The Pope has said: “We can speak today of an Arab invasion” of Europe. But here he is actively encouraging and abetting this invasion. Does he think the Muslim migrants will include none who wish to destroy the existing society by means of jihad and impose Sharia? Well, he has said that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence,” and so he may indeed think that the Muslim migrants to Europe are just coming in order to enfold the natives in a loving embrace.
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“Pope: Rights of migrants trump national security concerns,” by Nicole Winfield, Associated Press, August 21, 2017 (thanks to Ken):
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis on Monday urged countries to greatly improve their welcome to migrants and stop collective expulsions, saying migrants’ dignity and right to protection trumps national security concerns.
Francis’ politically pointed message was made in view of the Catholic Church’s 2018 world refugee day, celebrated Jan. 14. It comes amid mounting anti-immigrant sentiment in Europe and beyond following waves of migrant arrivals and Islamic extremist attacks.
In the message, Francis demanded governments welcome, protect, promote and integrate migrants, saying Jesus’ message of love is rooted in welcoming the “rejected strangers of every age.”
He demanded a simplified process of granting humanitarian and temporary visas and rejected arbitrary and collective expulsions as “unsuitable.” He said the principle of ensuring each person’s dignity “obliges us to always prioritize personal safety over national security.”…
Ignoring critics who say his calls are unrealistic and naive, Francis insisted in the new message that border guards must be trained to protect migrants and that each new arrival, regardless of legal status, must be guaranteed access to basic services beyond health care.
That extends to guaranteeing access to consulates, the justice system and the ability to open a bank account and survive financially, he said….
His call was immediately rejected by the leader of Italy’s anti-immigrant Northern League party, which has opposed government proposals to change Italy’s law to accelerate citizenship for children born in Italy to non-Italians.
“If you want to do it in the Vatican, go ahead,” Matteo Salvini wrote on Facebook. “But as a Catholic, I don’t think Italy can welcome and support the whole world.”

I once knew a Canadian who spoke of “the Poope in Roome”, or something like that (Uncle Kepha now admits that his northern neighbors have a right to make fun of some of our dialects). True, he was a Presbyterian of a conservative stripe, but I am sure it was just his dialect kicking in.
May I suggest to his “Hooliness the Poope” that he open up the Vatican itself to the needy hordes of Somalils and other Muslims trying to enter Europe. He might even tear down the walls surrounding the Vatican (which, I’m sure, were not built to welcome anyone). Imagine. They might be as respectful of St. Peter’s as they were of the Duomo in Firenze.

Carl Gustav Jung, one of the world’s well known psychiatrists, made these very interesting observations:
All mass movements, as one might expect, slip with the greatest ease down an inclined plane represented by large numbers. Where the many are, there is security; what the many believe must of course be true; what the many want must be worth striving for, and necessary, and therefore good. In the clamor of the many there lies the power to snatch wish-fulfillments by force; sweetest of all, however, is that gentle and painless slipping back into the kingdom of childhood, into the paradise of parental care, into happy-go-luckiness and irresponsibility. All the thinking and looking after are done from the top; to all questions there is an answer; and for all needs the necessary provision is made. The infantile dream state of the mass man is so unrealistic that he never thinks to ask who is paying for this paradise. The balancing of accounts is left to a higher political or social authority, which welcomes the task, for its power is thereby increased; and the more power it has, the weaker and more helpless the individual becomes. (The Undiscovered Self, pages 70-71)
Brian Saunders says
Jim, you are completely wrong. Catholics do NOT have to agree with every word a pope utters. It is only when a pope speaks on matters of faith and morals that Catholic are obliged to give assent. A pope can, like any other person, give give opinions on all kinds of subjects. Catholic can and do disagree with a clear conscience.
D Austin says

The Pope Francis should turn muslim because he is a friend of islam and do not care of the Christian Europe. This Pope is damaging the Universal Church as Obama did to America. Too bad Pope Benedict XVI resigned! Unintentional, he let he devil to do his tricks inside the Catholic Church.
Pope Francis wants to see all Europe Islamized.
Shame on this Pope! And I am Roman Catholic who lives in Europe.

I am Catholic too in the state of Texas in the US. This Pope does not preach the Gospels of Jesus Christ but supports Islam and Socialism and the Global Warming fraud. He should be telling Muslims to leave their evil false religion and come to faith in Jesus Christ. He is the Apostate Pope, I think. The allah god of Islam is not the God of Christians and the God of Abraham. The allah god is the greatest deceivers and it looks like the Pope is working for the Deceiver.

Really good for him, wise words he uttered.
I feel strenghtened by his words. Can you imagine, and I am not even a Catholique !!!
Japetto Donatelli says
You’re right, it’s easy for him to talk noble about what western nations need to do for muslims. But a truly compassionate person considers the needs and concerns of all people, not only muslims. Native Europeans have needs too and have their own aspirations about their future. It can’t always be about muslims. Why isn’t the pope talking about what muslims need to do for the Christians they’re killing, raping, and torturing for religious bigotry? You’d think the man in white would have better things to do than stick up for a people and religion that would crush him into the ground if given the chance.
Kepha says
I’ll agree. While I believe that charity towards Middle Eastern and African refugees might be a great Evangelistic opportunity that Christians should exploit (returning guest workers re-planted Christianity in Kabylia and parts of Anatolia), I couldn’t help but notice homeless European indigenes on the streets of Freiburg, Luzerne, Strasbourg, and elsewhere when I visited Europe this summer.

Catholics understand that the reference “Rome will lose the faith and become the seat of the antichrist” refers to a false papacy and a fraudulently pious Vatican Administration….which we appear to have…

They also accept the fact that at some point in time the Papal Throne will be moved from Rome to Jerusalem. Guess we will see who gets there first, the Pope or the Ottoman Turks.

Catholic Church charities are generally careful when choosing the recipient of their help. They want to choose the really needy people rather than people who just want to take advantage. They should apply the same caution to “refugees” as it is known that many of them are relatively well off in their home countries, others come to live out of government welfare and others come with the intention of doing harm.
Alarmed Pig Farmer says
They should apply the same caution to “refugees” as it is known that many of them are relatively well off in their home countries…
In other words, they should take exactly zero Moslem “refugees” into their countires. Llike Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic. No trouble in those places, costs are lower too.

Catholic charities have become a funnel for funds to illegal migrants to Europe and America. They directly support the transport and resettlement of African and middle-eastern migrants — no questions asked.
Carolyne says
And they get non-Catholic tax payer money with which to do it which IMO is a violation of the Constitution. The Pope just wants more money to fill the already overflowing coffers at the Vatican. If he and those old men wearing dresses genuinely cared for the weak and dispossessed, they would empty that vast treasury and use the proceeds to do it. Isn’t there a gold crown stashed away somewhere that the Pope would wear while being carried around in a chair? (I always wished they’d drop him, especially that fat one.} Sell that, El Popo, and help your favorite vandals take over Rome.

Alarmed Pig Farmer says
But remember that he was excoriated by making an accurate historical reference, and went silent on Moslems after that. There is no possibility now of having a Pope who would defend Christians.
Wellington says
Yes, I remember, but by that time he had made several accurate assessments of Islam and they were out there for all time. I think he went silent after the Manuel Paleologus remark because Catholics in Muslim-dominated nations would have been in jeopardy all the more had he kept speaking. Moreover, “all” Benedict did after his last public criticism of Islam was go silent. He never stupid or obsequious remarks about Islam as the present Pope has. Right now, I’d settle for just silence from this silly Pope. That would be much better than his regular pronouncements about how wonderful Islam is and how matters like protecting your borders and other national security concerns should take second place to more Muslim immigration.

This false pope is obsessed with turning formerly Christian countries into Muslim countries. It is his reason for living. He doesn’t care about abortion or euthanasia. He cares only about turning Europe and the USA into Muslim countries.
His predecessor was forced to resign because of his few, mild words quoting a philosopher about Islam. The Islamizing forces in the church made him resign. He lied about the reason. Not a very good example of good behavior for a pope!
Hal Adam says
Amazing how ignorant this left wing Pope is about Islam. He obviously knows nothing about ‘abrogation’ and that the latter verses of the Koran supersede previous peaceful ones. The Blind leading the Blind! Jesus never endorsed any illegal activity. People sneaking into other countries is illegal. The parable of the good Samaritan was about someone attacked by robbers, not about a bunch of mainly economic refugees coming into Judea illegally and demanding help. Many want to convert the natives in their new country to their fascist ideology of Islam. I believe poles show that the majority of these refugees want Sharia law which is TOTALLY incompatible with any democracy.
D Austin says
Instead of good Samaritan, it should be about the watcher on the wall.
The people of Eastern Europe still remember fighting the Ottoman Turks for several hundred years. If the Turks had not been stopped at the Gates of Vienna, all of Europe would have been overrun. I like the way Vlad The Impaler (Order of The Dragon) used an Ottoman form of torture against the Turks. Looked like an army of the damned when the Turks showed up. Hundreds of Muslim Turks on poles.Takes 2-3 days for them to die.

Agreed. We must terrorize the terrorists. Today we use nuclear weapons instead of impaling.

Reverse the comment into:
national security concerns trump migrants’ dignity and right to protection
to get the truth, as usual.
No one has to let them in at all. But this has been a trojan horse of chaos, just like planned and I knew it! Dignity and protection and rights are one thing, but they are a trojan horse. The only ones I would let in are the Christian migrants, who are being persecuted by the muslims. When it comes to the war zone and destruction in Syria, let the muslims go to the many other muslim countries nearby. It is their duty to take in their ‘brothers.’ But obviously, this what about things that are far different than that. They needed to travel thousands of miles into the heart of Europe in the name of ‘finding sanctuary,’ to destroy it, as we now see. This deceiver was behind these things all along!
Lydia says
Folks, this is really no surprise. After a few centuries the early church was corrupted by the pagan religions and Constantine allowed things to creep in as he ‘popularized’ the church and it crossed the line into the land of power, wealth, and elite. There have been other groups following the Bible during the time of the Catholic church and dark ages until the Reformation. The Orthodox church split too over issues. The point is to stick to what the Bible says. The Protestant/Evangelical churches had been doing this (some better than others) for the last 500 years but now we have the widespread apostasy (purpose driven, harlotry, etc.). But some of the main issues are that Jesus is the Head of the church, not any pope. There was no ‘line of popes’ built on Peter. All the apostles were pillars of the early church and had successors in different cities. Peter was appointed to preach and the church grew from Jerusalem outward to the ends of the earth. But the true church is Biblical. You must be born again, you must turn to Christ alone to be saved. If you turn to an organization and their rituals for this, it won’t work. You are then trusting in man and not God. We get saved and WE are the church, the church cannot save itself. We are the saints, priests, holy and royal in His sight, not those who now never even knew God but are ‘canonized.’ The Catholic church has doctrines like Mary being a ‘co-redeemer’ with Christ, this is blasphemy! Jesus does not need a helper! They worship Mary, pray to the dead, look to other mediators, when there are none. Jesus is the only Mediator, that is what the Bible says (1 Timothy 2; 5). The vatican and Catholic church and popes have been corrupt for centuries, it’s all about money, power, fame, control. And the scandals. This latest one is especially bad, the ultimate wolf in sheep’s clothing. I’m glad many are seeing this! But please, don’t count on the teachings of the Catholic church, your soul depends on it! Read the Bible and turn to Jesus Christ come to Him and you will have a personal relationship with the Lord. I’m not saying it’s all bad, the Trinity is true, the virgin birth, these things, but it is the approach that is all wrong. You need to go to God directly. That is what Jesus made possible on the cross. There is no more ‘temple,’ ‘priesthood,’ ‘sacrifices,’ that has all been fulfilled in Christ. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit, priests, saints, etc. and Jesus is the only sacrifice, once and for all, for all time, and this applies to you when you turn to Him and repent and receive Him as Lord of your life. There is a physical reality of His shed blood, but it applies in a spiritual way to us. We do it in remembrance of Him. In fact, someone shared a document and I will share that in the next comment to show that the early church also knew that Communion was symbolic.
R Russell says

Peter was the apostle to the Jews, Paul to the Gentiles.
I don’t deny Peter could possibly visited Rome. There is just no record of it.
Peter’s calling was to the Jews.

That and Paul was in a Roman “slammer” when Peter allegedly was there, yet no mention of Peter being there at the time.
Carolyne says
I was once at a sort of shrine thing on a mountain in Turkey. It was a little stone building which was claimed to be the abode of Mary after Christ’s death, having been brought there by Peter. There was running water, from a spring or perhaps piped in, I don’t know, but there is always running water at shrines. But the interesting thing was a large quantity of jewelry with diamonds, sapphires, emeralds, etc. which had been thrown into the basin which was covered with chicken wire in the event someone wanted to abscond with them. There were also a couple of pairs of crutches to give the impression, I suppose, that cripples who throw in their jewelry could walkaway without the crutches.
I don’t know who collected the valuables from time to time, but I am sure it wasn’t God. Likely He doesn’t wear jewelry, but if he did he could just command it up and it would appear. Cut out the middle man so to speak. I suspect the Turkish Government and the Vatican shared it, but it is more likely the Turks kept it all. It was a good little money-maker, though, and there’s no business like show business.
Adrian Johnson says
To Carolyne: I was also there in 2012 — it is “Mary’s House” above ancient Ephesis, and it was St John, not St Peter who brought her there to live out her old age. I went on a Bus tour from nearby resort town Kusadasi, though I wasn’t feeling well; had a sore throat the previous 5 days and was struggling to keep up with the others. The Turkish Government permits the Franciscan Friars to Oversee the Shrine, which is very peaceful. It is the only place in the region permitted to have a Catholic Mass on Sunday. I went there to pray for some family members on a very hot day, and drank some of the delicious ice cold water from the spring below the Holy House. A few minutes later I suddenly noticed my sore throat was gone! I felt great, and I consider Mother Mary worked this little miracle for me as a kindness, although I hadn’t even thought to ask for this. I have affectionate memories of this serene place.
Daniel Triplett says
A powerful message. May God bless you Lydia.
June Hoskin says
Pope Francis would do well to keep his political opinions to himself. He sounds to me like he has Senile Dementia and should be thoroughly checked for this. He wouldn’t be the first Pope who changed teams half way through the match, Pop Pius was a fine example and then again too was the Sainted Mother Theresa who played both sides like a violin.
Lydia says
Dear friends,
Communion is symbolic. See historical article below.
“The Didache, written in the late-first or early-second century, referred to the elements of the Lord’s table as “spiritual food and drink” (The Didache, 9). The long passage detailing the Lord’s Table in this early Christian document gives no hint of transubstantiation whatsoever.
Justin Martyr (110–165) spoke of “the bread which our Christ gave us to offer in remembrance of the Body which He assumed for the sake of those who believe in Him, for whom He also suffered, and also to the cup which He taught us to offer in the Eucharist, in commemoration of His blood“(Dialogue with Trypho, 70).
Clement of Alexandria explained that, “The Scripture, accordingly, has named wine the symbol of the sacred blood” (The Instructor, 2.2).
Origen similarly noted, “We have a symbol of gratitude to God in the bread which we call the Eucharist” (Against Celsus, 8.57).
Cyprian (200–258), who sometimes described the eucharist using very literal language, spoke against any who might use mere water for their celebration of the Lord’s Table. In condemning such practices, he explained that the cup of the Lord is a representation of the blood of Christ: “I marvel much whence this practice has arisen, that in some places, contrary to Evangelical and Apostolic discipline, water is offered in the Cup of the Lord, which alone cannot represent the Blood of Christ” (Epistle 63.7).
Eusebius of Caesarea (263–340) espoused a symbolic view in his Proof of the Gospel:
For with the wine which was indeed the symbol of His blood, He cleanses them that are baptized into His death, and believe on His blood, of their old sins, washing them away and purifying their old garments and vesture, so that they, ransomed by the precious blood of the divine spiritual grapes, and with the wine from this vine, “put off the old man with his deeds, and put on the new man which is renewed into knowledge in the image of Him that created him.” . . . He gave to His disciples, when He said, “Take, drink; this is my blood that is shed for you for the remission of sins: this do in remembrance of me.” And, “His teeth are white as milk,” show the brightness and purity of the sacramental food. For again, He gave Himself the symbols of His divine dispensation to His disciples, when He bade them make the likeness of His own Body. For since He no more was to take pleasure in bloody sacrifices, or those ordained by Moses in the slaughter of animals of various kinds, and was to give them bread to use as the symbol of His Body, He taught the purity and brightness of such food by saying, “And his teeth are white as milk” (Demonstratia Evangelica, 8.1.76–80).
Athanasius (296–373) similarly contended that the elements of the Eucharist are to be understood spiritually, not physically: “[W]hat He says is not fleshly but spiritual. For how many would the body suffice for eating, that it should become the food for the whole world? But for this reason He made mention of the ascension of the Son of Man into heaven, in order that He might draw them away from the bodily notion, and that from henceforth they might learn that the aforesaid flesh was heavenly eating from above and spiritual food given by Him.” (Festal Letter, 4.19)
Augustine (354–430), also, clarified that the Lord’s Table was to be understood in spiritual terms: “Understand spiritually what I said; you are not to eat this body which you see; nor to drink that blood which they who will crucify me shall pour forth. . . . Although it is needful that this be visibly celebrated, yet it must be spiritually understood” (Exposition of the Psalms, 99.8).”
It is symbolic, a representation, we are commanded to practice communion ‘in remembrance’ of Him, to commemorate His death until He returns, proclaiming His death as a witness to the world. There is nothing ‘in it’ that saves you. His death saves you and this applies when you receive Him as personal Lord and Savior. Also infant baptism; in Acts 8 we are told that baptism is only for those who believe in Christ and have received Him as Savior (no babies, they go to heaven anyway).
Please, come to Him as He calls out in Matthew 11;28. Come to the Merciful Savior, there simply is no substitute!

It’s alright for him to talk. He still has the significantly high wall round the Vatican built to keep the Muslims out for a previous time they were on the rampage in Europe.
Since the Muslims want to take Rome, I suppose he is happy with that.
Then there are those who believe he is the antichrist. If not THE antichrist he is certainly an antichrist for he is advocating dhimmitude for citizens of Europe.

I have one very simple piece of advice : put your money where your mouth is.
The pope is the head of state of the Vatican.
As such he should by his own words accept ALL migrants that want to come there.
We have milliions upon millions of potential migrants; he should welcome them ALL, according to his own words.
We all know that he will not do that, therefore we all know that his words carry little value.

Based on the Pope’s inability to answer the four cardinal’s dubia (questions) regarding his last encyclical, it would appear that he is not clear on Catholic theologiy’s application to the modern world experience. His attempt at interpretation of Islamic scripture is equally confusing.

Just when you think it can’t get any more ridiculous, it does! I am so tired of hearing him push his socialist agenda instead of doing his real job, teaching our Catholic beliefs and traditions. He makes me shake my head every time he opens his mouth.

I cannot imagine how this Pope believes that he is doing any good for the world Christian community.
This man is an absolute Argentine Socialist and hardly the protector of the Roman Catholic Church. To even dare a comparison of him to Pope John Paul is ridiculous. Pope John Paul was a great Pope, a great man. We were fortunate to have him in the Vatican, but about Pope Francis, he gives off weakness and selling out of Christians as necessary casualties in order to mollify the murdering Muslims. It is a signal to Islam that Christendom will bear losses of Christian lives in order to allow Islam its mission against all non-Muslims. Catholicism has gone through many modes in its existence, from once led by a “Warrior Pope” who punished those forces intending to destroy the Church, through the years and finally this Pope, whose virtue was compromised by values developed during the reign in Argentina of Juan Peron, a bloodthirsty dictator with much blood shed of Argentinians, until his death interrupted his cruel reign. I cite Pope Francis and the Cardinals who cast their Vatican votes for Francis to elect him as Pope as a tragedy to the Church, possibly the worst Vatican tragedy in modernity.

When the South American Jesuits demanded the Vatican allow them to become autonomous factions, Pope John Paul II paid a personal visit to South America and let them know they would be disbanded as an order if they didn’t get their act together. Now one of their own has taken control of the Vatican and there’s not much of anything to stop them from spreading their Marxist ideology. I’d say they are well on their way to splintering the Catholic Church..

“migrants’ dignity and right to protection trumps national security concerns.”
Says the elderly fat man who is surrounded by obscene wealth and astronomical levels of safety and security, residing in a palace that is safer than literally any general Westerner’s home, on the planet.
While he’s riding around in his bulletproof glass go-go-mobile, with a trail of powerfully armed and trained security personnel all readily prepared to throw their lives away in order to protect him.
Open the Vatican up – fill every single luxurious, antique-riddled room in that place with migrants. The Pope and his cohorts are apparently celibate, harmless old men who just love God – let them bunk down and share their bedrooms and private spaces with 20+ migrants each.
After all, the comfort and safety and rights of this scum trump everything else, according to the dickhead in the white dress who apparently runs the show down here, on behalf of God.

Hey, Frank, how many are you housing in The Vatican? I bet you could sleep over a thousand in St Pete’s. Use the Sistine Chapel as a mess hall. Nuns for servers.

I would like this Gomer Pyle look-alike to explain what he means by “Proper reading” of the Koran. Does he mean to skip over the more barbaric parts and ignore the commands to murder, rape and pillage? This person is an idiot picked up off the streets of Argentina which harbored Nazis after WW II and is probably harboring fascists now. His culture is not compatible with Western thought and he is working toward his “One World” goal. News flash, Pope!!! You will be the first to go when the Muslims take over Rome with your assistance.
Tear down your wall, welcome these sub-humans and see how long you and your cohorts live. They also love to blow up beautiful historical buildings, so St. Peters will likely be leveled.

– Apart from the fact that a muslim invasion is everything one, and surely a Catholic Pope, should NOT want for Europe, there is also this slight other problem: HOW TO PAY FOR IT ALL?
– Taking in so many non-Western immigrants into Europe will bring its social systems to collapse. The figures about the immigrants/refugees who are already here – and have been for decades – don’t lie: immigrants COST more than they (or their children) will pay IN to the system.
This is an established FACT.
– So is the Vatican going to finance all this so called Christian charity?

You haven’t been listening to Pope Karl Marx. He wants the well-off nations to redistribute their wealth to the rest of the world.

Maybe the Pope can explain why St. Thomas Aquinas disagrees with him.

GOOD FOR U IN REJECTING THIS SO-CALLED BOUGHT AND PAID FOR POPE. SHAME ON HIM- IN HIS ONE-WAY CONSTANT SPEECH OF PUTTING THE REST OF THE WORLD AND CHRISTIAN PEOPLE LIVES IN GREAT JEOPARDY! SHAME ON HIM….
Here’s an idea Mr. pope- get a job, use u’r own money to travel, oh and no more security/guards in those travels or while giving sermons in u’r travels, then, if U make it out alive from those same people U want the rest of us to embrace, then come and give us u’r speech…. enough already enough. Grow up and start facing the real truth with u’r eyes and ears wide open! Get real! Shame on U, shame on U.
Oh and by the way- Jesus traveled embracing his faith, talking about the Lord so others will hear- And Not telling everyone what to do, he walked the walk- not using other peoples money nor did he have a giant gated/wall palace to reside in. U are nothing but another politician, the same ole same ole- Do as I say not as I do…. same ole BS. Shame on U.

I am a Catholic who attends a Protestant church. There are several other Catholics in attendance at this church on Sundays. This pope’s pronouncements reassure me that I am doing the right thing.
The religious Left (including many Leftists in the Catholic Church) are being funded to the tune of millions, if not billions, of dollars by Soros. The are serving his cause as “useful idiots”. Some are actually Alinsky radicals. Some are Leftist “Social Justice” activists. They are sowing confusion and disruption into political decision making. We should remain focused on recognizing that Islam resurgent is THE existential threat to Western Civilization and our Judeo-Christian underpinnings.
