Here is video of the full event at Stanford on Tuesday night, including the walkout staged by Stanford’s fascist community, courtesy Stanford College Republicans. Stanford officials prevented the Young America’s Foundation from streaming the event or even filming it at all. Clearly they knew what was in the offing and did not want the streaming to reveal the egregious behavior of Stanford students before the world.
This is not a righteous protest. This was a concerted effort on the part of Stanford officials and hard-Left student activists to prevent as many people as possible from hearing me: before the walkout, the Stanford Daily conducted a days-long defamation campaign, full of false accusations about me and my work — not only from students, but from Stanford faculty and administrators. After the walkout, Stanford officials refused repeated requests to open the doors to students who had wanted to attend but couldn’t get in.
If Stanford were actually a university where ideas were accepted or dismissed on their merits or lack thereof, Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne and Provost Persis Drell would resign in disgrace over this episode. Instead, they will probably get awards.
Stanford administrators and students made a huge mistake — one that they do not realize, but will become unmistakable to them before too long. Find out why all this happened, and how dangerous their path really is, in Confessions of an Islamophobe. Preorder your copy here now.

I would disagree… that they disallow anyone to speak any other facts than what they wish to accept, is the beginning of facism. It is not the end of it. It is the beginning, and you can hear the music of the students, in the backgraound, and their smurf phony smiles, which will be replaced in short order.
They are the beginnings of fascists, and of fascism. They don’t know it, because they think they’re
anti-fascist. They are not. They are the destroyers of freedom of speech.
Gail griffin says
Next lecture on a university should start with totalitarian indoctrination. How Nazis worked to get Hitler elected and how the population was suckered. Then show how universities are using students and faculty in the same manner. That might keep them in their seats.
jihad3tracker says
HELLO LARA — Yes, you are right in the narrow historical definition of fascism, associated with events happening decades ago.
But, as a reader of Jihad Watch for about 7 years, I understand that Robert Spencer uses that word to describe the agenda of “leftist totalitarians” who, as commenter mgoldberg writes, “disallow anyone to speak any other facts than what they wish to accept”.

I hate to say it, but being a leftist, it’s less a political ideology, unless you’re some crazy Antifa marxist, and more a huggy wuggy hippy cult run amok.

I would hope that all this phony distortion by by administrators, professors, and brain dead students, who disallow any discussion and caused this disruption of the lecture, will be shown to be enabling the destruction not only of learning, but of the foundations of the mission of Universities to develop intellectual
discussion, and debate.
I would hope that Fox, and other news outlets would be encouraged to review the entire weeks happenings, the accusations, the gentle informative responses by R Spencer, and the scurrilous actions by the administration in support of the destruction of the freedom of speech, and their own cowardice.
I would hope the challenge by R Spencer to debate any of these administrators, or professors would be demanded by those who see the proto fascist leanings and actions by the above administrators.
It is a scandalous outrage that the disruption was not merely allowed but unchallenged by others in the academic and local community who should be rightfully offended by their loss of freedom and intellectual enquiry

Observe how fascistic wolves are looking nervously askance toward their right starting from about 10 minute benchmark of this film, apparently toward their leader for the exact moment to start their infamous walk-out, and tell that it was not well coordinated and organized! They dutifully waited for the “hash” from their leader to react that way, they the walking dead zombies! “Peaceful, quiet demonstration”? No! Observe how most of them did not even paid any attention to what is being said, just watching only for sign from their “fuehrer,” pretending to take notes, talking to each other, checking their iPhones for text messages (texting?), occasionally bursting in pack-laugh, or trying aloud the latest mantra song blindly memorized from their classes, singing: what was that? “A Call to Prayer”? Verily, their imam would be proud of them: they are just ready to be subjugated under suzerainty rule of Islam and they don’t even notice!
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
The walkout actually begins at 12:45 (in this video). By the way, who is the girl at 14:45 who is wearing the gag Groucho glasses with oversize eyebrows and nose? She appears again at 15:50 to give a thumbs-up signal.

But I was listening closely, and these students got a good earful of Truth before they left that will continue to haunt them for sometime. There is no way to unhear what was spoken no matter how they may try. They are bound to suffer a bit of cognitive dissonance because of this.

The administration may be concerned about losing money they receive from ME donors. Information about large donors may not be available so there is no way to know for certain. Keeping the general public out and not allowing even students to enter to fill the seats of those who left makes one wonder what their possible motive could be.
Mary says
If Stanford is like most private prep schools and universities, they publish an alumni/ae magazine with lists of donors, categorized by amount each gave. One can obtain a copy of such publication, provided it exists, either online or in hard copy, and look up the major and minor donors.
Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
It is unfortunate that this video is marred by poor sound quality. But skip ahead to about 1:17:30 and the annoying rumbling ends (what was causing it?). But throughout the video, the sound volume is too low.

“I encourage you to be better” says one of the disruptors sheepishly, with an awkward grin, as she isn’t quite sure why she is doing what she is doing or saying what she is saying, or who, exactly, this man is or what his work entails despite her rhetorical violence toward him. Smiling originated in primates as a means of conveying submissiveness. Smiling’s origins are in nervousness. After vastly increasing complexity of the human mind the behavior has come to be associated with much more, as with wit and humor, but here we see smiling in its primal form of nervous reflex. Her grin originates with an increase in neurotransmitters triggering an evolved pathway resulting in recruitment of muscle fibers associated with the zygomaticus muscles so as to bear her teeth and thus betrays an embarrassment over her actions. Why she is doing something embarrassing is the crux of our problem in the West. How we’ve come to be convinced into action against ourselves and the good we’ve so obviously, materially, accomplished is a puzzle we don’t have much longer to figure out.

It was a smile of repulsiveness toward Spencer – a totally clueless, brainwashed, indolent childish smirk.
Delphi says
So, being a leftist feminist, I thought I’d sound in , because I believe Robert Spencer deserves better.
I’m sorry this happened to you. We live in a world today, where, well intentioned though they may be, most leftists think all evils come from white people, and all oppression comes from western culture. It’s a fundamental flaw that refuses to acknowledge basic human nature and instinct, not to mention 6000+ years of post agricultural history.
Islam as it’s practiced today, in majority Islamic countries, takes the form of a violent patriarchy that doesnt’ deviate too far on an every day real life basis from something like Handmaid’s tale. Heck, Atwood WROTE handmaid’s tale based on the Iranian revolution with a “it could happen here too, because of Christian fundamentalists” warning attached to it.
Let that sink in. It doesn’t deviate too far. It really, honestly doesn’t. It doesn’t matter what’s written in some dusty book, because there are bad things in the bible, too. Honor murders, rapes, manditory dress codes, sharia law requiring 4 witnesses, ect, ect, ect, ect. Do the math, feminists. Do the math.
Human nature is what it is. Not all evils come from Western culture.
What annoys me is how many young people don’t realize this, and think all problems can be solved with a hippy sing song love in. We’re all in for a violent awakening this century, unfortunately. Personally I think it’s because of the simple pressure of human numbers, 3rd world poverty, and encroaching problems such as global warming.
But yes, it’s a bitch. And people need to wake up to the dangers of religious extremists, of every stripe. Now.

Delphi, most Jihadists are anything but poor–certainly, Osama bin Laden was not. Saudi Arabia is funding ‘extremist’ Mosques all over the world, and they are flush with oil wealth.
And non-Muslim countries like Haiti, Laos, and Namibia are very poor, and yet they are not waging violent Jihad.
Really, this is not about “3rd world poverty”, but about the texts and tenets of Islam and the model of the “Prophet” Muhammed.
Muslims have been waging violent Jihad for 1400 years now, when the world human population was just a fragment of what it is today.
And some nations are very crowded–Japan and Taiwan come to mind–yet have no problem with violent Jihad.
More:
But yes, it’s a bitch. And people need to wake up to the dangers of religious extremists, of every stripe. Now.

You may dislike religion in general, Delphi, and this is your right. But where are Jews, Christians, Hindus, or Buddhists waging violence on the diktats of their scripture? They are not.
Would that we could say the same of Muslims and Islam.

Completely seconded, gravenimage. Besides, overpopulation is yet another myth. All the people of the earth could be put in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico and they would have far, far more living space than do people in cities like NYC and Los Angeles——and with huge national parks no less. The problem is not overpopulation but mismanagement of resources, coupled with such other errors as dictatorships, stupid economic systems, civil wars, a dearth of liberty, and a seemingly never-ending victim-oriented mentality. Huge error difference here.
Rather the same with so-called climate change, which is indicative, above all, of: 1) science being politicized; and 2) the desire to transfer wealth from countries that work to countries that don’t work. Man puts into the atmosphere about 8 gigatons of CO2 yearly from all his activities while the oceans and seas of the world pump some 200 gigatons of CO2 annually into the atmosphere but yet man is the culprit for an ever so slight rise in temperature which STILL is not as high as it was a thousand years ago (and yes, I know that the oceans re-absorb much of the CO2 that they emit but some 8 gigatons is simply a nugatory amount; besides, CO2 is food for plants and in higher levels of the atmosphere actually works as a coolant; only since the whole global warming nonsense has CO2 been made into, mon Dieu, a poison!).
Poor Delphi has fallen for a lot of BS as well as moral relativistic reasoning (oh yeah, those nasty Methodists, Orthodox Jews and Buddhists out there are a real problem too——–no doubt). Reminds me again here of what Churchill observed, to wit, that a lie (in this case several) can get half way around the world before the truth even gets out of the starting gate. Wonder if Delphi will ever figure this out. Odds, I think, are not favorable.
Ann says
Read Maybe One. And Jason Diamond’s Collapse, the chapter on overpopulation. Overpopulation was the root cause of the genocide in Rwanda. Overpopulation continues to be the biggest problem in the world.
Wellington says
Ann: The root cause of the genocide in Rwanda was rank hatred by the Tutsis and Hutus for each other, not overpopulation. Also, I never claimed that a particular country here and there is not overpopulated but overall the earth is far from overpopulated. Many countries (examples being Mongolia, Canada, Russia and Japan are underpopulated and/or experiencing less than zero population growth). The earth could sustain 20 or 30 billion people if all countries had four things: 1) democracy; 2) capitalism; 3) a proper moral order; and 4) a decent legal system accompanied by proper management of natural resources. Overpopulation is a myth, is an excuse masquerading as an argument. Look elsewhere for the real culprits.
gravenimage says
Ann, no one was starving in Rwanda before the genocide there.
This genocide ran along tribal lines–it was not about overpopulation.
Besides, the population of Rwanda was about 6 million in 1993–today it is twice that, and there is no starvation there.

Dear Friends,
Are there any readers who will join me in an open-hearted attempt to encourage college students to listen to challenging points of view? When Robert Spencer speaks again at Stanford I hope to hear thoughtful and critical questions from the students. For each of these questions I will be delighted to donate $1 to worthy Bay Area causes, such as the Stanford scholarship fund, women’s shelters and the Gay Men’s Health Crisis. For every student who walks out, however, I will divert 10 cents of my charitable donation to support this web site. Wouldn’t it be lovely if next year we could join together with the Stanford community to celebrate a successful event with a large donation to worthy causes!?
Please reply to this thread with constructive ideas that might help nudge everyone involved a little closer.

Ms. Malaprop,
You’re asking us to address the problem at Stanford by donating our money to Stanford. You may mean well, I’m not sure, but this is the sort of ridiculousness that is exemplary of the modern left.
We expect Stanford to abide by the First Amendment as the rest of us do. And that is all.
Missus Malaprop says
Thank you so much Georg!
A thoughtful and helpful reply! Yes, I agree. No one should donate to the Stanford scholarship fund who feels their money can be put to better work elsewhere. No indeed! But surely there are other causes in the Bay Area that you might be willing to support. Education projects, drug programs, food programs, homeless shelters…
If university students knew that by walking out of an event they would be funding this web site, some of them would rethink their actions. If they knew that by listening to difficult ideas and formulating reasoned criticisms that they were helping worthy causes, some might stay and do that.
Why not think the best of me and not the worst? Help make my idea better!
Love, Missus
gravenimage says
Missus Malaprop, your idea that a dollar more here or ten cents less there is apt to make a difference where people ideologically hate freedom of speech is unlikely–especially when most of them are still funded by their parents.
Missus Malaprop says
Dear Graven,
Thank you very much for your input! How I hope your are wrong! Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could achieve the exchange of ideas that so many people of good will feel we are lacking?
But if, sadly, you are correct, then what clearer proof could there be for people who are unsure how to feel and are watching from the sidelines? Let those who walk out know that they are doing so at a cost. Let those who are uncertain see the hypocrites for who they are. Let those who stay, listen and question, open their minds.
Thank you again, Graven.
Please, everyone, let’s hear more and better ideas about how we can create a dialog or highlight the hypocrisy, as the case may be.
Love, Missus

In another post Mr Spencer refers to an article from someone called Bauer-Wolf, who states that these ‘students’ (sic) “stood up and left the hall quietly so as not to disturb the lecture”. How very nice! What a load of rubbish! If that was ‘quiet’ then I long for the peace and calm of a pneumatic drill. That was blatant, puerile, stupid disruption. Watching the video reminded me of two things:- 1. several years I spent ‘teaching’ in a notorious High School, known as the ‘sink’ school of that particular London borough, where every working day was like a month in a lunatic asylum and, 2. a classroom scene from ‘The Blackboard Jungle’. But this isn’t a no-hope London sink school, or a New York ‘problem school’.It’s supposed to be a ‘UNIVERSITY’, for God’s sake!! And some of these ‘budding intellectuals’ might be running your country in 20 or so years? That’s if you’ve actually got a country left by then! You certainly won’t stand much chance with that lot on the loose. The phrase that came to mind watching Mr. Spencer endeavouring to communicate with those eager young minds was ‘pearls before swine’, except that it’s now generally agreed that pigs are intelligent animals and I wouldn’t want to insult them. Do yourself a favour, Mr Spencer, and don’t waste your time in any more ‘universities’. Try a kindergarten. The students there will probably be more intelligent and they’re certain to be civilised.

More proof–if any were needed–that this walkout was cynically coordinated ahead of time. Those leaving do so all at the same time–as the 13 minute mark. Even if some students genuinely objected to something Robert Spencer said at that point–alas, the sound is too poor to hear his speech–they certainly would not have left all at once.
Moreover, it is obviously that none of those getting up seem surprised at others leaving, and then decide to join them–instead, this is all done at once.
As I noted, this is just kabuki theater.

Those who slandered Robert Spencer should be ashamed, because he is a very serious and moral man who defends universal human rights. Do they at the Stanford Daily? Or do they only defend the rights of those with whom they agree? That is not defending human rights at all! That is defending propaganda.
If the arguments of the Stanford neo-Marxists cannot be defended strongly in a debate with someone like Robert Spencer and must be enforced through trickery, ARE THOSE LEFTARDED VIEWS EVEN WORTH ANYTHING INTELLECTUALLY?
Surely, the Stanford Leftards should ask themselves WHY they are UNABLE to debate Robert Spencer and WHY their arguments IN FAVOR of JIHAD TERRORISM would not win in such a debate!
If you have a bad argument, you should adopt a BETTER ARGUMENT. The Stanford Leftards have a bad argument and clearly THEY ARE UNABLE TO INTELLECTUALLY DEFEND IT.

So labeling these forces of nowadays as “cultural Marxists” is a very apt comparison/classification – for they exhibit all the signs of Marxism, the same Marxism in its communist party edition that destroyed 40 years of lives of several generations …

The only exception I would make is if the young man or woman is really good at math, chemistry, physics, etc., and has taken AP classes in either or all of the above in High School and they want a profession in the hard sciences and, or engineering. In that case, I would recommend Cal Tech at Pasadena, MIT, or any other technical institute. I understand that there are some very good ones in other countries like Russia which has a tradition of mastering mathematics and hard science. One exception is teaching where a degree is required to get a credential and heavens knows, we do need good teachers.
