Can’t We Talk About This? The Islamic Jihad Against Free Speech is a shocking new film and follow-up video series detailing the concerted effort by international organizations to compel the U.S. and other Western countries to curtail freedom of speech and criminalize criticism of Islam.
Featuring exclusive interviews with Pamela Geller, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Geert Wilders, Mark Steyn, Milo Yiannopolous, Raheem Kassam, Robert Spencer, Douglas Murray, Ezra Levant, Lars Vilks, Garland Muhammad cartoon contest winner Bosch Fawstin, and many other heroes of freedom, this web series will be the first ever to expose the war on free speech. It is certain to shock the American public and awaken many. These interviews reveal events at Garland and its aftermath that have never before been made public and demonstrate how far advanced the war on free speech really is.
“In this film, we’re setting the record straight about our Garland free speech event, at which we were not only targeted by Islamic jihadis but apparently by the FBI as well,” Pamela Geller wrote at Breitbart News. “But we’re doing much more as well: we’re telling the whole, as-yet-untold truth about the war on free speech.”

Not sure how “mainstream” the Canadian Free Press is, but here’s a positive review:

The Canada Free Press is clearly not mainstream; hence the favourable review. Go to their home page and look around a bit.

I watched the film. An excellent piece of work with a quick pace, switching back and forth fairly rapidly between the many interviewees: Mark Steyn, Hirsi Ali, Douglas Murray, Ezra Levant, Bat Ye’or, Robert Spencer, Pam Geller, Lars Vilks, Bosch Fawstin, Geert Wilders, Milo, and others. Anyone who wonders if free speech is worth caring about should listen closely to the part where Douglas Murray talks about the misguided view that free speech is only of value to a small group like writers and journalists. He shows in a simple way why it must matter to everyone. But the whole film is great and should be a wake up call.
Too many people are afraid to publicly criticize Islam — if everyone had courage, the risk of retaliation would be so widely shared that it would be much lower than it currently is: the reason Spencer, Ali, Murray, and others are under such threat is that there are too few of them. The fact that the risk must be shared should be the the chief message that goes with every criticism of Islam. When people realize that necessity, more will be public. If people don’t want to initiate it, they could first set a day when large numbers of people will all agree to be openly critical about Islam. Then all could do it at once. If there is no known organizer (no Molly Norris), there will be no one to focus on.

Eduardo, Just finished watching it. You took the words out of my ‘puter.
IMHO, this movie should be REQUIRED watching for every westerner (USA, EU, Aussie), gov’t official at every level, academia, media, etc.

Free speech and the enlightenment took us away from the middle ages and the tyranny of the church and religion. Focus on provability, facts and sharing of knowledge gave us the fruits of science and technology. As quickly as this developed though, as quick can it disappear, showing itself in the desparate state of affairs in third world muslim countries- Egypt, once very promising is falling back. I applaude you for this film and I will do what I can to give it publicity here!

That thinking is as naive as Molly Noriss’s. By numbers, there are so many, spread all over, that they, as a group, actually COULD turn on all who write and speak out. It takes institutions and governments to stand up and back us.
Years back, there was a disgusting article in the WSJ about a terrorist attack, in which the author quoted the attackers as crying the whitewashed translation “God is Great!” before attacking. Implying, as I recall, an evenhanded conflict between two parties, in which the “God-fearing” were made to seem morally superior.
Even then, I wrote my complaint to the editor anonymously, pointing out the dishonesty of translating what we all recognize as the call to violence and jihad. Of course, they don’t print anonymous letters, but they have never done that again.
Jim says
To clarify, there is value in speaking out, even anonymously at this point, because, as we get a sense that there are other like-minded people out there, it changes the zeitgeist, and then we get Trump, and many Republican governors, and legislators. But until we get to the point where our government shows the will to protect us, those who speak out better have security.

This why the internet must be on the forefront via websites such as this one to be the torchs of freedom.

The problem is not Islam.
The problem is not even Islamic Jihad.
The problem is the universal rise of political Infantilism in Western Democracies.
Islam hasn’t changed in 1600 years and it was not a problem until the West changed.

What? They were murderering us 1400 years ago..

So true. West helped the black beast rise from the ground.

Islam has killed around 275 million people, and the vast majority of those was after the fighting stopped. That is not a problem? Muslims are killing as many as they can in several SE Asia countries. It not a western democracy problem. It is the nature of Islam.

Something tells me this movie will be infuriating to watch. But that is precisely why it will be great

Are we the last Christians and Jews? The last time for non Muslims? Being named as infidels. We and our time being called heathens and paganish.
Imre Kertész. Nobel Prize Winner. His last book. ” Muslims flooding, ockupying, devastating Europe.”
Alarmed Pig Farmer says
Compare Imre Kertész to another Hungarian Jew, George Soros. The work Kertész contributed to us was good but went largely ignored. You can’t turn on a TV without seeing the latest harm done to freedom by the awful Soros. Enough said.
Alarmed Pig Farmer says
When near-president Al Gore’s fictive political documentary An Inconvenient Truth was being shown by teachers in high schools, a judge ruled that this could be done, but only if amended with warnings about its credibility.
There is of course zero chance Geller’s movie will be shown in high schools. After all, they’re owned and operated by the union sisters and brothers of the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, leftists all, and thereby Jihad sympathizers all. Ditto for showing it in theaters as was Al’s movie. So Geller has marketing problems. We all need it to gain widespread mindshare, not only because it tells the truth, but because of the urgency the threat it documents. In that sense, we all have marketing problems.
Jim says
Showing this video in high schools is a great idea. Even if the vast majority won’t do it, focus on the few that wil. Private high schools, most likely only Christian high schools. Doubtful even that Catholic schools would. First of all, kids are our future, and likely to be more passionate about freedom. Then there can be some spillover into the non-Christian-school peer population, and curiosity of the forbidden, which may broaden the audience in that age group. Even if it is only a tiny percentage of high schoolers that see this, it’s a start. We do what we can. High schoolers–great idea!
