“There is no way that there can be talks with the Americans. The peace process is finished. They have already pre-empted the outcome,” said Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi. “They cannot take us for granted.”

What brazen hypocrisy. Of course, the “Palestinians” have always been masters at that. When was the “peace process” ever anything but a means by which the “Palestinians” won concessions from the Israelis and Americans? When did they ever stop taking the Americans for granted? For years, they figured they could commit any jihad atrocity, and celebrate it by passing out candy on the streets, and knew that the Americans would not hold them accountable.

Now that may be ending, and not a moment too soon.

JERUSALEM (AP) — America’s friends and foes unleashed fierce criticism on Wednesday ahead of President Donald Trump’s announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

While Israel welcomed the news, Palestinian officials declared the Mideast peace process “finished” and Turkey announced it would host a meeting of Islamic nations next week to give Muslim countries’ leaders an opportunity to coordinate a response. The Arab League scheduled an emergency meeting on Saturday.

The harsh global reaction cast questions about the feasibility of a brewing U.S. peace plan that is expected to be presented by the White House in the near future.

The Palestinians seek east Jerusalem as the capital of a future independent state and fear that Trump’s declaration essentially imposes on them a disastrous solution for one of the core issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“There is no way that there can be talks with the Americans. The peace process is finished. They have already pre-empted the outcome,” said Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi. “They cannot take us for granted.”

The U.S. decision “destroys the peace process,” added Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah. Top Palestinian officials were meeting Wednesday to plot their course forward….

Pope Francis said he was “profoundly concerned” and appealed that “everyone respects the status quo of the city.” China, which has good ties with Israel and the Palestinians, expressed concerns over “possible aggravation of regional tensions.” Russia, a key Mideast player, expressed its concern about a “possible deterioration.” Two leading Lebanese newspapers published front-page rebukes of Trump.

Britain’s Foreign Minister, Boris Johnson, who had already expressed concern about the U.S. decision, on Wednesday said it was now time for the Americans to present their peace plan for the region.

Trump’s Mideast team, led by his adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, have spent months meeting with Israeli, Palestinian and Arab leaders. Details of their long awaited plan remain a mystery.

“Clearly this is a decision that makes it more important than ever that the long-awaited American proposals on the Middle East peace process are now brought forward,” Johnson told reporters in Brussels….

Elsewhere, however, reactions were skeptical, especially across the Muslim world. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the “whole world is against” Trump’s move, and the supreme leader of Iran, Israel’s staunchest enemy, condemned Trump.

The state TV’s website quoted Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as saying that “the victory will ultimately be for the Islamic nation and Palestine.”

Iran does not recognize Israel, and supports anti-Israeli militant groups like Lebanese Hezbollah and Palestinian Hamas.

    Life will go on. A few bombs will go off, Muslim terrorists will go to jail and there will be no war. Islam is very weak and Muslims haven’t the will or heart to fight.

  2. So what’s new. The Arabs have reneged on all the peace talks to date. They don’t want peace. They want to exterminate the whole Israeli nation – as foretold in that old Book which also foretells divine intervention to stop that extermination taking place.

        The so-called peace process was a sequence of iterative attempts to whittle away Israeli land. The Mohammadans want the eradication of all Jews.

      West-Jordanian families can now face the question of how they wish to live their own lives, and what kind of community they want to create. If they are smart, they will insist on a buy-out – dollars in return for moving to Jordan.

      Without the distraction of the infernal “peace process,” youngsters no longer need to be raised as canon fodder for the demented wet dreams of a narrow and corrupt political elite.

      *N.B.: The term “West Jordanian” Is historically accurate. Arab inhabitants of the “West Bank” were Jordanian citizens until 2000 before Jordan “withdrew” its citizenship from its citizens in furtherance of the pipe dream of a made-up “Palestinian” nation ruled by a small elite. Nobody thought or talked about a “Palestinian” nation before 1967.

The main objective of the fanatical Muslim countries surrounding Israel is it’s obliteration from the face of the earth .     The Philistines (where the name comes from), were a coastal tribe of non-Arabic origin, probably an Aegean seafaring race.

    So their rightful ‘capital’ belongs in Gaza – Jerusalem was always a Jewish/Israelite center.

    • If the Palestinians can prove that they are descendants of the Philistines, in the same manner that geneticists managed to trace Jewish mitochondrial DNA back to the times of Ezra and the Middle Eastern region, then I will agree that they can live somewhere in the region, in whatever area that’s supported by ancient non-religious texts. If they can’t prove that, then they have no right to lay claim to any portion of Israel, let alone Jerusalem. It was never theirs to begin with, and they lost all rights when they again and again thwarted any peace process in the past.

Not saying that this doesn’t align extremely well with modern Nazi ideology, but Islamic hatred of Jews & Judaism is as old as the religion itself. But the mufti is an important piece of the modern Palestinian puzzle, I agree. In 1937 the Peel Commission decided to split the Brisih Palestine Territory into a Jewish & an Arab state, the zionists agreed — not wholeheartedly, but they agreed –, but the Palestinians said no. Instead they hoped that the Nazis would eventually help them conquer the whole of the land. Antisemitism was an attractive bonus factor, but not the primary reason for the cooperation. They were just looking for another power player to help them, and Nazi Germany was the only real choice they had against the British plans. At any rate, this stance of saying no to any peace offering has become a Palestinian method after the war. They are despicable.

      Let’s set up an international conference to discuss a solution to the Vatican Problem, perhaps along the lines of a Two State Solution.

      In the interest of balance, stakeholders such as Turkey, Tunisia and Kosovo should be invited to contribute their views within the framework of a permanent international conference with offices in Lausanne.

      As a precondition for further discussions, millions of descendants of Roman peasants who sold their land to the Papal Entity will need to be be given a Right of return and life-long compensation out of EU funds.

      Leftist “Law Schools” can offer workshops and publish propaganda screeds on the status of Vatican territory in “international law,” and the UN can schedule weekly denunciations of alleged violation of “international law” by the Papal Entity and its evil supporters.

  10. The German population was about 70 million before WW2, and they said only 30% of Germans were actually Nazis. 21 million people then, and look at the mess THEY created, from a confined area of the world.

    What’s the Muslim population? About 1.6 billion?

    It takes only 1.3% of Muslims to make 21 million to absolutely hate Jews.

    A Jihad watch article said 51% of Muslims support Sharia law.

    Estimates say anywhere from 5% MINIMUM, to 15% and even higher, of Muslims are radical.

    And 10 years ago I watched a major American major news channel state a poll, amongst Muslims that 1 in 4 Muslims said they would not report an Islamic terror plot if they knew about it.

    So taking those numbers into account, we’re supposed to believe there ever was a “Peace Process”?

    Give me a break.

  12. There is no peace process. For the past 50 or so years, the whole thing has been a sham. The Palestinian leadership promotes anti-Israel and anti-American hatred because there is political power in doing so. If anything, Trump’s decision may destabilize this ugly game and lead to progress. If it doesn’t, then nothing is really lost.

    That means the Holy Land belongs to the Jews, according to these Quranic verses. The so called “Palestinians” are basically Arabs, renamed that for propaganda purposes after the 1967 war to get a false claim on the land. Similarly Algeria is Berber land, not Arab land. And Iraq is Assyrian & Chaldean land not Arab land.

The Palestinian leaders seem to espouse Khrushchev’s theory of compromise of “What is yours, we will discuss and what is ours is ours.” The difference is that the Soviet Union never stated that it’s raison d’être is the destruction of the United States. The PLO has yet to renounce in writing the Cairo Accord in which the PLO’s stated purpose is to do just that, push the Jews into the sea and Hamas refuses to even discuss the possibility of a treaty with Israel.

Peace will occur only when all the people of earth submit to the law of Islam.
