Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

“War is deceit,” said Muhammad: Pakistan says its fight against terrorists is “unmatched in the world”

Nov 26, 2017 6:57 pm By Robert Spencer

According to a hadith, Muhammad said, “War is deceit.” (Bukhari 4.52.268).

“Pakistan laughingly says its fight against terrorists is ‘unmatched in the world,’” by Bill Roggio, Long War Journal, November 25, 2017:

One day after Pakistan freed Hafiz Saeed, the emir of al Qaeda and Taliban-allied terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Pakistani government claimed its resolve to fight against terrorists “is unmatched in the world.”Saeed was freed from house arrest after the Lahore High Court determined that his release would not “bring diplomatic and financial problems to the country,” Dawn reported. The Lashkar-e-Taiba leader was put under house arrest on Jan. 31. The US government has listed Saeed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist and issued a $10 million bounty for information leading to his arrest and capture. Lashkar-e-Taiba – which is now known as Jamaat-ud-Dawa – and several of its charitable fronts have been listed as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

The Lahore High Court decided to release Saeed one week after US Congress, in its 2018 National Defense Authorization Act, removed the condition that Pakistan must take action against Lashkar-e-Taiba in order for cash from the Coalition Support Fund to be disbursed to the Pakistani government.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed that Pakistan does not support terrorist organizations and takes the lead in fighting them while it rebuffed India’s protests over the release of Saeed.

“Pakistan’s resolve, actions and successes in the fight against terrorism, terrorist violence and terrorists is unmatched in the world,” a statement by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. “Pakistan condemns and opposes all forms of terrorism by any individual or group.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs then accused India of conducting “acts of terrorism inside Pakistan and elsewhere.”

Pakistan’s denial that it supports and harbors terrorist groups is laughable. Last August, after President Donald Trump called out Pakistan and said that the US “can no longer be silent about Pakistan’s safe havens for terrorist organizations, the Taliban, and other groups that pose a threat to the region and beyond,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied that terrorist groups operate inside its borders.

Inside Pakistan, LeT operates openly and has offices throughout the country. Markaz-e-Taiba, its headquarters in Muridke near Lahore, is a sprawling complex used to indoctrinate future jihadists before they are sent off for military training. The provincial government of Punjab has financed Markaz-e-Taiba in the past.

LeT has mastered the art of using charitable groups to fundraise as well as promote its message and recruit. Since 2010, the US has identified the following groups as LeT fronts: Falah-i Insaniat Foundation, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Al-Anfal Trust, Tehrik-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool, Tehrik-e-Tahafuz Qibla Awwal, and Al-Muhammadia Students. These LeT fronts continue to operate inside Pakistan without consequence….

“War is deceit,” said Muhammad: Pakistan says its fight against terrorists is “unmatched in the world”
    ……………………………

Says the country that allowed *Osama bin Laden* to live in a showy compound right next to its most prestigious military academy for years? One might think Pakistan has something of a credibility problem…

    More:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs then accused India of conducting “acts of terrorism inside Pakistan and elsewhere.”
    ……………………………

Is anyone here surprised that he didn’t get specific about this? Good grief, this is nothing but projection.

For him to say this right after the release of the mastermind of the attack on Mumbiai is especially perverse.

      Right on !

These deceitful hypocrites take two pages from the Playbook of Evil –
accuse others of doing what you are guilty of and,
brag about what you do not do.

The ISI (Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency) is behind LeT and were behind the Mumbai massacre in 2008.
Obviously LeT are not “terrorists” according to the Pakistan government.

A Pakistani-American named David Headley scouted Mumbai for LeT prior to the Mumbai attacks. Some things learned from his interrogation:

      — Every major action of the LeT is undertaken only after the approval of the terror group’s founder, Hafiz Mohammed Saeed. Headley maintained that Saeed had “full knowledge” of the Mumbai attacks, which were launched only after his approval.

—The Mumbai attacks were possible only because of the “complete support of the ISI”. The money used by Headley for conducting surveillance activities in Mumbai was provided by one “Major Iqbal” of the ISI.

–Headley said every important member of the LeT is handled by one or more ISI officials. He said his own ISI handlers were Major Iqbal and Major Sameer Ali. A Brigadier Riyaz was the handler of LeT operational commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, the main accused in the Mumbai attacks case in Pakistan.

–Headley told the NIA {India’s National Investigation Agency} that besides the targets in Mumbai, he had conducted surveillance of and shot videos of other targets for future attacks, including the residence of the Vice President, India Gate, Paharganj near the New Delhi railway station, the CBI office and the office of the Israeli airline El Al in Mumbai.

Pakistan should be punished financially if it doesn’t hand over Hafiz Saeed to India that has demanded to try him in an Indian court.

Even that might not help with the Saudis propping up Pakistan and China too, her ‘all weather’ friend. In fact the Chinese would be happy to step in an fill any vacuum created by the stopping of US money.
It is useless to ‘ask’ them to hand him over. The only way is the drone, car bomb or sniper rifle. India, if it claims to be regional power, needs to acquire a capacity to assassinate terrorists, following Israel or it’ll continue to be called a weak state with bombastic words.
The US too had put a $ 10 million bounty on this guy a decade ago and needs to do the needful.

This is no surprise. Israel wants to live in peace with her neighbours. There is enough land in the Middle East for both Muslim Arabs and Israelis to co exist peacefully In my travels I have heard many Indians speak positively of the Israeli people

There are only 2 rules to follow when you deal with a Muslim or a Muslim country:

    1) Never trust a Muslim or a Muslim country.
    2) Never forget Rule 1.

Strange!! Why on earth is Trump not pulling the plug on Pakistan? Simple per-functionary warnings like “Arrest him(Hafeez Sayed)” etc will not have any effect on this congenitally terrorist nation. Unless there is a hard stop on Pakistanis nothing is going to change. All this would not have happened if the west had heeded India’s warning 30 years ago during the genocide of the Kashmiri pandits, but the western nations made fun of India and were in bed with Osama Bin Laden and his ilk because of the cold war. It is not that there was no Islamic Jihad during the cold war times but the USA and other western nations sided with the Islamic Jihadists in Afghan only to find later that the same helpers were biting the hands that fed them. Sad!!!!
