This morning I was on the Peter Boyles Show on Denver’s KNUS. Peter is a good friend and I’ve been on his show many, many times, but this morning was different, as Peter disagrees with President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and I think it is one of the best and most important decisions an American President has made in decades. You can listen here. It’s a bit repetitive, but both us were able to make our points, and it is well worth a listen.
David M says
Well done Robert, as usual. I don’t think Mr. Boyles grasps the “religion of perpetual outrage”, when he tries to relate the Jerusalem decision with North Korea.
Keep engaging; you are making headway !
mortimer says
Boyle raises the right question (principally): ‘Is the modern witchhunt against counterjihad similar to MacCarthyism?”
The Left has NO counterargument to the counterjihad argument, so they AVOID DEBATE and resort to ad hominem vilification.
mortimer says
The Left cannot tolerate diversity of political opinion.
Mitch says
Hi Mortimer. “Is the modern witchhunt against counterjihad similar to MacCarthyism?” is the wrong question but there are similarities today, just as dangerous.
The proper question might be: “Are muslim agents influencing policy today through infiltration of our government, just as communist agents did in the past, and getting away with it?”
That the Soviets had spies at high levels throughout every federal agency during the 30s and 40s is no longer in dispute. The Venona papers show that the infiltration was much worse than McCarthy imagined. (M Stanton Evans & others have written extensively about it.)
Why else would we have turned over half of Europe to slave-master Stalin (to name but one major treason from the period)? Stalin had Alger Hiss and other spies in FDR’s circle doing his bidding as FDR’s mind was rotting toward death.
For all the horrible “McCarthyism,” very few communists were punished for anything. In fact the entire episode was a brilliant victory for the Left, who made the government safe for Communists forevermore (the DNC is pretty much communist today).
McCarthy, though, was blacklisted and destroyed, his name made permanently synonymous with false accusations.
70 years later we gave nukes to Iran for the same reason: foreign agents and fellow travelers — this time, Muslim — at high levels in our government.
And a modern corollary to the great Joe McCarthy would be Michelle Bachmann. She called for an investigation into Muslim Brotherhood influence on government. But this time there would be no committee – Bachmann was smeared immediately and run out of Congress.
St. Manuel II Palaiologos says
I’ve come onto Mr. Spencer’s side on this one. Which is a surprise, considering that I’m not a Zionist even slightly.
But, I think Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem is a necessary evil. It will force the Palestinian movement to adapt into something which rejects and abhors overt Islamic supremacist overtures, or die.
The Palestinian movement has to be built on the history, tradition and nationality of the Palestinian people alone, or else it is doomed to fail.
DBM echo says
Exactly who are these “Palestinian people” to whom you refer since the term never existed until Arafat conjured it up back in the early 1960s?
Jack Diamond says
You mean the Palestinian nationality invented in the 1960s as a propaganda ju-jitsu to reverse the David vs. Goliath view of tiny Israel surrounded by ravenous wolves (millions of genocidal Muslims) into tiny
“Palestine” victimized by “occupation” and oppression of the (“Nazi-like”) Israelis? That “nation”?
Recognizing Jerusalem is not any kind of evil. It is the capital of Israel and the embassy belongs there. The timidity behind not doing anything to “make them (Muslims) mad” is clearly self-defeating and has only emboldened them everywhere. Second, Islam’s claim on Jerusalem is not simply based on some mythical Night Journey, it is based on the actual occupation of Jerusalem and the entire region being claimed as an Islamic waqf (endowment by Allah and perpetual property of Muslims). Islamic law demands any land consecrated to Islam that is lost, must be recovered. That’s why the Hamas Charter even cries about the loss of Spain.
Just as Islam is about the abrogation of Jewish and Christian scripture and appropriation of its holy figures, it also appropriates the holy places of the Jews & Christians and erases their claims to them. It is a replacement theology. None of this should be given credence by non-Muslims, not the “rights” of Islamic law, and not the “right” of Islam to reinvent and falsify history, not the “right” of Islam to reverse the freedom of the Jewish people from their condition as dhimmi people under Muslim subjugation,
which is what the creation of Israel represents. An historical liberation from slavery intolerable to the Muslims.
“The restoration of the State of Israel, its international recognition among the nations of the world, with Jerusalem as its capital, is a test. The universal acceptance will indicate that old ideologies of hatred, first developed against the Jews, considered as accursed by God, and then against the Christians and other peoples condemned to live in servitude by an eternal jihad, are forever abandoned… for this revocation would prove that we are a united humanity…that is the profound significance of Israel’s return to its land.”

Great on so many points:

> Palestinian falsehoods
> Victim psychosis
> Propaganda (so fake when perceived)
> Jujitsu process of making Jews into Nazis
> Hamas charter

I don’t think the “Palestinians” are going to become more civilized–their whole purpose is the destruction of Israel.
I am glad to see an end to appeasing them, though.

I understand Boyle’s concerns about poking the snake of islamism, but should the US (or any other sovereign nation) allow it’s foreign policy to be dictated by violent extremism, and what about the unjust absurdity of denying that Jerusalem is, and has probably always been, the spiritual capital of the Jewish people?
If Muslim governments around the world cannot contain their violent islamist populations over this simple resolution, then they are either unfitting to rule or are themselves sympathetic to, or complicit with, the islamist ideology.
And when he says that we should respect the muslim belief in flying horses, that might be OK for some, but should we really forge our decisions around such nonsense; is he suggesting that we also accept the sun sets in a pool of muddy water [k 18.86]?
CRUSADER says
If you don’t poke the snake now, when do you poke the snake?
The snake has to get poked!
Call it for what it is.
Treat it for what it is.
As for the nonsense about flying horses,
we have St George who will slay that critter!
Once and for all!

Audio: Robert Spencer on the Peter Boyles Show on why Trump’s Jerusalem move was right
…………………..
Good points as always, Mr. Spencer.
Thomas Kimball says
To hell with Islam we are going to continue to fight them anyway so why let them dictate anything? Poke them in the eye every chance you get! The madder they get the more irrational they will get and the more mistakes they will make. “But people will die” Yes people will continue to die and they would have anyway. Radical Islam didn’t suddenly appear when Trump made the announcement ,they were already killing people and making threats. Screw um!

Mr Spencer, ask Peter Boyles how can illegality be right? mad devil Trump’s recognition of East Jerusalem is illegal under international law as infraction of numerous UN resolution declaring East Jerusalem as Palestinian territory and Jewish settlement there are illegal.

Ah, PRAGER U. strikes again!
Well played!
Westman says
Ibrahim, do you know what the word “resolution” means? If I resolve that Ibrahim Itace Muhammad is a nuisance, what does that mean? The UN cannot make law, period.
And international law? You mean like Roman Polanski not being extradited to the US or Julian Assange to Sweden? You should be smart enough to know there is no such thing as International Law without both agreement and enforcement by major powers. Have you noticed the murderer, Philippine President Duterte, is not in jail? International law is a baised, toothless entity only pulled out for revenge on defeated enemies. In effect, in peacetime, it does not exist.
Face reality, the PA threw away the opportunity for a two-state solution and Allah didn’t care in 1948, 1967, or 1973. Why would he care now?
Ibrahim itace muhammed says
Westmañ, tell evil United States and fascist evil Zionist state of Israel topull out of UN so that international community could get peace.
eduardo odraude says
Do you mean the “peace” of sharia law?
Westman says
Most Americans would be accepting of leaving the UN, removing it from the United States, and sending it to any “peaceful” country of Islam. The UN is little more than a complaint forum and a vacation spot for relatives of corrupt regimes.
There is no such entity as the “International Community” where there was ever, or, ever will be “peace”. There are typically 30 to 40 violent political conflicts(wars) going on in the world, too many of which, involve Muslims killing Muslims.
If Israel was gone tomorrow, the killing among Muslims would continue over who are the real Muslims. The killing of unbelievers, and the push for a Caliphate also would never stop because Islam is a fantasy replacement for real achievement that is indolent, jealous, and intolerant.

What a load of rot from Ibrahim itace muhammed. he himself has affirmed that he seeks the destruction of Israel and the genocide of the Jews.
eduardo odraude says
A bit frustrating at times to listen to Boyle — he keeps interrupting his own questions with digressions and then digressions from digressions, and his intention is to be illustrative of his question, but it takes him forever to get his own question out in an articulate form. To be fair, in part that is because Robert Spencer is extremely articulate and keeps talking over Boyle, but bottom line is that Boyle’s own question is apparently not clear to Boyle. I’ve listened to the first two segments of the interview, and Boyle’s question seems to boil down to why do we go picking these fights. And he equates the Trump statement on Jerusalem to military involvement in Afghanistan. Spencer retorts that they are not the same kind of fight. But Boyle, who clearly has immense respect for Spencer, keeps saying he, Boyle, does not understand why we pick the fight of calling Jerusalem the capital of Israel. Spencer says we are not picking a fight, we are just standing up to violent intimidation, and that is the difference. The difference, I guess, is that Afghanistan is entirely part of the Islamic world, whereas Israel is part of the Western world, and therefore we have a dog in the fight over Israel, but no dog in the fight over Afghanistan.
eduardo odraude says
Boyles, not Boyle
eduardo odraude says
David Wood, after a short bit of humor, examines the core Islamic texts to determine what they show about who killed Muhammad. The answer may shock you, but it’s well grounded in the Islamic sources.

Joe Smith says
That was really hard to listen to. How does this guy not comprehend the obvious? I guess if Qaradawi “finds” the hadith that claims Washington D.C. is the fourth holiest Muslim holy place, because Mohammad seduced his first goat there or something, and in two generations people “really believe” that, then he’d be all for moving the U.S. capitol to like Birmingham or something. Spineless appeasers are nauseating.
eduardo odraude says
Boyles is no spineless appeaser. He has the guts to publicly and repeatedly praise Robert Spencer.
CRUSADER says
Boyles tries, but he is typical of most all radio jockeys, as he has to at some point keep the message palatable to a wider audience, while peddling his ever present commercials inter-spliced throughout his radio show….
If we really want in-depth coverage on the topic, we have to piece the mosaic together ourselves.
Boyles in the long run can only serve as a presenter.

Isn’t it odd how allah and his muslims are not familiar with God’s prophecies concerning Israel and Jerusalem in JOEL chapter 3?
It is quite clear that Israel’s re-establishment(in 1948) was with God’s blessing{ v 1} and that Jerusalem “will be a sacred city” {v 17}
Or the fate that awaits those who think they can destroy Israel?
“Egypt will become a desert and Edom a ruined waste because they attacked the land of Judah and killed its innocent people”{v 19}
Or that Jeruslaem is important to the True God,the God of Moses {v 21}?
“But Judah and Jerusalem will be inhabited forever,
and I the Lord, will live on mount Zion”
Isn’t it odd how allah and his muslims don’t understand any of that:because if they did, they would know that..
1 Israel was rightfully given to the Jews
2.Jeruslalem is clearly meant to be its capital and a sacred city and ..
3.HE {personally–not the Israeli military!}will annihilate any nation that is stupid enough to attack it{e.g… Iran…muslim countries”}
Perhaps allah with his contempt of the Jews, just couldn’t be bothered to learn Hebrew which would enable him and his blind muslims to read scripture and realize that..
1.The future survival of Israel is guaranteed Joel 3 v 16-17
2.It is the ENEMIES of Israel that will be annihilated Joel 3 v 2 and v 19-20
3.Israel belongs to the Jews Joel 3 v 1
4.Jerusalem is its capital city Joel 3 v 17
The future of Israel has already been pre-arranged by the True God ..in FAVOR of Israel’s survival.
Yet,hilariously,muslims don’t see this!
And their allah doesn’t get it.
And those idiotic Iranians:If they think they can destroy Israel{=the Holy Land} and get away with it,perhaps they should know that it is the ENEMIES of Israel that God will destroy…
Zechariah 12 v 3 “I will make Jerusalem like a heavy stone..any nation that tries to lift it WILL be hurt”
Zechariah 12 v 9 “At that time..I WILL DESTROY any nation that tries to attack Jerusalem”
“At that time”…i.e ..in the Future…
The muslim nations don’t get it:Israel’s future is pre-determined by the True God,the God of Moses..in favor of Israel’s survival.
Muslim nations don’t get that:And their allah won’t save them!
Biblical prophecy makes no sense to an atheist and little sense to a muslim.
But it makes perfect sense for Jews(and Christians)..

I agree 100% with Robert’s assessment and, arguments in support of President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.Thank you Robert for stating the case so succinctly – Jerusalem matters! I believe the land and the city belongs to Israel by divine right as well. In addition, Israel is realistically the only nation which could possibly administer Jerusalem (as it has been doing) assuring security and equal access to all the holy sites there as well as in the rest of the country. If the “Palestinians”, represented by Hamas or Fatah were ever to gain control of the city or the country (which I believe will never happen), it would certainly only be a matter of time (and probably a very short time) before they would all kill each other vying for control.
