French journalist Caroline Fourest has published a book-length study of Tariq Ramadan’s sly duplicity, Brother Tariq: The Doublespeak of Tariq Ramadan. Fourest concludes that this much-lionized putative Muslim Martin Luther is actually anything but a reformer: in reality, Ramadan is “remaining scrupulously faithful to the strategy mapped out by his grandfather, a strategy of advance stage by stage” toward the imposition of Islamic law in the West.
Ramadan, she explains, in his public lectures and writings invests words like “law” and “democracy” with subtle and carefully crafted new definitions, permitting him to engage in “an apparently inoffensive discourse while remaining faithful to an eminently Islamist message and without having to lie overtly — at least not in his eyes.” Ramadan, she said, “may have an influence on young Islamists and constitute a factor of incitement that could lead them to join the partisans of violence.”
And now she reveals that Ramadan has at least four other victims besides Henda Ayari. “A request for religious advice turned into a compulsive sexual relationship, sometimes consented to, often violent and very humiliating, before ending in threats.”
Fourest had evidence. “I presented it to a judge. But Tariq Ramadan scared him too much…. I am well-placed to know the violence of the networks of the Muslim Brotherhood when one stands up to ‘brother Tariq.'”
Remember Muhammad’s old adage: “war is deceit.”
“The double life of Tariq Ramadan,” translated from “La double vie de Tariq Ramadan,” by Caroline Fourest, Marianne, October 27, 2017:
It took me years to demonstrate Tariq Ramadan’s double talk.
Since 2009, I knew that he also led a double life, as opposed to his many sermons on the “Islamic conception of sexuality.” Yet I could not write it. The most serious facts could not be revealed without solid evidence, without a victim filing a complaint. Others, though revealing a pathology as hypocritical as misogynistic, were his private life. I had enough evidence to demonstrate the duplicity of Tariq Ramadan not to go on this ground. But I alerted confreres and even lieutenants of Ramadan. Nothing was happening.
The preacher’s groupies continued to quote him as a reminder that sex outside marriage was haram . I smiled as I listened to his Puritan sermons about temptation and the duty of chastity. Like this tape on “the great sins”, where he gets carried away against men daring to swim in mixed pools: “You go there and inevitably it attracts you! In this sermon, he urges his flock to “militate” for “places where it is healthy,” meaning single-sex pools. The tone of these tapes is not that of Tariq Ramadan-policed television sets, but that of a preacher obsessed with sexuality. Which always betrays a more personal neurosis.
When I take stock of all the fundamentalist preachers, Christian or Islamist I have ever investigated, I do not think I have ever come across a man who has a balanced sex life, or simply complies with what he says. he preached. The world is full of homophobic televangelists with homosexual relations, pedophile priests and Islamist sex predators.
In the case of Tariq Ramadan, it seems that we are dealing with a behavior worthy of Harvey Weinstein, perhaps more violent. If I write this sentence today, when it could cost me the first trial of the principal concerned, it is because a woman, Henda Ayari, had the courage to file a complaint for rape, sexual assault, harassment and bullying. Of course, Tariq Ramadan denies it all and will attack her. On social networks, one of his loyal lieutenants already sees an “international Zionist” plot. His fans accuse the victim, a repentant Salafist, of lying and wanting to advertise (enviable as everyone knows). I did not meet her. But what I can testify to is that her story, precise and terrifying, is very similar to that of four other women I met.
It was in 2009, on the eve of my famous debate with Tariq Ramadan at Frédéric Taddeï. The press had announced it. A first woman contacted me to tell me what she had experienced. I was suspicious. A false testimony to push me to making an error? With Tariq Ramadan, you always have to expect everything. At first, I did not answer. His writings became precise. To be clear, I ended up seeing her. She showed me text messages and edifying pictures. She also put me in touch with other girls. All had lived about the same story. A request for religious advice turned into a compulsive sexual relationship, sometimes consented to, often violent and very humiliating, before ending in threats. One of them had undergone treatment that could be the subject of a complaint. I presented it to a judge. But Tariq Ramadan scared him too much. She felt as if she was being stalked. She was clearly too fragile to persevere. My conscience refused to push her onto a path which I feared would not come out well for her. I am well-placed to know the violence of the networks of the Muslim Brotherhood when one stands up to “brother Tariq.” I hear some of the lesson-givers joking about “everyone knew and did not say anything.” They are far from imagining the tornado that would have fallen on this young woman if she had dared to break the omerta at the time. Now that Henda Ayari has had this courage, it’s different. My duty is to invite all those who can to testify. In the press or at his trial. To avoid abandoning her, alone, facing the pack.

Readers of Jihad Watch already understand and know EXACTLY what Muslim men (all Muslim men) think of the females of the human species: females are only a small step up the ladder of evolution than domestic animals
After all, Muslim men must emulate their ‘perfect man’ Muhammad bin abd Allah the Pathological liar, Mass murderer, Misogynist, Hatemongering, Warmongering, Duplicitous, Hypocritical, Child rapist, Predator upon women, Vile and Ungodly crerature
These are also the characteristics of the most PERFECT Muslims on Earth today: Isis, BokoHaram, Hamas, al Shabab and 1000 more such DEPRAVED Muslim terrorist entities
Tariq Ramadan is among the best STEALTH Jihad Muslims possible; one who PRETENDS (using Taqiyah) to be part and parcel of Western of Western society when in reality he is stuck like ALL Sharia compliant Muslims in the Time Warp of Muhammad’s 7th century Arabia
Hopefully, just like with Harvey Weinstein, enough numbers of his VICTIMS will reveal the truth about him

Agree. Tariq Ramadan imitates Mohammed. Muslim women should WAKE UP and realize that Mohammed was an arch-misogynist. Women have nothing good to expect from Islam.

If Muslim women are only slightly higher on the evolutionary ladder than domestic animals, the next logical step is that Muslim men are on a par with wild, untamed, and rapid predatory animals led by the most vile instincts. Why the U.S. government continues to import these creatures and allows them to live among us is beyond the scope of reason.

Muslim Martin Luther? Luther was a godly man, this clown is evil, like all Mud-slimes.
Speaking of Luther , this coming Tuesday we Protestants celebrate the 500th aniversity of the Reformation, which opened the World’s eyes to the Gospel of Grace. Not some man made “works salvation” peddled by the Catholic church of the time to collect funds for building of The Vatican.

You are confirming Fulton’ saying, the man was ahead of his time. Catholic Church does NOT teach that!. You are arguing against a supposedly Catholic belief, but it is a Catholic belief of his own making – not one that the Catholic Church actually teaches or that Catholic actually believe.
Works do NOT justify us. God’s grace does that. However, if we do not respond to God’s grace, with faith and works, then we can indeed lose our justification. Faith and works help us to hold on to what God has already given us. If we lose our faith, or if we do not do the works that God has prepared for us – we do not do the will of God for our lives – then we can lose the gift of justification…the gift of salvation…that God has given us through Baptism. In Catholicism, the faithful are urged to do good works for the love of God. If one does good works for any reason other than the love of God, then the good work is essentially useless, in spiritual terms. We are urged to continually grow in love of God, by opening our hearts up to more and more of God’s grace through prayer, reception of the sacraments, and good works. In Catholicism, as in the Bible, faith alone is indeed insufficient (Jms 2:24). In Catholicism, as in the Bible, works alone are indeed insufficient (Hbr 11:6). What counts is faith working through love (Gal 5:6) and all by the grace of God (Titus 3:7)
I am NOT going to Mass to listen a good choir, prosperity gospel, to see who is going to be there, social gathering, or feel good, I am going to mass to Thank God for the promise of salvation.

Is the Bible the upholder/pillar and foundation/ground of the truth for Christians? I’ll answer it for you: NO, it is NOT!
The Bible itself tells us that the church is the pillar and ground of the truth (1Tim 3:15). Which church is that?
Lydia says
Nope.
History speaks for itself, as do the official vatican documents, and what you see going on with the catholic church. Our eyes deceive us not.
If you read the Bible you will see that most of catholicism is contradicted by the Word of God. There are a few things like the Trinity, virgin birth, etc. that are good and true but that’s it.
MFritz says
The problem with Roman-Catholicism will always be the “Roman” part. During its “hippie phase” christianity’s strongest asset was equality in the treatment of the sexes and peaceful coexistance with other religions. There also was no “missionary” statement in Jesus’ preaching.
With christianity becoming the Roman state religion it underwent a number of changes to be “acceptable” for the Roman elites. So they integrated sexism against women, the christian mission and, of cause, all of the saints and martyrs since this would – easily – replace the pantheon of gods the Romans were used to worship before. (Check out the background of Santeria which did the same thing to become “integratable” into the strict, anti-pagan society of the Spanish colonies.)
The increased role of the “virgin” Mary, mother of Jesus, was to appease the OTHER half of the population, the women. Which is very ironic all in itself as ONLY a female virgin could represent a “pure” status for Romans.
And I don’t have to say anything about the christian mission and what it did to a lot of people over the centuries. There is a very good reason why the church isn’t very highly regarded by some people.
The only really USEFUL thing that came out of the “Romanisation” was the remaining strict split between matters of world and matters of religion in christianity. Which didn’t mean a lot as MANY popes etc. would wage war, be involved with politics and even become rulers all by themselves. But christians were always AWARE of the split. And critics would later use it as a lever for change in the church and religion.
eduardo odraude says
MFritz,
You are mistaken in thinking the split between “matters of the world and matters of religion” came from “Romanization.” It came from the New Testament, where JC is reported to have said such things as “My kingdom is not of this world,” and “Give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”
gravenimage says
This is meant ironically, since a lot of gullible Infidels have swallowed the tripe about Ramadan being a “reformer”.
Jayell says
Right. There can be no such thing as an ‘islamic reformer’ since islam does not allow reform. It’s just a cheap con-trick by devious Islamic charlatans to foist the themselves on a gullible western public. Which just about sums all Muslims who have been allowed any undeserved prominence in the West.
mortimer says
To update or modernize Islam is to say that it is not eternal.
What is ‘perfect, complete and eternal’ cannot be improved, completed or updated.
Islam was ‘completely perfect’ in the year Mohammed died and cannot be changed or it immediately becomes imperfect. The Koran says it is complete.
By adding the Golden Rule to the Koran (which was left out), Islam is accused of being non-eternal, but only for a time in the middle ages. That would mean that Islam’s claim of completeness for all time is false and therefore adding to Islam, subtracting from Islam or twisting Islam is a refutation of the truth of Islam. If a Muslims thinks Islam was not perfect as in the year of Mohammed’s death and that it is not perfect today, then he has left Islam.

Luther may have been godly until he, like Muhammad, invited the Jews to convert to his particular religion.
When they said no, he, like Muhammad was furious and thence onward pushed for them to be persecuted and murdered.
His temper may be seen in the antiSemitic treatise he wrote:On the Jews and Their Lies is a 65,000-word anti-semitic treatise written in 1543 by the German Reformation leader Martin Luther. (wikipedia)
He propagandised viciously against Jews. He was no hero.
carpediadem says
The prevailing view[32] among historians is that Luther’s anti-Jewish rhetoric contributed significantly to the development of antisemitism in Germany,[33] and in the 1930s and 1940s provided an ideal foundation for the Nazi Party’s attacks on Jews.[34] Reinhold Lewin writes that “whoever wrote against the Jews for whatever reason believed he had the right to justify himself by triumphantly referring to Luther.” According to Michael, just about every anti-Jewish book printed in the Third Reich contained references to and quotations from Luther. Diarmaid MacCulloch argues that Luther’s 1543 pamphlet On the Jews and Their Lies was a “blueprint” for the Kristallnacht.[35] Shortly after the Kristallnacht, Martin Sasse, Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thuringia, published a compendium of Martin Luther’s writings ; Sasse “applauded the burning of the synagogues” and the coincidence of the day, writing in the introduction, “On November 10, 1938, on Luther’s birthday, the synagogues are burning in Germany.” The German people, he urged, ought to heed these words “of the greatest anti-Semite of his time, the warner of his people against the Jews.”[36]
Christopher J. Probst, in his book Demonizing the Jews: Luther and the Protestant Church in Nazi Germany (2012), shows that a large number of German Lutheran clergy and theologians during the Nazi Third Reich used Luther’s hostile publications towards the Jews and their Jewish religion to justify at least in part the anti-Semitic policies of the National Socialists.[37] Published In 1940, Heinrich Himmler wrote admiringly of Luther’s writings and sermons on the Jews.[38] The city of Nuremberg presented a first edition of On the Jews and their Lies to Julius Streicher, editor of the Nazi newspaper Der Stürmer, on his birthday in 1937; the newspaper described it as the most radically antisemitic tract ever published.[39] It was publicly exhibited in a glass case at the Nuremberg rallies and quoted in a 54-page explanation of the Aryan Law by Dr. E.H. Schulz and Dr. R. Frercks.[40] On December 17, 1941, seven Lutheran regional church confederations issued a statement agreeing with the policy of forcing Jews to wear the yellow badge, “since after his bitter experience Luther had [strongly] suggested preventive measures against the Jews and their expulsion from German territory.”
Michael states “Luther wrote of the Jews as if they were a race that could not truly convert to Christianity. Indeed, like so many Christian writers before him, Luther, by making the Jews the devil’s people, put them beyond conversion.” He notes that in a sermon of September 25, 1539, “Luther tried to demonstrate through several examples that individual Jews could not convert permanently, and in several passages of The Jews and Their Lies, Luther appeared to reject the possibility that the Jews would or could convert.”[41]
Franklin Sherman, editor of volume 47 of the American Edition of Luther’s Works in which On the Jews and Their Lies appears,[42] responds to the claim that “Luther’s antipathy towards the Jews was religious rather than racial in nature,” Luther’s writings against the Jews, he explains, are not “merely a set of cool, calm and collected theological judgments. His writings are full of rage, and indeed hatred, against an identifiable human group, not just against a religious point of view; it is against that group that his action proposals are directed.” Sherman argues that Luther “cannot be distanced completely from modern antisemites”. Regarding Luther’s treatise, On the Jews and Their Lies, the German philosopher Karl Jaspers wrote: “There you already have the whole Nazi program”.[43]

His Jewhate was enacted by Nazis. No, not a hero.
eduardo odraude says
It’s true that Luther was anti-Semitic. Despite that stain on the beginnings of Protestantism — and remember that today some of the strongest supporters of Israel and Jews are Protestant evangelicals — Protestantism made some necessary correctives to problems in Catholicism. But on the whole I don’t take sides between the two. Perhaps each has strengths and weaknesses balanced by the other. Christ may be the way, the truth, and the life. But the churches are only human. No doubt they are needed, but they should not be confused with what they are supposed to serve.

Tariq takes advantage of certain threads within French culture. France has many great thinkers, but among them are some who have been brilliant at emphasizing and overemphasizing the ambiguous and paradoxical aspects of reality. Tariq exploits that aspect of French thought in order to mislead and obfuscate while appearing sophisticated, at least to those who can’t tell the difference between BS and genuine if sometimes misguided philosophical strivings.
