CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR officials have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements about how Islamic law should be imposed in the U.S. (Ahmad denies this, but the original reporter stands by her story.) A California chapter distributed a poster telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI, and a Florida chapter distributed pamphlets with the same message. CAIR has opposed virtually every anti-terror measure that has been proposed or implemented and has been declared a terror organization by the United Arab Emirates. A CAIR operative recently called for the overthrow of the U.S. government.
Friends like those are enough to show that McMaster must be fired.
“CAIR Defends H.R. McMaster, Claims ‘Islamophobes, White Supremacists’ Behind Effort to Remove Him,” by Adelle Nazarian, Breitbart, August 10, 2017:
The Council on American Islamic Relations is backing President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, Lieutenant General Herbert Raymond “H.R.” McMaster, claiming over social media that “Islamophobes” and “white supremacists” were behind attacks to remove him from the White House.
In a tweet sent this week, CAIR wrote, “Islamophobia Watch: Islamophobes, white supremacists launch campaign to oust H.R. McMaster after he fired…” and linked to a Newsweek article titled, “Why Is the Alt-Right Attacking H.R. McMaster?”
CAIR was an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial and Hamas financing case that resulted in the FBI discontinuing its working relationship with the organization. In 2009, a federal judge concluded that the government had found “ample evidence” to link CAIR with Hamas. Additionally, Breitbart News has previously reported that several of CAIR’s board members, employees, and former employees “have been jailed or repatriated for various financial and terror-related offenses.”
Breitbart has also noted that CAIR presented itself as a “civil rights voice for American Muslims” and “was founded by members of the Palestine Committee (PALCOM), an organization ‘established to support Hamas.’” In addition to that, “Nihad Awad, currently CAIR’s executive director, was previously an official at PALCOM.” Awad has a long history of pro-HAMAS statements, according to critics. CAIR has posted its defense online.
In their article, which was tweeted out by CAIR, Newsweek reported that “The alt-right’s beef with McMaster stems from his firing of Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the NSC’s senior director for intelligence programs; Rich Higgins, the NSC’s director for strategic planning; and Derek Harvey, the NSC’s senior director for the Middle East.”
Higgins was fired on July 21 after he wrote a memo in May complaining that globalists and Islamists were obstructing Trump’s plans. Part of the memo, acquired by the Atlantic, argued that a “Maoist insurgency” had led “Islamists [to] ally with cultural Marxists” in order to undermine America.
The Atlantic noted that Higgins had also “pushed for declassification of documents having to do with radical Islam and Iran.”
Meanwhile, the Conservative Review presented the argument against McMaster, going so far as calling him a “land mine” in what they perceive as President Trump’s “self-immolation” and danger of becoming “a lame-duck president.” It stated:
Trump often complains about all the obstacles inhibiting his success — from the media and Democrats to establishment Republicans and “deep state” administrative officials shooting at him relentlessly.
But that is no excuse to self-immolate and step on a grenade, or worse, bring the shooters into his own home base to mow down the president’s most loyal supporters. McMaster is that land mine. It’s time to get rid of that obstacle or risk becoming a lame-duck president.
On Monday, the Center for Security Policy called for the firing of McMaster for “disloyal and subversive behavior,” and the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) announced it was reviewing McMaster’s positions, actions, and statements on Israel.
Last week, Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick expressed concern about McMaster’s approach towards Israel…

McMaster is part of a contingent of military officers led by David Petraeus who, much like the British officers of old, have become fanatical Arabists. In fact, they have modeled their careers and war strategies on the prior experience of British Arabists. This turn towards Islamic sycophantic obsequiousness was forged in the blood-soaked sands of Iraq. After years of failure in quelling the Islamic insurgency, Petraeus, with McMaster in tow, was brought on to change the course of the war. His new approach which became almost a religious mantra was COIN. COIN was modeled after the British experience in Arabia and Islamic countries like Malay. In effect it was to accept and adapt Islamic cultural norms as a means of Military victory. A draft field manual on COIN written by U.S Army officer John Nagl, whose book on the British experience in Malaya,” Learning to Eat Soup with a Knife “had become a COIN cult classic. Having accepted Islamic cultural norms in order to achieve Military goals, this then became the basis of all future military and political decisions undertaken by Petraeus and his acolyte McMaster. Not only did they treat subservience to Islamic ideology as a means to an end, but they actively tried to change the culture of the U.S army to reflect their way of thinking, according to an article in the CATO institute “He and his fellow COIN true-believers would wage their own insurgency, of sorts, a low-level information operation aided by friendly journalists whom he cultivated with great care”. So this is where McMaster comes from. This is why he is hostile to Israel, why he seems to genuflect himself to Islamic Ideology. Why he refuses to acknowledge that Islam has any connection to terrorism, why he tries to force Trump to stop saying radical Islamic terrorism, and why he is opposed to everything Trump stands for. He has adopted Islamic grievances as his own because he believes that this approach is the key to military victory. In his mind he feels himself to be the ideological successor of Sir John Bagot Glubb. The British Arabist who trained and led the Arab legion in their war against Israel in 1948.

Thank you for your fact-filled exposition of McMasters current orientation.
I have read McMasters book, “Dereliction of Duty” carefully. It is still amazing, and somewhat unbelievable to me, that the brilliant, empirical and unconventional author would devolve into an ideologue for whom winning influence takes precedence over an even-handed analysis.
I guess, pursuing this line, one would ask how the Glubb doctrines benefited the Jordanian army. The answer is, not very well when going against Israel or even against other Arab countries. But, the Jordanian Army did quite well when turned loose on the Palestinian rebels who were trying to overthrow the king.
So, if the doctrine didn’t work, why in the world is McMaster emulating it? McMaster is so different from the McMaster who authored “Dereliction of Duty” that one wonders if he had a brain transplant, or at least a career makeover.
mortimer says
RonaldB asked: ‘How the Glubb doctrines benefited the Jordanian army?’ In spite of their defeat by Israel, Jordan’s army was the best in the Arab world…not saying much for them.

It’s amazing that CAIR, in an environment of leftist frenzy over alleged Russian interferrence, keeps jumping into the middle of US politics. That may not have the expected results as more Americans start asking who is CAIR and why is an organization with international connections to radical Islam trying to influence government?
CAIR cannot spin this recent interference as being more relative to American Muslims than foreign Islamic interests, so the question of who and what CAIR represents will be raised in more American minds. Let’s hope CAIR keeps jumping into the limelight at every inapproriate opportunity until it has a reputation on par with Pravda and RT.

President D. Trump needs to be able to detect and listen to his trusted advisors and eliminate stuff like Lt Gen McMasters an Obama “puppet” placed in the Military for exactly what he is doing right now. Trump has advisors that know the identity of these disloyal Military leaders and he should listen to them and not worry about ruining someone’s career and think of his own success story. Obama filled the Deep-State with Muslims, some openly and others on the sly to hamper success of a Right thinking POTUS. Firing McMasters is much easier than placing him before a firing squad (which is what should happen.)

I take a somewhat different point of view.
I do not believe McMaster should be fired because CAIR supports him, or even for his specific positions on issues, even if they do not agree with mine.
But, I do have a beef with McMaster. He wrote the breathtaking “Dereliction of Duty”, which details how the tragedy of Vietnam was caused by abominable communication, fuzzy thinking by military and political leaders, the purposeful ignoring of logic and studies, suppression of opposing viewpoints, and most of all, the chronic lying, manipulation and treachery by President Johnson and his Secretary of Defense McNamara. McMaster stated in his book that the military chiefs of staff had a duty to resign if they felt the President was leading the nation into disaster.
https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10802/trump-foreign-policy
Fast forward to the present. McMaster not only opposes the American Firsters and the anti-Jihadists. He denies them security clearances and systematically eliminates them from the councils of the President. In other words, he eliminates and silences voices opposed to him instead of engaging and debating them. So, the McMaster of the security council, a game-playing politician scrambling to make his point of view prevail by any means necessary, is the mirror image of the McMaster of “Dereliction of Duty”, which chronicles how miscommunication, fuzzy thinking, and career-conscious military leaders led the the Vietnam tragedy which cost 58,000 American lives and a million or more Vietnamese lives.
The Rich Higgins memo which supposedly triggered McMaster to fire him, did not simply complain that Trumps plans were being frustrated, but was an erudite presentation of the danger of systematic Islamic penetration of the West and the common cause between the cultural-Marxist left and the Islamists in dissolving US culture. Higgins was extremely bright, and could stand up for himself in an open debate, which may be one reason why McMaster eliminated him. McMaster spent his brilliance on his book, which was in fact brilliant, and now want an easy ride.
Westman says
It’s a dichotomy that McMaster is the wrong man to oppose Islam’s jihad and the right man to oppose North Korea.
What was that line of John Lennon’s? – “Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.” The future may “leak” its intent, yet rarely reveals its timing.
We are concerned of McMaster’s wrong-headedness about Islam, when, perhaps a military conflict with NK will, more or less, use up McMaster as the past conflicts have used up other Generals.
mortimer says
Does McMaster understand ANY of the Islamic core doctrines?

This memo is absolutely right on target with the danger of Marxist allied with Islamists in dissolving US culture. I witness this alliance of solidarity back fifty years ago from within the Radical New Left along with their intended revolution against the USA with the support of the Radical Islamists attending conferences and meetings. Nothing new for Higgins to be fired over! Unless creating another top possession to be filled with another insurgent hostile to President Trump?

Islamophobes
Have you been branded an Islamophobe – a slur word invented by Muslims against non-Muslims?
Then join the ranks of the world’s greatest political leaders, military leaders, writers, philosophers, historians, researchers and intellectuals; the movers and shakers of history.
Here are just a very few of them and their opinions:
An extremely large percentage of Muslims in South Asia today are the progeny of forcible conversions and systematic rape campaigns by marauding Muslim invaders.
– Dr. Younis Shaikh
Pakistani medical doctor, human rights activist and freethinker.
Some, indeed, dream of an Islam in the future, rationalised and regenerate. All this has been tried already, and has miserably failed. The Koran has so encrusted the religion in a hard unyielding casement of ordinances and social laws, that if the shell be broken the life is gone. A rationalistic Islam would be Islam no longer.
– Sir William Muir
Scottish Orientalist, scholar of Islam, and colonial administrator (27 April 1819 – 11 July 1905).
The brotherhood of Islam is not the universal brotherhood of man. It is brotherhood of Muslims for Muslims only. There is a fraternity but its benefit is confined to those within that corporation. For those who are outside the corporation, there is nothing but contempt, slavery and enmity.
– Dr.B.R. Ambedkar
Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956).
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities – but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.
– Sir Winston Churchill
British Conservative politician and statesman of the United Kingdom (30 November 1874 – 24 January 1965).
Religious harmony is a desirable thing. But it takes two to play the game. Unfortunately such a sentiment holds no position in Islamic theology.
– Ram Swarup
Independent Hindu thinker and prolific author (1920 – 26 December 1998).
Over a billion people believe in Allah without truly knowing what Allah supposedly stands for or what he really demands of them. And the minority that do understand continue to be Moslems because they have redefined their morality and ethics to fit within the teachings of Islam, which are floridly lacking in morality. They therefore redefine what is good and evil in order to fit their lives into what is preached by Islam, instead of examining Islam to see if it fits within the good life. Backwards thinking, imposed by a backward religion.
– Professor Bertrand Russell
British philosopher, logician, mathematician, historian, and social critic (18 May 1872 – 2 February 1970).
The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex of order and freedom, culture and peace, can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within.
– Will Durant
American writer, historian, and philosopher (November 5, 1885 – November 7, 1981
There are such “social values” today in Europe, America, and Australia only because during those thousand years the Christians of Europe possessed the warlike power to do what the Christians of Asia and Africa had failed to do – that is, to beat back the Moslem invader.
– Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt
26th President of the United States
