The jihad is global in scope and extent, as well as in its motivating ideology and goal.
“Three Green Berets killed, two wounded in Niger ambush,” by Lucas Tomlinson, Fox News, October 4, 2017:
Three U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers were killed and two others were wounded Wednesday in an ambush in the west African country of Niger.
U.S. Africa Command confirmed that a joint patrol of Green Berets and Nigerien soldiers was attacked in the southwestern part of Niger, near the border with Mali. Officials told Fox News that between eight and 10 troops were part of the patrol.
Officials told the Associated Press that the commandos were likely attacked by Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
The officials added that the two wounded U.S. soldiers were taken to Niamey, the capital, and are in stable condition….

WTF are U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers doing in Niger?

Same question!

Q: WTF are U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers doing in Niger?
A: Making imperialist mischief on the pretext of the “War on Terrorism”; generating revenues for the MIC; obeying orders conducive to protecting the careers of the soldiers and their commanders; and avoiding the tactical difficulties and political complications of destroying mujahids and their leftist allies in the homeland.

TL has said before that he *hates* Western military–largely because they stood against Hitler during WWII.
Also, not his use of the term “making mischief” by fighting against Jihadists–exactly the term used by pious Muslims.
Hummer says
My first thought exactly.

Niger: Islamic jihadis ambush Green Berets, killing three, wounding two
………………..
No where is safe from Jihad.
paul marchand says
Right, what are we doing with fine American ground troops in Nigeria.
Maybe hitting the jihadists with drones and smart bombs from jets at unreachable heights.
Turtler says
A: It’s Niger, Not Nigeria. Niger / = / Nigeria.
and
B: Probably hunting down what is left of AQIM after it fled from Northern Mali a couple years ago.
Drones and smart bombs are not that smart. And there are some targets they have no real way to get at.
Matthieu Baudin says
Special Forces from around the world are an important part of the fight to downgrade and eliminate fanatical violent Jihad organisations. Countries like Niger need the training from foreign elite forces of the U.S., France, U.K., Russia and several other nations. It’s a real body blow to an elite unit to lose 3 men in one hit but the friends and families of these combatants can be very proud of their contribution and the sacrifice of their lives.
James Stamulis says
Amen to that Matthieu.

Another thanks to Honest Ali.
More evidence that the MSM is there to keep us distracted, rather than informed. If CNN’s website ran a box informing us of our troops around the world instead of armchair quarterbacking everything that displeases them bout Trump, we wouldn’t be surprised that we have Americans in Niger. Though, honestly, I rarely glance at CNN anymore, so they could have such a section. I check RT’s site (where I know the news can be biased) and the anti-jihad sites for world — and U.S. — information that I can’t expect to get on the MSM.

If the propaganda is that “We have to fight them THERE so that they don’t come HERE”…that hasn’t worked out. And on top of that, WHY the heck would we risk bringing ANY IslamoNazis HERE?
Bob says
Patriotliz – seemingly the entire western world…or, at least their PC-bound polticos!1

Now I would find out whether the Niger troops who worked along with these brave GBs betrayed them in any manner? We have to find out whether some of these Niger troops were radicalized??
Voytek Gagalka says
What they are doing in Niger? Ah, perhaps altruistically helping the backward country to prove that we are not racist which would mistake the name of their country with some illiterate misspelling suggesting use of N-word.
