The report to which I linked earlier focuses on Trump keeping the Iranian deal that he repeatedly denounced. However, this one says: “Trump promised to fully cancel the deal if Congress and U.S. allies did not allay his concerns about the agreement.”
Congress and U.S. allies will not allay his concerns about the agreement. So we can only hope this deal is on its way out.
Get the full details of exactly how bad the Iran deal is, and of how Iran aids al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Hamas and more, in my book The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Iran.
“Trump on Iran Decision: ‘Radical Regime’ has Spread ‘Death, Destruction and Chaos’ Around Globe,” by David Rutz, Washington Free Beacon, October 13, 2017:
President Donald Trump on Friday laid out Iran’s long history of terror sponsorship and destabilizing behavior in a speech announcing he would not certify the nuclear deal, calling the country a “radical regime” that has spread “death” around the world.
“Iran is under the control of a fanatical regime that seized power in 1979 and forced a proud people to submit to its extremist rule,” Trump said. “This radical regime has raided the wealth of one of the world’s oldest and most vibrant nations, and spread death, destruction and chaos all around the globe.”
Trump delved into various illicit acts by Iran and its sponsorship of past terrorist acts that killed American soldiers and civilians.
“The Iranian dictatorship’s aggression continues to this day,” he said. “The regime remains the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and provides assistance to al Qaeda, the Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas and other terrorist networks. It develops, deploys and proliferates missiles that threaten troops and their allies. It harasses american [sic] ships and threatens freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf and in the Red Sea. It imprisons Americans on false charges. It launches cyber attacks against our critical infrastructure, financial system and military.”
“The United States is far from the only target of the Iranian dictatorship’s long campaign of bloodshed. The regime violently suppresses its own citizens. It shot unarmed student protesters in the street during the Green Revolution. This regime has fueled sectarian violence in Iraq and vicious civil wars in Yemen and Syria.”
As expected, Trump announced that his administration would not re-certify the nuclear deal and punted the issue to Congress. Congress must now decide whether to reimpose a large set of nuclear sanctions that were lifted as part of the agreement.
“Based on what I put forward, I am announcing that we cannot, and will not make this certification,” Trump said.
Trump promised to fully cancel the deal if Congress and U.S. allies did not allay his concerns about the agreement….

Because Oil Money buys things. Tanks, aircraft, radar installations, giant SUV’s, heavy construction equipment, buildings, hospitals, roads, airports, harbors, and ships. Since the Saudi’s are allergic to work, most of the real work of making, maintaining, and operating things is done by foreign workers. This includes nannies and drivers and maids.
Not only do we sell things, we sell services to them. Need a radar installation to make sure the Iranians, Syrians, or Yemenis are not trying to bomb them, or to simply have a civilian air control system? Foreign contractors install, operate, and maintain the system. New tanks? We send people there to train them on running and maintaining them. Get the picture?
If Trump even hints at clamping down on the KSA, he will be deluged by complaints from congress due to the loss of business to certain districts, the lobbyists will run wild in DC, foreign ministers and ambassadors will demand meetings, and he will be told about how wonderful the KSA is as a partner against terrorism.
There are third world countries like the Philippines, Thailand, Pakistan, and Bangladesh whose economies would most likely collapse without the cash remittances sent home by the people from those countries send everything from maids to doctors to engineers to the KSA to run that place.

Again is illustrated that President Trump, even with his faults, is still the single greatest and most powerful guarantor of the preservation of free societies throughout the world. Anyone disagreeing with me, go ahead and name someone superior to Trump in this respect.
The West right now is led, for the most part, by a pack of willfully clueless cowards. There are signs of hope in Eastern Europe to be sure but Western Europe, an eternally always-getting-it wrong Russia, and a Canada now led by a total fool, et al., does not inspire confidence in the preservation of the single greatest civilization of all time, Western Civilization, which now, sadly, is in self-destructive mode due to idiocies like multiculturalism, political correctness, and an insane immigration policy.
The Age of Nonsense does indeed march on and the likes of May, Macron, Pope Francis, Trudeau, Putin—–sadly, it’s a long list—-does not inspire confidence. So, thank God for President Trump who is fighting a rear-guard action against the destruction of Western Civilization, the very civilization that pioneered more human rights than any other civilization in history, easily so, and anyone denying this is an ignoramus or worse.

Trump says: “Iran spreads death around the globe”. Can he say the same about Saudi Arabia? NO.
which is why Islam and Muslims keep growing stronger and stronger in the US. If you don’t believe me just have a random look at the headlines of Jihad Watch.
With all respect, people here ( readers of JW) tend to mix between fighting against Islam and being pro Israel . The two are NOT the same. This decision is meant to help Israel, not to help the fight against Islam. Remember: ISAREL IS NOT FIGHTING AGAINST ISLAM, if anything its supports it. In fact, Israel itself might fall to Islam in one generation, unless they do something substantial.
I visited Haifa last month and the signs of rising Islam are everywhere. I won’t be around by then but you might remember my words. With current policies, Israel, like Europe and the US, might fall from within.
Saudi Arabia is the enemy number one, other countries follow but Iran might be number ten.
Guy Forester says
Salim, my post above in reply to Alan partly explains what is happening. Regarding Israel, they are suffering from the same problems we are. Even Ariel Sharon, who was quite an aggressive tank unit commander in many battles, rolled over for the Palestinians. Numerous “Jewish” groups in Europe, the US, and Israel support the Palestinians and are pushing the Boycott and Divest nonsense to attack Israel economically. As bad as Islam is, the leftists/progressives are doing every bit as much damage as the guys with knives, guns, and trucks.
Jack Diamond says
So, doing something about “death to America” Iran and the Iranian nuclear project is not in our interest, it is only in Israel’s interest and being pro-Israel is now a waste of time? Why, because it might benefit the Saudis if we confront Iran?
Iran is hardly no.10. Yes, we should be confronting the Saudis and Qatar (which has surpassed the Saudis in promoting jihad) and the UAE and Pakistan and Sudan and the entire OIC with similar speeches and actions, but who at JW has any illusions about Saudi Arabia, who have yet to be paid back for 9/11? (but then Iran was involved in 9/11 also).
Israel is not fighting Islam? Well, who is? Not the USA. Nobody is fighting “Islam” and that is the problem. Israel may not be fighting against Islam but Islam is fighting against Israel. The jihad against Israel is the same as the jihad against all the rest of us. The existence of a Jewish State in Israel represents the liberation of a people from dhimmitude and slavery, from the legacy of Islam, and that is intolerable to the Muslims.
The delegitimizing of Israel by the Muslims (and the central importance of such to the OIC) is (in the bigger picture) central to Islam’s replacement theology. Replacement of the Bible, replacement of the Jewish and Christian roots of the Bible, appropriation of it’s holy figures and holy places. The replacement of Judaism and Christianity entire, by Islam. Replacement of the Jewish roots of Christianity by “Christlam”. The reinvention of the history and the very meaning of the West begins with delegitimizing the right of Israel to exist. So, we are pro-Israel.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is (fittingly) becoming more and more like Israel, surrounded by enemies, increasingly isolated, and threatened from within and without. It’s not mutually exclusive to welcome that development and confront the miserable regime in Tehran, too.
salim says
Jack Diamond, can you explain how Iran was involved in 9/11?
Jack Diamond says
In the interests of brevity, I’ll give you to Robert Spencer.
But I’d remind you the links between al Qaeda and Hizballah and Iran go back decades. Imad Mughniyeh, the late head of the military wing of Hizballah and the world’s most notorious terrorist before bin Laden, started out in Yasser Arafat’s Force 17. It was the PLO in Lebanon who trained Mugniyeh in bomb-making, and when Arafat left in 1982, Mughniyeh began working with the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who reported directly to the Iranian Ambassador in Damascus (the very same who ordered the US Marine barracks bombing in 1983).
Mughniyeh first met bin Laden in 1995. Hizballah and al Qaeda shared terrorist training camps in Lebanon and Sudan. They also shared joint operations. Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia. The US Embassy bombings in Africa (Iran supplied the explosives). Iran facilitated travel for al Qaeda. A number of high ranking al Qaeda members stayed in Iran after they were routed from Afghanistan. And Zarqawi, leader of al Qaeda in Iraq which became ISIS, started out with a Palestinian terror cell called al-Tawhid, funded by Iran (as Hamas was for so long).
Anyway:
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/05/irans-zarif-urges-trump-to-discuss-avoiding-another-911-with-saudis
December 22, 2011, U.S. District Judge George B. Daniels ruled in Havlish, et al. v. bin Laden, et al., that Iran and Hizballah were liable for damages to be paid to relatives of the victims of the September 11, 2001 jihad attacks in New York and Washington.
Judge Daniels found that both the Islamic Republic and its Lebanese proxy had actively aided al-Qaeda in planning and executing those attacks. He found that Iran and Hizballah had cooperated and collaborated with al-Qaeda before 9/11, and continued to do so after the attacks.
Before 9/11, Iran and Hizballah were implicated in efforts to train al-Qaeda members to blow up large buildings. This training resulted in the bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia in 1996, the bombing of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, and the attack on the USS Cole in 2000.
Shortly after the Cole attack, the 9/11 jihad plot began to come together — and Iran was involved.
Former MOIS operative Abolghasem Mesbahi, a defector from Iran, testified that during the summer of 2001 he received messages from Iranian government officials regarding a plan for unconventional warfare against the United States. The plot was entitled Shaitan dar Atash (“Satan in Flames”).
“Satan in Flames” was the Iranian’s elaborate plot to hijack three passenger jets, each packed full of people, and crash them into American landmarks: the World Trade Center, which jihadis took to be the center of American commerce; the Pentagon, the center of America’s military apparatus; and the White House.
A classified National Security Agency analysis referred to in the 9/11 Commission report reveals that eight to 10 of the 9/11 hijackers traveled to Iran repeatedly in late 2000 and early 2001.
The 9/11 Commission called for a U.S. government investigation into Iran’s role in 9/11 — but none was ever undertaken.
Kenneth R. Timmerman of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran contends that even the available evidence is explosive enough. In his words, he reveals that the Islamic Republic of Iran:
*Helped design the 9/11 plot
*Provided intelligence support to identify and train the operatives who carried it out
*Allowed the future hijackers to evade U.S. and Pakistani surveillance on key trips to Afghanistan — where they received the final order of mission from Osama bin Laden — by escorting them through Iranian borders without passport stamps
*Evacuated hundreds of top al-Qaeda operatives from Afghanistan to Iran after 9/11 just as U.S. forces launched their offensive
*Provided safe haven and continued financial support to al-Qaeda cadres for years after 9/11
*Allowed al-Qaeda to use Iran as an operational base for additional terror attacks, in particular the May 2003 bombings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The Ayatollah Khamenei knew about the plot. During the summer of 2001, he instructed Iranian agents to be careful to conceal their tracks. He told them to communicate only with al-Qaeda’s second-in-command — Ayman al-Zawahiri — and Imad Mughniyah of Hizballah.
Mughniyah was Iran’s key player in the 9/11 “Satan in Flames” plot. During the Havlish trial, former CIA agents Clare M. Lopez and Bruce D. Tefft submitted an affidavit stating:
Imad Mughniyah, the most notable and notorious world terrorist of his time, an agent of Iran and a senior operative of Hizballah, facilitated the international travel of certain 9/11 hijackers to and from Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan, and perhaps various other locations for the purpose of executing the events of September 11, 2001.
This support enabled two vital aspects of the September 11, 2001 plot to succeed: (1) the continued training of the hijackers in Afghanistan and Iran after securing their United States visas in Saudi Arabia, and (2) entry into the United States.
Judge Daniels determined that Iran, Hizballah, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security, and other Iranian government departments — as well as the Ayatollah Khamenei himself and former Iranian president Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani — were all directly implicated in Iranian efforts to aid al-Qaeda in its 9/11 plot.
Daniels awarded the plaintiffs in the Havlish case $394,277,884 for economic damages, $94,000,000 for pain and suffering, $874,000,000 for mental anguish and grief, $4,686,235,921 in punitive damages, and $968,000,000 in pre-judgment interest for a total of $7,016,513,805.”

President Trump’s comments reaffirmed the insane deal with Iran and his ability to accurately asses the dangers of the previous administrations that were reasons he won my vote. With limited knowledge of the all the details that drove Obama to agree to this arrangement I concluded he pushed the payments through and that was his intent all the while enforcing into the minds of Americans it was good for America to end Irans sanctions. His many appeasing engagements with Islamic societies, his inaccurate descriptions of Islam, the omission of the attacks previously from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard and Irans death threats could only have happened with a sleeping public and a compliant press and the workings of a muslim brotherhood that had the support of the left….seems like a collusion not one democrat worried about in my opinion.

The headline, “Trump: Islamic Republic of Iran has “spread death, …” leads one to think that Trump referred to the “Islamic Republic of Iran”. But, there is nothing in the article to indicate that he did so. In the article, he referred only to “radical regime”, “fanatical regime”, “extremist rule”, “Iranian dictatorship”. Nowhere did he hint that the regime is Islamic or that Islam has anything to do with the way that country behaves. As part of our campaign to educate our fellow citizens about Islam, we should always refer to Iran by its official name, “The Islamic Republic of Iran”, and we should point this out in readers’ comments on other sites. The readers of Jihad Watch all understand that Islam is the problem with Iran, but the rest of our fellow citizens do not. Apparently, even our president does not quite get it, either.
