Imagine, if you will, an organization is to be headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, and will have its national convention there in 2018. The organization has a history of supporting anti-Semitism and anti-Jewish/anti-Israel remarks. The organization has supported convicted terrorists who hate Jews and want to destroy Israel. The new chairman of the organization was specifically involved in supporting one of those convicted terrorists, and an organization he founded some decades ago was later listed as a member-organization of a group founded in Libya with the intent to “smash Zionism.” And with one exception, the major Iowa media has looked the other way or provided superficial coverage with a “nothing to see here” attitude. The entire Iowa State Legislature has been made aware of this organization, but at this point, only a very few have spoken up. There are some in the Des Moines Jewish community who are very concerned about this organization, but there has been general silence from the leadership.
The organization is the American Muslim Alliance (AMA), and its new chairman is Iowa State Representative Ako Abdul-Samad.
I first wrote about this a couple of months ago in Jihad Watch: “Support for Jihadists coming to the Heartland?” In August, I completed the first in-depth examination of the AMA: “Looking into the Heart of the American Muslim Alliance.” During early August, the AMA website was taken down, along with the pictures showing support and affiliation with convicted terrorists and anti-Semites; fortunately, I had taken screenshots, links to which were included in my in-depth article.
The one exception to the major Iowa media’s indifference or superficial coverage was Tamara Scott of “Truth for our Time.” In July, she devoted the bulk of her hour-long radio program to having me talk about the AMA. She then made repeated attempts to have Representative Abdul-Samad join me on a future program to discuss the AMA; he declined. He also declined my invitation for both of us to address the AMA on “Truth for our Time.” Abdul-Samad even stood-up one of my friends, who had set up a lunch meeting with him specifically to talk about the AMA.
In the middle of August, another friend sent information about the AMA and my articles to the entire Iowa State Legislature, including Representative Abdul-Samad, and some influential folks in the Des Moines area. I became involved after one of the Democrat state representatives, whom I had never met, replied to everyone with an email attacking my character and credibility as a writer. I appreciated the subsequent support I received from among the Republicans (one state senator and a number of state representatives). Unfortunately, there has been only silence from the legislative leadership and Abdul-Samad.
I have had e-mail and verbal discussions with a number of folks involved in the Des Moines Jewish community. Some of these folks are very concerned about the AMA and its history, and want the still-silent community leadership to take a stand about the AMA. Other folks prefer to wait until the AMA is established in Des Moines, and then try to work things out. My response to those folks was that, given the already-known history of the AMA, if there wasn’t the will to address the AMA before it gets established, there will certainly be no will to address it once it is established.
Imagine, if you will, that an organization with the same history as the AMA was coming to be headquartered in Des Moines and hold its national conference there in 2018, but it had a name along the lines of the “American Neo-Nazi Alliance.” Can you imagine there would be such indifference by most of the major Iowa media and the state legislature? Can you imagine the Des Moines Jewish community would be so divided and silent?
But the reality is that the name of the organization includes the word “Muslim,” not “Neo-Nazi.” Dhimmitude has arrived in Des Moines.

The result of years of leftist indoctrination in the public school system. This resulted in a few generations of educators that then went into the private institutions and spread the same philosophies. Of course, it does not help when KSA, Turkey, and various countries and princes endow chairs, departments, and schools at the college and university level.
I do not see how this will have a good ending.
RichardL says
They bundle their money and give it to the Jesuit universities and Harvard. California has some individual nut cases that are funded by jihadis but they are rare.
The leftist bent is wholly independent of the islamist theme. The islamists just use the left.
Guy Forester says
Actually, they seem to be symbiotic at this time. The left has gone away from reality by equating all religions or the lack thereof as being of equal value. Would they equate some stone age tribal child killing ritual as the same as Buddhism or Baha’i? Probably. This helps the left with their goal of dismantling Western civilization and values.
I do agree with you in this respect: As I see it, both sides think the other is too stupid to realize that when they have destroyed us, they will then turn on their little helper. History shows that Nazis, Communists, and even Muslim governments have always had purges when they got in control.
Screeminmeeme says
The Left has an inexplicable, sick alliance with Islam. At any time you can observe them defending the ideology, either unaware/unwilling to admit the truth about it, which is why they oppose Robert Spencer, Pam Geller, and the others who dare to tell the truth about the evil ideology.
Leftists don’t understand that if they fail to prevent the Islamization of our country, they will be consumed by sharia like the rest of us. Fools.

I sometimes wonder why the neo-Nazis and Communists don’t declare their ideologies to be religions. It worked for so many other nutters. Scientology is just one example. Can one of you Americans explain that that to me?
Keys says
RichardL-
Part of the reason may have been that the advent of communism was atheistic in Russia and China. Religion was the “opiate of the people”, and many churches in Russia were demolished or used for other purposes.
Likewise, the origins of nazism in Germany were influenced by the writings/ideas of Frederick Nietzsche: “God is dead”, Ubermensch, Will to Power, critique of Christian morality as a weak slave-like morality rather than a master morality, and contempt for democracy as based on Christian morality.
American law likely puts forth what is needed to qualify as a religion for tax-exempt status, but I am not informed there, and that may be what you are asking.
I am guessing I have told you nothing new, and I see your point as I think that for many, neo-communism and neo-nazism are religions without a “god”; except that the state or nation or man becomes “god”.
Man becomes the measure of all things.
Kepha says
@RichardL and Keys:
Part of our issue is that our Founders had a pretty limited understanding of “religion”. They basically saw it as some form or another of Christianity, with a nod to the Jews. Their Unitarianism also still saw itself as kind of biblically-improved “Christianity”, and struggled to expound every jot, tittle, and participle of Moses, Isaiah, John, and Paul. What they knew of Buddhism, Hinudism, Confucianism, or whatnot had been filtered through a bunch of Jesuit Latin translations which in turn had been heavily formed by a Thomistic natural law doctrine. Throw in just a dab of Graeco-Roman paganism safely neutered and re-packaged by Renaissance and Enlightenment humanists who had been raised as Christians.
As for the Marxists and National Socialists and suchlike, they do not consider themselves “religions” because, much as they set up idols by the dozen, they sell themselves to rebellious youth who object to going to Sunday School by presenting themselves as examples of “Mankind come of Age” and being too smart and grown-up to be taken in by fables. Never mind all that’s said about the proletarians, other oppressed classes du jour, and whatever some activist wants to set up as a new Messiah.
Yet, even so, one far-sighted socialist poet of yesterday named Carl Sandburg was honest enough to admit:
I have seen
The old gods go
And the new gods come.
Day by day
And year by year
The idols fall
And the idols rise.
Today
I worship the hammer.
Yes, we’re a worshiping species, and if we don’t worship God our Creator and Redeemer, we’ll end up worshiping some created thing. Nods to my old friends Jean Calvin and Paul of Tarsus.

Gee, I remember seeing a photograph of Mohammed Amin al-Husseini, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, sitting with Hilter and making plans of what to do with the Jews. Hilter of course had his ideas, ideas which at the time the photo had already been placed into action. His ideas were very much in alignment with those of the Grand Mufti.
http://www.billionbibles.org/photos/Haj-Amin-al-Husseini-and-Adolf-Hitler.jpg
All those plans are very much in alignment with the American Muslim Alliance, soon to be of Des Moines.
And the Jews of Iowa need more information?
eduardo odraude says
Actually, the Grand Mufti played a major role in the Holocaust. Before the Grand Mufti’s intervention, Hitler had been letting large numbers of Jews leave Germany in exchange for ransoms. The Grand Mufti told Hitler that Muslims did not want the Jews coming to Palestine, where many of the German Jews were heading, and that if Hitler wanted the Muslim Middle East as an ally in the war, he’d better stop the Jews escaping and deal with them differently. The Mufti encouraged the Jews’ destruction. It was due to the threat from the Grand Mufti to not ally with Hitler, that Hitler’s anti-Semitic obsession dovetailed with his strategic interests: getting the Middle East on his side. The Jewish “problem” would now have to be “solved” not by kicking the Jews out of Europe, but by genocide.
Guy Forester says
+1

Since the holocaust was taught so significantly for the last 40 years, the fact the Islam played a role in getting it started would score major points in a debate about Islam with anyone who is in the 20 to 40 year age range.

Meturaf: That quote by the late Rabbi Meir Kahane, (who was murdered in N.Y.C. by a Palestinian Muslim in 1990. The Muslim was later tried. But never convicted, due to “lack of witnesses”) was quite popular during the 1970’s but has been long forgotten by history. I am surprised that you managed to “dig it up”. I also agree with everything you have said in your post. P.S. I met Rabbi Kahane once at one of the protest rallies he organized in Washington D.C. I belonged to the group he founded, the “Jewish Defense League” aka the JDL. He gave an inspiring and invigorating speech at that rally. He was very charismatic, combining great leadership qualities with impressive organizational abilities. At the time, his beliefs were considered “radical”. (such as completely removing all the “Palestinians” entirely out of the 1967 borders of Israel, which included, at the time, the “West Bank”, “Gaza” and the “Sinai Peninsula”) But today, with Islam running rampant throughout the world, his ideas seem contemporary and quite reasonable. So it seems, in the current age, “radical” is the “new” rational.

Thank you Louis. I have long appreciated the amazing foresight Rabbi Meier Kahane O’H displayed in all his published works as they related to the Arabs. Meturaf: Once again, thank you so much for the reminders (I totally forgot about the Rabbi’s books) and the links to his writings. I’m so glad that we can agree that Rabbi Kahane was way ahead of his time. I was privileged to have met him and belonged to his organization the “Jewish Defense League”. This group was also far ahead of the curve as the first proactive, extremely aggressive and very outspoken Jewish civil rights association. Way too extreme for main stream American Jewish (and some non-Jewish) groups to handle back then, in the early 1970’s. The group was considered very radical, even by many Israeli political parties in their Parliament and even got the attention of the Prime Minister.(forgot who was P.M. at the time) Anyway, thanks again for your support and the info. Thank you for your New Years well wishes, and to you and yours, L’Shana Tovah U’Metuka, a “Sweet New Year”. 2017-2018
