The Denk Party has a lot of nerve to call for this, given the dire situation for religious minorities in Turkey. Most of Turkey’s historic minority communities are long gone, of course: massacred or exiled in the Armenian and Greek Genocides. The remaining Christians suffer escalating persecution.
Yet now the Denk Party wants to lecture the Dutch parliament about the plight of Muslims in a country that has done everything it possibly could to accommodate them?
This is a classic example of the playing of the victim card in order to manipulate authorities into further appeasement and accommodation, even above and beyond the favors those authorities have already bestowed.
“Dutch parliament rejects Turkish party’s offer to discuss Islamophobia,” Pakistan Defence, September 23, 2017:
“Dutch parliament refused on Thursday Denk Party’s request to discuss the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) survey, which found that Muslims in the Netherlands experience discrimination at the highest rate among EU member states.
According to the results of the U.S.-based FRA survey, the Muslim community in the Netherlands is more widely discriminated against than any other Muslim communities in the EU. In response to the results of the survey, the Dutch Denk Party, founded by Dutch-Turks, is seeking to bring the subject to the agenda of parliament. However, the Denk Party’s attempts to discuss the issue were rejected in parliament.
Issuing a statement on the issue, Denk Party leader Tunahan Kuzu said that parliament avoids questioning itself and grasps the policy of sliding over these kinds of important issues.
“When there is a violation being committed against human rights in a foreign country, the Dutch parliament discusses it for hours. Yet, when it comes to their own country, they prefer to stay in silence,” Kuzu said, adding that parliament members deemed a written evaluation of the survey by letter as an adequate governmental response to the results.
The survey covers the experiences of Muslim immigrants and their EU-born children, revealing that public attitudes toward Muslims have changed little over the last decade. The survey was conducted with 10,527 people who identified themselves as Muslims in 15 EU member states from October 2015 to July 2016. According to the survey results, those who have been discriminated against due to their religion increased from 5 percent to 10 percent in the last five years. However, the Netherlands has the highest in Europe with 30 percent.
The survey found that 39 percent of participants have experienced discrimination in the five years leading up to the survey due to Also, 27 percent of respondents said they know a friend or family member who has been insulted or called names due to ethnicity or immigration status in the year before the survey was taken. In addition, 42 percent of respondents who were stopped by police over the last year claimed they were targeted because of their migrant or ethnic minority background….

Can’t this party be tried for treason, and hung? If they are guilty, of course, not expousing any vigilantyismkindathingy. What was gerts response?

Muslims in the Netherlands probably get more discrimination than they used to. The cause of this is not “islamophobia” but the fact the generations who grew up here do not assimilate into Dutch society. Maybe the Dutch begin to sense there is something wrong with Islam & the DENK party.

Muslims are not discriminated against in the Netherlands–they like to pretend that they are, though.

People by the name Ahmed or Youssef have almost no chance to get an internalship in our higher education, because no company wants to have them. As such, they have to suffer the consequences of the behaviour of their fellow arabian citizens. It is a sad fact that most of these students have nothing to do with islamic misbehaviour and are thrown back in the misery of everything islam in this way. The Netherlands is no exception, and it is a bloody shame that anyone voted for this antidemocratic Denk party. Notice the black woman in the photo, Silvana Simons, she is one of our Antillian losers, on the tv all the time and managed to never bring up anything against the fact that women, jews and gay people are severely discriminated against by islam, and mr Erdogan from Turke rounded up abaut 100000 of his opponents in Turkey without any form of evidence or trial. Denk supports Erdogan.

Good grief. Muslims have enormous opportunities for education, employment, and other opportunities in the West. Pretending they are all poor and oppressed is ridiculous.

Muslims should reflect seriously as to why there aren’t phobias attached to Jews, Hindus or Buddhists. Why are Muslims so vilified. But I doubt that because Muslims don’t have enough brain cells to think.

I think most Muslims understand this. They just want Infidels to feel guilty about their concerns over Jihad–if successful, it is much easier to shut down any resistance to the spread of Islam.

Of course the Dutch Parliament doesn’t want to discuss “islamophobia”. The very existence of a “Turkish” party smacks of sedition. They are either Dutch citizens or Turks and Turkey has no rights in the Netherlands. The Parliament also knows that Geert Wilders will be waiting with documented discrimination by “Dutch Turks”, against Dutch citizens, to read to them.
Dutch Turks is an oxymoron. Dual citizenship should be outlawed across Europe.
I wonder about leftists says
I saw and heard Geert Wilders, it was a very strong speech and he really let the parlement have it, of course theTurks were feeling victimised straight away and the party “DENK” made some lame excuses
that the young muslims who had expected a much better life and di not get it, were radicalised much faster. And they did not get the life they expected. how terrible, well I got news for you, neither did my life, was there anybody who felt sorry for me, but I did not radicalise. I always tried to make a better life for me, and sometimes it was successful and often not. But then may be it was because I was white, (or sometimes black when I wanted, (stating Linda Sarsour) But you accept the bad blows and move on.
And that dual citizenship is crazy too. Europeans don’t have that, it is forbidden for us. But the Dutch say, there was no other way for the Turks, once a Turk always a Turk and they even payed the Turks to buy of their military service.
It is no wonder that Turks will never really mix with the Dutch, and it can not be, they are loyal (most of them, not everyone) to Erdogan.
The Dutch parlement does not want to work together with his party, he is the second biggest party in the Netherlands, but no other party wants to govern with him.
If he says something and a small thing does not agree with the muslims, they sue him on the taxpayers money, he has been at court quite some times already.
Him and his wife have been guarded and protected by 4 or 6 guards already for 10 years as he was treated with death so many times, he has to sleep every day in a different place, sometimes even in a prison cell. What kind of life is that, but he keeps on going and like he said, as long he is healthy and still alive, he will not stop. In that sense, he is like Robert Spencer and I admire them for their strength and I really admire most of the comments and that all you people stay on writing.
I sometimes get angry about all this, we could have used our time so much better for trying to make it a better world, but we go on. Thank you, all of you.

and of course always playing victims and blaming the majority. Happens in India ALL THE TIME…

Guard against the implementation of proportional representation in your democracies. It works so badly and gives such bad results that “political scientists” keep trying to make it work by creating new variations. If you go to wikipedia then you will see how many there are (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proportional_representation#PR_electoral_systems). The fact is, none of them work.
The Netherlands is a case in point. It has no less that 81 registered political parties. That’s why this freak show of a party is allowed to get funding from the government and exist! In the last election there were no less than fifteen political parties on the ballot. And when they all get seats in a parliament, nothing gets done!
balafama says
govt shouldn’t fund political parties and i question the formation of parties created on the platform of ethnicity ,race, gender or religion .that itself seems discriminatory, even if they claim anyone can register because their primary aim would be to entrench the interests of said group b4 national interests.

Muslims in general have a lot of nerve to ask and DEMAND rights, which do not matter reasonable or not. The point is, they get what they ask and demand for. So, why not demand rights they won’t even dare to do in their own filthy Islamic countries. WHO TO BLAME?!!! Right, the citizens of the host countries.
I am Coptic and have an ugly personal experience with the Muslims in my birth country Egypt for over 25 years. I was FORCED to study the Koran and hadiths by imam from Al-Azhar. Egypt was about 96% Christians when the Muslims invaded it. Folks, this is the way Muslims do when invade a country. Egypt was on the top of the world known then. So, please do not thin for a second that this would not happen to mighty USA.
My original language is Coptic NOR ARABIC, but the Muslim ruler issued an order to cut the tongue of any Coptic who spoke Coptic. One can imagine who many tongues have been cut.
