Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts

Iran: Photo shows Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps badge, note “I won’t accept brutal orders anymore”

If this is authentic, and I have no reason to believe it isn’t, it is an immense sign of hope.

PUT YOUR MIND IN THE DAILY, MONTHLY, YEARLY SITUATIONAL QUAGMIRE OF IRANIANS — ESPECIALLY MILITARY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT —

Who NEVER got any of the mullahs special privileges and under-the-table money from Obama’s multi-billion $$$$ gift.

Those ordinary citizens, soldiers, and law enforcement are FED UP AND P*SSED OFF BEYOND ANY FURTHER TOLERANCE for what Allah’s Old Men have done to wreck the future for Iran.

I wouldn’t encourage the Iranians to count on a massive mutiny. Nonetheless, a massive mutiny such as there was in post-Soviet Russia is the only hope.

The troops need a new government to which they can swear allegiance. If the shah is to be restored, troops would be able to swear allegiance to the king and the king would have the authority to call new elections.

As Robert writes in an earlier and related post, the protests seem to be truly spontaneous — and, therefore expectably, as of now media are not reporting that a “leader” or spokesperson has been designated, although we might not be aware of such people being named.

The situation is chaotic and certainly morphing on a large scale — by the hour. As I and others have concluded, the most effective asset for persons there who want a major change in designated authority AWAY from clerics IS FOR PHONES + INTERNET to remain available for communication.

Task number one for the government is TO SHUT DOWN OR DRASTICALLY IMPEDE such inter-citizen talking, and it has been reported as happening already.

By the way Mortimer — if you read this: how would the “machinery” of restoring a shah be accomplished? I am not being cynical, but since you know much about structures and history over there, your conjecture would be muchly appreciated by me.

Reza Pahlavi, Crown Prince of Iran, is alive, and heading up an exiled opposition group. I don’t know what the odds are of a Pahlavi restoration, but the family still has some sort of power base:

The opposition figures who settled in exile in Paris were a fine lot but unfortunately they are very elderly now and their children have no first hand experience of life in contemporary Iran. The young people living in Iran, if they are successful in overthrowing the Theocracy, will be looking for a constitutional monarchy with extensive reserve powers, if they opt for a return to the monarchy at all. In religious affairs, I think there is a widespread sentiment for the entire stripping away of authority from the Shia Religious Establishment and its replacement with a Zoroastrian administered body to take responsibility for births, deaths and marriages records, administer charities and run hospitals and welfare initiatives; a role similar that of the Lutheran Church in Sweden. Feelings are so intense and resentment against the Arab cultural yoke so strong that this would be seen now, by many, as a necessary break with the past and a necessary assertion of national cultural identity and pride.

New Years Greetings to you Elderly Zionist

If only. I understand that there is very little left of Zoroastrianism in Persia. The Parsis have been in exile in India for more than 1000 years. Do you have any different information? Crown Prince Reza proclaims himself a devout Shia, as his father did before him. It seems that a more secular, less militant, but still Shia Iran is the best we can hope for. I could live with that and be glad.

There are talks among students concerning leadership. For instance, they are trying to organize protests generally at night and with people meeting up at a predetermined location. Obviously the government attempting a media blackout will make that difficult.

BASIJ STANDS IN THE WAY OF MUTINY

Iran has a paramilitary, volunteer militia called the Basij which is similar to Hitler’s brown shirts. The purpose of the Basij is to terrorize the citizens of Iran.

Officially, the Basij has over 11 million members, but it is estimated that there are about 600,000. They consist of mostly middle class people who need extra money and who want to support the mullahs retain control.

The Basij can be given the authority to act as vigilantes against government opponents.

That heinously cruel and murderous Islamic tyranny of Iran is very brutal and vicious to the Iranian people. Especially regarding females. Both girls and women. For example a teenage girl in Iran was talking to her boyfriend on the phone and then the Islamic state “police” walked over to her and shot her dead. They did that wicked and malicious thing to her because she was talking to her boyfriend and they also didn’t like her clothing. [1] That was a clear cut case of murder and vicious Islamic madness by Iran’s Islamic state “ police”, who call themselves the “Revolutionary Guards”, they got away with their hideous and malice –filled evil because the mullahs as well as other villains in power in that tyrannical Islamic regime

It is seldom, if ever, true that evil does good in the world so when Neo-Cons call for support to protests, eyebrows should be raised in skepticism.

It appears that another color revolution is underway. While many of the demands are legitimate, all signs are pointing toward Western subversion in an attempt to break Iran in the final domino to fall in the Middle East according the The Pentagon’s New Map: War and Peace in the Twenty-First Century. Destroying Iran would also destroy Hezbollah, weaken Syria and Russia.

If anything can be learned from the 2009 revolution, Iran will move quickly to smash the protests with an iron fist. However, if the protests taking place in Iran today are indeed a color revolution and if the West is committed, the Path to Persia will likely see an escalation in violence, and ultimately direct military confrontation by proxy and even by the U.S. military itself. What ever happens, Iran will be a major player in the Gog and Magog attack on Israel.

          Dec 31, 2017 at 8:33 pm

Neo-cons are not evil. It’s just that their philosophy turned out to have validity within a narrower frame of reference than they had thought. The neo-con philosophy (spread democracy by force when you have the opportunity) is valid only where a real liberal democracy can be established (as in Japan and Germany after WWII). The neo-cons were too optimistic about how widely applicable their philosophy is, because they underestimated how refractory to liberal democracy Islam is. After so many years of American effort, Iraq now has only a quasi-democracy, and so it appears that the huge expenditure of American blood and treasure in Iraq was probably a terrible waste, though time will tell.

The mullahs and ayatollahs as well as other fiendish Muslim villains who have such strong control and awful tyranny over the Iranian people are a despicable lot. They in power in their Islamic tyranny which they so inappropriately call a “Republic” is both physically and mentally oppressive. To the latter of the two controls which is the mental oppression. The mullahs and ayatollahs very much limit the information the Iranian people receive from the outside world.. Therefore the mind mind over the people ,they hope, will be strong. This is somewhat of a reminder of the two wise statements of Thomas Jefferson .Who wrote “Enlighten the people ,generally ,and tyranny and oppression will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day.” Mr. Jefferson also declared “I have sworn upon the alter of God eternal hostility against every for of tyranny over the mind of man.”

  8. Walter Sieruk says

    Dec 31, 2017 at 3:16 pm

Those mullahs and ayatollahs and others in total power in this Islamic tyranny of Iran keep the Iranian people oppressed and strongly under their control in by many brutal, harsh and unconscionable ways. One of the ways is by use of band of thugs who are who are called the “Revolutionary Guards.” Therefore many of the Iranians live in awful fear of those tyrants in power in that Islamic regime. To such oppressive tyrannical control by this “mullah’s regime” the wisdom found in one of the periodicals of POOR RICHARD’S ALMANACK has the answer which may apply to this subject. For in that publication Benjamin Franklin printed “Those who are feared are also hated .”

    …………………………..

Wow! If this is a sign that some of the police will refuse to arrest and murder their own people protesting the Mullahs this is a fantastic sign.

One thing I wonder–are Revolutionary Guard’s badges generic, or do they have identifying numbers? Do any who escaped Iran, like miriam rove, know?

If they are generic, this is still a brave move. If they have identifying numbers, then they are taking a *huge* chance, and would seem to be hoping that the protests are so huge it will offer theme some protection.

The black and gold emblem shown is a patch exclusive to the Revolutionary Guards. Part of the emblem is a Quranic verse. I don’t think there is a number but no one is isn’t a Revolutionary Guard would dare wear one. The Revolutionary Guards run economic activities, a parallel armed forces including a reserve army, and the police forces that hold everything together. It’s scope is vast. However, when the waste hits the fan, I don’t think anyone will want to be seen wearing a Sepah uniform. Much like the Waffen SS after the war was over, they will try to pass themselves off as regular soldiers.

If the mullahs are to be deposed, the people will need some back up by others with some real firepower. Unarmed civilians facing the basij and IGRC will be smashed quickly and the remainder tracked down. The Iranian army, navy, and air force need to back the people and throw the mullahs and IRGC/Basij out.
