Iran preparing to abandon nuke deal, claims U.S. has violated it 18 times

Oct 26, 2017 12:35 pm By Robert Spencer

“‘The recent report is specifically about the Americans’ efforts to derail the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action], so much so that the foreign ministry has delineated 18 blatant cases of breach of the agreement made by U.S.,’ Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, an Iranian member of parliament, told the country’s state-controlled media organs on Tuesday.”

Seeing that Trump is on the way to abandoning this disastrous deal, the Iranians are preparing to say, “You can’t fire me, I quit!”

Find out exactly how bad the Iran nuclear deal really is in my book The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Iran.

“Iran Paving Way to Abandon Nuclear Deal, Fortify Missile Program,” by Adam Kredo, Washington Free Beacon, October 25, 2017:

Iran has taken steps in recent days to file what it claims are 18 instances in which America violated the landmark nuclear agreement, a move that could set the stage for Tehran to abandon the deal and lay blame on the Trump administration, according to regional reports and sources familiar with the matter.

On the heels of an effort by the Trump administration to tighten the nuclear accord while still upholding U.S. commitments under it, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has submitted to European Union leaders a plethora of information recounting what it claims are 18 separate violations of the deal by the United States, according to Iran’s state-controlled media.

The latest move is said to be part of an effort by Iran to abandon the nuclear agreement and save face by blaming the United States for its decision, according to national security insiders closely tracking the situation.

As the Trump administration makes moves to sanction Iran for its ballistic missile program and regional support of terrorism, Iran is increasingly frustrated with the United States’ aggressive stance, which is being spearheaded by President Donald Trump and his congressional allies.

Iran’s foreign ministry submitted a report to the country’s Parliament outlining what it claims are at least 18 instances of the United States violating the agreement. The accusations come just days after Trump decertified Iranian compliance with the nuclear deal.

“The recent report is specifically about the Americans’ efforts to derail the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action], so much so that the foreign ministry has delineated 18 blatant cases of breach of the agreement made by U.S.,” Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, an Iranian member of parliament, told the country’s state-controlled media organs on Tuesday.

Iran’s foreign ministry is said to have forwarded this information to Federica Mogherini, the EU’s high representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, one of the international organizations monitoring compliance with the agreement.

“The foreign ministry has forwarded ten letters to Ms. Mogherini in this regard, and the base of the report is on the continuation of sanction-era situation in areas of maritime transportation, oil and gas export, and the return of the revenues,” according to Falahatpisheh.

While the Trump administration has withheld from commenting on Iran’s increasingly aggressive rhetoric, officials told the Washington Free Beacon that the United States continues to uphold its commitments under the deal and will continue to do so.

“I’m not going to comment on every statement by an Iranian official,” a State Department official told the Free Beacon after reviewing Iran’s accusations.  “The United States continues to meet its commitments under the JCPOA and will hold Iran strictly accountable for its commitments.”

One veteran congressional adviser who has helped craft Iran policy during the last two administrations told the Free Beacon the Islamic Republic’s latest moves are meant to distract from its widespread cheating on the nuclear accord.

“Iran was never going to stay in the deal the full time,” the source said. “They were going to cheat as much as they could, pocket as much as they could, and then bail as soon as anyone tried to enforce the deal.”…

So what if the deals is off. The money already exchanged hands and was spent on funding military and terror groups. Are they gonna be forced to give the money back? Because if not, it doesn’t matter either way — Iran won. Thanks Obama!

    There never was a ‘deal’.
There was a toothless and unenforceable sellout of US interests by B Hussein Obama, marketed as a ‘deal’.

I do not understand this turn of events. My beloved Rabbi, who is nationally known as a leader of the Reform Movement, lauded the Iran Deal as a key step toward peace and bulwark against nuclear terrorism. After Rosh Hashanah Morning Services in 2015, we had a joyous luncheon: essentially all the brilliant members of our Congregation celebrated President Obama’s insight and Sec. Kerry’s diligence.

My Rabbi was often on conference calls with the White House from 2009-2016 and once even met the renowned National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes! We thought that Pres. Obama and Sec. Kerry might even share the Nobel Peace Prize with their Iranian interlocutor. What could President Trump have done in such a short time in office to corrupt this historic accomplishment?

It is impossible to believe that our gifted Rabbi and our prestigious Congregation could have been wrong. It must be Trump.

From what I have seen up close and in person, he is probably telling the truth regarding the incredible and suicidal views and conduct of people directly listed as targets for 1400 years. “Whistling past the graveyard” in Frankl’s “delusion of reprieve” while getting ready for that one last train ride. How can a community so gifted and brilliant also be so utterly clueless?

GI, I certainly appreciate your superior observation and experience. If Moshe is making things up; I most sincerely assure you and anyone else who cares that I am not. What I have seen and heard disappoints me, and would break the hearts of many I have known who are no longer living. Always with greatest respect to you.

Moshe, I think you are missing your calling if you are not a stand up comic. You have accurately described the mental gyrations people go through to support unsupportable beliefs. I still think you would do well to get an Edgar Bergen/Charlie McCarthy act going. That I would pay to see.

The Iranians have drawn a “weak hand,” but are bluffing nevertheless. I think they suppose that if they give the U.S.A. a dose of Iranian “reverse salesmanship,” we will rush to fill the vacuum and offer some goodies if they’ll just stay in the deal “they made” that Obama was thrilled to accept.
The problem with Iranian deception is they sell President Trump short, he is definitely not Obama, and I’m thankful he is not. He is not about to let Iran “off the hook.” Iran will be receiving surprises and those will not be unmarked U.S. and Euro currency, gift wrapped, and delivered in the wee hours of the night by a private transport aircraft. a la Obama. The Ayatolla probably believes that the U.S.A. will beg Iran to return to the table, and it will discover that Trump is a far different U.S. President than a weak Obama.

Bush and Obama had many opportunities to give IDF-AF a green light to go on this. However, they needed clearance to fly over Iraqi airspace, which we controlled. The IDF-AF aircraft needed to do in-flight refueling to make the round trip, probably on the way back over Iraq. Both globalist presidents would not give Netanyahu the OK to go.

        Yes!
It is the inevitable solution to this mess. And the more it is delayed, the more it will cost (expense, difficulty, possible lives lost, etc.). If one has a dirty job to do and one knows it must be done then it should be done as soon as possible.

“…the [Iran] foreign ministry has delineated 18 blatant cases of breach of the agreement made by U.S.”

May we know how they arrived at this figure? That “deal” was supposed to put restrictions on Iran, not the US, and thus how America could violate it, and 18 times no less? Remember that it was calculated by “geniuses” of ruthless theocratic regime which forbade using simplest addition sign in arithmetic since it resembles the cross and the cross is verboten in Islamic Republic!

Iran preparing to abandon nuke deal, claims U.S. has violated it 18 times
    ………………..

Iran has got their money and is already crowing over how this nuke deal has enabled them. Now they want to ditch it, so they can double down–all while blaming the “Great Satan”.

The sickest thing is that there are some foolish Westerners who will believe this–and just blame Trump.

Does Iran really want Nukes and nuclear capable missiles? I say let them have as many as needed. However, MOABS or the latest version may be cleaner. 🙂

    • Frank Anderson says

      Oct 28, 2017 at 1:50 am

Guy, I believe if you do some research you will find out the MOAB contains a liquid under pressure that when the case is ruptured quickly evaporates and mixes with air, instead of conventional explosive which contains its own oxygen. I have read somewhere, possibly at the Air Force Weapons Museum, that this gives something like 10-50 times more energy released than the same amount of, for example, TNT. So a 10 ton MOAB is more or less equivalent to a 100 ton TNT or other explosive device. “Here’s to bigger bombs, better bombs, more bombs. . .” (Dr. Strangelove?/Seven Days in May?/Fail Safe?)
