This ad is an illustration of what I have pointed out many times: the Left is trying to use Charlottesville as its Reichstag Fire moment, to demonize and destroy all opposition. That vehicular jihad attacks are far, far more common than “right-wing extremists” mowing anyone down doesn’t faze these propagandists in the least.
Gillespie added: “They [Northam campaign] don’t want to debate the issues, and instead of debating the issues, they just demonize, they vilify, they marginalize anyone who disagrees with them.”
That is not true just of the Ralph Northam campaign, but of the Left in general: instead of debating the issues, they just demonize, they vilify, they marginalize anyone who disagrees with them. And the American public, bombarded with this propaganda all day every day, has largely bought it. Many, many Americans take it for granted that to oppose jihad or support sane immigration policies is “Islamophobic.”
In reality, the very concept of “Islamophobia” is spurious — invented in order to intimidate people into fearing to oppose jihad terror. What happens when an ordinary American stands up and does so anyway? Find out in my new book Confessions of an Islamophobe, which is essentially the story of what happened to me when I called attention to jihad terror and Sharia oppression: instead of debating the issues, they just demonize, they vilify, they marginalize anyone who disagrees with them. “Virginia gov race ad sparks outrage, portrays Gillespie supporter trying to mow down kids,” by Brooke Singman, Fox News, October 31, 2017:
Democratic candidate for Virginia governor Ralph Northam is not distancing himself from the controversial ad suggesting supporters of Republican candidate Ed Gillespie are seen as Confederates who attack minority children.
The new opposition ad titled “American Nightmare” was released Monday by Democratic group Latino Victory Fund (LVF) and is scheduled to run through Election Day. The opposition ad shows minority children seemingly being chased by a driver in a pickup truck, decked out with a Confederate flag, a “Gillespie for governor” bumper sticker and a “Don’t tread on me” license plate.
The driver makes his way toward the scared children who shout, “Run! Run! Run!” when they see the truck. The ad concludes with a scene of a Charlottesville-like rally, with a narrator asking: “Is this what Donald Trump and Ed Gillespie mean by the ‘American Dream?’”
Northam’s campaign told Fox News Tuesday that the ad was “not shocking” based on Gillespie’s campaign.
“Independent groups are denouncing Ed Gillespie because he has run the most divisive, fear-mongering campaign in modern history,” Northam campaign spokeswoman Ofirah Yheskel said in a statement to Fox News. “It is not shocking that communities of color are scared of what his Trump-like policy positions mean for them.”
But Gillespie said the ad was “an attack on” his “supporters,” whom he calls “good decent hardworking Virginians who love their neighbors.”
“The fact is, whether you disagree with people or not, in Virginia, we respect civil discourse and this is a new low in politics here. It’s a sad day,” Gillespie said on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday. “I was glad when a couple of the Democratic members of our House Delegates yesterday condemned the ad, but outrageously my opponent has embraced it, and it reveals a disdain not just for more supporters but for all Virginians, frankly, who want to have a discussion about issues and policies in this election that I’ve been focused on.”
Gillespie added: “They [Northam campaign] don’t want to debate the issues, and instead of debating the issues, they just demonize, they vilify, they marginalize anyone who disagrees with them.”…

The Democrats can be expected to run grotesque commercials, it’s all they can think of. To introduce ideas to their public that are actually constructive, beneficial, and constitutional is too far out of their creative thinking abilities. Those poor folks who actually donate to Democrat politicians are paying for it, and finally donations to DNC overall are seriously diminishing as a result.

This is the most irresponsible and outrageous ad that i have ever seen. They are going to get somebody hurt or even killed. Depicting some guy trying to harm our children will envoke in us the most carnal of emotions, the ones that enrage and cause us to attack those who would harm them, which in this deceptive ad is a white guy, the lefts go to enemy of all minority groups. This was well thought out.
brane pilot says
Any political party that runs political ads this cynical and divisive is unfit to be voted into office.
That does not mean it will not happen.
But at least now there is hope that this sort of ad will blow up in the face of those who resort to it.

VA: Dem gov candidate runs ad featuring supporter of opponent trying to murder children, including hijabbed Muslima
………………….
Good God–this is just unconscionable.
Carolyne says
It is only the residents of Northern Virginia who would swallow this nonsense. They are mostly government drones and the Democrat elite. The common-sense folks live in the rest of Virginia, but unfortunately they don’t usually vote.
I was alive when Lyndon Johnson ran an ad against Barry Goldwater which showed a little girl pulling petals from a daisy and counting. Then it switched to a countdown for a nuclear bomb and the explosion. I was not old enough to vote, but would have voted for Goldwater.
Yes, it is unconscionable. The greatest dangers to our country are Muslims and Liberals and the US Government.
gravenimage says
Yes, Carolyne–these smears have been around for a long time–but this is especially disgusting.

……………….
Possibly so–I live on the other side of the country, and have not been following Gillespie’s campaign–hard to believe it could be more fear-mongering *than this*, though…

The Democrats who ran this ad have horrible timing. Not only do they lie about Republicans and get Islamic doctrine wrong, but Islamic terrorists show them up as ignorant over and over.
larry says
Yeah, like who is running whom over? Maybe the NYC Islamist was flying the Confederate flag, while mowing down bicyclists.

ENABLER OF EVIL. SOB
Show him the “truck jihad” in NY.
Disgusting liberals and mainstream media

This is like something right out of the Joe Goebbels playbook.
Sick
Steve K says
How ironic that this ad would appear just days before a Muslim in NY killed 8 and injured several by running them over IN REAL LIFE.
What a stark contrast–fake leftist fearmongering versus reality
gravenimage says
Sorry, Steve-I posted my comments below before reading yours. You are quite right.
gravenimage says
You know what is especially sick about this?
A Jihadist in NYC *actually* mowed down Infidel children outside a school, ramming a school bus and running down kids on bikes.
This is *reality*–the bullshit above is just a twisted fantasy.
Carolyne says
Yes, this is reality and the mayor of London told the Brits to “Get used to it.” I don’t think Americans will ever accept that we have to just “Get used to it” although some have said that to me.
gravenimage says
Anyone who “gets used” to this is insane. And it is only getting worse.
I agree that Americans are more likely to balk at this suicide than many others.
MFritz says
Ah, the “beloved” Democrats. Sore losers and not too shabby for any propaganda trick. Not be seeing you soon in the White House!

What an obscene projection, considering that trucks are currently the Islamic terrorist tool of choice.
TL says
It’s obvious that the left is eager to agitate itself once again into into a state of genocidal frenzy. Meanwhile, all adults are agreed that correct policy for dealing with Islamic terrorism is informed by two self-evident truths:
No Muslims, no mujahids.
No mujahids, no jihad.

The reality is the opposite of the commercial.
