Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Stanford officials stonewalling on their role in disruption of Robert Spencer event

Nov 17, 2017 7:24 am By Robert Spencer

“Campus Reform reached out to Stanford for a comment on the matter, and is currently awaiting a response.”

You’re going to have a long wait, my friends. What do they have to hide? Apparently, plenty.

“Stanford stands down as students disrupt conservative speech,” by Anthony Gockowski, Campus Reform, November 16, 2017:

Protesters staged a walk-out during Robert Spencer’s Tuesday night appearance at Stanford University, leaving most of the auditorium empty, even as overflow crowds were denied entry.

Spencer is the current director of Jihad Watch, an organization founded by David Horowitz, who was also recently protested during a lecture at the University of Houston. The two both take a critical approach to the Islamic religion, with recent talks discussing the supposed “terror network” on college campuses.

“The idea that ideas are to be rejected on the basis of whether they are acceptable to various elites—that’s just the opposite of what free discourse really is.”

According to a video of the event, dozens of students proceeded to stand up and leave shortly after Spencer’s speech started, taking several minutes to exit the venue, during which time one of the protesters kicked a microphone that had fallen to the floor during the disruption.

“The idea that ideas are to be rejected on the basis of whether they are acceptable to various elites—that’s just the opposite of what free discourse really is. And so these Stanford people who just left are actually behaving in a way that’s completely in opposition to what a university ought to be,” Spencer remarked as the protesters exited the auditorium, later asking administrators to allow the overflow crowd outside to occupy the vacated seats.

“I do hope that the Stanford administrators will let some of the people who wanted to come in get in now. Can we make that happen?” he asked, though his efforts ultimately proved futile as he rebuked the administration at the end of his lecture for failing to fulfill his request.

“They said this afternoon that they would not prevent people from disrupting this event, and they did not allow people to come in who wanted to come in afterward when we specifically requested that repeatedly,” he commented.

According to Young America’s Foundation (YAF), which sponsored the event, there “was a large group of Stanford students outside,” yet “administrators refused to allow anyone else in the hall.”

“Stanford’s leftist administrators and students are either too scared they might hear a conservative idea they agree with, or too incompetent to place their own ideas up against a conservative’s in a public forum,” YAF further commented.

Campus Reform reached out to Stanford for a comment on the matter, and is currently awaiting a response.

This weekend (if you have a traditional Monday-Friday job) there might appear some free time for us to contribute pushback on the two thugs — one woman, one man — who Robert writes about in the post on his appearance in the Stanford lecture hall.

I WILL CONTINUE ABOUT THAT IN AN HOUR OR SO — GOTTA SCOOT FOR A FEW CHORES. BYE FOR NOW.

OK — I’M BACK. Here is Robert’s post the treatment he got at Stanford, by two thugs disguised as deans:

      https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/11/stanford-deans-nanci-howe-and-snehal-naik-engineered-destruction-of-robert-spencer-event

I am of the opinion that such rude unmerited mendacious totalitarianism should be widely publicized. Agree ?

So, Saturday and Sunday, when you are already on the ‘web or can fire up your computer anyway, get on Google. In it’s search box enter this, EXACTLY AS I TYPE IT BELOW in capital letters:

      SNEHAL NAIK + “WE’RE GLAD YOU’RE HERE”

Use + as the search operator, and the quote from Naik that Robert gives in his blog post. I just did that, and three hits were returned, the first one being Jihad Watch’s article.

If, say, 5,000 of us around the world do this, 10 separate times over the weekend, the result will be, of course, 50 thousand hits, ensuring that Google’s popularity algorithm boosts Naik’s name up to the top when it is searched FOR OTHER PURPOSES, unrelated to Jihad Watch, by people who are totally unaware of how despicably he behaved.

Robert risked his life at the Stanford event. I think the least we can do in gratitude is donating a small slice of our weekends to repay that courage.

they know what they did is morally and legally wrong, but like all liberals the end justifies the means. The end is a society without morals. Consequentalists like John Rawls are totalitarians who think of themselves as liberals.

Stanford’s staf did not want people in there who wanted to hear Robert Spencer’s speech. That is already a vague sign. It shows that you are afraid that somebody might hear the truth.
It shows us their true colours, but I hate the way you mislead young students. That is vile. I am telling everybody about the gorgeous Universities, where before everyone wanted to go to, but not so any more.

CEO’s will think twice to have people without spines employed and rightfully so.
Stanford and the others:YOU BLEW IT !!!, BUT WERE YOU FUNDED TOO BY MUSLIMCOUNTRIES?
    I guess so !!!

Those “liberal” (actually totalitarian) protesters are the prefect example of Communism’s “useful idiots.”

    • mortimer says

      Nov 17, 2017 at 7:54 am

“Useful idiot” is a term of mockery for a person who acts as a propagandist for a cause the goals of which they are not fully aware, and who is deftly manipulated and cynically utilized by the leaders of the cause.

      – a useful idiot is a politically useful fool, a laughable naïf, manipulated by ideologues, and secretly held in contempt by them, but whose blind support is happily accepted and exploited.

The Stanford students have not read the Islamic source texts (do not even know the names of those texts), have not read the 17 books by Robert Spencer on jihad and have not heard Robert Spencer’s victorious debates with Muslim apologists. In spite of their total lacunae of knowledge about Islam, they presumptuously act is if they are well-informed on this complex topic and simply assume it is just a question of Marxist ‘victimology’ protocol.

In fact, Marxism has already condemned Islam as a form of bourgeois kleptocracy.

  5. mortimer says

    Nov 17, 2017 at 7:48 am

The Stanford staff prejudged Robert Spencer content, had not read his books and then they used deceit and collusion to control the students.

In other words, the Stanford staff were acting as thought police, denying the conservative students of their voice.

There is no room for thought police in an American university. That may be the Third-World Dictatorship way, but it is NOT the American way.

The Stanford staff prejudged Robert Spencer content, had not read his books …

Sadly, Mortimer, I fear it may be far worse.

Stanford knew exactly what Mr. Spencer’s books say. THAT IS WHY they did not want the message to get any attention.

I have heard that at Stanford walking out in the middle of a presentation is how they show respect it is not rude. The Young Republicans could have live streamed the event but had to do it themselves they were not permitted to contract it out. The administration decided ahead of time for ‘security’ reasons that no one would be permitted to enter after the event had started. They apparently were aware that a larger number would be leaving. They were thus supporting one group of students and discriminating against another. How do you like that students?

    • mortimer says

      Nov 17, 2017 at 8:32 am

Exactly. They discriminated against the conservative students who pay their fees like everyone else and have equal right to use the venue for events.

This is an abuse of power by the staff.

Those responsible should be disciplined, demoted or dismissed.

  7. mortimer says

    Nov 17, 2017 at 8:34 am

Imagine if the students had been black students (or some other group of perceived ‘victims’) and they tried the same stunt.

Imagine if we were back in the 1950s in the time of Southern segregation and they tried this stunt.

They are treating conservative students as an underclass against whom it is LEGAL to discriminate!

IN MOST OF THE WEST THIS 101 OF DEBATE SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN MISSED BY NOT ONLY THE STUDENTS BUT THE STAFF AS WELL.

I MUST ADD THAT IBRAHIM HOOPER & C.A.I.R SEEM TO HAVE DONE THEIR DISINFORMATION SPREADING VERY WELL INDEED!

I wrote to the President of Stanford
17.11 Dear President Tessier-Lavigne, Stanford University
I am still traumatised and under shock at the shameful, scandalous treatment given to Robert Spencer, an outstanding intellectual and writer and great connaisseur of Islam and jihadism when he came to speak to your students a few days ago.
Freedom of speech was sabotaged. I am also Canadian although living in Switzerland at the moment, but this is the kind of thing I can’t imagine happening in Canada, and so I am incredulous that you allowed it. Stanford’s reputation is ruined.
I am a writer, translator and activist who has been working for years on the burning issue of the massive Islamic invasion of Christian countries and the consequent terrorism. In fact, I have worked out a solution to terrorism, which I suggest to people concerned in many many letters. I can tell you that every word Robert Spencer writes is the truth. There is something dangerous happening: authorities and the European Union, the UN and the Churches want to ignore the dangers Musim migrants represent, and consequently the media hide the facts. In Europe, over 350 innocent people have been murdered by Muslims since mid November 2015, besides Muslims commit the majority of crimes, including many rapes. The Koran commands over 100 times to “kill the infidels”, and that is what the terrorists are doing. Besides, Islam commands to islamise the world, which is happening.
Mr. Spencer is brave enough to tell the truth and we must be grateful to him and support him.
    Sincerely,

It is really sad to see that there are so few independently thinking students in Stanford. The university that used to be one of the best shows the students displaying the most rude and intimidating behavior one could imaging. Shame on you, Stanford!!
