The letter from the Muslim Students Association, the South Asian Students Association, and others says: “No student should ever have to feel afraid for their safety or have to wake up in the morning knowing that there are other students on this campus who hate them for an integral part of their identity and are willing and able to voice these hurtful ideas on a public platform.”
Of course, Graham doesn’t preach hate or call for any violence. He has been “repeatedly pointing out the relationship between Islam and terrorism.” The complaint against him follows the increasingly common Leftist practice of equating words with violence, as well as the oft-seen Leftist/Islamic supremacist practice of equating honest analysis of the motivating ideology of the jihad threat with “hate.” The Muslim students are claiming victimhood in an attempt to shut down speech they hate. This letter is a quintessentially fascist initiative.
“Amherst students demand protection from ‘hurtful’ ideas,” by Kyle Perisic, Campus Reform, October 10, 2017:
Students at Amherst College recently protested the mere presence of a conservative speaker, saying students shouldn’t have to “feel afraid for their safety.”
They found the speaker, Michael Graham, offensive and unqualified because he was fired from his talk radio show twelve years ago after repeatedly pointing out the relationship between Islam and terrorism.
“No student should ever have to…wake up in the morning knowing that there are other students…who hate them.”
Graham, notably, was only one of several speakers on a panel titled, “Why Military Action After 9/11 Was Justified and Saved American Lives,” which also included military veteran and State Representative John Velis; the state commander for the Department of Massachusetts Veterans of Foreign Wars, Eric Segundo; and Robert Roughsedge, an Army officer and commentator who served in Afghanistan in a NATO command.
In an open letter last week, members of the Muslim Students Association, the South Asian Students Association, and others say that they felt like their physical safety was at stake as a result of the Graham’s participation in the panel.
“No student should ever have to feel afraid for their safety or have to wake up in the morning knowing that there are other students on this campus who hate them for an integral part of their identity and are willing and able to voice these hurtful ideas on a public platform,” the letter declares.
Not only does the letter demand that the administration protect students from speakers with “hateful” opinions, it also declared that the Amherst College Republicans (ACR) should have consulted with other identity-based student groups like the Muslim Students Association and the South Asian Students Association before inviting speakers to campus.
Doing so “would have been conducive to finding a productive and appropriate speaker qualified to speak on this topic while still keeping the perspective that ACR wanted to share through this event,” the letter contends.
Additionally, the signatories assert that ACR should have written “a public response to the student body and the affected groups promptly after the event,” concluding that “an apology is warranted.”…

Yes… but there is never any apology offered for the hatred and threats of death to jews by any muslims or any muslim groups. Only that jews should apologize for the idea of zionism, which has been the idea for 3000yrs or so, without any compulsion against other ‘faiths’ in that regard during that time. But… the muslim idea indeed commands muslims to convert the world until there is only Islam, and that they never allow to be mentioned. And that’s what the answer should be to these lying whiners.
PRCS says
Not what the “answer” to them should be, but the demand (something they’re very familiar with) that they either defend or reject Islam’s supremacism, its hatred of others, and its barbaric practices and punishments no matter where on the planet they’re carried out.
Westman says
The Muslim students, whose MSA is the most strident and aggressive group on campus, plays the victimhood card.
They hate and reject the lifestyle of the regular students, yet, when they suspect some criticism of the religion upon which their lifestyle is predicated they demand its silence.
“No student should ever have to feel afraid for their safety or have to wake up in the morning knowing that there are other students on this campus who hate them for an integral part of their identity..” Typical Muslim non-logic. “We are suddenly in danger because we now know about the exact same danger that existed before the event”

Someone tell those Muslims that we are more civilized than what they used to. Westerners don’t usually get violent when they listen to a lecture because they can control themselves. We aren’t like muslims who go on killing sprees because of a book, movie, speech, cartoon, etc. etc.
Georg says
Great point. Not to mention, the only students I ever see getting physically assaulted for their religion are Jewish students, typically in Europe, and almost exclusively attacked by Muslims (plural, as tends to be their preferred method). It’s a defining characteristic of the day that in the land of The Holocaust Jews are targeted in school and beaten for their religion by a religious group some of whose cohorts are massacring the locals while the latter students fancy themselves and are thought of as victims.

Is the Qur’an the uncreated and immutable word of God? If so, how should a non-Muslim react to knowing that it contains — at 98:6–a description of all non-Muslims as being “the most vile of creatures”? How much more worried should they feel, as compared to Muslims who claim to be “afraid” not because of some remarks in Christiian or Jewish texts, but in a brief talk by a single speaker, one Michael Graham, who has the audacity to link the contents of the Qur’an and hadith to Muslim attitudes toward non-Muslims?
Must we recite again a half-dozen, dozen, nine dozen Qur’anic verses that call for waging Jihad warfare against the Infidels? Or those that call explicitly for “striking terror” in the hearts of the Infidels – isn’t that enough to do precisely that — id eat, to “strike terror” in the hearts of those Infidels. And don’t we have evidence, in the form of 32,000 attacks by Muslims since 9/11/2001, that these commandments in the Qur’an are taken to heart?
If one were Jewish, and knew what is in the Qur’an about Jews, knew too about the Muslim attacks on Jews in Europe, as at the HyperCacher market, or the Jewish school in Toulouse (where three small children were stabbed to death, along with the father of two of them), one would certainly have a right to be “scared.” If one were Christian, and knew what has happened to Christians in the Middle East, in North Africa, in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Indonesia, at the hands of Muslims, couldn’t one be legitimately “scared’? The world turns topsy-turvy if it is Muslims who claim, on the slenderest of reeds, that they are “scared” by those who, through both familiarity with Islamic texts and with the observable behavior and attitudes of Muslims, dare to mention both those texts, and the behavior they engender.

Their vile religious ideology encourages them to spew hatred and threats of conquest at everyone who refuses to submit to it, but so long as the kuffar are not allowed to “know” this — because it’s “Islamophobia” — and stick it right back in their faces they will get away with their nonsense.

Non-Muslims have more reason to be scared of Muslims than vice versa. Kaffirophobia is far more dangerous than Islamophobia. If Muslims were to abandon the aggressive, authoritarian, expansionist tenets of Muhammad and of the core Islamic texts, there would be nothing for Muslims to fear.

GOOD POINT! And what does Islam say about HATING KAFIRS ‘for the sake of Allah’?
Al Walaa wal Baraa is the ESSENTIAL COMPULSORY Islamic doctrine of HATRED directed towards dirty KUFAAR that ALL Muslims MUST follow:
Al Bughoud = Hatred of Kafirs ‘for the sake of Allah’ or Al Mu’adaat (hatred) is the opposite of Al Muwalaat (love of Muslims), it is:
– To Hate
– To keep distance from
– To be enemy to
– To desert
– To decline to help
– To disrespect
– To put down
– Not to ally with
– Not to support
Allah ordered Muslims to have Baraa (to be cleansed) from the kufaar and from kufr and shirk.
-Imam Abdul-Latif ibn Abdur-Rahman Rahimullah said, “It is not possible for someone to realize Tawheed and act upon it, and yet not be HOSTILE against the mushrikeen. So anyone who isn’t HOSTILE against the mushrikeen, then it cannot be said that he acts upon Tawheed nor that he realizes it.” [ad-Durar as-Saniyyah 8/167]
-“The doctrine of al Walaa wal Baraa is the REAL IMAGE for the actual practice of this faith.” – source “Al Walaa wal Baraa According to the Aqeedah of the Salaf”, by Sheikh Muhammad Saeed al Qatani, authoritative Saudi Sharia lawyer and imam at the Abu Bakr and Al Furqan Mosques in Mecca. – https://islamfuture.wordpress.com/2009/08/20/al-wala-wal-bara-according-to-the-aqeedah-of-the-salaf-parts-123/
-Shaykh Ahmad ibn ‘Atiq said:
“There isn’t in the Book of Allah the Exalted – after the issue concerning the obligation of tawheed and the forbiddance of its opposite – any issue which has as so many proofs, nor so clearly explained, than the issue of al-walaa’ and al-baraa’.”

Amherst College: Muslim students claim they’re “afraid,” demand apology after anti-jihad speaker appears
……………………………..
Ah, right–the idea that Muslim students are afraid of Michael Graham is utterly ludicrous.
They are only afraid that they word will get out about Islam.
No Fear says
Afraid? That is exactly how I feel after reading the Quran.
Hugh Fitzgerald says
The letter expressing “fear” was signed by only nine students, of whom at most four were Muslims. Amherst has 1,900 students. One can assume that between 50 and 100 of those students are Muslim, but only four signed the letter. Apparently a great many Muslim students were not “afraid’ because of anything Michael Graham said last month. Or perhaps they knew how hypocritical they would look, given what is said about Unbelievers in the Qur’an, that would strike fear into any sensible Unbeliever’s heart
Why shouldn’t those now being asked to apologize for that putatively scary presentation instead bring to the attention of students, faculty, and administrators at Amherst exactly what is written about Infidels in the Qur’an? That ought to open some eyes.

What about us, who get screamed at, being told how to dress, what to eat and how to eat, being afraid to go out at night, or to get mobbed or beaten up, taking our land, threatening us constantly to behead and kill us, mutilate your girls, marrying more then one wife, living of our tax money, taking our cities and land, raping, honour killing. You bit the hand that fed you. Who made it possible for you to study in the USA? Who pays for most of you, Who commands small children in public schools to pray on their mats in the morning, public schools, not muslim schools? Do you really think you can command us in everything? By your deeds and your lies you will kill yourselves.
You have shown yourselves who you are and who your prophet is. A real prophet can not be that way,

OK, everyone has a right to feel safe in a civilised society, and any kind of physical attack or threat of physical attack on the person or their property should be an offence against the law and be dealt with legally and properly. Everyone also has a right to hold positive or negative opinions about anything and anyone and should have a right to express these opinions so long as (a) they are not libellous or slanderous (i.e., they can be justified) and (b) they do not incite others to commit illegal acts against a person or their property. Thus, it is perfectly reasonable to hate someone for whatever reason in the same way that no-one would argue against anyone loving/admiring someone for whatever reason; and just as no-one would argue against someone expressing their admiration for someone else, so it should be equally acceptable for someone to express their disdain, even hate, for someone else – and the reasons for holding such opinions would be immaterial.
Now, it is very NICE to know that one is admired and that would be fortunate; and conversely, it is NOT very nice to know that one is disliked or hated, and that would indeed be unfortunate. But, as long as it is only a matter of holding or expressing opinions, that is as far as it goes and it’s simply a fact of life that one has to learn to accept if one is going to respect the rights of others to hold and voice their own opinions. One would have thought that any reasonably intelligent, reasonably mature adult would have taken this simple concept on board. If, however, one is NOT a reasonably mature, intelligent adult but a stupid, spoilt brat with king-sized delusion of egocentric entitlement, one might not quite understand that other human beings exist in this universe apart from oneself, and that they supposed to have rights similar to oneself, which might not always include sharing one’s own opinions or holding one in high regard. In which case, in a reasonable world, one has two options:- (a) grow up, or (b) shut up. Will someone please suggest that to the pathetic, infantile idiots who wrote this letter? Because if they seriously think that they can trample on other people’s rights they might find that other people come back to trample on THEM.

Crime is defined as intentionally attacking thereby innocent others first.
“Crime prevention” is attacking thereby innocent other people first, too.
Since libertines don’t trust them selves to abide by any agreements,
they also won’t trust anyone else to, either, and so try to impose force.
There’s a difference between trying to avoid riskily retaliating against criminal attacks, because one can’t take the immediate pressure and doesn’t want to be enslaved to the criminals’ chosen time-tables and schedules, by choosing to then virtue signal about how tolerant one is by demanding the crooks be pitied as fellow victims instead, and ALWAYS trying to force others to do so, and in all future situational circumstances as well. Because the latter approach only endorses crime and criminals while extorting all innocent other people to Submit, too!
