Thought experiment: what if Omar Khadr, the jihad terrorist who murdered one American soldier and blinded another, was coming to Stanford? Or how about Susan Rice, who lied to the American people after the Benghazi jihad massacre, falsely claiming that it happened because an American exercised his free-speech right to criticize Muhammad?
Oh, wait, Susan Rice was there Tuesday night, and was welcomed with open arms. Omar Khadr has not yet spoken at Stanford, as far as I know, but if he did, he would no doubt be welcomed as well.
But someone who opposes jihad terror and Sharia oppression? Rain down the condemnations! Affect a tone of moral indignation! Why? Find out how all this has come about in my new book, Confessions of an Islamophobe. Preorder your copy here.
“GSC condemns Spencer visit, allocates money to fight Republican tax plan,” Stanford Daily, November 9, 2017:
At its meeting Wednesday evening, the Graduate Student Council (GSC) joined the ASSU in condemning Robert Spencer’s visit to campus and allocated $2,000 to fight a Republican tax bill currently making its way through Congress that would reduce tax breaks for graduate students.
Earlier this week, the Undergraduate Senate criticized the Stanford College Republicans’ (SCR’s) decision to host Spencer but did not revoke the Senate’s funding for the event, saying the student government has “an obligation to consider all student groups for funding equally, regardless of their respective ideologies.”
While SCR has framed Spencer’s visit as a chance to promote free speech and open discussion, the invite has sparked outrage on campus from many who find Spencer’s anti-Islam views repugnant.
Regarding Spencer, Council members debated whether condemning the event would only heighten its profile, but ultimately decided that action against the talk needed to be taken. The Council passed its resolution against the event, planned for Nov. 14….
St. Manuel II Palaiologos says
They’ll condemn the truth many times, but they won’t condemn the teachings of Islamic jihadists and Imams who kill, rape, pillage, destroy and exterminate anything that isn’t Muslim.
That’s just the spirit of the modern age.
Westman says
The campus spirit of the modern age – entitlement, ingratitude, and the expectation of peace while being blind to others who are voluntarily paying the bill with their lives. And anyone who speaks the truth about the non-sustainability of this model – is to be silenced.

Truly disturbing to see closed minds at the port graduate level. They have been blinded by leftist ideology, and so they will remain ignorant.

I doubt any of these clods will show up for the lecture, let alone allow themselves to be shown for the
dispensers of disinformation that they just showed. I do think this will be a splendid lecture, and only hope there is enough time for all the usual questions to be addressed by Robert, without the disruptions that might occur if these tyrants of the multicultural variety have their way.
Best of luck showing what foolishness these blind ‘leaders’ of the students and the administration represent, Robert.
I would suggest that if Stanford does only allow a minimal time, that you invite the entire lecture audience to continue elsewhere and stand up and answer all the so called objections, for a really frank and forthright discussion. These people need to be shown for what they are….

Stanford student group may have a lot of influence from the muslim student association, a creation of the muslim brotherhood, possibly funded by the same group. The purpose of the MSA is to promote Islam…and to further the idea that they are peaceful, truthful, democratic, believe in justice and tolerant, not connected to terrorism but leave out the command to protect islam by performance of deception. Those who speak truthfully who may hurt the image, will of course be immediately seen as a threat, called hostile, racist (Islam is not a race) and an enemy. The acting performances will be muslim students appearing fearful, but the fear is only that the truth that may be exposed that will come out, which they call slander. It is possible it is due to the appearance of calmness, denial of suras, denial of the warfare doctrine and the ignorance of what actually is written in the Quran, the peaceful verses that were abrogated by the later commands after the success of isis tactics in Medina… to slay infidels. Also aided by the left similar alliance and big cash flowing in for universities, politicians, music festival and businesses from the middle east oil profits. A gift that keeps on giving until they hit a church or school, or find a way to terrorize to cause our submission. The doctrine is the issue. Justice and tolerance is only for Islam and those who practice it is very clever in my opinion.

of course the Muslim Student Association is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood….

Another thought experiment:
Let’s suppose a rotund leader in North Korea fires missles on California. Which member of Stanford’s student senate and graduate council would fight to protect California and the US? Which members of the Santa Cruz University student senate, which members of the UCLA student senate? Would they suddenly develop a need for their “deplorable” Young Republicans?
Frankly, the inmates. and leftist professors, are trying to control the institution that should be teaching them to revere their own nation; which, instead, is teaching them to hate their country while expecting entitlements and protection from that same nation due to a superior “education”.
The same entitlement attitude exists among the elite of Europe due to the US guaranteeing, paying for, and providing troops, under NATO, for their safety. Two generations have grown to adulthood without military obligations to their country in both Europe and the US.
This is the universal basis for the current attitude of entitlement, ingratitude, and the expectation of peace – others are paying the bill with their lives, voluntarily.
And now there is erroneous thought that this can go on forever if those people, speaking the truth about the real world, can be silenced. Of course, in the real world, people die to protect the educated cowards.
Perhaps the recent arrest of some UCLA baskeball team members in China, for shoplifting, is an extreme example of what the expectation of entitlement will actually create.

” the invite has sparked outrage on campus from many who find Spencer’s anti-Islam views repugnant.”
It is islam that is repugnant, and not Robert’s views. How repugnant will be clearly laid out in the lecture. These cowards would NEVER engage in a calm, rational, discussion of the merits of their own viewpoint after the lecture. They aren’t interested in learning. They’ve only ever been taught that action and change is the only important thing. Protest and disruption are the simpletons goals. Actually learning the intellectual and philosophical foundation of those they oppose is way beyond them. Even learning the foundations of their own beliefs is too much trouble for them. All they know is that affiliating with a victimhood group is the smoothest path to get ahead in their current academic environment. Actually learning stuff? That’s so passé .
Voytek Gagalka says
Instead of spending their time to learn anything, they seem to do everything possible not to, engaging in all sort of activity which will guarantee that they will remain stupid and intellectually handicapped for the rest of their lives! Universities, today, are no longer institutions of “higher education” they once were.
Westman says
How much of classic literature do you think any of them have read? Probably about as much they have read of the Qur’an.
Nathanael Hoernlé says
Now would seem to be a good moment to say that Robert Spencer is a truly amazing man.
His persistence in the face of what he faces, his courage, his principle, and the clarity of his exposition, are qualities to be marvelled at, respected, and valued. They are rare.

To survive in this environment and graduate means you have to completely submit to its ideology. Actually, the very same way political islam works.

Robert, I’ll bet these very same people protested the Court Decision to Deport Terrorist Murderess Odeh for bombing a grocery store killing 2 College Students. They support people like this.
