“There will not be any more uprooting of settlements in the Land of Israel. It has been proved that uprooting settlements does not foster peace. We uprooted settlements and what did we get, we received missiles. This will not happen anymore.”
Imagine, a politician who learns from the mistakes of the past. If only we could get one of those in the United States.
“Netanyahu: We will never abandon West Bank settlements to radical Islam,” by Tovah Lazaroff, Jerusalem Post, August 29, 2017:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that Israel would remain in the West Bank forever — including in the Samaria region — and that radical Islam would never create a base on its hilltops.
“Samaria is a strategic asset for the State of Israel. It is the cradle of our people and the key to its future,” said Netanyahu on Monday.
He spoke at a ceremony celebrating 50 years of Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria.
“This is the land we inherited from our forefathers. This is our land. We have returned here to remain for eternity. There will not be any more uprooting of settlements in the Land of Israel,” Netanyahu said. “It has been proved that uprooting settlements does not foster peace,” he added.
Speaking to thousand of participants who sat on plastic chairs in a large open air area in the Barkan Industrial Park, Netanyahu recalled how the demolition of 21 settlements in Gaza and four in northern Samaria in 2005 had only lead to a major increase of violence against Israel from Gaza.
“We uprooted settlements and what did we get, we received missiles,” Netanyahu said. “This will not happen anymore,” he added.
“We have cultivated and protected this place, because it also protect us. … From its cliffs and hilltops it is possible to see from one end of the land to the other, he said.
When speaking with visitors and foreign leaders, Netanyahu said, he asks “imagine that on these peaks that dominate the Dan region there were extremist forces of Islam. It would endanger us – but it would also endanger you, all of our neighbors [and] .. the entire Middle East.”…
“We have gone through a difficult period. It was not a simple one. [Now] there is a momentum for development and construction in Judea and Samaria,” Netanyahu said….

miriamrove has a good point. Hamas interprets every compromise or concession by Israel, not as a deal between negotiators, but a GREAT VICTORY FOR ISLAM.
With all the relief funding going to Palestinians over the years since 1967, every single Palestinian Arab could now be a multimillionaire. Unfortunately, much of the funding has gone into the personal bank accounts of their dictatorial, conspiratorial leaders and to buy weapons and training for terrorists.
These Arabs have a choice of settling in Jordan and building a life or settling in Israel and becoming a citizen there. Continued warfare hasn’t changed their lot, but only made their leaders mega-rich.

You have to understand that he has to deal with the Israeli left. Often these people have short memories. Sometimes they’re innocents, children coming of voting age. They are sick of war, terror, and everyday fear. They think there is a solution, like most people. They want hope. There are members of their parliament, the Knesset who say things like this: “There must be peace because Israel needs peace the way we need air.” It doesn’t follow that peace is in the offing because one needs it. But this, I hope, explains how hope can deal a blow to reality. Netanyahu is threading a needle. No one is playing games there. It’s very real with very little give.

I – a non-Jewish observer, sympathetic to Israel – see what you see. Many Jews in Israel, and some even of the Christians (notably Fr Gabriel Naddaf) have woken up and realized that what is hammering them day and night is Jihad, arising from the founding texts of Islam, which are rotten with Jew-hatred (as they are rotten with hatred for all varieties of Infidel). But many still *haven’t* or are in wilful denial… because it’s such an unpleasant reality to have to face up to.
RichardL says
I have many Jewish friends and only one see islam (and unfortunately Christianity too) as the enemy. The rest talk about patience and desert romanticism. My fear is that Israel will go soft while the islamic hatred will be there always.
Raze the al-aqsa. Let Christians do it. I would volunteer.

Pick your Poison. Maybe 40 years ago the schism between Christianity and Judaism was seen by both Christians and Jews as somehow justified based on historical religious and sociopolitical differences, but in contemporary society, the two must join forces to unite against the greatest political and religious threat in the world—-Islam and Sharia Law. Christians and Jews must unite to thwart this staggering and profound threat to liberty. By Christians and Jews uniting, there is a possibility for a reconquista. Without Christians and Jews uniting, Islam and Sharia Law will prevail.
Pick your poison. I say Christians and Jews must overcome historical schisms, revenge, and hatred in order to fight a foe that wants to destroy both Christians and Jews.
Pick your poison.

I am so pleased to read that. I hope PM Netanyahu keeps to his promise to remain in the West Bank. He should not relinquish any more Israeli land to the moslem savages.

Now start throwing the Muslims right out.

Write to Netanyahu and tell him that. And don’t say ‘West Bank’. NO supporter of Israel, whether Jewish or Gentile, should ever use that johnny-come-lately propaganda term. Instead, say, “Judea and Samaria’. Or “the mountains of Israel”.
balam says
West Bank is not a country ,the Palestinian Arabs are claiming .Historically ,It is Judea and Samaria . The Jews were in Medina who welcomed Mohammad who instead of being a good guest threw all the Jews out before killing thousands of them .These Arabs living in Judea and Samaria should be given an option. They should either live peacefully as Citizens of Israel or go to Gaza Strip or move to neighbouring Muslim countries. Sadly ,it is so hard to live beside or with Muslims. One can acquire as much knowledge as one has capacity for but the WISDOM ONLY COMES FROM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM,ISAAC and JACOB .Thank God ,Israel has been blessed with a WISE LEADER.
dumbledoresarmy says
Yep. Judea and Samaria.
I *refuse* to use the term “West Bank”. As a deeply-historically-aware person, I find it offensive to me.
stan lee says
Time has proved Mr. Netanyahu correct. The Israelis have reached for, even overreached for peace, they have sacrificed lives of peaceful civilians who opted to take their chances for peace and to be good neighbors to Muslims they thought were seeking the same peaceful and productive results.
Years later, many graves of innocents later, lessons learned through living in dangerous circumstances, the result what befell people seeking to live in peace was more strife, persevering, and losing some of their folks to inbred Muslim hatred in the process. It is as if no remedy but death via propagandized hatred was all that came of honest effort to Israelis. They have also persevered with membership of the State of Israel in the “United Nations,” heavily weighted with Islamic nations and interests versus the one, lone, Jewish nation. All that has come of that was bargaining away territory for peace and never receiving peace.
For P.M. Netanyahu to state the program in celebration of 50 years of settlements in the ancient Jewish lands of Judea and Samaria, is to be finally concluded in the fact that the lies of the Islamic interests can no longer be tolerated, that it has kept the people going in a circle which forever could be started and ending in the same place where the process started. There is no end to it, the U.N. has no authenticity in the matter and never did, its sole mission concerning Israel and Islam was to “dump” the issue on the inhabitants of Israel and the territories. As an agent of peace, the U.N. has been a failure, and it has submitted to hypocrisy, which by its history, will also be a never-ending circle of failure.
For Israel, it is time and Netanyahu is the right leader. Unfortunately for Muslim Arabs, they have no “right leader,” all they have is that they have allowed to misdirect themselves. The PA has a leader whose term of office was finished over ten years ago, yet he holds office and dictates. The Muslims who once elected him are apparently powerless for anything other than jihad, which has proved to be a detriment to decent democratic government. Whether these people are even governable is yet to be answered, they have been seeking to destroy Israel and its people since pre-1948.
Guy Forester says
I think he is telling everyone that the two state solution is finished. Of course, the PA has always indicated that they intended to destroy Israel, so the two state solution was a mirage anyway. Anyone in DC listening?

I’d think if Christians can have Europe and Muslims Arabia (and elsewhere), the world’s most productive people who’ve been persecuted like nobody else should be allowed their holiest place in a state the size of New Jersey… As far as I’m concerned, if someone denies them that they are simply an anti-Semite.
Walter Sieruk says
All this may be further explains in some, but not much, detail on two different ways. The first way is as follows
Even of idea of some people of dividing Jerusalem as well as other parts of the State of Israel between the Jewish people of the Muslim/ Arabs is nothing but folly. To engage the madness of such “talks” is a hoax and a farce .This is because in the so called “negotiations” between the heads of the Jewish nation of Israel and the leaders of the “Palestinians” the Muslim /Arabs the “Palestinian” leaders will speak the truth only when in happens to fit their agenda. The rest of the time the will be speaking half-truths and outright lies. For their goal is to obtain all of the land of the State of Israel ,.Even in it takes much time and it means getting the land piece by piece. So those “peace talks” are a hoax. For the “Palestinian”leaders are employing what is the Islamic doctrine of Taqiyya . Which is the Islamic dogma that lying and deception are good things to do as long as it’s done for the cause of the advancement of Islam. The insidious scheme is part of the stealth jihad .Otherwise known as “Islamic Gradualism.” This sly and something subtle strategy of disingenuous speech, lying deception of achieving the goal of all the land of Israel a war ploy that will be a disaster if the heads of the State of Israel are foolish enough to agree to divide the land of Israel with Muslim /Arabs ,the “Palestinians.” For if such a “peace dialogue” results in a divided land, the outcome will literally be murder. For “Palestinian” leader will allow the jihadists use that land as a base to launch murderous rocked attacks in to Israel. As for example, Hamas of Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Such false hopes for peace which are based on the foundation of lies are nothing new when it comes to Israel . For example, the Bible in Psalm 55:20, 21. Reads “Such men do violence to those at peace with them and break their promised word; their speech is smoother the butter but their thoughts are of war.” [N.E.B.]
The second way to explain this is the following.
It should be made known that the Muslim terror organizations, Hamas , Hezbollah, P.I.J. etc. are all fated to fail in their Islamic agenda of destroying the State of Israel and replacing with Islamic “state.” The reason that they will lose in the end and lose hard is because the members of those jihad terror entities are striving against the Will of God. The members who compose those Islamic terror groups might be too ignorant to know this, nevertheless the truth is the God had given all this land that now composes the State of Israel, including all of the West Bank, to the Jewish people. This may be found in the Bible, as seen in, for example, Genesis 28:13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Psalm 105:7-11. 135:4. In other words the Jews have tall this land by Divine Right. Furthermore, the Jewish people should have this land by historic rights as shown in First Kings 4:20,21, 24,25. 8:55, 56. Still, in all fairness, there is one way for the Muslim members who make up Hezbollah, Hamas and the P.I.J. to convince God to change His Mind about being so much for Israel and then cause Him to turn His back on Israel and then have that nation be no more. That way is for the members of the jihad origination to gather together and then change the laws of astrophysics, including those laws of astrophysics the control the sun, the moon and the stars. For God had declared in His Word, the Bible, in Jeremiah 31:35,36. “Thus saith the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day and the ordinances of the moon and stars for a light by night…The Lord of host is His name. If those ordinances depart from before Me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever.”
RonaldB says
I think Netanyahu is very sensibly adopting the strategy that you’re better off if you take a risk and come down firmly on one side, rather than drawing out a long, lingering softening of your position to the point where no one really has a dog in the hunt.
He will be condemned by the UN, the EU, the European Court of Human Rights, the UNHCR, and of course, the Democrats. He will be supported by the neocons, who do not really have the best interests of the US in mind, and by the Trump populists, who recognize that each nation, as well as each people, has got to stand for itself.
But, Netanyahu is entirely correct. Giving in to the Muslims/Palestinians is like adopting Communist measures. When things inevitably go south, the explanation is that you weren’t rigorous enough in the Communist measures you adopted. Or, in the case of giving territory to the Palestinians, the explanation is that you have not gone far enough in giving them their own country, and that is why they are an economic basket case and a nest of terrorists and Islamists.
Funny enough, as Israel flexes its muscles and independence, it’s relations with Saudi Arabia strengthens. Saudi Arabia, that most fundamentalist of fundamentalist Islamic states, will go with a military winner when they’re facing a rival Muslim power like Iran. Hopefully, the US will pull out its military and end its foreign aid to Israel so Israel and Saudi Arabia can determine a regional solution to heir problems, free from US involvement. If Israel needs more money to build an adequate military to confront Iran and its allies, why shouldn’t the financing come from Saudi Arabia, rather than the US taxpayer?
Robert_k says
Do you hear that James Baker, George Mitchell, Aaron Miller, Dennis Ross, Daniel Kurtzer, Martin Indyck, Richard Haas, George Herbert Walker Bush, Bill Clinton, Thomas Friedman, Roger Cohen, Anthony Lewis (deceased), Helen Thomas (deceased), Angela Merkel, the EU, the UN, the US Jewish Establishment etc?
dumbledoresarmy says
Judea and Samaria are the mountains of Israel. They also constitute the military high ground without which Israel does not have much hope of surviving long term in its neverending self-defence against the neverending Jihad. Judea and Samaria, and the Golan, and *all* of Jerusalem, MUST be held by Israel, and controlled by Israel.
And if the mohammedan mob doesn’t like that then they can lump it.
If the Muslims in Judea and Samaria – the vast majority of them descended from the people who entered the land of Israel in a massive Muslim hijra during the 1930s during the time of the British Mandate – don’t like living in a Jewish state then they can p*ss off and go live somewhere else in the dar al islam.. they have 57 Islamic states of this-and-that to choose from. Jews have just *one* – tiny – state. Muslims have .. *fifty-seven** of which some are swimming in petrodollars.
I would not cry ‘human rights abuses!’ if the Israelis decided to turf out all the mohammedans from Israel proper, from the violent and jihad-brewing Islamised neighbourhoods of Jerusalem, and from Judea and Samaria, into .. Gaza. In fact, I wish our politicians here in Australia would wake up and 1/ stop importing mohammedans into our midst and 2/ work out some way of evicting the 600 000 (and counting) dangerous and potentially-dangerous mohammedans we have inside *our* gates right now.
And if later on Jihad City-State Gaza at some stage attacked Israel and then got levelled and all its mohammedans got driven out into Islamic Egypt, next door, and Gaza ended up free of Mohammedans and part of Israel under Israeli ownership, I would see that as a pretty good outcome. Because Gaza, too, is a military ‘gateway’ and strongpoint.

Yes and Amen, Judea and Samaria are Israel and doubtless the Prime Minister remembers his little brother who’s life was taken in the raid on Entebbe and I hope the Scripture in Numbers 33:55 as well: But if you don’t drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, those you allow to remain will become thorns in your eyes and in your sides; they will harass you in the land where you will live.

From Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum:
“The danger for the Jewish People is because those who are irreligious and who are heretics are the leaders of the Jewish People. Therefore because of them the nations of the world are misled into hating Jews, so one of the greatest things to do would be to selflessly proclaim to the nations that the Zionists are not the representatives of the Jewish People, and that religious Jews have no connection with them. We should have had self-sacrifice to do this, but because of our many sins, people are frightened of public opinion, and if anyone should say these things about the Zionists, there will be religious leaders who will fight against them with all sorts of excuses.”

Better late than never. I was hoping Israel will learn from the biggest mistake ever which was giving Gaza to muzzienazifascist devil worshipers camel urine drinking terrorists. But no They did not retake Gaza, which is Israel teritory imediately, did not squash terrorists completely and now have to deal with rockets pounding Israel. Bibi is a good man and I love him more than any other PM on the planet, but IMHO he needs to grow balls and give hands free approach to Avigdor to clean Israel from traitors, leftist sissies, and fift column enemies before retaking all the Israeli lands and sending all the muzzienazifascist devil worshipers camel urine drinking terrorists to meca, one way ticket. Give shiiit what UN thinks they are against Israel anyway, so *uck them and the rest of the world, nobody have the right to meddle inside Israel but the Jews (excluding Judenrats and JINOs) I did not have priviledge to be born of Jewish descendants but I love Israel more than anything on the planet and I love G-d’s choosen people for they are the real PEOPLE of the humanity.
