example) of muhammed. So Mr Spencer and JW are doing nothing wrong by analysing the motivation and religious ideology behind all that.
Politicians think if they appease islamic supremacists that we’ll all just get along fine.
On the contrary:like the Nazis they will use violence and deceit to come to rule.
In fact they don’t even deny that anymore that they want a global caliphate.
[What they don’t understand is that God’s Stone..Israel..is in the way and He won’t allow that to be removed …}
Isn’t it amazing that the media make no comment or protest about the daily vitriolic anti-Semitic statements made by islamic supremacists?
Will ProPublica and Lauren Kirchner be campaigning against the anti-Semitism in the islamic world?
And “ProPublica is Soros funded”:{sarc on} Oh gee what a surprise: that fellow seems to be everywhere these days…so many fingers in other peoples’ pies..
You do a great service Mr Robert Spencer standing up for freedom and truth.
Like a True Prophet.

I know whereof I speak: That is a form email that Ronita sent. It’s worded by the company so as to discourage the PayPal user from doing anything about it. What they really want is for you to quietly give up and go away. Don’t do that! There is an internal appeal process. Exhaust that process, then if you are not reinstated, do sue. You have now had Jihad Watch condemned and exiled by only one (1) PayPal employee’s review; it is highly likely that ‘review’ was completed in under an hour ( and with possible personal biases of that one employee weighing in). Again, I know whereof I speak.
I only wish I had a PayPal account to cancel in protest over this, but alas, I already cancelled it in protest over other PayPal abusive behavior!
I second another post on this forum to alert Breitbart of this abuse on the part of PayPal. They have been successful in the past getting users who were banned on Facebook or Twitter reinstated. Breitbart’s mantra is culture is upstream of politics. This kind of thing is Breitbart’s bread and butter.
MaryC says
Almost forgot: Breitbart had an article earlier this month about eBay, with the help of PayPal, facilitating the funneling of terrorists funds by ISIS to the US! This was uncovered by our FBI. There are federal laws against money processors funneling funds for terrorists! If you carefully read PayPal’s user agreement, it states, in so many words, it won’t send money for terrorists. This is a huge, huge, huge slipup by PayPal’s and eBay’s internal review departments designed to catch this kind of thing. I await announcement of further developments. Here is the Breitbart article about it: http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2017/08/11/fbi-isis-used-ebay-to-send-terror-cash-to-united-states/

My email to Pierre Omidyar, founder (now board member) of ebay:
“Pierre@ebay.com”
Dear sir,
When the America hating Southern Poverty Law Center points its hateful finger at you, ebay, or someone you know to be a good American, will you sit back…?
That is how identity politics work with those that disguise hate for political correctness. You, through an action taken by paypal, thus ebay, are now a book burning, silencer of truth.
For paypal, specifically, “Ronita” (last name not given) of the paypal “risk management department”, to order Robert Spencer to cease/close his paypal account because of the SPLC’s false assertion that he and his jihadwatch.org are racist, is false, wrong, and screams for a 30 billion dollar law suit.
You need to peruse jihadwatch.org, then peruse the SPLC websites and publications, and make up your own mind. One shares truth that informs Americans of a barbaric enemy, the other agitates, using political correctness to undermine and destroy people and groups they hate.
The political correctness banning by paypal (ebay) will result in backlash. For instance, this letter will circulate, eventually, along with thousands more, to millions of Americans who are fed up with the lies of the SPLC, and the hate motivated cowardice of those in their organization that seek to destroy those they hate.
Please use your influence to expose the real evil here, and to change the culture of hatred of Christians in your organization.
Sincerely,
E. Inman
