Millions of Christians in the Middle East were murdered, displaced from their homes, forcibly converted to Islam, made to pay the jizya, enslaved, brutalized…did the Vatican ever discuss their plight at the state level with any government?
Maybe it did, but I am unaware of any such discussion. I do know that Pope Francis ran interference for the persecutors, making the flatly false statement that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” He also said that “Muslim terrorism does not exist.”
So while a Vatican representative meets with the foreign minister of a state whose government orders its citizens to chant “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” in mosques every week, has the Vatican shown any concern for the Buddhists who have been displaced and murdered, and the Hindus who have been murdered by the Rohingya Muslims who started this conflict?
“Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)
“Iran, Vatican City Discuss Plight of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar,” Iran Front Page, September 6, 2017:
Iranian foreign minister and Vatican City’s secretary for relations with states have conferred on the desperate situation of Muslims in Myanmar, calling for an international effort to end the plight.
In a Wednesday meeting with Vatican City’s Paul Richard Gallagher in Tehran, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the issue of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and called on all countries to cooperate and join hands to stop the massacre and mass expulsion of Muslims in the country.
The Iranian top diplomat also appreciated Vatican City’s efforts in this regard.
Speaking about the crisis in the Korean Peninsula, the Iranian FM added that after the Cuban crisis the world has forgotten the danger of using these weapons, but again we are witnessing that this great danger is posing threats to the international community.
Talking about the region’s critical conditions, the Iranian foreign minister underlined the need for peaceful solutions to overcome these crises, stressing that the world’s problem today is extremism, which is not limited to a special region.
He also referred to the long-standing, respectful and reciprocal relations between Tehran and the Holy See (Vatican City) and emphasized the need for dialogue and effective cooperation between religions and civilizations.
“Iran respects the character and positions of the Pope,” Zarif went on to say.
In turn, Gallagher referred to Vatican City’s efforts to resolve the crisis in Myanmar, saying that “we will continue our efforts in this regard.”…
“Encouraging the culture of peace and the peaceful coexistence of religions in the Middle East should be pursued with earnestness and the Vatican has always supported this coexistence between religions,” he added….

If the check clears the bank, hey, who cares if it’s from Iran, Saudi Arabia, or Qatar? Since untold numbers of Catholics have stopped contributing on a monthly basis since oh, 1965 or so, the Catholic Church needs to get money from *somewhere.* And it’s easy enough for them to imagine that they’re still fulfilling the mission of the Church to love one’s fellow man. After all, since about 1965 or so, that’s what Catholicism has been all about.
Wouldn’t it be outrageous to learn that Islamic countries are the biggest donors to the Catholic Church?
mortimer says
The pope needs to get his priorities straight. I will encourage ALL Roman Catholics to send their offering to clergy they know to be COUNTERJIHADISTS and boycott clergy who are dhimmis. Then they should tell their bishops what they are doing. The message will reach the Vatican quickly.
Custos Custodum says
Benedict XVI was forced out, and Frank the Bouncer was appointed, on direct orders from Barry Obama faithfully carried out by the CIA.
One cannot blame the CIA – this is the kind of thing we pay them for, and they will have received direct official orders before acting.
Post-election, Frank (like Barry himself) remains a valuable place man for the anti-Christian, totalitarian, globalist forces who want to make the world safe for billionaires and tyrants.
gravenimage says
Custos, what makes you think the CIA had anything to do with this?
Custos Custodum says
Graven, no direct evidence of CIA involvement, but two wider factors:
(1) Frank is almost a cartoon impersonation of the kind of person that Barry and his women would put in place – third world, all-but-openly 70s Marxist, no deep roots in Western traditions or history. (Precise opposite of Benedict who apparently read statements by Byzantine emperors in the original Greek.)
(2) Since time immemorial, temporal “princes” have been involved in political games to get their man on the throne of St. Peter. It remains an important international position – it would be very strange if Barry had NOT gone out to appoint their man.
Remember Team Barry and their Euro allies must have been planning Operation 4M (Millions of Male Muslim “Migrants”) since about 2012. Co-opting/subverting the Catholic Church was a crucial preparatory step. (Plus, again, Team Barry hate Christianity, each for different reasons.)
gravenimage says
Custos, thanks for your reply. I’m not saying that Obama was not able to put his own ugly people into security in many cases–I just haven’t seen any evidence that the CIA was involved in the instillation of Pope Francis. And while the pope is certainly an influential figure, he is not the temporal power that he was in centuries past.
Custos Custodum says
Ironically, we live in an age where direct evidence of CIA involvement would be treated (at least publicly) as a much BIGGER scandal than in the past.
In the past, nobody would have expected the kings of France, Naples or the German emperor NOT to play a significant role in appointing cardinals and having the “right” man elected pope, no doubt with fascinating backroom deals.
Note that Benedict was forced to resign in February 2013, just a few weeks after the start of Barry’s second term – precisely the time where Barry himself said (in a different context) that he would have “more flexibility” than before the 2012 elections. Despite ominous hints about the state of his health back then, he remains alive and apparently in tolerable health 4 years later.

epistemology says
Indeed the world’s problem today is extremism, not related to a special region, but related to a special religion or ideology: Islam.
Wherever Muslims are on this planet they create havoc, they rape and kill. Myanmar is no exception, but business as usual. It’s about time that our politicians and other leaders understand this and act accordingly.
The Buddhists and Hindus in Myanmar didn’t create any problems but the Muslims did. I keep wondering why Muslims and their apologists always succeed in convincing other people that they are the poor victims. Obviously the world has a lot to learn.
Santa Voorhees says
Exactly! Yet the leftist/jihadi alliance likes to pretend that buddhists are killing muslims just for the sake of it.
I think what’s happening in Myanmar will soon happen in Europe as well, if jihad attacks continue. You know, sooner or later, Europeans will get tired of being slaughtered…. I hope!
Wellington says
“Obviously the world has a lot to learn.”
As least as much as ever, epistemology, which kinda’, sorta’ serves as a comment on man’s incapacity to ever learn, profoundly unfortunate though this is.
To the extent that Islam still gets a pass anywhere in the West (or anywhere in the world for that matter), to that precise extent is what I just stated above a sad reality.
Once again, I hope you and those you hold most dear are doing as well as possible in a world which is definitely on fire and, sadly, increasingly out of its collective mind (the two of course are related).
You know, liberty accompanied by common sense, proper moral intelligence, and a true Golden Rule for all—–in politics, in the economy, in society at large—–is the key to a better society. Right now, Islam, as ever, is no help here. Neither, unfortunately, is so much of the current leadership in the West.
This is where we are at present. Damn shame. Damn stupid too. Take care, my dear friend.
Flavius Claudius Iulianus says
“I keep wondering why Muslims and their apologists always succeed in convincing other people that they are the poor victims.”
——–
I’ve wondered about this myself. After much reading, research and thinking I have put it down to two forces:
1. The intimate relationship between “Socialism” and Mohammadism. They resemble each other so much that it is frightening. Both believe in deceit and that “the end justifies the means.” While this impossible utopian “end” is never attained, the “means” produces innumerable other “ends” that are anything but utopian, often horrific.
2. Big, Middle Eastern oil money. They say everybody has a price. Given the right price many would lie, cheat and betray all those around them. If you dig deep enough you will find that most of the important people in political leadership in the world right now, have ties to big, Middle Eastern oil money.
Joe says
For most, that price is less than $100.00. I’m not kidding.
brianc says
I am a lifetime Catholic. Since Francis became Pope, my religion has meant far ,ess to me. And, the US bishops aren’t much better.
Flavius Claudius Iulianus says
And the sad thing is that if you express this disenchantment to a bishop or your local bishop then you will get a lecture about your being un-Christian to the Mohammadin, or going against the church’s doctrine. And you will get this lecture from a man who knows nothing about Mohammadism.
I’m hoping Frank will take that step too far (sooner rather than later) that will completely alienate him from most Christians, and precipitate an end to his papacy.

Find your nearest Anglican Ordinariate parish and join it. There is reverent liturgy, authentic holiness, and scholarly priests who have made great financial security to be part of it. They are devoted to prayer, and know how to “read the signs of the times”.
Bad Bishops hate or resent or ignore the Anglican Ordinariate. Pope Benedict loved everything they represent, — undoing the English reformation. `my spiritual life took off like a rocket and I am member of a parish where everyone cares deeply about everyone else.

To Brianc – I too am Catholic – I no longer attend Catholic mass regularly. I am deeply disappointed with this pope. Jenny H says
El Cid 2,
I absolutely agree with with your comments and have reacted in the same way as you.
Voytek Gagalka says
I do not understand why this institution, the Roman Catholic Church, is still not suffering any schism because of that their current outrageous policies, why “believers” still tolerate that papacy, why they don’t REBEL? Luther has had much less reason and excuse to split that “church’ in his days. Even less reason surely existed in 9th century to split Christendom in half between Rome and Eastern (orthodox) Church. But they did it nevertheless! Did they have more “divine” inspiration and courage?
Carolyne says
In both cases you mention, more common sense. When one must pay an “Indulgence” of money to a priest, in order to enter their heaven, then a reasonable person would know that is wrong. Luther certainly saw it for what it was. Extortion.

Its amazing to me, a Catholic, that “The Vatican” comments on these people when the Pope has had so little to say about the Coptic Christians who have been locked in their churches and burned alive, raped, tortured, sold into the sex slave trade, beheaded etc. The Vatican under this Pope, is making itself irrelevant to those of us who believe in our religion.
R Russell says
Has the Pope researched how the Muslims came to be in Myanmar (Burma) and their past ‘exploits’? Has he listened to the latest info from the Myanmar government or is he just jumping on the ‘poor victimised Muslims’ bandwagon?

Custos Custodum says
The simple answer is that “research” is not really what bouncers do. Their job is to apply muscle as and when told by the “suits.”

Of course, any “enemies of the world people” found insufficiently enthusiastic through modern brain-reading technologies are quietly but efficiently removed to euthanasia camps. A suggestion, indeed a proposition: Pope Francis I is the worst and most destructive Pope ever. Yes, there have been other problematical Popes, Boniface VIII for instance, or some of the Avignon Popes, certainly two or three during the Great Schism (e.g., Urban VI), not to mention (which I am nonetheless about to do) more than a few Renaissance Popes (Alexander VI comes foremost to mind here), and I’m not a big fan at all of John XXIII who called into being an ecumenical council which did not need to be called but which set in motion a series of events which did not need to be set in motion, but nonetheless this present pontiff is, arguably, in a league all by himself.
N.B., It is not a “league” which should be admired or condoned by anyone of sense and knowledge. Yes, here Pope Francis is indeed, and so unfortunately, in a league all his own. He may actually end up doing more harm to Western Civilization than any previous Pope (and many Popes have done great good for Western Civilization, for instance Gregory I and Urban II)———or almost anyone. Yes, his legacy could be this terrible.
Georg says
Strange Pope. He seems genuinely mentally ill. Perhaps there is something to this whole “mental illness” and Islamomania thing, after all.

No– he’s a modernist, Liberation Theology Jesuit. He was elected by the NWO through the Freemasonic Cardinals running the Curia. It would be time well spent if the current Pope put some effort into exploring common ground between Buddhist and Christian Traditions. The British Philosopher and Fabian Socialist Bertrand Russell judged these two religions to share a fundamentally contemplative focus while on the other hand he equated Islam as a legalistic ideology of domination reminiscent of Bolshevism.
Adrian Johnson says
As my mother used to say to my Dad when the children were present,

The current Pope is part of the red green axis, of communism and Islam. Neither of these idiotically beliefs, believe in the golden rule, truth, far play, they only believe in the end justify the means. The current Pope is far closer to Bolshevism then to the Christian church he represents. By repeating the lies the MSM , and many leaders of the Western world are proclaiming about Islam he is letting a cancer grow that will eat the Roman Catholic church from the inside out Today it is Christians in the Middle East, Jews in Israel, Buddhist in Asian, in the near future it will be Roman Catholics in North America and Europe. If he cannot condemn Islam, he can at least take the side of true victims of the Islamic terror ,and not side with the Islamic terrorist that are killing , raping oppressing Christians, Jews, Buddhist, Hinduism , and Atheist all over the world.
