On August 22, 2017, I appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show on Fox to discuss Jihad Watch’s banning from PayPal, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s spurious “hate group” listing, and the Left’s war against the freedom of speech.

I watch Tucker Carlson often, I record it. Thank you Tucker for having Robert Spencer on your great show. There are a few on Fox I cannot listen too lately since I can see they are not informed on the subject of the insanity of “hate speech” and possible law to criminalize factual concerns not by calling for violence but just factual speaking. Antifa’s violence is acting more like what they protest especially when they show up on universities who pays you?

Even Fox News misinforms the public about Islam. Some examples:
radical Islam
radical Islamic terrorist/ism
Islamic extremist

As I can’t believe that ALL of their on air personalities are THAT uninformed–and knowing that one very knowledgeable individual was told before his Shepard Smith appearance “not to bash the religion–is there any doubt that nonsense comes from the top?

I caught most of Robert’s interview while watching the Carlson show, but I’m happy to have the opportunity to see it again.
Robert is an outstanding commentator and resource for any network smart enough to employ him. He’s direct, forceful, knowledgeable, brief, and actually addresses questions directly. Many of Carlson’s subjects are not really anxious to show themselves directly, and absolutely won’t answer a direct question directly. It’s one of Carlson’s gifts that most of the time, he makes it very clear when the interviewee doesn’t want to answer a question directly.
Robert has an encyclopedic knowledge of Islam at his fingertips, and never has to fall back on unsupported generalities or vague inferences. It’s one of the reasons the Muslim Brotherhood cutouts and other jihadist lites refuse to debate him. Most of the time, when a CAIR or ISNA representative appears on one of the mediocre news channels, they can get away with citing the Koran verse on tolerance or the verse on the horrors of taking a human life, and there is no challenge. The overpaid pampered network entertainment mediocrities posing as newsmen don’t bother to do actual research and so don’t challenge them.
Tucker Carlson is actually the best of the lot, and is excellent. He obviously knows even more than he lets on, which is understandable given his need to stay employed. There’s always some floozy waiting in the wings, wanting to gain some publicity by claiming that such and such groped her 15 years ago in an elevator, and she was too intimidated to talk about it until now. So, any network can get rid of almost anyone anytime by appearing to take these charges seriously.

I’m surprised at Tucker’s surprise. Facts don’t matter anymore. Reality is out. What matters now is the narrative, and the credibility with which you can deliver an accusation. For example, we know now that Trump committed treason to get elected. Now, there is no evidence of this crime, in fact there is even no credible evidence that the Russians were responsible for the Wikileaks hacks. But, no matter, credible people are making the charge so the narrative floats.

Yup, Tucker and Hannity are still hanging in there. Just like the White House, there is a left wing movement at Fox News.
Wellingtonsays
A salient and accurate point, Krazy Kafir. Fox News has enemies within just as the White House does. This is not representative of paranoia, simply truth.
Representative too of just how effective Leftism has been. In this respect Leftism gets an “A.” Even people like Bush 43, Karl Rove, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, certainly Lindsey Graham and John McCain, have bought into the crap that Leftism spews (e.g., that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance).
As a major indication of the osmotic invidiousness of Leftism, no liberal appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States over the last sixty years has moved to the right, but many so-called conservatives appointed to the Court have moved to the left, Brennan, Kennedy and Souter being just a few examples.
Leftism is an enemy of freedom. Much as Islam is. Anyone missing this misses a lot. And freedom is what made America great above all other factors. So, if one prizes freedom, one must see that not only is Islam an eternal enemy of liberty but so is modern Western Leftism. The two, in so many ways, are, so to speak, tied at the hip.
Surely. Indubitably. No wonder they’re allies.

KK and W,
As it pertains to Islam:

That given–why does he persist in regurgitating the “radical Islam” meme?
Why do so many Fox News folks do that?

True, PRCS–but at least Hannity is consistently critical of violent Jihad, which is more than you can say for most newscasters.
Wellingtonsays
PRCS: If Hannity were the worst we had in major news where Islam is concerned, don’t you think we’d be much better off? But instead he is about the best out there right now. I trust you see my point.
PRCSsays
But my question remains unanswered.
Why do Fox folks–and their guests–do that?
More to the point, the public would be far better informed by the word ‘jihad’–and to let Muslims (and other news outlets) try to prove them wrong.
Almost 16 years since 9/11 and they still persist in using deceptive euphemisms.
There’s really no good reason.
Wellingtonsays
I think, PRCS, that Hannity (and some others at Fox but not the silly Shepard Smith) is pushing it as far as he can right now. I understand and even agree with your point, i.e., take off the damn gloves once and for all and call all of Islam out for what it is, but I’ll settle for “radical Islam” for a while longer while more and more regular folks come to the conclusion that Islam is effed-up as no other major religion remotely is. I personally have many friends and acquaintances who realize this now but when I first told them years ago about Islam they doubted me. No longer.
It’s going to take a bit more time for it to sink into the body politic that mankind actually could get a major religion that is rotten to the core and has control-freak aspects written all over it. But it’s ‘ahappenin’. As proof, just reflect upon how many people in America and in many other Western nations have a negative view of Islam that they did not have just twenty, even ten, years ago. Islam can’t help revealing what it’s really all about in the long run. How ironic that arguably just about the best ally in the fight against Islam is Islam itself. Can’t make this stuff up.
PRCSsays
Yes, my friend, time to take off the damn gloves.
IMO, that some Fox folks are (likely) pushing it as far as they can makes clear why we do have to settle for euphemisms at this time.
A Jesse Watters guest this past weekend (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0jwhEgH-B4) made the point–no difference between “radical” Islam and Islam. Not sure if Watters was shocked to hear that or shocked that the guest said it on his show.

One of the problems in taking any action at all is the diversity of the country, which means the political power is split down the middle and any action can be blocked. For example, we just had a federal judge block for the second time an eminently reasonable voter id law in Texas. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2017/08/23/federal-judge-throws-texas-voter-law
I have written my Texas representative, asking if he is going to propose impeaching this judge. I suspect our representative, ostensibly conservative but actually neocon in drag, is going to have to be opposed in primary, and I hope to support whoever does it.
But, my point is, with a diverse, evenly-divided polity, any blocking action is not going to be offset, unless we get rule by decree. So, Trump proposes a travel ban, which is blocked by local-level federal judges. Trump proposes deregulation, blocked by local-level federal judges. Texas passes a reasonable voting act, blocked by local-level federal judges. And it is virtually impossible to impeach and remove these judges because of the two-thirds impeachment rule.

Isn’t it “hate speech” for imams to call for the murder of the Jews?

Perhaps SPLC should read what the koran and hadith says about the Jews(and what has to be done to the Jews to create an islamic supremacist caliphate:kill them).
If you think Hitler’s mein kampf or the fraudulent Protocols of the Elders of Zion were a bit anti-Semitic,I suggest the liberal lefties and SPLC take some time to read the koran and the hadith for their blatant hatred of the Jews.
The sheer hypocrisy of going after Mr Spencer and JW when it is people like Mr Spencer and others who bravely fight AGAINST islamic supremacist ideology and it’s rabid anti-Semitism;The hypocrisy of the SPLC would appear to be lost on them and the leftie liberal mafia that do everything possible to stifle legitimate inquiry and dissenting opinions.Just like the Communists:they have to control free speech.Or the fascists..or the Nazis.. in fact since Communism and fascism are both sides of the same coin and use similar methods to deny freedom of belief, opinion and existence.
